Kay was sitting around in her office the next day as she was still reading over the reports of what had happened, Baku had been burned to the ground, worker strikes had grown out of control, the liberals wanted reform and the people were demanding land. Lyova entered the room carrying a stack of papers, he had the best idea when he went to go think last night. He had bags under his eyes as he had probably spent much of last night typing away and he looked like he hadn't got any sleep.
"Kay." Lyova huffed. He began speaking to her. "I have the best idea on how we can solve the revolution." Lyova began. Kay was curious and wanted to see what it was.
"What's the idea?" Kay asked. "It better be good so it can explain your lack of sleep."
"I've been thinking about the revolution and I thought we were screwed. But, I have an idea on how we can save the school." Lyova began. "You see, all of these angry groups of people I learned aren't really working together meaning there is a weakness we can exploit. I have spent all night typing a manifesto which will give students like Himari and Yuri an elected assembly called the DUMA. Can Saunders please have an elected assembly?" Lyova asked Kay if this was going to be possible.
"No." Kay told Lyova that she didn't want one.
"I'll promise I won't interfere with your business afterward." Lyova told Kay. Kay began to think about it for a moment while trying to think of how to proceed with it. If it meant that she had to give up power for a couple of days and share it to help quell the revolution, then she had to do it.
"Okay." Kay sighed. If this was going to be a minor setback for her, she had to accept. She got a pen and signed her name into it. Lyova nodded happily before he turned and began walking off. Now Kay decided to go bring this up to her so called friends. But before she could do that, she got a call from the phone as it began to ring. She went over to pick it up. "Hello?"
"Hey Kay, this is your friend Alice here, and I got a message from Tsutsuji, and she wishes to speak to you about a possible peace treaty." Baby Lee began talking to her. Kay was listening. Was she able to pummel Chi-Ha-Tan into submission? She had many internal problems brought on by this war and needed a way out. "Did we win in the end?"
"No. Chi-Ha-Tan had won every battle they threw themselves into." Baby Lee explained the results of the battle. "We're coming over later today to discuss the possible treaty for peace between the two schools." Kay sighed, they had lost the war and now her reputation seemed to be ruined. With no way out however, she knew she had to accept.
"Okay let me know when you're coming over." Kay told her.
"I should be here with Tsutsuji within the hour. We should hopefully resolve this peacefully." Baby Lee told Kay that she better get herself prepared. Kay nodded before hanging up. Tsutsuji really wanted her to make peace.
The hour would come as Alice and Tsutsuji approached Kay while she was waiting in her office. Kay heard the knocking on the door before she opened it. Lyova was watching from the other room as he was wondering how Kay was going to handle this.
"Come in." Kay told them. The door swung open to reveal Alice and Tsutsuji walking into the building. Kay looked at them whom she felt suspicious about. "You're going to be settling the peace?" Kay asked them in a bit of a cold manner.
"We are. We would like to make a few demands since we are the winners of this." Tsutsuji began. Kay began to think about it while Tsutsuji began to make her demands. Alice was watching this in her attempt to break things up in case things went haywire. "Okay we require you to leave the Yellow Sea in twenty-four hours as you no longer have control there. We also wish to claim ownership of Port Arthur. If you do, then you won't have to pay any reparations." Tsutsuji explained if Saunders just packed up and left, they didn't need to pay anything, and they could leave the Yellow Sea for free. Kay began to think about this as she knew that she couldn't do anything other than accept plus Tsutsuji's demands were pretty lenient to say the least.
"Okay, then it's a deal." Kay told Tsutsuji. Kay then signed the paper with her paper, and this meant an end to a short-lived venture. Alice took the paper back before she turned and began speaking to Kay.
"Well looks like Tsutsuji got her Port Arthur plus she's giving you a day to leave. Might as well do it. And while you do, I'm off to see my father Theodore win his Nobel peace prize. See ya around buckaroo." Baby Lee explained before she got up and left Tsutsuji followed behind and now Kay had her best fighting students back in her hands and now, she could turn to putting down the strikes that were going on.
With the political situation resolved and after ending the war with Chi-Ha-Tan. Kay brought thousands of students home who dismantled the Sovetskikhs, arrested their leaders and crushed the peasant uprisings. With that said, Kay decided to turn her matters back to what Lyova had decided to make from the manifesto he had published.
It was later that day that Kay decided to undo what Lyova had made. Lola was busy writing as she spotted bottle after bottle of Cola on her desk as she had decided to drink.
"How many bottles did you drink today?" Lola asked Kay if she had any idea how much she was drinking at once.
"This is bottle number four. This stuff is good." Kay told Lola. Lola went over as she didn't like what Kay was doing. The first year was ready to come to blows with her commander.
