Siha: Rise of Rakhana

Part III

"Silver and Fire"

Tetonbaum stands with his arms crossed over the breadth of his chest, looking menacing and powerful with the sapphires locked on the drell across from him. Feron glances over his arm as he handles the ship's controls, the twins kicking at crinkly paper they've returned to as a solution to their boredom. "So, ah, you're a th'ane," Feron tries to make small talk, "…Who recently decided not to kill us all."

"Only Braith, Casnar, and Ylyssus."

"Right, sorry, I get confused sometimes," Feron chuckles half-heartedly and looks to the displays, tapping in a few course corrections and ignoring the calls by government entities to respond, "…Sorry, nope, not talking to you and you…" He settles back in his chair as Jaspin climbs up into his lap and sits at the controls, putting his hands up like Feron behind his head to simulate driving.

Tetonbaum grins and looks out the windshield, "…Where are we heading…Rakhana?"

"Yeah," Feron shrugs his shoulders to his tenesses, Jaspin mimicking him and smiling up at Feron's downturned chuckle, "…Somewhere on Rakhana…I think Casnar's got it planned out, and I'm just here to keep the course for wherever it is…Looks like it's west of the continent, though…Gruin Tira Leeis or something…"

Tetonbaum drops his arms. "What."

Feron, Jaspin, and Jenner look suddenly at the th'ane, his voice causing them to appear disconcerted by the reaction.

Casnar looks irritably up at him from laying on his side on the bunk, Braith no longer in the cabin with him but across the bridge in the first cabin with Ylyssus. "What, did you think I would just let you shove your prick into my wife without there being some sort of repercussions, Tetonbaum?"

Tetonbaum grips the doorframe, his sapphires wide, "…You cannot be taking us to Gruinn Tiira Leeis, Casnar."

"You don't want to see your mother and your wife?"

"How did you know…The shards…" Tetonbaum says, stepping forward and closing the door behind him.

Casnar sits up, drawing the blankets around his waist and tucking these to himself, "…I know your mother's alive, Tetonbaum, and not through the shards…Our father keeps touch with her…Yes," he turns his emeralds up to his half-brother, "…When you said you'd hidden Kasumi, it could have only been one place, and I guessed it. Didn't I."

Tetonbaum takes a big breath, "…Are you going to tell her…"

Casnar leans forward, dangerously glinting from his eyes as he twists the knife over his half-brother—metaphorically speaking, "…I'll let you tell her…I'm sure she's eager to learn how and why you sent her there in the first place, and if I have an idea of how your wife reacts to things that displease her, Braith's tantrums will be nothing in comparison to what's in store for you." Casnar couches a smile in his mouth's corner, "…Next time you take liberties with my wife and give her a child or two, think twice before you set your priapismic cock near her, Tetonbaum."
