Chapter Nineteen
LOCATION: Final Egg, Mystic Ruins...
TARGET: E-101 BETA...
OBJECTIVE: Liberate E-101 Beta...
MISSION STATUS: In-Progress, Engaging...
Omega flew towards the entrance of Final Egg, wiping out the robot guards waiting for him there. The doors slid open, and he glided through the long shaft that led into the base's interior. He recalled his time here, after first being activated. His memory logs replayed the battle with E-102 Gamma, when Robotnik gave him his first orders.
And now, he was here to obliterate the doctor's forces. No, not just obliterate, liberate. His scans picked up Beta's signal, and the scans warned Omega that Beta had been upgraded and retreated here when the Egg Carrier went down.
Omega primed his weapons once again, and blasted open the door, leading the way into the main room of Final Egg. He surveyed the chamber, scanning for targets, and studied a pair of capsules containing a couple of robots resembling Sonic.
"EXTERMINATE INFERIOR HEDGEHOG ROBOTS!" Omega buzzed.
And thus, he opened fire, blasting a gray Sonic robot, and another gray-colored one. And then, he aimed at the tank containing a blue robot, which he identified as Metal Sonic. The dust settled, and Omega scanned the remnants of the tanks. A blur flew at him, and the E-series robot evaded the incoming attack.
Metal Sonic slashed at Omega, and Omega grabbed him. He threw the robot copy into a wall, and the blue hedgehog Badnik glared at the bulky robot with angry red eyes.
"ALL BADNIKS WILL BE EXTERMINATED AND LIBERATED!" Omega aimed his weapons at Metal.
WHAM! Metal Sonic rocketed into Omega with a spin-dash, knocking the battle robot into the ground. Omega swatted at Metal, trying to push him away. Metal Sonic ducked its head and floated out of the way, then he flew out of the room, leaving Omega behind.
Omega stood, tempted to chase down Metal Sonic, but his priority lay with the current mission at hand. Saving his ammo, Omega hovered towards the door that would lead deeper into the heart of Final Egg, taking him past the training course that he'd been through after his activation. Only, this time, he was not training.
The door opened, and Omega hovered through the corridors of Final Egg, in full battle mode. He found a pair of Badnik Spinnas hovering about a room full of active machinery, and blasted them to pieces. Omega fired on the churning gears, taking out the machines in the room, and then he floated down another corridor, moving deeper into the base.
Final Egg was massive, going from above ground to underground. And, this was where Robotnik had built the Egg Carrier, and extensively planned his plan with Chaos.
Oh, the doctor didn't count on one of his own robots going rogue and blowing up everything.
The red-black robot unleashed his payload, demolishing machinery and rupturing the walls in every direction. Badniks exploded, metal flew everywhere, alarms screamed and flashed red until they were knocked out of commission by the chaos of Omega's attack.
Omega floated into a lift, which carried him down to a lower floor, leading the robot to a room overlooking a large shaft. He shot down Buzz Bombers, and ripped apart the nearest Spinna, then he took a leap of faith in whatever a robot's version of that was. He dropped down the shaft, and smashed his way through a metallic vent.
He slashed the walls, crawling inside the duct, until he broke through a grate and made his way into a large mechanical chamber full of robots and active machinery. And right there, was E-101 Beta, sporting a bulkier body with a sheer amount of weaponry.
"E-101 BETA LOCATED! ENGAGING TARGET!" Omega buzzed.
"E-123 OMEGA IDENTIFIED!" Beta beeped, "DESTROY ROGUE UNIT!"
Beta launched a missile at Omega, who fired a missile of his own. The bulky E-series Badnik skirted out of the way as the two projectiles exploded, shaking the room and knocking out a few Badniks. Omega soared at Beta, and punched him in the head, then he slashed at him, and ripped a chunk of his arm off.
Slightly damaged, Beta fired a laser in Omega's direction, scorching his shoulder plate. Omega retaliated, and fired a barrage of missiles at his brother and several other Badniks in the room. A massive series of blasts shook the chamber, and robot parts fell.
In a second, the smoke cleared, and Omega surveyed the fallen form of Beta. He fired on his head, blasting it off completely. He observed silently as a white Flicky emerged from the ruins, flying around the room, and looking down upon the robot who'd liberated it. Omega nodded towards Beta's remains, then, he departed Final Egg.
E-101 Beta: Rescue complete...
