Lisa had been given the news of her promotion to Commissar of Foreign Affairs but the situation remained uneasy for Lisa. However, if they could get peace with Kuromorimine, they could get out of the war and bring peace to Saunders. Lisa decided to sit down with Runa who was sent by Manami to make a deal with her. Runa was carrying several maps and she was ready to talk to her about the terms.
"Nice to see you Runa, I bet you're looking fine today." Lisa began. Runa laughed before sitting down in one of the chairs. Lisa sat down in the one opposite of her.
"Thanks Lisa, I wanted to see if you were ready for Saunders to make peace." Runa told Lisa that she was ready to make peace with Kuromorimine and her allies. Lisa nodded and began speaking.
"Yes I have, if anyone else was in charge with Saunders, we wouldn't be having this meeting right now." Lisa explained to Runa that they wouldn't be here if anyone else was still running the school and therefore continuing the war. Runa nodded.
"I guess you're right about that one." Runa sighed while she slid the paper over for Lisa to read over.
"So what are we going to get for this peace deal?" Lisa asked while she was reading the peace deal.
"We want Bonple, Lithuania and Latvia." Runa demanded that the divide which Pravda would give Kuromorimine would be their normal frontlines. Lisa knew that losing such a massive war like this one would damage Saunders' own prestige and even if Pravda had the school under their control.
"I object to this and I want better terms." Lisa told Runa that she didn't want any of these demands. She decided to get up and leave. "I'm going to talk with the Pravda students while you come up with better terms." Lisa told Runa. Runa sat there and began to think about it. She had given Lisa a chance for peace and Lisa had decided to walk away on her. With this news, she decided to think it over. If Lisa was going to come back, she was going to demand more from her.
Lisa and the rest of Pravda were thinking about something as the terms were pretty unfair. They were trying to figure out how to get better terms for peace, demobilize and focus on crushing all of their internal enemies.
"Count High School has gotten Bessarabia back and it looks like we're starting to crack and collapse. We were given the peace terms earlier but give up Bonple, Latvia and Lithuania, this is insane, it will ruin us!" Fumie explained to the group that they weren't willing to give in to their demands if it was going to ruin the entire school. Fumie then turned to Lisa. "Hey Lisa you got a big brain, what do you suggest we do?" Fumie asked her friend if she had any sort of plan on what they were going to do if they were going to seek better terms from Kuromorimine. Lisa thought about this question a bit before she came to a conclusion.
"I got it. We shall implement a policy of neither peace nor war. No war means we will not fight Kuromorimine and demobilize our own army to focus on our internal enemies and no peace means we won't sign the peace treaty either. And when Kuromorimine sees that we're no longer fighting them, they'll have to leave us alone or something." Lisa explained that they weren't going to fight but still remain in the war for the time being to get more favorable terms from Kuromorimine. Fumie was ecstatic about this plan.
"Lisa, that's genius! I can kiss you!" Fumie called out in favor of Lisa's idea. Lisa on the other hand was feeling a little disgusted by what Fumie had to say.
"Do you want me to kiss you? Stop asking me that." Lisa recoiled with disgust as if her way of saying no.
"Okay I won't kiss you." Fumie replied as she was reading what Lisa had to say.
"That's better." Lisa sighed. She was feeling better knowing that she wouldn't be kissed. Neither of them realized that this plan wasn't going to go in their favor.
Maho and the others later on that day had marched up to where they would be meeting Saunders in battle. Maho looked around to see a sign saying AFK, they weren't going to be fighting. Maho sensed there was no opposition ahead and decided to draw out her saber.
"Forward!" Maho called out, when Kuromorimine sensed Saunders had stopped fighting, they slammed their entire school deeper into Saunders territory. Now with the fact that Kuromorimine was threatening Petrograd itself. They knew they needed to call Lisa over for a new round of negotiations.
Lisa was busy trying to keep Saunders together when she heard the phone ringing. She didn't know who it was from but she decided to pick it up and see who it was.
"Hello?" Lisa asked whoever was on the other side of the phone. She waited for a bit as a familiar voice began to speak: It was Manami.
"This is Manami, we wish to see you tomorrow for a new round of negotiations. We would seriously consider you getting out of the war though." Manami began speaking that she was ready for another round of negotiations to see what terms were acceptable. For Lisa however, this was going to be tougher than she had anticipated. Back to the negotiating table she would have to go.
Lisa went back to Manami the next morning as yesterday had proven that there wasn't much that she could do. Manami on the other hand was patient and fair, she was willing to see what Lisa would be comfortable with when it came to getting Saunders out of the war. Lisa sat down with Manami who had brought Runa along with her as they rolled out the map to make their next round of demands.