"You shouldn't be drinking all of this soda at once. You know how much sugar you're putting into your body. Might as well end up losing your limbs." Lola warned Kay that she better not be chugging it all down.
"So, this isn't going to affect me." Kay began in an arrogant manner. She didn't really care about it while Lola was thinking about what to say to her next. Afterward. She began to speak.
"I'm going to write a warning label on all of the coke bottles to curb the drinking, everyone is drinking it and the few that aren't are resisting about consuming your death salt beverage." Lola told Kay that certain people didn't want to be consuming this extremely sugary drink. Kay was drinking her bottle and she looked at her.
"Everyone is still going to drink it." Kay told Lola. Lola knew this was a risk she was willing to take if she was going to be able to uphold the beliefs of change. She walked away from this, and she began to head to her typewriter. Kay knew she needed to bring Megumi back to the fold.
An hour would go by as Megumi had packed her things and was now saying goodbye. She was being brought back.
"We hope you enjoyed your stay." Nicholas began as he and his family were bidding her goodbye. Megumi looked at them and she began to speak.
"I'll miss you all and it was a pleasure staying with you." Megumi told them. Alexei, Anastasia and Tatiana walked forward, and they bowed to Megumi.
"We hope you come back; you were a joy staying here." Alexei told Megumi. "Take care." He told her. Megumi nodded before she turned and began to walk away. The family was waving goodbye after Megumi had stayed with them for a couple of days. Hopefully she could bring the family back into the group and hopefully apply some positive changes to the school. She looked back one more time before getting on the bus. They were waving to say goodbye to her and now she needed to return and begin making some changes to the school.
Kay was writing what she wanted for the school in the light of this revolution and her changes were being taken from the priest's words, some of these included free speech and the press but she decided to only change the working conditions slightly to make sure the entrepreneurs would benefit and only them. She was also making a bunch of new laws as well. Then the message went to her, and it began to print out. Kay grabbed the message and began to read it. It was from Lola.
Soda is a poison, harmful to the soul and body, therefore it is a great sin to drink Soda and to offer it to others, and it is an even greater sin to produce and sell this poison.
This was the warning label that Lola had written and more importantly wanted to be printed onto every bottle and can of soda to prevent those from consuming it. Kay knew that Lola was acting as an obstacle to prevent Saunders from being what it should be. Kay knew she needed to eliminate any competition that she would consider a threat to her ideal school. She got out a big red marker and wrote a giant X mark on it. She was refusing this warning label to be printed onto the bottle. She grabbed the microphone, and she began to speak.
"Someone arrest Lola please." She began. She went over to the fridge and grabbed a bag of chips and decided to have a snack of them. Kay began looking at the changes that the new DUMA wanted to add as they wanted to be the ones to make the laws without Kay's approval. She grabbed her red marker and began to cross them out.
Megumi would arrive an hour later, and she decided to head around the ship while it was licking its wounds from the revolution that tried to bring it down. This revolution had mostly failed and many of the students were being arrested and tried for partaking in it. Megumi walked forward as two of the policemen were dragging someone off.
"Please hear me out. If Kay is making these changes, there has to be some limit to see what could be tolerated or not. We need a filter on society so it doesn't tear itself apart and with all of the things Kay is applying, we can see the end within a year." Lola began as she was being escorted in handcuffs. Megumi looked at them as if she wanted to say what was going on.
"Excuse me officers, but why is Lola getting arrested?" Megumi asked them if there was a reason, they were taking her away.
"She said that soda should be considered poison and told us that we had to arrest her." One of the officers had said. Megumi began to think that this arrest was making no sense. She knew she had to ask the officers if this was correct.
"Lola hadn't done anything terribly wrong like robbing banks or murdering people. Why would you want to arrest her when there are real criminals to go after?" Megumi asked the policemen if they should be going after actual criminals rather than Lola. "Lola had just written a warning label and you decided to arrest her against her own will. What in the word of fairness should this be allowed?" The two policemen decided to think about it as they realized something. Maybe this was unfair, and they were just arresting an innocent girl against her own free will because Kay wasn't happy.
"Oh yeah." One of them began while he scratched his chin. "You're right. Get the keys." He said, within a couple of minutes, Lola was freed from being taken to prison as Megumi had negotiated with the police to let her go. Megumi looked at them before she began speaking again.
"Go find real criminals, don't arrest those making petty arguments against Kay." Megumi told the policemen to do their job. They nodded before they hopped back into their car and drove away. Lola looked at Megumi as she began to speak.
"Thanks for helping me out there." Lola began. She was straightening her puffy black hair out while she was thinking about it. "I didn't know what I was going to do against Kay, I just wanted to make a warning label on all the soda bottles and cans to reduce the amount of consumption, so these poor students don't have health related problems as young adults. Can we see if we can try getting its consumption down?" Lola asked while she tried to think of ways to help improve their lives without any disastrous consequences. Megumi began to think about it before she decided to ask about it.
