At HeadQuarters
The Hyperjet had landed as it also needed a major cleaning.
The four Vigilants got out as Phoebe greeted them.
"Great to see you guys again. Especially you two boys. Had us worried for a minute."
"We're fine, for the most part. At least we stopped that explosion."
"Mostly." Gerald lowered his eyelids.
"My hero." Rhonda gave a kiss on Arnold's cheek.
Star Sapphire then came by. "Hey, Pheebs. Mind introducing me to your fr-" Sapphire paused as she saw something that attracted her strongly.
Sapphire soon giggled as she played with her hair. "Why, Phoebe. I didn't know you had this much of a handsome friend." Star Sapphire said as she slowly approached Arnold and touched his chest lightly. He only blushed as he had a confused look.
Rhonda had a raised eyebrow as she soon noticed how flirty Sapphire looked. Sapphire then giggled. "HEY! I don't know what your name is but-"
"Oh, but where are my manners? My name is Star. Star Sapphire." She smiled. Rhonda didn't even bother to answer as she crossed her arms.
Star Sapphire gave a flirty smirk at Arnold.
"Oh-kayyy? It's a pleasure to meet you, Star." Arnold offered his hand. "The pleasure is all mine." Sapphire winked as she shook his hand.
Rhonda lightly growled.
"I think there's one way to win him over. And I'm sure he finds me attractive." Sapphire thought as she smirked. Arnold did think she was attractive, but he was already attracted to the love of his life. Rhonda Lloyd.
"Come on, sweetie. I feel like you and I have something to take care of." Rhonda yanked on Arnold's collar as she was practically dragging him upstairs.
"Handsome man. Any idea of his relationship status?" Sapphire asked. "Uh… Isn't it obvious?" Spinelli started. "His marriage ring is under his gloves, and the woman that just walked away with him… is his wife."
Star Sapphire went wide-eyed. "Wait. That's his wife?"
"Uh, yeah?"
"Pfft. She may look cute, I will say that. But she isn't as attractive as me. And she doesn't have as curvy hips as these!" Sapphire scoffed before she walked away.
Spinelli and Gerald stood there, rather unsure what to even say. "Didn't think Arnold was really a lady's type." Gerald said. "Rock paper scissors to see who cleans the jets?"
"You're on!"
Upstairs
Star Sapphire was soon upstairs as she saw Rhonda yank Arnold by the collar.
"Quite the wife…" She said to herself.
"Rhonda! I- I can explain!" Arnold was only stumbling on his words as Rhonda glared at him.
"ZIP IT! I don't want another word from you! You hear me!" Arnold gulped nervously. He felt a lump in his throat as he didn't know what she was going to do.
"All I want is this!" Rhonda then threw herself onto Arnold and started to kiss him recklessly.
Rhonda slipped her tongue into his mouth as Arnold held her by the hips.
Star Sapphire stopped watching as she just hid in the corner she was at. She felt partly heartbroken yet she was told Arnold was already married.
Rhonda made slight moaning sounds as she tongue-kissed Arnold. She soon separated from him as she gasped for air.
"No hard feelings?" Arnold asked. "Not at all, my honeybun. Although, the only hard feeling for you right now is that cock of yours." Rhonda winked as she kissed Arnold's nose. "Rhonda!" Arnold blushed as she only giggled.
"Just know Arnold, I still love you. Ok?" Arnold felt relieved. "I love you more, sweetie." Arnold caressed her cheek.
Rhonda soon got on her feet and helped Arnold up. The two hugged after. "Hey, hun. Mind if I go down to the lair and meet with Phoebe? We have a little project going on. A surprise you might say."
"Be my guest." Rhonda smiled. "See you later, hun." She kissed his cheek. Arnold kissed her cheek as well.
Arnold was about to head to the lair before he got snagged by Star Sapphire, who had a regretful look on her face.
"Hey, Arnold. Mind if we talk for a sec?"
"Uh, sure. What's wrong?"
