The next morning came and Kerensky was launching a fresh set of attacks. He hoped to knock the Dual Alliance out of the war so attention was drawn away from Azumi and Earl Gray, enough strength so that their allies would launch a simultaneous counter offensive. Hopes for Kerensky were high as Gisela had been severely weakened. Now the chance of breaking through was high. Alexandra and Konstantina weren't there however and neither was Nathalia. All three of them withdrew as there was simply no hope for them to participate in this type of battle. Yuri and Himari raised battalions of the former aristocrats to help fight in the offensive. And now it was going to be put to the test. With the offensive starting in Stanislau, the students were quick to learn from Alexandra, those that learned were going to lead the attack.

The artillery barrage ended after a few minutes as many of the Dual Alliance positions had been destroyed. Nelly was waiting in her dugout with her students as they were going to spearhead the attack, Kay and Lola were sitting a little further back as they weren't going to have the most experienced commanders guiding them other than Megumi.

"Finally our chance to shine. Might as well show the school what we are made of!" Kay began as she was desperate to win back her position during these times of turbulence. Maybe if she was to prove herself, she could use it as a talking point to get them to side with her. Nelly waited patiently as the artillery bombardment ended. Nelly pulled out her whistle and watched as the time counted down to zero, she blew the whistle, ready to go forward.

The Gregor students exited their dugouts and began to advance forward to take the enemy by surprise. The Dual Alliance students had mostly fallen due to the students having no morale or reason to put up a defense. For Solti, things were starting to look dire. Without Gisela as she had been taken out in the barrage, a large hole had opened and she needed to fill it reserves. Nelly and the others dove into the trenches to find one or two students that were still firing at them and they were able to quickly overwhelm these students before continuing the advance. Within the hour, the group had captured Koniukhy and continued the advance. Solti was growing worried.

"Is Kuromorimine available?" Solti frantically called over on the phone, she needed to get the students from them to be able to provide spare troops to help curb the advance.

"I'm sorry but Kuromorimine isn't available at this moment but you can call their allies, they got spares." The telephone spokesperson told Solti. Solti decided to call Erwin next to see if he had spare students to send over and blunt the advance.

"Yes I got plenty of students. Where do you need them?" Erwin asked where Solti needed these students.

"Put them where the Gregor Students are advancing, We need to be able to blunt this advance." Solti told Erwin to set up defensive lines to prepare to hold the enemy to prevent any more breakthroughs.

"Given the situation, I'm impressed that Saunders is still able to launch offensives at this point." Erwin told Solti in a rather unamused way. He thought the revolution had ceased all operations and it was now just them going on the defensive. I'll be sending students your way to plug up the advance."

"Got you." Solti told Erwin.

Erwin had dispatched three large groups of students to help plug up the holes that Nelly and the other Saunders students had blown their way into. The Gregor legion had captured Yamnystia and were now advancing on the next belt of cities. The Gregor legion was beginning to run into problems at this point, Lola's advance was being slowed by Azusa, Kay's legion were too few in number and Himari and Yuri's groups refused to advance.

"Hold the line here, we need to stop the Gregor student's advance." Erwin told the students that they needed to blunt the advance or risk having the Dual Alliance collapse all together. The recently given Bonple Legion was now under his control but he wasn't going to use them as of yet. Nelly and her student had advanced a mile and a half at this point and they were running out of steam. Nelly knew they couldn't go any further without significant reinforcements. "Now!" Erwin called out. The rifles and machine guns began to open up on the exhausted Gregor Legion which they were now dragging their feet at this point. Nelly was still determined to break into the enemy and rout it.

Nelly watched as many students of the Gregor legion collapse around her as she continued to advance. Nelly and the others tried to toss their grenades only for them to be brought down moments preparing to chuck them which left many exploding around them. Nelly got up and began a full on retreat with the remaining students. Olivia noticed this and raised herself from the trench.

"The enemy's offensive cannot hold, now's our chance, attack!" Olivia called out while holding a trench club in her hand. She charged out first with the other groups following in behind. For them the counter attack had begun.

With the offensive having been stunted by Erwin, the offensive by the middle schoolers could begin. Alexandra and the cavalry would have exploited the opportunity to advance quickly and take towns before the enemy was able to finish its deployment but with Nelly's attack having gone too slowly, the enemy was able to patch the front together and was now attacking. Nelly and her group were forced to give up their gains within the hour.

"Himari you need to attack to prevent the enemy from storming across the trenches. We need you to fight." Megumi instructed the aristocrats to make their move. Himari and most of her squads of color looked at the orders before she tossed them away.

"Megumi's being a bigot by ordering us to attack. We want the victory handed to us." Himari told the group as they weren't going to do much of anything to try to stop the middle schoolers. Nelly and the others retreated while Himari and Yuri refused to do much of anything. Kay meanwhile was fighting furiously as Erwin had decided to swing southward to threaten Count High School's Moldovan front from joining the action. Azusa swung to the northeast to retake Brody, Olivia was heading the center.

