Hey guys! I got this chapter written fast than I thought I would.

I'm finally doing it! I'm starting to write the actual show!

Like I said last chapter, as I reread this story, I think that I'm moving too slow with the plot... so I'm moving faster. Hopefully (fingers crossed) I'm might be able to write episode two soon. No promised though.

I do NOT own Avatar. Only Reyna and her backstory.

Season One, Episode One

THE BOY IN THE ICEBERG

Three Years.

Even now, Reyna couldn't believe that much time had passed.

It had seem like yesterday when she swapped timelines.

Her and Iroh continued to research Past-Reyna and how to find ways to travel through time. So far, they hadn't found much.

Zuko hadn't changed much.

Though he was more friendly towards Reyna, he still yelled and ordered the rest of the crew around like they were mere servants.

In the background, the crew would gossip. Sometimes they would invite Reyna to join them and most of the time she would go. They were surprisingly great!

But, even with the crew, Iroh, and Zuko, time seemed to pass slowly. Reyna couldn't help but miss her family and friends. Shoot, she would even hug Yata if she had a chance.

It was a cold day, which made sense.

The ship was in the icy waters of the South Pole.

It was weird for Reyna to be back. To think, a thousand years ago she was here training. If no one was around, she would have laughed.

Iroh had pulled out his set of Pai Sho, a game which had been considered new in Reyna's time. The two had played four rounds (Iroh had won each one).

Zuko, on the other hand, was on the lookout. He had gotten desperate in his search for the Avatar and had ordered for the ship to sail into cooler territory.

Iroh and Reyna had just started another round of their game when Zuko spoke up.

"Finally." He turned back to them. "Uncle, Rin, do you realize what this means?"

Iroh picked up a tile. "That we won't get to finish our game."

"It means my search is about to come to its end."

Reyna turned her head to look at Zuko, which was a little hard because of the typical Fire Nation armor. Strangely, her body had started to feel... odd. Not weak or hurting. It felt like when you feel like something is wrong, but can't point it out what. It was probably the cold getting to her.

"Um, Zuko… I don't want you to get your hopes up. You might be mistaking a sign for something completely random in nature."

Zuko ignored her.

"That light came from an incredibly powerful source!" He motioned towards the bright beam of light which pointed to the heavens. "It has to be him!"

Iroh sighed in disinterest. "Or it's just the celestial lights. We've been down this road before, Prince Zuko." He picked up one of his pieces, one that had the airbending symbol imprinted on its smooth surface. "I don't want you to get too excited over nothing." He placed the price down and gestured to the open set next to Reyna. "Please, sit. Why don't you enjoy a cup of calming Jasmine Tea."

"And join us in this round." Reyna suggested. "I think I'm getting the hang of this game."

Zuko didn't like those ideas.

"I DON'T NEED ANY CALMING TEA OR GAME TIME! I NEED TO CAPTURE THE AVATAR!"

Did he ever get tired of yelling?

" HELMSMAN, HEAD A COURSE FOR THE LIGHT!"

Apparently not.

The sun had set hours ago, but that didn't mean anyone was asleep.

Everyone was doing something, whether planning, cooking, or helping others.

Iroh had decided to retire to his chambers early. Before he did he approached Reyna. "Could you go tell my young nephew that he should get some sleep. He listens to you."

Reyna nodded. "Of course."

"Thank you." Then, with a yawn, he left Reyna with her probably impossible mission.

"Hey."

Zuko jerked his head back, only to see Reyna. "Hey."

"Exciting time, isn't it."

Zuko only grunted in response.

Reyna pondered her words before speaking them. "You know, you need sleep. My mother always told me, 'if one never sleeps, then one never plays'. I never took her seriously when I was younger. I regret that."

With that stinging thought, Reyna glanced at her folded hands. She really did regret not talking to her mother more often. She didn't even know if you could ever see her again.

Zuko looked at her with a glint of gilt in his eyes. He cleared his throat. "Why don't you head to bed. Perhaps I shall as well later on."

Reyna met his amber eyes. Silence embraced them before Reyna broke it. "Do you really think it's the Avatar?"

Zuko looked back at the direction they were heading towards. "It has to be." Reyna could hear the desperation in his voice. "My honor depends on it."

Honor.

Reyna had tried to talk with him about his "honor". Those talks never ended well.

