It was around eight in the morning, and almost everyone was tired, especially after yesterday's long day. Most of them were in the Hyperjet.

"Ugh, I feel like I'm about to smash my face into the ground with how sleepy I am…!" Spinelli groaned. "I know we're all tired, but we still have a job to do. And I also saw that the Jets weren't cleaned…"

"Man, you expect us to clean 'em after a long day like that?!" Gerald exclaimed. "No, expect them to be a lot dirtier than how they are now. I recommend buying a bunch of soap." Arnold lightly smirked as walked to Olivia.

"How's everything with you, Princess?" Arnold kneeled next to Olivia. "Dad… Well, eh, not much, to be honest."

"Alright, then. Olivia, just know… I'm proud of you, sweetheart." Arnold kissed her forehead and soon walked off. Olivia smiled.

"Spinelli, wake up!" Arnold put a hand on her shoulder. "Spinelli? Spinelli!"

"Huh?! Wha- what?! What's happening?! I didn't do anything!

I- Oh. Arnold… Hey there…" Spinelli blushed a little. "Just as long as you're not sleeping on anything important. Alright?"

Spinelli nodded as her blush grew. "Yeah… Arnold, listen… I'm sorry about the other night. I just don't know what was going through my mind…!" Spinelli whispered. "You and I will talk later." Arnold wasn't exactly sure what to think.

"Uh, Dad? I picked up something. There's a hostage situation at a beauty salon! He's threatening to kill everyone in there!" Olivia said. "Alright, let's hustle! You guys know the drill, so I expect you all to follow it!" Arnold directed. He then got the onboard radio. "Ariel, you copy?"

"Hear you loud and clear, anything wrong?"

"Hostage situation at a beauty salon. You know what to do."

"Sure do. I'll be on standby for any injuries."

"Perfect!" Arnold then turned to Spinelli. "Spin, I think you should know where I want you." He lightly smirked and had a hand on her shoulder. Spinelli smirked back. "I know you too well." She smirked back.

"Alright. Olivia, get us blueprints of the salon, we're going in with a stealth attack. Nobody ever sees us coming." Arnold looked at his daughter. "Nobody ever sees us coming in bed." Rhonda whispered in Arnold's ear as she smirked. "Rhonda!" Arnold blushed furiously. "Someone's probably got exposed." Spinelli smirked.

Later

"ON THE FUCKING GROUND! I'LL KILL EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU! I AIN'T PLAYIN'!" The deranged man yelled. He was holding a carbine rifle and had a grenade in his pocket.

The Hyperjet's doors lowered from underneath. The Hybrid rolled off into position, the others were on the roof, planning an entrance.

Ariel and Nadine were at street level with paramedics.

Sapphire carefully ripped off the vent as it created a path for Gerald to get in above the man. "Arnold, wait." Rhonda grabbed his arm. "Every salon has an entrance nobody knows about. I should know, trust me."

Arnold debated for a second. "It's too risky. I'm not losing you simply because I failed to protect you." Arnold let himself go. "Arnold, I'm above the guy, but we have more trouble. He's got a hostage in hand." Gerald radioed in. "Get out of there, now! We aren't taking any chances!"

"So what do we do here?" Sapphire asked. "Wait! Don't you have a special tool for a situation like this? A weapon jammer you've been working on?" Rhonda suggested. "But the only problem is… I haven't tested it." Arnold replied.

"It's worth a shot." Sapphire replied as she put a hand on his shoulder. Gerald soon climbed out of the vent system. "Don't think I didn't hear that weapon jammer you was workin' on."

"Come on!"

Later

"So much for trying something simple, no? We have a bunch of fancy and overpriced things." Spinelli said as she looked at the weapon jammer device. "It's simple. Just attach it straight onto the armor glove. You have to aim your shot steady so you don't waste any opportunity, okay?"

"Let's see it in action." Gerald said. "You better hurry! His trigger finger is itching!" Sapphire pointed.

The man's finger was on the trigger, but resisting to shoot.

"Oh, God! I never even got to tell my mother I love her!" The blonde woman cried. "Nobody will be saying shit after this!" The man retaliated.

"Hurry!"

Arnold lined up his shot straight to the rifle. He shot a bullet straight to the rifle, the bullet wasn't heard zipping by or anything, it was quieter than a mouse.

The man pressed the trigger. Everyone gasped. Nothing happened.

"Huh?!"

He kept pressing the trigger, but nothing happened. Instead, the gun disintegrated into bits, breaking apart.

"Move it!" Gerald exclaimed to the Chicago P.D. as he grabbed his handguns. "It's funny how the Chicago P.D. trusts us, unlike the H.P.D." Sapphire pointed out. "Ugh, tell me about it."

A SWAT member hit the guy in the face with his rifle as another member took him by the arm and dragged him out. Arnold motioned his head to Ariel, Nadine, and paramedics to help with any injuries.

"Is anyone hurt?" Arnold called out. A few civilians raised their hands. Arnold directed the paramedics to them. Arnold soon saw the blonde woman who was held hostage, curled up into a ball, crying her eyes out.

"You okay, ma'am?" Arnold walked up to her. "Do I LOOK okay?! Never in my life did I ever think this was going to happen!"

Spinelli walked in through the smashed glass window as she was checking the area.

"Ma'am, tell me your name." Arnold kneeled down. The woman soon saw who she was talking to. She immediately wiped her tears away and tried to compose herself. "Ashley. Ashley A. I prefer not saying my last name…"

"Ashley?! Did I hear right?!" Spinelli exclaimed as she walked up to Arnold. "Arnold! Do you know who this is?!"

