"Haunted, how did it get haunted?", I asked.
"I'm not sure", Tonka answered, "But that's the one place you can look"
"Good point Tonka, however, you need special permission to get there", The Free Ranger said.
The Ranger explained how we needed to speak to someone in Cooper's Roost, then travel from-
"Wait a minute", Kai spoke up, "Of what you said is true, then how was Captain Blood able to get in and out undetected?"
"That right there is the million gold question my friend?" The Free Ranger said, "But right now, Tonka and I need to get our ship back", he said getting up.
"You're leaving?", Betty asked
"Yup, gotta find and reunite the legendary Magnificent Seven" The Free Ranger said walking to the exit with Tonka following him, "Times are tough, and we need all the help we could get. Good day to you all", he said tipping his hat then left.
"If it's not too much Eli", Tara said, "Could you, lead my team while I'm recovering?"
"I don't mind", Eli said with a smile
"Okay then, let's go-
"Mari", Tara said, "You are staying here, with me. Milo, you go with everyone else"
DANG IT! I forgot.
"But, Tara", Milo said
"No buts Milo, they will need your help"
"Mmmm", Milo complained with a sad face.
"I'm going to be okay, I have Mari and the bisons looking after me. I won't be alone"
"…okay", Milo said slowly standing up, "But, what about your pet?"
"Oh right, barracuda go on now", Tara said gently shaking barracuda.
Barracuda just curled up onto Tara's lap, "Aw come on now", Milo complained
Now it's growling at Milo, Tara gently pet and pat barracuda's head to calm it down, "I'm sorry Milo, looks like they're staying with me"
"Hmph", Aww Milo pouted
"I'll make it up to you, I promise"
Milo sighed off his pouting, then joined Eli and our crew.
"Good luck everyone, and please stay save", Tara said.
"We'll try too", Eli said before leaving with the crew.
Well dang, there goes that adventure. I mean, there's nothing wrong with being around Tara though. I sat down on a seat where was Tara while everyone started walking out the tent.
"….sssooo…, what now?", I asked.
"I have brought you breakfast, hornless one"
"Oh sweet, can I go get some?", I asked Tara.
"Go ahead Mari"
"Alright!", I said speed walking out the tent.
"You better come back"
"I will"
One hour later…
"I'm baaack!"
Tara gave me a serious glare, "Aw come on, the line was really long", I said.
"*Sigh* okay, okay", Tara said relaxing.
Oh good, the other reason was so I could get more food. Last night's dinner didn't fill me up as much, and I don't think today's breakfast with do the same. What I got a big stomach, don't be judgey! Plus, I got some for barracuda here too. Placed it on the ground, and the fish flew down to eat.
"Mari"
"Yea", I said talking while eating.
"How old are you?"
"17"
"…! And when did you learn how to ride a ship?", Tara asked turning towards me.
"9 and 10", I said and gulped.
"…! Who, taught you-
"My dad, aaaand the rest I learned from Grizzleheim"
"Grizzleheim?"
"Yea, that's the place I grew in when I was little", I said, "It's filled with loads of trees and mountains, but do NOT get me started with Wintertusk"
Just saying that made me shiver, it put winter itself to shame. I needed two thick coats, a thick knitted scarf, thick mittens, and heavy winter boots. And somehow, someway, some cool air got through. Not including my face.
"Are your parents okay with you being on an adventure like this?", Tara asked rising an eye brow.
"Yup", I said smiling big, "Heck, my dad would be so proud!"
"And your mother?"
"She'd be wondering why I haven't visited, hahaha…haha…hahaha"
"Mari, are you-
"I'm fine!", I said wiping my eyes, "l'm fine…", I said smiling.
….I uh, took another bite of my food. I don't feel like talking right now.
