Chapter 6 A Month passed and a backup request

Waking up today hits the first month I've been a genin of the leaf village and also a month of being in Shikamaru's body and while I try extremely hard when I train with dad, my team or Sakura who seems happier than ever she managed to have Kakashi-Sensei escort her to the hospital and even got her a mentor who the person was Sakura wouldn't tell me but from what I heard from Sakura is that her team are better then they were when we fought against each other and how Naruto was her childhood friend which honestly surprised me but made sense as his crush never really got fleshed out so it was a left alone a lot after Shippuden.

In training I have managed to lower the hand signs for the Jutsu down to 3 and lower the amount I need for the jutsu to activate and he told me once I master the Shadow Imitation Jutsu I get to learn one of the other jutsu like that strangle one Shikaku and Shikamaru used in the original Naruto. I mean my. Hanta reserves have increased from completing both Tree and Water Walking and now I'm getting started to try and find other ways like combining the leaf concentration if you use to much. Halts it will blow off it you use to little it doesn't move so I started to do it on a tree then the water but I wonder how I should work on Chakra Control should I do the steps for the Rasengan it's said it's an amazing for Chakra Control and to teach how to mold Chakra without the help of hand signs…will that help me with the jutsu's I have I wonder we'll I have to look for them but maybe later after I accumulate more Chakra plus I prefer the Chidori if I'm honest but yea maybe I should train for my natural affinity chakra nature. Maybe I'll ask Asuma-Sensei later today.

Getting to the meeting spot just outside of the Hokage mission room that was abandoned after the 3rd use of the room if I remember but that's irrelevant. We walked inside to see Hokage-Sama smoking from the pipe he had reading a mission report as he spotted us. While Asuma-Sensei and the Hokage were having idle chitchat I saw a hawk cawing in the air as it was coming to us. I pointed at the bird as everyone in the room stopped and turned to see the flying animal enter through the open window landing in front of the Hokage who looked in the package the hawk sent by the note in the compartment in its pack.

"Oh no it seems Team 7 have taken a Mission that they ran into two Chunin level Ninja in a supposed C rank mission." I raised my eyebrow at this turn of events…this never came in the original I didn't even change tha- Sakura! Would have gave push back to ask for reinforcements and to continue the Mission.

"Hokage-Sama utilizing a team full of Chunins don't you thin-" Iruka-Sensei was cut off by the Hokage who did agree with him. "A waste of resources…Asuma do you think your team is ready for a mission like this." Hokage-Sama asked Asuma-Sensei who looked at all of us and smiled and nodded.

"Kids pack for a minimum of a week and in 30 minutes meet at the main gate and we won't walk at civilian pace so be prepared to move. Team dismissed." At the dismissal of us I smiled as I jumped over the table and out the window grabbing the frame and positioning myself to jump onto the one of the nearby walls which I make and I jump to another roof as I scream "Parkour!"

1 ½ Hour Kakashi POV

I was walking with my team and after a month of Training in teamwork as that was what we needed for the team. Overall the team as been going better ever since Sakura made a critical change for the better now the others on the team like Sasuke and even Naruto were more calm but they still had there rivalry that entertaining at times annoying the other times. I have asked Sakura where these changes come from and though she doesn't verbally answer I could see her cheeks go red signifying a crush on who I may not no but if my buddy Shikamaru told me as we read Icha Icha sometime together he said it would be a crush or she's embarrassed but what's to be embarrassed about. Ignoring that there seems to be something happening though Naruto has been closer to Sakura and every time he really is near here his cheeks go red themselves and when she grabs his hand the red explode that happens goes everywhere. Then there's Sasuke who previously didn't want to be associated with Sakura wanting to now impress her during training and then stopping and putting on a deep scowl on his face.

Acknowledging my team as I see a puddle of water…there someone in there it hasn't rained all week or month to be honest this is stupid…I looked back to see Sakura mildly catching the puddle and Naruto and Sasuke not catching it. Hmm I walk by without trying to let a clue slip as a head come from the puddle and suddenly I find myself wrapped around with a chain as I'm squeezed I perform a substitution justu as the log a changed with exploded into many pieces. I was now ready to step in when I needed but honestly looking at Sakura pinning the chain with pinpoint accuracy and Sasuke kicking one out of the way I managed to get a good look at these two. There the Demon brothers Chunin level rouge Ninja though they don't really are that strong as Sakura punched one out of his gauntlet as he fell to the floor and pinned by two Naruto clones. Sasuke who kicked the other one away was having a harder time trying to catch him as he managed to slip out of Sasuke's grasp and head for the client the Master Bridge Builder Tazuna. I closeline the last one as he fell unconscious from the force. "Nice job you guys. Now help me tie them up."

