I held it in my hand, swung it in martial arts training, blasted it around, talked with it when I was contemplating about the laws and polished it three times a day with sweet-smelling honey oil, ate with it perched on my lap, bathed with it, and slept with it.
I even took Ea to my private meetings with Lady Ishtar and priestess Shamhat!
...No, I didn't have sex with them, thank you very much. They were diplomatic meetings you horny mongrels. Besides, little Shiduri was right behind me as a personal secretary in training. No way I was gonna traumatize her.
Where was I? Oh, yes, about how I took Ea anywhere I went. I really, really did adore Ea. Yet.
Glaring at the bond level on the screen, I couldn't help but let out a sad sigh while absentmindedly scrubbing Ea with scented oil. Oh, how Ea breaks my heart...
At this point, I very well might be more obsessed with Ea than I am with Lancer Artoria.
Setting down Ea onto a velvet cushion I custom-made just for her, I sat down on the stone floor cross-legged.
It was time for my daily meditation, and it really helps with my stress and organizing my thoughts...though I always forget what I was thinking when I come back.
Meh, no matter. Deep breathes in, deep breathes out.

...Now. My daily time for analyzing mysteries with meditation.
I can't risk analyzing the system on my surface mental landscape. I have a tingling sensation, a gut feeling, intuition, or sixth sense, call it as you like, but this body of mine rings alarm bells whenever I attempt that.
Something just tells me that the system would twist my perception in the way it desired.
Thus, only in this deep, meditative state, can I squeeze out some limited time to assimilate and check my inner thoughts. The Matrix would be the best example. I am the freed mind that was previously wired to the machine, and the machines are the system.
Enough side-tracking.
I have come to the conclusion in these years that the system acts more like a task manager/status screen with an astronomically rare chance for Gacha...a gacha that isn't all that useful from my experience.
Sure, the golden gigolo might sound nice for the horny dudes out there, but that actually means time for women. The time that I need for training and meditating with my precious Ea, not to mention all the work I need to sort out for the betterment of my people.
Anyway, what I want to say is that the system does not give me 'quests' on its own, nor does it give me any extravagant 'system rewards/drops'. It was always me who thought of an idea or a plan, and then the system categorizes it into individual quests.
So, as of right now, I am no system slave...though that doesn't do much to truly alleviate my worries. Something is suspicious about this system...either an operation to do with the counter forces of ALAYA or GAIA...or maybe even the Outer Gods in disguise?
I mean, just look at the role-playing skill! If that doesn't scream control to you, I don't know what will.
The Gamer's Mind: EX skill is also fishy as hell. I can just think of a hundred different types of possible mental manipulation from the top of my head.
Well...these thoughts would be soon sealed into the very depths of my inner consciousness...wouldn't want the system to pick up on them.
...I do not need my inner consciousness to be compartmentalized into some damn active skill. Thank goodness for Gil's supercomputer brain...
