With the war going badly for Saunders, strikes and demonstrations were beginning to take place. All Saunders needed was one disaster to push it over the edge and that was going to come from an unlikely source, a handsome priest.
The next morning, the said priest was marching with hundreds of other disgruntled workers to Saunders, but this wasn't some violent uprising, it was a peaceful protest. They just wanted to deliver a petition to Kay as they weren't asking for much. In fact, the protest was so peaceful and respectful that Fumie thought of it as a big waste of time.
"Lame." Fumie told Alexandra. Alexandra nodded when they heard the news.
Lyova was approaching Kay as he wanted to give her the news about what was going on.
"Hey Kay, some priest is leading a peaceful protest. It says here they want to give you a petition." Lyova began as the wind was blowing of the priest leading the protest. Kay began to panic a bit.
"A peaceful petitioning priest… I BETTER GET OUT OF HERE!" Kay shouted as she didn't know what this priest was going to do. She was ready to flee and get out of the school. She turned to Lyova with new orders. "Get me out of here and bring a truckload of troops to stop this priest from getting into the school." Kay told Lyova with the order to put down the protest before it took shape. Lyova knew he didn't like where this was going to go.
Kay got her truck load of troops as they were all guarding the entrance to stop the priest from entering. The priest had hundreds of workers behind him, and they had all gathered around to see what they had to say. The guards remained tense like an iron wall as the priest walked up and began speaking.
"Hello good sir and long live the czar. Please allow us to pass this simple petition for our dear father Nicholas II." The priest began. He handed the list to the guards and the guards began to read it over.
• An 8-hour day and freedom to organize trade unions.
• Improved working conditions, free medical aid, higher wages for women workers.
• Elections to be held for a constituent assembly by universal, equal and secret suffrage.
• Freedom of Speech, press, association and religion.
• An end to the war with Chi-Ha-Tan.
P.S. We love you.
The guard then handed the paper back over to the priest before he began speaking.
"Good day to you too." The guard began. "Please. Allow us to respond…" He began, then all of the Berdan rifles pointed down at the protesters. "By opening fire." The rifles then fired as the workers had been shot up. The crowd began to panic as they reloaded and fired off more rounds. More workers were torn down as the priest had his arms wide open trying to call for God to shield him from the incoming pellets, but he was not there, the priest was eventually shot up as he collapsed from the plastic pellets hitting his body.
What began as a peaceful protest had ended in tragedy. Many workers had been shot up even though they asked for Kay to improve their lives. Instead, they were met with BB's. Kay didn't order the troops to fire on the crowd, but she got the blame. This had a drastic effect on the population. Strikes intensified, and the worst was yet to come.
Baku district was the district that had the most potential in terms of industrial might. It was where the school produced their synthetic oil to be used domestically and to also be sold abroad for cash. All of that oil was sitting in huge dams while everyone was living in their small houses. Students and workers from all over came to tear down what Saunders had built up. They were armed with anything they could get their hands on. Katyusha was the one leading her group.
"Okay our job here is to rob the bank and get away with as much money as we can. Everyone else is going to tear this pitiful settlement down so we can have something for ourselves." Katyusha began. She turned to see that much of Baku was getting attacked by angry workers. Katyusha and her group dashed out.
Aside from being mauled by angry workers, much of this part of the ship was also being set on fire. Every oil storage tank, every synthetic oil making facility and the houses were being set on fire. Katyusha looked ahead to see the bank had been spared so far. They needed to get in and get out with as much loot as possible. She pulled out her Nagant revolver and she was ready to break into the bank. One of the students grabbed a molotov cocktail and lit the rag of the bottle. She then threw the cocktail at the door of the bank, setting it ablaze in one area. The workers of the bank rushed out to try to put out the fire, but Katyusha got out the revolver and fired two plastic pellets at the workers of the bank, knocking them both out. The others rushed into the bank to break open the safes and take as much money as they could. A couple stood guard as Katyusha went into the bank to see what there was to loot.
"Anything good?" Katyusha asked. Her friends blew the door open to the vault and they ran inside to find whatever goods there were. There was lots of money in this bank in particular. Katyusha got out the duffle bag and began piling as much of the money into the bag as possible. Her friends were waiting at the entrance, ready to intercept anyone that was coming to stop them. Katyusha made the effort to fill the duffle bag up to the brim with money. Once done, she zippered it up and they began to make a hasty retreat from there. The bank fire was only getting worse while the Pravda girls fled the scene. Then the unthinkable happened.
An artificial dam holding liquid oil back had been opened, and the oil flooded the streets. Several people lay on the ground as the tinder from the burning buildings fell on the oil, this had the nasty effect of setting it on fire. Now rivers of literal fire were engulfing Baku while its residents were murdering each other in the streets. This was one of many conflicts that was ravaging the school.