"So what are the new demands, you've marched further into our territory even though we have stopped fighting." Lisa asked Manami and Runa if they were willing to let them go through another round of negotiations. Runa began to think over the demands from the day before and she began to speak next.
"We demand, Bonple, Lithuania and Latvia from the day before but now we also demand Estonia, and an independent Jatkosota, Baltic, Belarus, Ukraine and Transcaucasus." Runa laid out that now they wanted more from Saunders the day before. For Lisa, she was still outraged by this.
"I'm still angry that you want more and I want better terms." Lisa began. Then the door opened as Fumie, who had recovered, had stepped in and forced the peace.
"Lisa you have no idea what you are doing, if you say better terms, Kuromorimine would only want more. How about I draw the line where it will be acceptable." Fumie explained that Kuromorimoine was only going to keep going until there would be none of Saunders left. At this point it would be good idea to accept these demands. "Manami, I as the current leader of Saunders, accept these peace terms." Fumie explained to Manami. Manami and Runa smiled as they were ecstatic about what Fumie had said. Runa slid Fumie a slip of paper and it showed the conditions that Manami needed to undertake if peace was to be restored to Saunders. Fumie read it over before she took a pen and signed her name. There was no way they were going to continue fighting and peace was most likely their best course of action.
"Thank you and have a nice day." Manami told Fumie and Lisa. Fumie smiled as this was good news. She knew she needed to tell the entirety of Saunders about the peace.
Fumie had gotten back to Saunders as she began to tap the microphone and decided to speak.
"Students of Saunders, I have returned from Kuromorimine with the paper that we have signed that has guaranteed us peace between the schools of Kuromorimine, Kebab High School, Yogurt Academy and the Dual-Alliance. Although we have taken a big hit throughout the past few weeks, I say we should begin to rebuild the school from the ashes as we are now officially out of the war." Fumie announced that Saunders had made peace. The people cheered with joy and excitement, this peace was long overdue and now they could focus on rebuilding the school. However, even with this peace deal, things still weren't going in their favor. An hour would pass as Fumie was now relaxing when a slip of paper came through the door. Fumie got up to see what the piece of paper would be. Then the door opened.
"Great announcement you made their Fumie." Konstantina began before she stepped on the sheet of paper.
"Konstantina, you've stepped on something." Fumie explained to Konstantina. Konstantina lifted her foot from the paper before she picked it up to see who it was from. "Well who sent this piece of paper?" Fumie asked. Konstantina flipped it over to see who it was from.
"It says Nelly but why would she be asking for us. What does this piece of paper say?" Konstantia asked as a friend of hers sent this piece of paper to Fumie.
"Well, open it up and see what it says." Fumie told Konstantina that they should open the slip of paper to see what it would say. Konstantina removed the sheet of tape from the paper before opening the paper. The message from Nelly was clear, straight-forward and summed up in four words all in capital letters.
WE HAD A DEAL
The words had struck out as for Nelly when she heard about this peace, it was a complete betrayal and now Fumie knew that more enemies were making themselves known. Fumie knew that they needed to begin making some changes to better secure Saunders.
"Fumie, withdrawing from the war was a terrible mistake that you have made. We are unhappy with all of this and if you decide to continue making bad decisions we're going to fight our way out of the school. This is an intolerable action and we demand retribution for the actions you have made by letting us go but you will not be getting your rifles back. Signed Nelly." Fumie would read out the letter that Nelly had sent her. It was clear Nelly was angry with her and with Saunders now out of the war, she was done negotiating. Fumie knew there was no time to respond to Nelly and instead, Fumie turned to Konstantina with a request. "With the peace treaty leaving Petrograd in an exposed position, we should move the capital to Moskva as there will be more land protecting the city from the frontier where the next great battle will take place." Fumie ordered Konstantina to secure the new capitol if they were going to resist any future enemies.
"Okay." Konstantina told Fumie before she got up and decided to move out, she was going to give the order to move the city's capitol to somewhere a little more safe. Then Clementia entered the room.
"Good news, the Donskie Kazakis have scattered against the Red Guard, they were smashed." Clementia explained that their most immediate threat had been defeated and the counter revolution had been taken out. Fumie smiled when she heard the news.