After tying the last of what's needed I turned to Tazuna. "This was supposed to be a C-rank there was not meant to be any Ninja in this mission could you tell me why would you lie." I gave him an eye smile as the man started to sweat bit by bit. Until he just gave in and told us that a man named Gato was running the whole wave into poverty in hopes to buy the land for cheap but if Tazuna built this bridge the land would prosper.

"Well since you dragged us here already I'll give my team the vote I say we go back you all." I gestures for them and Sasuke and Naruto wanted to continue so I then looked at Sakura for what she wanted.

"Well I want to help but I think it's wise to call for reinforcements as we don't know if we are coming across a more dangerous Shinobi but as the situation explained we probably are." That's something I didn't think off quite smart.

"Did you learn that from your BoyFriend~" I laughed as I summoned a hawk and wrote a note quickly.

"Sakura…you have a Boyfriend." Sasuke asked more like demanded as his eyes…was that the Sharingan!

"S-Sasuke I don't have a boyfriend he's just my friend!"

"So there is a boy." Naruto responded.

"Wait what's up with you guys!" Sakura raised her voice as Sasuke turned his head and started to think clearly and noticed he could see more.

'I…unlocked the Sharingan…how? It's said it's through emotional stress or naturally it happens…I gues it just happened.' Sasuke blinked and turned his eyes off as he looked back at the others.

I finished writing down my letter as I folded it and signed it with name as I packed it onto the hawk and it took off in the direction of Konoha.

"We should go now or it's never." We started our trek through now with more danger approaching any minute now.

Present Time

We got off the boat as we washed up on the shore of the Wave country it's very misty just like in the water and as we trek through the misty shore we walked until Naruto threw a kunai as it hit a bush though something did let out a shriek though it was animalistic. Sakura raced at the figure and picked it up and it was a bunny…it was white.

I could tell that Sakura looked at it with widened eyes and Sasuke was about to completely scold Naruto but that didn't go anywhere when I spotted a blade. "Duck!" I tacked Tazuna down making it to the floor as I looked at the flying blade hitting and sticking to a tree. As a man jumped on the handle of the blade looking real smug as he looked down at us.

"Momochi Zabuza one of the Seven Swordsman of the Mist" I stated as I got up before anyone and our eyes clash.

"Oh my it's my lucky day Kakashi Hatake of the Sharingan said to have copied over a thousand Jutsu, it's an honor truly but I need the Bridge builder so drop him and you might be able to leave this with a couple of those genins or you could all die." Zabuza now looked at the Bridge builder sending some Killing intent at them.

Naruto grabbed a Kunai and was ready to charge and I stopped him by holding his shoulder. "Naruto this man is above your level he's a Jonin level Ninja let me handle him." Naruto frowned but I sigh as I step in front of them and grab a kunai and I perform a sneaky Shadow clone that substitutes himself to the tree line then again to me as now I was in the trees so he would attack the shadow clone.

"Shikamaru" POV

I reach home as I grab my Dads used bag as I started to pack more clothes and another pack of weapons…I need some rations to take on this mission.

Getting everything and not trying to overstuff the bag but I ran outside quickly spooking my mother as I ran without my Chakra I ran faster I ran just as fast 1 month ago with Chakra so at a genin level and charging myself with a ton I get to Low Chunin and normally is high genin which is due to the Chakra control I've been doing and if I had to guess my Chakra is up to a normal or low Chunin so I'm doing good with that and I'm bound to get even stronger if I had some other stufff uhh.

Jumping on a building and then landing next to Asuma-Sensei who was wearing nothing special but a bag with niceties himself but probably a storage scroll inside his bag. "Here let me check your bag." I give him my bag and he nodded at finding anything and everything I needed though looked a bit awkwardly at me.

"Are you planning to only eat ration bars." I just shrugged at him as he threw me my bag bag as we waited and Asuma-Sensei moved to talk with Izumi and Kotetsu the usual people to watch the gates. Hmm why not. I walk closer to them as I stop next to Sensei.

"Oh is this the kid you've been talking about huh Asuma." It was Kotetsu who said it as he was wearing a standard Konoha uniform with a bandage over his nose.