"Does it involve any sort of corruption to fill our pockets?" Megumi asked. "We should try avoiding that."
"We'll try our best not to be corrupt. I have no intention of filling my own pockets." Lola told Megumi that any level of corruption she wasn't interested in. "But now I feel like my career is going to take a serious hit as Kay is going to do everything, she can to make sure I don't exist."
"I'll keep you in hiding for the time being. I'll get some of the copies to be made in the other schools so your word will get out there, but you cannot write anything for the time being while you're in hiding. If you do, Kay will find out about you, and we have to repeat what we just did." Megumi explained that she was going to hide Lola for the time being and she needed to lay low until the situation came and she could be relocated. Lola nodded before she began to think about what she was going to do.
"Where will I be going anyway?" Lola asked if she was going to be relocated.
"We'll figure out something later though for now, you're going to my dorm." Megumi told Lola that they will be heading to their dorm and trying to figure out what they were going to do next.
"Okay." Lola sighed. Megumi laughed a bit.
"Just to make sure a friend like you can be safe from any form of harm." Megumi told her as they began to walk back to their dorms.
Megumi's return began a ripple effect in the school, she was now making a list of demands to Kay to bring back, remove and change to make sure the school could function the way it was before Kay had taken over. Megumi was busy writing the new laws before the list began to come on through.
Kay, you need to implement these reforms to make the school functioning the way it was, or this school continues to get worse in terms of quality. Here are some of the ideas on what we should do:
• Expel foreign companies from Saunders that end up hurting the people. (Fast food chains, sugary products, ETC)
• Taxes on sugar and meat to decrease overall consumption of said food to improve the lives of the people.
• Have the police go after criminals if the crime is serious and not petty.
• Bring back the cavalry classes and club.
• Better working conditions for workers and stricter grades for classes to choose the better students.
• Reconcile the relationship with tsarevich Alexei and his family, invite them over to renew the relationship.
• BRING ALEXANDRA BACK FROM EXILE!
Kay began reading these demands over while trying to figure out how to go forward with this. These demands she wasn't a fan of. She grabbed her red marker and made a big X mark on the paper that Megumi's had made the demands of reform. She wanted to continue going down her path and she didn't want to be interrupted by all of this garbage. Then the door opened a couple moments later as Himari and Yuri walked in; they were less than pleased.
"Kay, we need to talk." Himari began.
"What's this about? Your minorities are not getting your way?" Kay asked while she placed her feet on her desk.
"More than that, where is our power to make decisions?" Himari asked Kay.
"Remember all of that?" Kay asked. Himari nodded yes. Kay smiled as she was going to show them what was going to be really the plan. "Slight change of plan. Actually, I'm going to do whatever the hell I want, and you guys are just going to shut up." Kay began. Yuri looked at her as if she was angry by all of this. Kay literally went behind Lyova's back and dissolved the DUMA shortly after it was established.
"What?! The people won't stand for this!" Yuri shouted as this was pretty ruinous on their part. They were supposed to be making the decisions and Kay had taken that power away from them.
"People? What people?!" Kay asked as she laid out the photos of the people that Kay had suppressed during the revolution. They were shocked, they were beaten and arrested en masse. Himari looked at Kay and she began speaking to her again.
"You see, this is why people don't like you." Himari told Kay. She and Yuri turned and left the room. The DUMA that Lyova had set up was pretty useless in the end and Kay still had the power and the authority to do whatever she wanted. Just like that Kay had managed to survive the revolution. However, this was going to have some far-reaching consequences for her reign going forward.
Megumi had moved Lola's remaining belongings into her room as she was trying to make her feel at home while waiting for Kay's response on what she had suggested. She really wanted her friend Alexandra to come back and take the reign with her to help steer the school back on course. The paper came back in an envelope while Megumi heard the mail had come back. She walked over and picked it up. It was for her. She knew that Kay had answered her requests to reform.
"I guess she's answered your requests." Lola began. Megumi walked back and opened the letter up. She unfolded it and she was horrified. Kay had crossed the entire thing out meaning none of these reforms were going to be implemented. She looked under the last one and she began to read what Kay had written below it. "I will not bring back that freedom hating pig as liberty, our lives and the pursuit of our own happiness will be the way forward and Alexandra was bound to remove it when she got the chance. Teaching the school of western values is the only way forward and making the students as individualistic as possible is the best way to survive." Megumi was reading it to herself and by the looks of things, Kay wasn't interested in bringing forth any sort of change the school was once known for.