"Good, I shall make the announcement." Fumie told Clementia. She got up and decided to walk off to make the announcement to the school. Fumie in a few minutes had gathered around the large outside property of the school where she was going to make her announcement. She looked out at the crowd of people that had gathered as many of them had gathered. She happily waved before she began to make her announcement. "People of Saunders, I have received the good news that we have scattered the counter revolutionaries and we now have peace with the school. As the economy is still struggling, I am willing to do everything in my power to recover the economy within the next few months and get the industrial and agricultural output back up to where it was before the war began. With the recent events that happened, we need to make sure we can defend ourselves from our enemies." Fumie announced that their enemies had scattered and any fighting was over. The crowd cheered as they were excited with this news. So that was it, any future conflicts had been resolved and weren't going to spring up. Fumie however was wrong and this conflict will spark an internal war in the school so there was no peace for Saunders, not by a long shot. Kay, who was watching from a distance, knew that the opportunity was now to try to overthrow Fumie and take Saunders back for herself. She turned and walked away. She needed to raise an army of her own and convince the people to rally behind her. Things weren't going well for Fumie despite the optimistic outlook on it and many people were angry by her and her actions.
"Sorry Pravda but you're going down. I want the school back for myself." Kay told herself. She was ready to begin contacting everyone to give them the order to start a whole uprising to have Fumie taken out of power. Himari and Yuri were dissatisfied with Fumie preventing the changes they wanted to make and were ready to strike out on their own but they didn't like Kay and Kay didn't like them either. It was going to be a war between them. Nelly didn't like what Pravda had done and she was ready to strike back.
Fumie was sitting in her office as she was filling out some paperwork and knew she still had a lot of work to do and with whatever work there was still needing to get done. She was extremely nervous on the inside as Saunders was still in hot water. Although Fumie fished the school out a bit, it wasn't enough and now worse had yet to come. Then the door opened as Alexandra had rushed in. She was panting as if she had run all the way here, Fumie looked at her as Alexandra was holding a piece of paper and she began speaking to Fumie.
"FUMIE! You've pissed off so many people that they've united against you. We're under attack." Alexandra began speaking to Fumie that the enemies were more numerous and they were coming to topple Saunders' Communism. To Fumie this wasn't anything to be worried about.
"Relax, we always expected some counter-revolutionary pushback. I think we can handle a few angry monopoly men." Fumie explained to Alexandra that the enemy would be just the few angry capitalists who didn't like her. She thought this war was going to be a short one as they could scatter the enemy with the Red Guard once again. For Alexandra, she wasn't entirely sure this time.
"But, Fumie. It's not just the monopoly men." Alexandra told Fumie that their enemies were more numerous and they were going to fight her. Fumie was curious to see who they were going to fight.
"Okay, who are we up against?" Fumie asked. Alexandra looked at the paper of the list of enemies that Pravda held Saunders had made and she began to speak the list out to Fumie.
"Well, the liberals, the Social Revolutionaries, national separatists in Bonple, Jatkosota, and Ukraine, independent warlords setting up chiefdoms, anarchist rebels, the Green Peasant Armies, the Kazakis, the Caucasian States, the Baltic States, St. Gloriana, BC Freedom, Stars and Stripes Middle School, the Russians and Chi-Ha-Tan Academy. Oh, and a legion of Gregor High School students seem to have taken over all of the railways and stolen all the imperial gold reserves." Alexandra listed the enemies that Pravda was going to be facing. Fumie dropped her pen as the list of enemies Pravda had made was huge.
"What?! How could this get any worse?" Fumie asked as she didn't know how this could get worse for Pravda. Alexandra looked over her paper again to see what she needed to say on what else was coming or rather who.
"Oh, and it says here your mother-in-law's coming to stay." Alexandra added that her mother in law was coming over. For Fumie that one straw that broke the camel's back.
"NOOOooOOoOooOooo!" Fumie screamed that on top of the enemies Pravda was now facing, the mother-in-law was coming over to spend time with Fumie.
For Pravda held Saunders, the war had restarted but it was now inside of the school and with everyone fighting against Pravda, now Fumie had to fight everyone to keep her grip on the school. War against the school was here.
End of Part 4
[A/N]: Part 4 Aka the war is finally finished and now with Saunders having fallen apart and taken over by Pravda and therefore it is now Communist. A variety of enemies are rising up to topple Communism and kick Pravda out of Saunders. So you know what that means? Yep Saunders has now descended into Civil War. Now the Civil War is going to need its own part as it will be somewhat of a complicated issue and with new enemies rising up, Pravda will need to put them down. Let's see if we can try hitting 4.5k views for the civil war. See you later.
I also had to take a lot of breaks during this time and now the story is a year old. I think I began Part 4 in September and with all of the battles that had occurred, I just needed more time to rest and think over what was going to happen and some of these chapters ended up being shorter than I had expected them to be. Maybe the Civil war would lengthen the story but I don't know by how much. There will be a lot happening in part 5 so keep your eyes peeled. Goodbye for now.