"Thanks for telling me Asuma-Sensei can't keep his mouth shut." I slyly look at Asuma as he huffed and looked the other way.

"Well it is nice meeting ya kid and to tell ya Asuma keep saying your going to be the best Shinobi there ever was." Izumo chuckled I knew he wasn't making fun of me but I still kinda felt like it but I knew it wasn't deep.

"And you keep hearing how Asuma is going to 'win' over Kurenai." I chuckled and so did the Chunins as Asuma's hand came and gripped my head as he had a tick mark on his forehead.

We talked with Izumo and Kotetsu until Ino and Choji arrived and as we said our goodbyes Choji asked us what we were doing.

"I introduced Shikamaru to Izumo and Kotetsu the main gate guards and now I'm starting to regret it. Right we're taking the trees we're moving with urgency and expect it to make it to the coast within an hour or less." We nod at the seriousness and we take off.

"Hey Shikamaru do you know where we're going." Choji asked me as I jumped to another tree Choji and Ino next to me as Asuma-Sensei was in front leading the pack.

"If I remember it would be to the Wave Country as Asuma-Sensei said and we were backing up Team 7 as Shinobi are actually after them from the report." I stated what I was told by Asuma-Sensei as we raced to the coast…how are we going to get there I mean huh I'm at a loss.

We continue to run and get there in about an hour from the shore as we stopped at the small port town here. Asuma looked around and started to ask the guys with boats if they would take us there but alas theres always a problem.

"If you're so willing than you can give me…100,000 Ryo for it each guest." The man saw the look of exasperation from Asuma-Sensei as he then turned his back.

"If any of you have a bright idea then this is where our journey stops." I stopped and looked around.

"Oh you've got to be kidding we have to help be there and help." Choji said as Ino agreed with him on that she needed to help Sakura.

"Can't we make our own boat to support us?" I turned to them as Asuma-Sensei started to think about it as the light in a figurative light bulb turned on.

"Nice see this is why you're such a good genin even though you act like an ass." I blanked at him and gave him a dry look as he grabbed at his trench knives and held them blades up and flooded his wind Chakra in them and slashed a tree as it fell down and he started to cut more pieces….this was going to take a while to make them start going. I go and look in my pack as I grab what I though I needed to restrain an enemy but now have to tie together a make shift boat wow this worlds weird isn't it.

1 Hour Later…

We're off on the races as we now made the boat like a normal rowboat but getting it to float and keep its form with Ninja Wire off all things made it harder but we eventually made it pretty stable if I do sag so myself and even Asuma-Sensei says he has pride in this as the wood was cut by him and it does look clean as his Chakra blades just glided near the bark and it started to cut which made the cutting easier which was a blessing that we have Asuma-Sensei as our teacher. Plus I doubt most people could water walk all the way to Wave I mean with all the Waves psh I should end myself!

Making it to the Wave country shore with a normal looking boat quite close to us we got off the boat and we walked on but I did see Asuma-Sensei 'discreetly' seal the boat away…smooth Asuma-Sensei really smooth.

We continued on through the woods to grandma's house or in this case Grandpa Tazuna's house as I see the home and recognize the place. "We're here." Asuma-Sensei looked at me with an eyebrow raised but decided it wasn't worth questioning me as it would led to more questions than answer's than Questions.

Sasuke POV

After the battle with Zabuza Momochi where we were forced to watch what a high level Shinobi was able to do with Kakashi-Sensei and Zabuza no how they walked on water and did that water dragon jutsu damn I didn't have my Sharingan activated through that entire battle. But even then that wasn't the biggest shock it was that Kakashi-Sensei had a Sharingan even though he wasn't an Uchiha I was now resting after having the biggest amount of Killing intent thrown at me as that Zabuza and the kick he landed on my chest still hurt and Kakashi-Sensei passed out due to Chakra exhaustion. The only one that was for sure fresh was Sakura who we had to forcibly tell her to protect Tazuna as she wanted to help Kakashi-Sensei but what's worse than an injured medic…why don't I want her hurt…yea I wouldn't want anymore dead weight on the team…if that bastard hit her I would have his head!….What's happening to me Why can't I think about anything else other than SAKURA!

"Sasuke did you call me." I opened my eyes to see Sakura with her headband on without that jacket which left her with her Black long sleeved shirt and biker shorts.