Alexandra was waiting around as she had finished typing up her papers as Clementia and Nonna were chatting among themselves.
"So, we got the news about the revolution in Saunders. Did it succeed? Alexandra asked. Clementia was gathering some papers while reading them over.
"We got reports from Lisa as Kay had put the revolution to rest. It didn't go too well. Even though a large part of the school had been ravaged by the revolution, Kay had managed to recover and picked up her feet to keep going." Clementia told Alexandra of what exactly happened.
"So, the revolution has failed?" Alexandra asked. Nonna looked at Clementia before Nonna began speaking.
"Ms. Lavrienko. Papers." Nonna told Clementia that there needed to be papers to be picked up. Clementia got up and gathered the papers and she organized them.
"Yes. Yes, it did Alexandra." Clementia told Alexandra that the revolution had failed. Fumie was listening from the hallway, and she decided to open the door and decided to join the conversation.
"We tried everything we could to radicalize the people but all we were forced to do was watch as the movements failed to organize, Himari and Yuri sold out the poor and Kay outplayed us all. I am furious about this turn of events and now I feel like we have missed a great opportunity for a real revolution." Fumie explained that the revolution was an absolute disaster and none of their goals have been achieved. "From now on, the only way we can take over Saunders and change it, is with an armed revolution by the workers."
"An armed revolution? Are you sure it will work?" Alexandra asked as she didn't know if this was going to work, and it was insanely risky.
"If we can stir the pot up enough, we can quickly get the results we hope for." Fumie explained that they should go out of their way and try to achieve victory quickly. "We should strike when Saunders has its head turned if there is a war going on and they are invested in it."
"When will the war happen?" Clementia asked. Lisa then entered the room when she looked at Clementia.
"We don't know when this war will happen but it's clear the world is becoming a smaller place. The damage we have done is making businesses assess the stability of entire schools before doing business." Lisa explained what exactly was going to happen.
"Any news about Katyusha?" Alexandra asked. Katyusha busted open the door as she and her lackeys were carrying entire bags of cash.
"We robbed them, and we didn't get caught. We stole a lot… all of it for the group." Katyusha explained. She placed down the bags. Nonna walked over and unzipped the bag, inside was a lot of cash. She was excited.
"Great job Katyusha. I really love this." Nonna began with a smile.
"Thanks again Nonna, we're planning on heading back to Saunders with Fumie and Lisa will be coming back with me because we plan on kicking the school down while it's still weak and we'll pull off a big heist." Katyusha explained what was going to happen.
"Another heist, hopefully we can make off with a ton of cash." Nonna told Katyusha but Fumie wasn't entirely sure about it.
"Hey Katyusha. The Men'sinstvos aren't hot with all of this stealing, but we still need money. So, when we pull off this big heist, just do it quietly." Fumie explained that they needed more, and this bag of money wasn't enough. Katyusha began to think about it.
"Quietly? Okay, got it." Katyusha told Fumie. Fumie turned and began to walk away with Katyusha, Lisa and a couple of members. "Ekaterina, you're in charge."
"Got you." Reni told Fumie as she watched them walk off.
"Good luck." Alexandra told them as she watched them leave. Now they needed to lay low and wait for the next opportunity to start another revolution.
Kay was reading a book as a message began to come in. It was for Kay; she placed the book down and went over to pick up the message. It was Lyova and the tone sounded somber.
Kay
Due to your failures in handling the revolution and the dissolution of the DUMA, it's clear that you aren't one to listen to any of us. You continue to lounge around and say we have freedom of speech while the masses are toiling away, and you eat, and drink junk all day long. And it is with this reason that I'm stepping down from my position. The school is much better run if it was just Alexandra and Megumi. You're a complete failure. I hope your school of freedom and liberty shuts down at the end of the year. Being your friend was the biggest mistake I have made and I'm off to go work on the mainland. Your new accountant Pyotr will be arriving tomorrow morning.
Lyova Witte
Kay felt broken. Lyova had made the decision to leave Saunders and head off to find work elsewhere. He was unhappy with how the school turned out to be. Kay knew she had a lot of rebuilding to do but she knew she was free from the chains of Alexandra's accountant. How will this Pyotr hold up? Hopefully, he could help benefit the school and recover from its woes. If not, this revolution was only the beginning of events that would further spiral the school into chaos.
[A/N]: Kay's lack of competence is hurting those around her. She thinks she could be able to implement what she wants but nope, it's only going downhill for her. Lyova has decided to leave her as he felt like Kay, the one person who he tried to befriend, is not listening to him. Now this new man Pyotr is going to take Lyova's place. Will Saunders try to tow the line and move forward. The next chapter will be the answer to all of this.
Also, if I don't update for the rest of this week, don't expect an update until August. It's vacation time.
