Dormant.
/ˈdɔːm(ə)nt/
adjective
(of an animal) having normal physical functions suspended or slowed down for a period of time, in or as if in a deep sleep.
The Draught of Living Death was an extremely powerful Sleeping Draught, sending the drinker into a deathlike slumber. Its effects are similar to suspended animation.
Fem Harry. Not and Master of Death story.
Strelitzia D. Potter formerly Harry James Potter secludes herself in the Chamber of Secrets and downs a vile of 'Draught of Living Death', hoping never to wake again. If she could not die, then she chose not to wake. As she slumbers, the world around her changes.
In the Earth's lithosphere, gigantic and irregularly-shaped rocks, known as tectonic plates, shift at the "seams" where the plates come in contact, and the crustal rocks grind violently against each other, causing earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. The seas have risen, and the climate is patchy and selective. The magnetic fields, like the climate, have formed intense irregularities.
Governments rise and fall along with their societies after each calamity until finally settling. A few thousand years have passed. The world has reset. And Powers have changed. Magic has disappeared from the world, replaced with abilities granted by strange fruits.
The Chamber of Secrets, a place that once was home to a proud wizened long dead man's secrets and his giant serpent, and bore witness to its death; a place that had once shielded a boy from his shame and pain and witnessed his demise too, it was the place that had housed a girl too painfully alone to continue on in a world that demanded too much from the desperately lonely child and gave very little in return, finally crumbled around the girl's prone form.
And still, she sleeps.
Until the day she is found. By a man and his Jolly Crew of misfits who had been there originally to settle a debate between two prominent pirate crews on the allegiance of a crew member. Their fight, which lasted ten days, sent shock waves rippling through the island and set a crack in a cliff side that crumpled away revealing a statue of a sleeping girl.
That day, a god whispered unseen and unheard by the mortal men that surrounded the strange bare statue of a sleeping girl, freeing the girl from her curse of undying as she had wanted all those years ago, taking back what had been foolishly gifted to three brothers in a different time, long passed and long forgotten by man.
The curse was never meant to fall on such a hurt and kind yet undaunted soul. It had been meant for the greedy and foul as a punishment; to walk the Earth unable to rest peacefully, unable to die with only the ability to feel endless hunger and pain until the very end of time. A sad fate to fall on a child that only wanted to be understood and free; as the time when things were simpler, when she could still enjoy the wind that had nipped at her face and whipped her hair, when she was in the sky unbound by rules of the universe she was free. The curse had stolen that from her. Leaving her unfeeling and broken eventually with no one and nothing.
The being would do this one thing for one of its most favoured mortal creatures before returning to its place of rest. Where it would be freed(by two rather tenacious brothers) from a prison that could never hold it in another universe far detached from this one.
The god smiled unseen and the sun grew warm. And the girl, Strelitzia D. Potter jolted awake. Smacking heads with the curious boy, who had been leaning in for a closer look at her previously stone face, and startling his company out of their well meaning humour.
Shouts of surprise rang in the warm air of the cleverly hidden Island.
"OWW!!" being the loudest and tamest of the many expletives the adults in their company released in their state of surprise. It wasn't an easy feat to catch these men off guard so their surprise was warranted.
A pause. A breath and then a deafening scream.
"EEEK!!"
It was then the first mate had sense enough to offer the stark naked not-statue girl his coat to cover herself with, only to be beaten by a much larger man who was closer and swamped her small frame in the fabric, when she stopped screaming and realised for herself her wardrobe predicament.
She may have been asleep but that didn't mean her clothes would have stayed as she was petrified for who knows how long.
Terrified and confused, the teenager in appearance and spirit was at first unwilling to cooperate with the men that surrounded her no matter how kindly and well meaning they looked. She had fallen for that too many times. But looking at the now bleary(due to her near sightedness, that she thought was corrected in her fourth year)form of the boy she had accidentally headbutted and the other two blob like vaguely human shapes previously unnoticed by her, not far behind the first; from how they all acted around each other Strelitzia deemed them, the giant blurry man who had given her his outer coat and the first who attempted to offer his as safe.