I tried to look anywhere but in her direction as she came up closer to me. "Wait I get it does your chest still hurts doesn't it." Sakura glided her hands to my chest as a blush comes from my cheeks as I recoil in pain.

"Here take your shirt off." She looked intent on helping me but my blush stayed on my face as I kept getting lost in her eyes. "Sasuke if you're embarrassed about getting naked I've seen dozens of guys shirtless in the hospital." I felt angry….why do I fell like I want to kill those people. "Hn" I could respond with words so I just go back to not making any and start with sounds. I heard her sigh as she grabbed my waist as I exploded back and fell on the couch my cheeks and ears turning red.

"Wait!" Sakura looked strangely at me before I just forcibly got my shirts off as she laid her hands on my hurting chest causing me to let out a grunt in pain before I saw her hands turn green and I start to see the red marks of the kick start turning back to my natural skin color. Sakura then stepped back and examined me again looking me up and down. "You look good." I blush at that and I turn around and put on my shirt hoping she didn't see my face…. Huh what's wrong with me why am I feeling this way.

"Here Kakashi-Sensei is awake now so you should go see him right now he's talking with Naru. I nodded at her and took the water bottle and drinker a swig of the water. I saw Sakura run upstairs as I look where she left the room.

A knock from the door came as Tsunami walked over to the door "Coming!" She almost opened the door until I stopped her and shushed her as I grab a kunai from my pouch and I open the door haphazardly to open it to see a face I'd rather not see it was Shikamaru Nara.

"Shikamaru" POV

Knocking on the door in front of the others as I heard a "I'm Coming!" Until she was silenced probably Sasuke or Kakashi-Sensei and the door opened to my first guess it was Sasuke.

"Hey Sasuke you holding down the fort." I offered a wave at him but he only responded by his gaze narrowing and a "Hn" to add. 'Right because I can understand someone grunt oh how cool are you…" not very…obviously.

I hear some footsteps rushing down what seems to be a flight of stairs as Sakura jogs down the stairs with her kunai in hand ready to strike but stops upon she sees me and Ino. "Shikamaru-Kun and Ino are you guys the reinforcements Kakashi-Sensei called for." I smiled at her giving her a thumbs up as I saw Sasuke's stern gaze turn into a full glare hoping to shatter me in a millions pieces.

"Team 10 at your service." Asuma-Sensei said as he had out his Cigarette until Tsunami looked at him.

"I'm sorry Shinobi-San but there is no smoking in this house hold and if you want to smoke could you do it outside…" she asked as she closed her eyes trying not to see his reaction as she expected outrage but the opposite and sadness came out of the man as he pulls the cartridge of cigarette's and puts the one he got back inside the carton.

"Couldn't there be another team sent instead of you." I looked extremely offended at that what the hell man I thought we were on the same side man!

"Well no as the Hokage got the message when we went to get a Mission on our own and ouch that hurt." I grabbed my heart as Sasuke scoffed at me.

"Sasuke there here to help let them inside." Sakura moved closer as she laid a hand on his shoulder as he looked back to see her face close to his. He nodded dumbly and got out of the way of us and we made our way inside as I dropped my bag onto the nearby sofa.

"Hey Sakura are you okay." I asked I had my worries on what could or would have happened since my intervention but as I look upon her she seemed fine.

"Oh I'm fine the main damage done is Kakashi-Sensei's Chakra depletion and for a Jonin his Chakra Reserves I thought would be more impressive." Sakura raised her finger to her chin.

"Well it says that Kakashi might have below average Chakra for a Jonin is Chakra control is above a Jonin level." It's true and it's one of the main things that hurt Kakashi-Sensei is his relative weak reserves because of the Sharingan. If he could turn it on and off not only would his Chakra be not always on but his depth perception would be back to the fullest it having ti wear his mask and headband over his left eye.

"He's upstairs here let me show you he's up by the way." Me and Asuma-Sensei walked upstairs barefoot as Tsunami also said no shoes or sandals in the home and that reminds me that maybe are there ninja shoes I mean it sounds stupid but I want shoes my toes get cold here.

We open the door to see Kakashi sitting up reading Icha Icha Violence as Naruto himself wasn't in the room probably in another room. "Kakashi-Sensei the first thing you do is read after having a deadly battle huh." I gave him a exasperated look as he gave us a eye smile upon seeing us.

"Ooh are you guys are our Back up I guess we're fine now." Kakashi returned back to his book as I stepped further into the room and sat down leaning on the wall as I started to grab my book.