"No, why?"

"This is the person who made my childhood HELL! And SHE'S the reason why I moved to Hillwood! But I don't regret moving here, you know why, 'cause I live a better life here! Not like this slut! After high school, bitch thought it was a good idea to become a prostitute! Only using it as an excuse to get dick down her throat or inside her and then try to make me feel bad about it just because of who I am! Well, at least I'm not a SLUT LIKE YOU, ASHLEY!" Spinelli felt enraged by the childhood torture Ashley A put her through.

"That's ENOUGH! Stand down!" Arnold wrapped his arms around her waist, separating her from Ashley A. Spinelli kept reaching, wanting to strangle her.

"Spinelli, I'm sorry! I've changed my ways, I seriously did! I know what I did was wrong… And I stopped being that stupid thing after you left! Another reason being is that sometimes it felt like rape, and I didn't want to live with myself knowing I was a slut! Please, Spinelli! I regret everything I did and directed at you!" Ashley A pleaded.

"You did so much… You only shaped who I am… And I'm proud of who I am, I can't look at you 'cause you sicken me! And nothing will ever restore my childhood and my teenage years…" Spinelli's cheek jittered a little as rage coursed through her veins. Arnold kept holding her back as he listened to every word she said, he felt extremely sorry for her. He had a bit of a saddened look. "It's all thanks to you and those damn Ashleys that have ruined those years of my life… They say those are the best years of one's life, they were wrong. It was fuckin' horrendous for me, but I had enough and moved away, and I don't regret it… I have so many special friends here, especially this guy right here, my closest friend of all…! You wanna know something, I feel loved here more than I ever did during my childhood and teenage years, my parents don't give a fuck about me, and I never heard of them ever since I slammed the door shut in their faces, but I could give two shits less…" Spinelli's face was red as her cheeks jittered in rage.

"If I don't break free and strangle you here and now, it's 'cause my job is to save people, regardless who they are… And you are the last person I ever expected to… to- Shadow… my fucking head.." Spinelli held her head. Arnold hugged her and held her up. "Easy now, easy! Ariel!" Arnold caught her attention and motioned her over. Ariel ran up to him. "She's not feeling too well, get her treated. Now!"

"You got it." Ariel soon held Spinelli. "Easy now, girl. You're in good hands. Let's get you some oxygen and get you hydrated. Maybe something to calm you down." Ariel helped Spinelli out of the salon.

Arnold sighed as he saw Spinelli, in distress. He then looked at Ashley A. "I have no idea what happened between the two of you, but I believe her, and I believe you."

Ashley A stammered. "You- you do?"

"Yes. I do." Arnold sighed as he looked away. "Look, I can't stay and talk, I have other things to check on. Take care now."

The two waved. Ashley A never thought she would reunite with Spinelli, especially in that way. She was also too confused to notice the outfit she wore, the V patch on their suits, and who she was working with.

"I have to see whether we can ever set aside our differences…"

"You two, check over there, make sure there's no hazards." Arnold told two police officers. He soon went outside to check on Spinelli.

She was sitting up, breathing through the oxygen mask, Ariel was beside her, standing. "I'll take it from here, Ariel. You go back in and do whatever you can." Ariel only nodded as she walked off. Arnold sat down beside Spinelli.

"Somehow, I have a feeling of what you're gonna say…" She hung her head. "Spinelli, I'm so sorry to hear everything that's happened to you… I had no idea you never had love from your parents or anything like that… I…" Arnold then sighed as he put an arm over her. "If there's anything you ever need, come talk to me. I'm always here for you, y'know." Arnold smiled.

Spinelli smiled at Arnold. "Thanks, Arnold. I can always count on you." Spinelli then got pulled into a hug. She hugged Arnold back. "I truly can't appreciate the love and support you always give me. Not as a colleague, as your friend. Thank you, Arnold." Spinelli said as she buried her face into his chest. Arnold rubbed her back, comforting her. Arnold then decided to kiss Spinelli's forehead, she felt better after that and smiled while her face buried in his chest.

Hours Later

It was around nighttime, and everything was peaceful down in Chicago, for the most part.

Arnold and the other Vigilantes were still figuring out about the arson fires. Well, they weren't totally working.

"And I said, 'dude, no way! How the fuck did you expect to get tackled if you're too short for football? They don't even see you!" Spinelli and others laughed as they were all drinking beer.

Rhonda finished up a bottle and soon looked at Arnold. "Have I ever told you how much I love you, my honeybun?" Rhonda rested her head on his shoulder. "I think I'll demonstrate." Arnold smirked. Arnold held her head and chin as he started kissing her passionately.

A little beeping was then heard. "You two knock it off. We got a high-rise fire downtown." Gerald checked his PCU. "Don't have to get so grumpy about us." Rhonda scoffed. "High-rise fire. You all know what that means. Let's go!" Arnold said as they all ran out of the bar.

The Hyperjet and QR Jet were outside, fortunately not blocking traffic.

They all immediately suited up. The two aircraft's were soon airborne and flew to downtown Chicago. The bar was pretty far from the high-rise fire.

A bit of a dark backstory for Spinelli, I'll admit, but hey, she's living a lot better in Hillwood (Despite the craziness of the Militia). And we're finally getting to the interesting part of this story! Next chapter, we'll be spicing up this adventure!