The next morning. Kay was looking over everything with Lyova while trying to assess the situation that happened last night. They had sent in their student army to break up the chaos that was going on, but it was climbing higher and higher as the days went by.
"Baku has been burned down due to rivers of fire. Thirteen people have been reported dead. We lost about three million Yen from the banks. All the workers are going on strike as they want better working conditions. Chi-Ha-Tan has been curb stomping our army into dust. And it's only getting worse." Lyova began. Kay opened another can of coke and she began to drink it.
"If it's freedom to tear down the old ways, I'll allow it." Kay told Lyova as she began drinking the bottle. Lyova knew he had to be strict with her.
"Kay? Don't you care about anything at all? You're proving that you're a terrible leader for Saunders. People are murdering each other and burning everything. We need to restore order to the school or more damage will be done." Lyova tried his best to explain to Kay that they needed to fix everything wrong with the school as fast as they could, or they could risk having the school close down. The doors then opened to see one of the students beginning to speak.
"Listen, Kay. Peasants seizing my land and murdering my family, I can tolerate, but illegally chopping my wood? That's obscene!" One of the students began. A factory owner also came in to make his case.
"And the worse I treat my workers, the MORE they strike! I don't get it…" He began. Kay knew she needed to calm them all down and began to speak.
"Everyone, relax. As long as the student army is still on my side, there's nothing to worry about." Kay tried to get them to relax. Lyova however, had some bad news to Kay's claim that the army was still on her side.
"Kay, I got some bad news, the sailors are starting to mutiny. They want another Battleship Potemkin." Lyova told Kay about the fact that even the sailors were starting to go against her. Kay was livid.
"Well, my life just SUCKS!" Kay shouted as she didn't know how this was going to get worse. Lyova decided to explain to Kay.
"Well with Saunders still losing to Chi-Ha-Tan. Unrest is growing internally which is causing some of the students to rebel and arrest their leaders. Having your citizens against you is bad enough but if the student army joins in and sides with the citizens, it'll be game over." Lyova did his best to explain to Kay that they needed to figure out a solution on how they could quell the uprising. "To make matters worse, students including this one Pravda High School girl named Shinobu Gouri has been setting up locally elected councils called "Sovetskikhs." that are coordinating strikes and supplying the workers."
"So, we're screwed?" Kay asked as she didn't know what they were going to do. Lyova stepped back as he began to think about it. They needed something to save the school, but they needed to be able to find a way to be able to fix everything.
"For the moment, we need to think on how we can save the school." Lyova stepped away as he went into the room to his left and began to think about what exactly to think.
"I got no ideas, any ideas?" Kay asked.
Megumi had fled the war and sought shelter with her friend. She and her friends were walking down the garden walk away and they were discussing the matters at hand.
"So, Alexandra is staying with Nonna?" Megumi asked if this was going to be true. Tatiana nodded.
"Yes. It is. After she recovered, she decided to pack her bags and leave." Tatiana [R] explained to Megumi what exactly had happened. The two of them were walking along a snow-covered path while trying to figure out how they were going to go forward on this.
"I just hope that Alexandra is doing okay wherever she is." Megumi prayed to Tatiana that her friend was going to be doing fine if she was with Nonna.
"I'll give her a call later while we get back to the palace." Tatiana [R] told Megumi. Alexei and his donkey Vanka came trudging up the snow path as he had agreed to meet them. "Right on time, I guess you had to get Vanka ready to take us back?"
"Yep. Vanka is a good donkey. I bet papa would be excited to see you Megumi." Alexei told Megumi. Megumi and Tatiana got on the cart and they began to make their way back to where they were going to live.
"How are you doing yourself tsarevich?" Megumi asked Alexei. Alexei began to speak.
"I'm in good health. It has been a while since we ended up talking in person. I mean between the three of us." Alexei told Megumi. Megumi nodded with approval as she decided to speak again.
"I haven't really seen your father in a long while, the only time I got to see him was when the academic year began. I hope he's okay." Megumi told Alexei while they went galloping along in the snow with the donkey and the cart. The three of them pulled up to the palace-like building where the principal of said school was residing. The principal of said school spotted them and began to approach them.
"Megumi, it's been a long while since we last saw you." Nicholas greeted her warmly while Megumi shook his hand.
"Nice to see you too." Megumi told Nicholas. His wife came over while she was having a hard time getting around. "Is that your wife?" Megumi asked.
"My beautiful wife Alix. We've been together for about the past twenty-four years. I love her." Nicholas introduced her to Megumi. Megumi shook Alix's hand before he began to speak again. "So, what did you come all the way over here for?" Nicholas asked Megumi for the reason to visit.
"I came here to get away from Saunders as there is a war between us and Chi-Ha-Tan over Manchuria and I stepped down from my position. I came here to visit you as you seem to be the only source of comfort during these turbulent times." Megumi explained to Nicholas why she was going to stay with them. Nicholas began to think about it for a moment before he decided on one thing.