"Ah how much further are you at Shikamaru." Kakashi-Sensei's eyes never left his book as mine didn't either.

"Wait! Before I ask about you Shikamaru-Kun what do you mean 'Fine' that Hunter Nin killed Killed Zabuza didn't they." Sakura asked the silver haired man with gravity defying hair as he looked at her from his book.

"Oh Zabuza's alive." I take it 10 Seconds until she explodes

"You guys fought Zabuza Momochi…like Swordsman of the Mist one of seven." Asuma-Sensei asked wearily and Kakashi-Sensei nodded.

"Right and now that we have two Jonin level Ninja and 6 genin's we could overwhelm them with numbers." I asked as Kakashi-Sensei looked at me and nodded at my quick thinking.

"How did you guys even get to Wave Gato is almost in complete control of Wave." Kakashi-Sensei let his wonder at us and I just chuckled and rubbed the bottom of my nose as Asuma-Sensei looked proudly.

"We-" Asuma-Sensei was cut off by a scream.

"WHAT!" Sakura screamed as more rapid footsteps are heard as both of the teams missing genin file into the room.

"Sara-Chan is something happening." Naruto looked at Sakura then at the appearance of the other team.

"Ahh when did you guys get here!" Naruto Pointed at me as my eyebrows rose at the proclamation.

"What am I not wanted here or something. First it's Sasuke and now it's You what the hell." I looked from my book at him as he glared at me. If I didn't know the I could swear I hear Kakashi-Sensei giggling.

"Ohh Sakura-Chan I didn't know my apprentice was you're Boyfriend kya~" everyone stopped at that as everyone had something in there mind some different and some the same.

I looked at Kakashi-Sensei and gave him a dirty dry look as I could see his stupid face in a huge smile that prick!

"H-He's Not My BoyFriend!" Sakura yelled as she looked utterly flushed.

"Sakura." We all looked at the dark voice and it was Sasuke with his Sharingan he had two tomoe in both eyes as he stared me down and I just stared blankly as Naruto was next to him as he glared at me with intense hatred.

"The hell did I do!" I try to make sense of the situation but even more chaos is brought upon by my own team.

"Ugh that's funny Kakashi because Shikamaru isn't your apprentice actually he's my student and congrats on getting a girlfriend you stud." I glared at Asuma-Sensei with more increasing hatred. "Like Hell!"

Ino pouted and gave me a mean look and a glare and Choji was just surprised over the thing and even stopped eating his newly opened chip bag.

I just decide to read my book and tune everything out uhh it would only hurt my head even more than it does because of you Kakashi-Sensei you actual bastard.

Time passed as Kakashi-Sensei phased out everything as well. Hmm well it might be good to see if they could get it. "Oi Kakashi-Sensei." I broke him out of his book as he looked at me.

"Do Sasuke and Naruto know the Tree Walking Exercise." Kakashi-Sensei though himself was already thinking of teaching them.

"I was about to bring that up to them so could you help with that." Kakashi-Sensei let a smile encapsulated in his eye as I stood up.

"You stay here and get some rest I'll handle there Training with a Asuma-Sensei who I think is outside already." Kakashi-Sensei nodded and left the room.

"Sasuke, Naruto." I got there attention as I left the room after everyone themselves left earlier. They were on the couch next to Sakura who was talking with Ino. They turned there heads to me with a annoyed look on both there faces.

"We're training." Both of there eyebrows raise and Ino and Sakura looked at me as they tilted there heads. I gestured to come outside as I open the door and see Asuma-Sensei smoking and Choji who was accompanying him and they turned to see me walk out followed by Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura and Ino.

"Oh is something going on." Asuma-Sensei let out a puff of his cigarette and Choji munched on another chip.

"We're teaching them how to climb trees." Sasuke and Naruto raised there eyebrows in confusion.

"I already know how to claim trees a I'm not 5!" Naruto said outraged and Sasuke silently agreed with the loud blond boy. I sighed as i gestured to Sakura to give an example and she ran straight towards the tree and started to run up the tree.

"W-What" Naruto said Shocked and Sasuke was no better as he looked at her.

"You climb the tree without your hands with Chakra and judging by your reaction I guess you guys didn't know that so that is what you two are working on."

"What do you mean only us do you guys all know this." Silence ensued at the proclamation Naruto made and at that Sasuke glares at me and I turn my head.