And was willing to follow them at a distance with their easily interpreted follow gesture when words spoken didn't seem to settle in her still waking brain.
They tried speaking to her again but her mind was too fuzzy to fully comprehend what was being said. She just stared at them blankly and blinked periodically with her head tilted to one side squinting.
They had lead her to a shore where two enormous ships were anchored further out on the ocean, after a long trek through very unsettlingly unfamiliar terrain that had prompted Strelitzia to step closer to the older boy, that looked of an age with her and nearer to the man who owned the coat that swamped her form. Her eyes zipped from tree to tree and stone to stone.
What happened to her home? How long had she been dormant?
It wasn't that she was overly worried about people and friends she didn't have why she questioned these things. No it was because Hogwarts had been the only home she and any lost kid before her had known. If Hogwarts was gone what did she have? There was no one and now nothing keeping her here aside from memories too painful to willingly revisit.
She sat in one of the long boats that held the teen and the larger than average man, staring pensively out at the rolling waves as they rowed back to their respective ships. Seeming to commune a meet up on the larger of the two vessels.
She had yet to attempt speaking to her companions, uncertain if the words would form correctly or if they could understand what she was saying; if it wasn't just brain fog from being dormant for so long. Strelitzia is broken from her musings by a finger poking her cheek.
Blinking she turned her head to face the culprit and her brow furrowed, when his eyes trailed from her own to a spot she assumed was on her forehead she brushed her longer but no less black hair from her face. Her eyes widening in horror when her fingertips grazed the dimple left behind from her once cursed scar and she jolted her body away from the pineapple blond, a delayed response to be sure and she nearly tumbled over the edge of the boat in the doing so. Which would have been terrible in itself since she can't swim. Luckily the giant of a man's hand stopped her from taking that dip.
Still she felt oddly self-conscious of the scar and hid it back beneath her bangs and glowered at the other teen shoving herself into the confines of the enormous coat to hide her shame until they reached their destination.
The kindly giant man (bigger than Haggrid and his brother!) offered Strelitzia his hand so she could board the ship without prying eyes leering at her, grateful she smiled her thanks it was a soft timid thing unlike her free and unafraid smiles exclusively for her flying and clambered onto the appendage bracing herself as he leapt onto the deck of his grand ship.
Where they would figure out what to do with her for the time being she supposed as he ushered her into a cabin above deck with his hand before calling out to some of the crew members.
A while later had Strelitzia being poked and prodded by some pink clad females they appeared to have on board before they left soon to return with clothes fitting enough for her. A few sizes too large perhaps but for now it will do just fine. She had been wearing Dudley's hand-me-downs for years, a slightly loose waistband was nothing compared to the hand width gaps on those old rags.
Overwhelmed by everything that had happened to her in the span of what felt like a few days but was in reality so long she had been petrified somehow, she fell asleep in her new attire on the comfy looking bolted down bed curled in a ball.
Ayy anon. It's called fanfiction. It's whatever bruh. I'm literally just writing this for fun no need to bite my head off about it jeez grow up.
You seriously don't have to read it, if you don't like it, it's just a waste of time reading something you don't like, purely to complain about it. And a headache. Unless of course, you're into that kind of thing? Then go off I guess? I won't judge.
Anyway have you ever actually read Harry Potter? Because if you had you'd know canonically Harry Potter was dumb as hell. But people still stick to him being so smart in fanfic bc literally anything else is better than canon. Also Fem Harry has been a thing for ages no one who matters actually cares. One Piece is wicked crazy and fun. Harry Potter sucks shit.
I mean just take one look at the other crap I write it's basically the same shit. I don't much like hp and I don't care bc look it's an opinion you're allowed to have one doesn't mean I gotta agree. What'd you think I was gonna do after reading your review? Curl up and cry about it? Lol no I laughed and shared it with my friends so they could laugh too bc bro you're wasting your own time talking to me like a coward. I dont give a fuck about you, you got that mate? And clearly you don't care all too much for me or my stuff and bro that's fine now be on your merry way. I got a fic to write.