"Come on in but don't disturb Olga as she is getting ready for a piano recital. We have guests over." Nicholas told Megumi that she was free to stay but she wasn't allowed to disturb the eldest of the four daughters while she was preparing.
"Oh guests. I didn't know about them." Megumi told Nicholas while she walked in. Alix nodded.
"You're more than welcome to make yourself a home. Should I get you anything like a towel for your feet? Some cabbage soup? Maybe a blanket?" Alix asked while she was trying her best to make Megumi feel comfortable.
"Maybe someplace where I can rest for the night?" Megumi told Alix that she had nowhere to sleep.
"Sure. I think Alexei would make you feel more at home with him while you get adjusted." Alix told Megumi that she would be sharing a cot with her youngest child. Some of the guests were looking around when they spotted Megumi and they were curious. Who was she? She must've been a Saunders student but why was she here? Megumi thought nothing of this while she continued to follow Alexei who went off in an unexpected direction to grab something. Maria approached Megumi, Tatiana and Alix. Nicholas also went off to greet some of the guests.
"Megumi, I see you're back and walking normally." Maria [R] greeted her. She was glad Megumi was back to her old self.
"I am, though I still have a bit of a limp." Megumi replied. Maria shook Megumi's hand while Maria was more than happy to see Megumi for the first time in what seemed to be a while.
"It will get better, I promise you." Maria [R] told Megumi that the limp would only linger on for a few more days before she would be walking properly. Tatiana walked over as she was carrying a pillow.
"Need something to sit on?" Tatiana [R] asked Megumi if she would like to sit on a pillow. Megumi began to think about it for a moment before she began to speak.
"I'm fine but, thank you." Megumi told them. Nicholas approached them before he took a seat next to Megumi.
"I haven't seen you in a long while. I guess you came here over the fact that you aren't happy, and I could understand." Nicholas began.
"I know Nicky. Ever since Kay took over, the place is a miserable wreck, it seems everything we had at the beginning of the year has vanished into thin air. All the elegance, music and timelessness had seemed to be gone and replaced by what seemed to be a mix of violence, fear and hatred for the old ways.
"I know Alexei was pretty upset about it when we learned that we were all barred from visiting you. A good thing you came to us, but you didn't tell us why." Nicholas told Megumi that her visit was unexpected but a welcomed one. Megumi smiled a bit. "How are Azumi and Rumi? Did you make the alliance as of yet?"
"We did though it was my friend Alexandra who took over for me when I was injured." Megumi did her best to explain what had happened.
"Sorry to hear that. I had gotten the message that Alexei was away for many days. When he came back, he told us about how you had your legs shattered by a bomb. I prayed for your health." Nicholas admitted that he heard all about it from his son.
"Thanks Nicky." Megumi told Nicholas. The crowd had gathered as Alexei was walking out with Olga, he was carrying his Balalaika in one hand and Olga's hand in the other. He helped his sister to the piano while he sat down next to her. Alexei began first as he strummed the instrument to get the audience's attention. Everyone turned their heads to him while Olga began to fill them out with the piano. Anastasia sat next to Megumi as Tatiana began to whisper to her.
"Are you enjoying the opening so far?" Tatiana [R] whispered to Megumi. Megumi nodded as they continued to watch them play. "I bet this would be something you would like to do one day?"
"If I had a talent other than leading." Megumi whispered back. She didn't want to seem to be rude during something like this.
"Creative talent is found on the inside. I think you have yet to awaken yours as of yet." Tatiana [R] whispered to Megumi that her talents were on the inside and not the outside. Megumi blushed at the notion of this before she began to think. Creative talent was on the inside, close to the heart but it needed the brain in order to function. She didn't know how to respond to this and instead decided to think it over. The piece was finished as Alexei got up to put his instrument aside. Olga decided to continue playing the piano.
"Hey Alexei?" Megumi began. The tsarevich turned his head to Megumi as she was beginning to speak to him.
"Yes Megumi?" Alexei asked Megumi.
"Can I…" Megumi began to think of what to say next. She thought of something now and decided to speak. "See your room?" Megumi finally asked. Alexei looked at Megumi while the crowd was hanging out and listening to the music.
"Sure thing. I promise you, didn't I?" Alexei asked. Megumi nodded. They both got up and they turned to Alix. "I'm going to show where Megumi will be sleeping." Alexei told her. Alix nodded and looked at them with a smile.
"Okay you do that." Alix told her son. Megumi and Alexei began to walk off together while they needed to talk about something. Megumi had agreed to spend the next night or two with her friend but there was something on her mind.
"Hey Alexei, can I talk to you about something?" Megumi began.
"Sure… what is it?" Alexei asked nervously. Megumi began to think about the topic that she was going to speak about before turning to Alexei.