"Listen. I just want to apologize for what happened earlier. I didn't know that you were married. And I couldn't help myself since you're the most handsome and attractive man I've ever seen and…. I didn't mean any misunderstandings between you and your wife." Star Sapphire hung her head. "Star, don't worry about it. I know you're new around here. And it's alright, ok?" Sapphire only smiled.
"So, I guess I'll be taking my leave now?" She then asked. "Actually… If you want, maybe you could stick around with us and be part of this team?" Arnold offered. Sapphire immediately hugged Arnold. "I'd love that. I may be away from home now, but I found a new home away from home."
Arnold only smiled as he hugged her back. "Say, would you mind sharing where you came from sometime soon?"
"Not a problem." Sapphire laughed, wholeheartedly.
The two separated as Arnold headed down to the lair. While Sapphire still had some slight feelings for how cute Arnold was, she just had to maintain herself
Spinelli was sitting back in one of the chairs as she drank a soda while Gerald was cleaning off the jets.
"You missed a spot." Spinelli teased as she then laughed. Gerald only lowered his eyelids as he was about to smack her with the mop he was using.
"Hey, Pheebs!"
"Hey, Arnold! How are you feeling?"
"Better now. So, how's the progress on the QR helicopter?"
"Shouldn't take long before we have it finished!" She replied, chirpily. "Great! And how about Nadine's little surprise?"
Phoebe snapped her fingers as she smirked. Impulse brought over a little pack. "I'm so glad you're the brains of this team." Arnold smirked. "Naturally. I've been the brains since we were kids." She giggled.
"Impulse, get Nadine down here, would you?" Arnold soon asked. "Sure thing, sir. One moment."
A Couple Minutes Later
"Hey, guys! Need something?" Nadine approached the two. "Actually, we have something for you." Phoebe replied.
"Cool! What is it?"
Arnold then showed her the attachment for her. "What is that?"
"Just put it on, and you'll soon see." Nadine had a confused look.
The little circular pack was now attached to her suit. "Just press this little button on your wrist, and you'll see." Phoebe said. Nadine did as she was told and was left amazed.
Three gold spider-like legs came out as she was soon lifted from the ground.
"So, how do you like it?" Arnold asked.
"Like it? I LOVE IT!"
Arnold and Phoebe smiled at each other.
"OW!"
The three looked over at the vehicle garage area. Spinelli was rubbing her head as Gerald had smacked her with the mop.
"That'll show you." Gerald smirked.
"She did have it coming though." Phoebe said. "I think I should make those kids clean the jets together." Arnold lightly chuckled.
Olivia soon came up and hugged Arnold from behind. "Hey, Dad!" Arnold smiled. "If it isn't my second Princess. Great to see you again, Olivia!"
Hours Later
Arnold was still in the lair with Phoebe as they were working with Impulse to get the QR Helicopter ready.
"So you renamed it to the QR Jet?"
"Yup!"
"It actually does sound good. Especially since it does fit it."
Soon, their emergency response alarm went off.
"Sir, I know this may not be our usual work mostly. But I've picked up a nine-one-one call about a fire in an abandoned apartment building. I figured you should send a couple of people down there."
"Alright. Thanks, Impulse."
"Is it alright if you keep finishing the copter without me?" Arnold then asked. "Not a problem!"
"Great! Impulse, get Spinelli and Sapphire down here." Arnold then turned to Phoebe. "See you later." Arnold snuck in a friendly kiss onto Phoebe's cheek before he went to the QR Jet. Phoebe at first blushed but giggled.
Sapphire and Spinelli were both at the QR Jet shortly after.
At the Apartment Building
"Engine Fifteen to Engine Twelve…" A voice on a firefighter radio started.
The QR Jet had landed a little further away since there was barely any landing space. Arnold, Spinelli, and Star Sapphire overlooked the firefighters as they saw what was going on. Arnold motioned his head to Spinelli as if to say 'get down there'.
She activated her suit as she flew over toward the roof.
"I'm getting too old for this shit." One of the firefighters complained. "You got that right." Another one agreed.