"OK." She patted his shoulder lightly. "Just don't stay up all night. I'll find out if you do."

Zuko chuckled softly, which was rare. "Good night, Rin."

Reyna turned to walk away so that he didn't see her frown.

A pang of gilt hitting her. She wanted to tell him her real name and her background for years. Fear stopped her.

"Good night, Zuko." Than she left.

Unknown to her, Zuko's gaze didn't leave the spot where she had been standing. A small smile still on his lips.

Zuko's impatience hadn't wavered that night. Instead, it seemed to have grown.

"Again."

Zuko had decided that he needed to train, and Iroh insisted on instructing him. Guess who they chase to be Zuko's training partner.

He started the fight by spreading his arms in Reyna's direction, showering her with flames.

She blocked his attack easily, then sent her own fire attack.

Zuko shifted his weight to duck under her blast.

She shot another blast at his feet.

The prince props himself out of the way.

He twirled around in mid-air and directed another fire blast with his hand and another with his foot.

She jumped out of the way.

Zuko landed and stretched his fists out towards her, ready to face another attack.

Iroh was unimpressed. "No!"

Zuko lowered his arms and faced his uncle.

"Power in firebending comes from the breath," Iroh moved both of his hands upward to emphasize a breathing motion. "not the muscles." He stretched his left arm out asd if he was sending out an attack. "The breath becomes energy in the body. The energy extends past your limbs and becomes," He directed a fire blast at Zuko that evaporated just before it would scorch him. "Fire! Get it right this time."

Zuko frowned. "Enough! I've been drilling this sequence all day. Teach me the next set! I'm more than ready!"

Under her breath Reyna muttered, "Whoa, impatient much?" Thankfully she had on her helmet, so Zuko didn't hear her.

Iroh looked unconvinced. "No, you are impatient." He sat down in his chair. "You have yet to master your basics. Drill it again!"

Zuko clenched his teeth in anger. Then he suddenly turned around and directed a power fire kick toward Reyna.

She attempted to stop the fire blast, but was unable to and was thrown backward onto the deck.

"Hey!" She shouted. "What did I do?"

Zuko didn't answer her. Instead he faced his uncle.

"The sages tell us that the Avatar is the last airbender. He must be over a hundred years old by now. He's had a century to master the four elements! I'll need more than basic firebending to defeat him. YOU WILL TEACH ME THE ADVANCED SET!"

Iroh didn't look too pleased with his nephew's tone. "Very well." Then his expression switched to one of delight. "But first, I must finish my roast duck." From out of nowhere, the old general took out a steaming bowl of meat and started to eat.

Zuko gave him a look of disgust, then walked off.

Still on the ground, Reyna asked "Someone mind helping me up?"

The day went by quickly.

True to his word, Iroh and Zuko had trained for a majority of it.

Reyna sat out, not wanting to be hit again.

"Hey, Zuki,"

"Zuki" was a new nickname she was trying out. Zuko hated it so it seemed to be working.

Zuko gave her a look as she wanted to stand by him. "How's life?"

"There are no traces of the Avatar." He answered. "It must be him. It has to be him."

Reyna bit her bottom lip. "Look. You're not the only one who wants to find that Avatar. For instance, I've been wanting to find him for a while now."

Zuko gave her a look of disbelief. "You? Why?"

Reyna took a breath. "Zuko, there's something I've been wanting to tell you."

He tilted his head slightly. "What?"

"Well, you see... I'm the A-"

She was interrupted by a distress flare being launched in the distance. Zuko was immediately looking at the smoke, the conversation now forgotten. He pulled out his telescope and looked through it.

"The last Airbender." He muttered.

Reyna's eyes widened. "What!"

He handed her the device. Sure enough, she could spot a figure jumping from surface to surface. Zuko took the telescope from her trembling hands and pierced through it again.

"He's quite agile for his old age."

Zuko turned to a passing guard and barked, "Wake my uncle! Tell him I found the Avatar."

He looked back at the scene.

"As well as his hiding place."

There you go! Episode one: The Boy in the Iceberg!

I'm not very good at writing fighting scenes yet, so I looked through the script on the Wiki page and used that.

Also, pay attention to that "feeling" Reyna had. That's going to be explained in future chapters.

This song started playing as I finished writing, and I thought it fit.