"I wanted to say is that while I was at war with Chi-Ha-Tan I was thinking about you and your family and I thought something bad was going to happen, everyone would be celebrating as if an angel had come down onto the earth but the angel was bleeding and can't stop the flow of blood." Megumi began. She had a vision of the bleeding angel that was born during the time of the war. Alexei bowed his head down almost as if he was hiding secrets of his own.
"Megumi, I think you've exposed something dark about what exactly happens in those first few precious moments of life. You see when I was born thirteen or something years ago, my family erupted with celebration that I was their son. Everyone came over to see what seemed to be a miracle then it was found out that the blessing was a curse, Alix recalled that I can't stop bleeding and I was slowly dying. For me, there might be no tomorrow when I was just a few days old. Eventually it stopped and my recovery was in the school newspapers along with war." Alexei explained what she was talking about. Megumi began to think of what the tsarevich had just said. Was he the bleeding angel that she mentioned before? She didn't think of it.
"So, the angel, is you?" Megumi asked.
"Yeah, that's the possibility. I always turn to mama and ask why I was in bed for weeks on end. I asked why God hadn't scooped me up into his arms and brought me into the sky and my suffering would have ended. She said that God wasn't ready for that yet and he put me on the earth to help inherit my father's interests and help continue the bloodline. I nod and papa would come in to reassure me that I was going to be okay. I nodded before heading back to sleep. When I was in bed, there was an immense amount of dread almost if the building had fallen silent but when I was up and well, the entire house would be alive. I love my family, pets and friends, and I don't want that to be taken away from me when the time comes but when that time comes, we will be old, and our descendants will have inherited a world a lot more advanced and possibly happier than the one we're living in." Alexei would ramble on with some hope for the future ahead. Megumi seemed to have taken interest.
"So, the entire house is happy whenever you're walking with me?" Megumi asked Alexei if this was true.
"Yep. Family thinks so too." Alexei responded. He approached the door and opened it. It was his room. Megumi entered first as Alexei followed behind her. The room was average sized, but everything was neatly put together with Alexei having many toys he collected growing up. Megumi was astonished, stuff big and small were arranged neatly with two shelves of books, neatly organized along with everything else.
"This room is so nice." Megumi began. Joy was sleeping in his bed right near the closet.
"Everything I arranged myself." Alexei began. He slowly walked through the room as if he had built everything himself. Megumi looked around. He was tidy for sure. She looked to her right to see the cot he was often sleeping on. Inside was the giant stuffed bear that he would have by his side. Megumi was wondering where she was going to sleep in a place like this.
"Where will I sleep in this room? Alix told me we were sharing." Megumi began. She didn't know if there was going to be a bed for her. Alexei smiled before he began speaking.
"I'll get you an air mattress and you can sleep on that. Want me to get you some blankets and pillows too?" He asked. Megumi looked at him before she began speaking again.
"Sure thing. I think you're willing to make me feel comfortable?" Megumi asked if Alexei was going to do everything he could if Megumi was going to enjoy herself.
"I will try my best." Alexei told Megumi. Megumi laughed for a bit.
"Very good. Now…" Megumi paused before she looked around and spotted the stuffed bear that Alexei had on his cot. She was curious about it. "Who gave you that?" Megumi asked.
"Principal Wilhelm II when he came to visit, it was a get-well gift when he found out I had been injured in the joints about a few years ago and I was confined to my bed." Alexei explained where he got the bear from. Megumi nodded.
"Nice. I bet your father would miss Rumi and Azumi, my closest friends." Megumi sighed while she enjoyed chatting with the tsarevich.
"Want me to invite them over?" Alexei would ask. Megumi began to think about it before turning her head to him.
"I'm fine but thank you for asking." Megumi told him. The door knocked as Alexei got up to see who it was. He opened it and spotted Alix coming in with a container.
"Papa agreed we should use the blow-up mattress to let Megumi sleep on. We don't know how long she will stay for, but we think it would be a good idea to make her feel like she's at home." Alix explained that they should get her setup if she was going to sleep there. Megumi nodded.
"Thank you so much Alix. I will take your kindness as an invitation." Megumi would bow kindly to her as Alix looked on.
"Anything for a dear. Nicholas said dinner is ready for you two, come join us." Alix happily told them. She began to walk away as Joy got up to follow them. Alexei held the door for Megumi before she left the room and Alexei followed.
Megumi had left the school to seek peace, but it was Lyova that was going to fix all of the problems.
[A/N]: The first half of the revolution has been posted and this is the first revolution out of three that will be presented, and the second half would be the falling out and the fixing of the problems that Saunders is currently facing. After this, I'm not sure where this is going to go, probably more alliance building and some more small-scale wars until the big event will show up. See you later.
Let's see if we can hit 100k words before the end of the month?