"Well if it isn't our favorite city hero." The captain of the Ladder truck said. "Thought you boys would need a hand." Spinelli smirked as Sapphire was hovering above. She gave a friendly wave.
"And I thought the most fun thing we'd do all day is roof ventilation." One firefighter said.
Arnold was soon down with the Captain of the Engine of the same department.
"Great to see another friendly face around here." The Captain greeted.
"This is bullshit man. Should minus well let this whole dumpster burn." One of the firefighters complained.
"Stop your bitching already, Dennis! Besides, what do you have to complain about?" A female firefighter replied. "Ariel, I know your ass ain't talkin'! You were complaining about rats at our last call-out!" Dennis replied.
Sapphire merely laughed. "Rats? How were there rats?"
"It was a house fire and apparently the owners had a shit ton of mice there."
"Ray!" Ariel blushed. Spinelli laughed her ass off while Ariel lowered her eyelids. "Just stop your bitching already, Dennis! At least there's no mice here!" Ariel said.
"Yeah, yeah… Hey, Ray. How about you-" Dennis had then stepped on a piece of roofing that creaked. He looked down as he looked over at his brother, Ray.
"Ray…?" Dennis asked, worried. Ariel, Ray, Spinelli, and Sapphire all looked at Dennis, all worried.
The roofing started creaking more and more. Sapphire immediately reacted as she tried to swoop Dennis from where he was standing. But it was already too late.
The piece of roofing collapsed and Dennis fell through, the fire raged from where he had fallen. He screamed desperately, but his screaming was silenced quickly.
"DENNIS!" Ray yelled. "DENNIS!" Ray tried to reach down at the piece where the fire was burning, but Ariel held him back as she was catching minor burns. "DENNIS!" Ray yelled again. "MAN DOWN. MAN DOWN! MAN DOOOWWNN!" Ariel shouted
Arnold and the captain heard the yelling from the roof.
"MAYDAY! MAYDAY! FIREFIGHTER DOWN! I REPEAT, FIREFIGHTER DOWN!" A voice over the radio shouted.
"TOMMY! GET THE DOOR!" The captain shouted.
Tommy grabbed a pike pole as he reached to pull the door down.
The fire raged from the entrance as it was impossible for the firefighters to get in.
"Captain! Evacuate your men and activate the alarm! IT'S TOO RISKY!" Arnold told the captain. The Captain had no other choice. "Evacuate now! EVACUATE NOW AND ACTIVATE THE ALARM!"
Arnold and the Captain had to pull the two firefighters away. "It's no good, Jack! It's no good!" The captain told one of his men.
Arnold only looked at the raging fire as he knew nothing could be done.
A Few Hours Later
The QR Jet was arriving at the lair as most of the team was arguing.
Arnold walked out of the jet as he saw his entire team arguing.
"Hey! HEY!" He threw three throwing stars directly at their feet to quiet them.
"The fucks going on here? HUH?!" The entire team was dead silent. Sapphire and Spinelli were behind him.
"I come back from being with the Fire Captain to tell a mother her son is dead…! And this is going on in my house. IN MY HOUSE!" Arnold shouted. "We all deal with this by sticking together! We take it! We learn from it! And we get back on these fucking jets BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT WE DO! YOU GOT THAT?!" Most of the team hung their heads.
"Here's what I want us to do tomorrow! We're gonna attend Dennis' funeral, and honor a fallen hero. You all got that?" They all nodded.
"And I better not hear another word from ANY of you! Who's on cleaning duty?" Nobody even spoke. Arnold then looked at Gerald. "Do it." Gerald wanted to retaliate, but it was best to keep quiet.
Arnold soon walked off. Nobody even said a word as Rhonda picked up one of his throwing stars. She felt extremely bad and sorry for him. He can face the toughest of battles and is never phased, but Arnold never had to tell a parent that a child of theirs was dead. Until today.
A little bit of a change here... I decided to split the action on what they're up to, I feel like it could be a little cool change. Also, expect a few moments between Star Sapphire and Arnold... After all, she is a love lantern.