Himari and her friends were in the center as Olivia was advancing upon them. Himari and Yuri weren't doing much but sitting around, they wanted victory to be handed to them and with them not following orders, they were a perfect target to be blown open. Olivia advanced with her troops virtually unopposed as there was no one shooting at her. Himari looked to her left as Olivia slid into the trench with her trench club in her hand. She looked at the students who decided to not put up any sort of fighting.

"Alright, surrender now and nobody gets hurt." Olivia gave the order to Himari and the aristocrats. Yuri walked over as if she wasn't going to take orders from her.

"Hey who are you giving orders like that, I want confirmation on what is happening, you're better off surrendering to us if you want to retain the pigment colors of skin!" Yuri called out in protest. Olivia grabbed the trench club and bashed it hard over Yuri's head. So hard that Yuri collapsed to the ground as a blow to the skull almost cracked her head like an egg. The rest of the students went to secure the rest of the trench.

Erwin and the group were charging across the terrain as Kay's Saunders legion which had a couple hundred students and they were dug in. Kay raised her pistol and began firing away. The students fired their rifles and machine guns in an effort to ward off his attack. Erwin continued to lead the attack as he had a new weapon to use. He raised the machine pistol he had and began to spray it at Kay while one of his hands was on the sideways facing magazine. The weapon slowly fired as it was providing cover for those that were still charging in. Kay looked around as her students were getting turned into swiss cheese by the enemy as the students were still storming their way across.

"Keep the pressure up!" Kay shouted. She loaded another magazine into the pistol and continued firing. She hoped to take some of these students out. Erwin looked around as he had lost a few students but nothing that was going to change the ride of the battle, eventually the middle schoolers got out their grenades, unscrewed the pins and chucked them into the trenches. Kay and the others tried to toss the grenades back but they quickly exploded, ripping large holes into the line as well as taking out the machine guns. Kay looked around as Erwin had finished reloading and the students began to charge their way across. Kay looked up to see a burst from the machine pistol was all that took to take her out. Erwin slid into the trenches and continued to clear them out. The Saunders legion had been wiped out.

Olivia continued with the main thrust however. Megumi gave the order for the students to begin abandoning captured territory that Alexandra had taken days ago. One by one the towns fell, Stanislau, Detalyn, Kolomea, Tarnopol and finally Czernowitz was abandoned. Only Brody held on as Lola had sucked much of the offensive power to there though both sides sustained heavy casualties.

Count High School meanwhile was going to feel the brunt of the offensive power the middle schoolers were going to throw at them. Mahou was observing from her binoculars and with the news of the collapse of the Gregor and Saunders legions, any chance for an offensive was zero.

"Saunders has completely collapsed and it is no longer reliable except for the few that are resisting." Mahou began. Mizuki was holding a Chauchat light machine gun which she desperately tried to keep clean. Marina, Ileana and Noemi had their rifles at the ready as a great battle was going to be undertaken.

"Here they come!" Ileana called out. The artillery for Count High School was stationed more to the rear, they were going to attempt to break up the advance.

Erwin's army had arrived though the sacrifice of the Saunders legion had reduced its overall strength. Mizuki began firing away as Mahou raised her revolver with the other students as they fired away with her. Erwin and the group continued to storm their way through as they wanted to take Count High School out as well, the artillery shells raining down on them had taken out quite a few students of his group and with the rifle fire being much more accurate, it was starting to inflict higher casualties on Erwin who was advancing to the enemy. Mahou looked to her left to see a couple students of hers go down as they had been taken out. She knew they needed to regroup.

"Guys retreat and regroup. We need to get out of here!" Mahou called out. Mahou, Noemi, Marina and Ileana leaped from the trench with the other students as Mizuki finished the magazine of the Chauchat off before folding up and retreating. Erwin and the others entered the trench before firing off their rifles to try to take down some of the retreating Count High School Students. Ileana and Mahou slid into a ditch where more students had gathered to help prepare their counter attack.

"Good lord! That was a close one!" Ileana began while she was holding her rifle. Mahou knew the opportunity to drive the enemy back was now or they would not do it at all.

"No! We can and will do this! We have to defeat them!" Mahou began as if she wanted to place command into Ileana's hands. "I know your abilities and I want you to lead the attack. I will call the artillery, after it strikes, you attack, understood?" Mahou asked Ileana if she was willing to follow along with this order.

"Understood!" Ileana replied while she saluted. Erwin had withdrawn to help plan out the next phase of the attack. The students he had left behind weren't prepared for an overall counter attack. The artillery rained down on them as they were now beginning to advance. Ileana slipped into the trench before exiting with the others. She was going to lead the attack.

"Soim Roman!" The students chanted while charging across the field. Erwin panicked and the artillery began firing on the Count High School students advancing on him. Their chanting grew louder as the artillery had taken out a couple of students. It wasn't enough however and Ileana continued the advance. Erwin and the others fired desperately to try to stem this advance but with Mizuki having loaded a fresh magazine into her Chauchat, fired away, taking them all out as three more students fell from Count High School. Count High School had successfully reorganized and had conducted another attack but this was only minor as the entire front had fallen apart.

The offensive had ended in disaster, Saunders lost more territory than it had started with but it only stopped the offensive as their supply lines gave out. It was a heavy defeat for them and many of the students were now starting to question the leadership of the Provisional Government.

"Losses are heavy, we gave up more ground than we gained. Himari and Yuri didn't want to do anything which left the Central Powers a free hand to attack. It is clear that this new leadership is very ineffective." Megumi began speaking to Nathalia about the results of today's offensive. "Only Count High School was able to make any sort of gains but they only made a quarter of a mile in their offensive."

"Yeah and now I'm pretty mad about this as I thought Kay's leadership was bad but this is way worse. We don't know what we should do." Nathalia told Megumi.

"We need to talk to Kerensky about this and if he doesn't make reforms, we overthrow him." Megumi told Nathalia that talking was the first step to try to solve all of their problems but if that didn't work they would respond with violence.

"Okay tell the students to rest up." Nathalia told Megumi that all future operations will have to be ceased. Kuromorimine and its allies have nearly destroyed Saunders at this point and the final blow was going to come from the inside and not from them entirely. "Also Jajka is nowhere to be seen and I have the information confirmed. Jajka has joined the Bonple Legion." Megumi and Lola went silent. Jajka had left Saunders and joined the enemy.

Runa, Maho and Erwin meanwhile were chatting among themselves, they were relatively happy with the offensive he had pulled off.

"Nice job today with that offensive Erwin. Your weapons proved their worth as you had captured about five objective points with this one offensive. It won't be much longer until Saunders collapses from within. I am surprised that they still had the guts to launch this offensive." Maho gave praise to her friend as he managed to save the situation and turned it into their favor.

"Yes and his new weapons and tactics still need refinements and more testing. With the Saunders front having collapsed, we might make a few more smaller moves on them while we test these tactics against Anzio. Once they prove they have worked, we can knock the Western Front out of the war and declare victory." Runa explained that victory for them was starting to turn in their favor once again. Suddenly, Manami came into the room as she had some news. "Manami, is there a reason you have come?" Runa asked.

"Yes. About the telegraph to Chihuahua High School. Earl Gray has intercepted it, showed it Stars and Stripes Middle School and that's it. Stars and Stripes Middle School has declared war on us and is shipping its students out to Earl Gray." Manami explained to Runa.

"Then I am not overly too worried about them, even if they contribute many thousands of students to the front, they're even in strength. I say this war will go on indefinitely." Runa replied as that school was one she wasn't worried about that much.

"But it gets worse from there. Not only did they join but we have an extremely powerful new enemy that has mobilized against us. Russia." Manami explained. The last new enemy made Runa's blood run cold.

"The Russians have thousands of professionally trained elite soldiers, they'll wipe us out in a matter of days. If Earl Gray has contacted them through their navy then it'll be game over for us. We must not make haste. Even though those two are a very long way away, with the Russians joining, it's now or never to end this war." Runa told Manami that they needed to end the war now before the new and professional troops showed up and turned the tide of the war.

"Right, let's make a few more moves before we begin massing up for one last attack." Maho told them before she walked away.

For all of the schools, the situation was beginning to look grim. Bc Freedom was facing mutinies, Kuromorimine was starving and the war had drained all of Saunders supplies. There was still no clear winner and it was slowly tipping into Kuromorimine's favor once again. Saunders had completely collapsed and was no longer reliant on being able to fight. When the public found out about the war, a massive riot was going to happen as nobody was happy.

Kerensky's offensive was the straw that broke the delicate back of the Provisional Government and the public were outraged that the war was still continuing. It was now up to the people to stop the war.

[A/N]: A short chapter for you all but this explains how the war is still going for Saunders. To be frank, the entire front has collapsed and could no longer be relied on. Jajka had gone AWOL and joined the Bonple Legion. Kay has yet to decide on what to do and now the public are outraged that the war is still continuing. Another riot looks likely. Next chapter will be focused on the riot and Saunders still collapsing from the failure of the war. Nathalia has something planned though we don't know as of yet.

I am still expecting 4k views but I feel like I'm starting to get bored with this fanfiction again as I covered a large chunk of the war and starting to debate on taking another break. I want to work on other stuff but I really want to get this finished. Should I take a break or at least finish this part and then decide on what to do next? I want to see your opinion on it.

Next chapter should come out very shortly as it's still continuing this one. Unless I think otherwise. See you in the riots.
