Within the In-between…
Sixty years…
He put her in this hell hole for sixty agonizing years…
She still remembered that agonizing day he shattered her first plan for the Demon Realm and how she was trapped in the In-Between with the God Child her people worshiped…
Sixty Years ago, near the Beach of Paradise…
The Boiling Rain came as the final battle between the Resistance and the Blood Crusaders lasted for days and days on end… bodies were piling up as blood stained the ground…. Smoke tainted the air as ashes of the dead were burned… broken staffs served as tombstones for the fallen as the cries of battle and screams of pain were echoed for out the land. Arrows, spells, swords, staffs, and all weapons clashed as the warriors were pushed to their absolute limit. The Sigils of the Blood Crusaders against the Coven's powers and unity were the most shocking outcomes ever seen for those who can live to talk about the throws of war.
Their leaders, General Belos the Liberator of the Demon Realm, and Demona Occide Magam the Nun in Red were alone, each giving a cold glare.
"Belos… or do you go by Philip now?" The woman in red with her Reaping Hooks of Purging in her hands, glyphs carved in her skin.
Belos said nothing.
"Philip does sound like a suitable name to me. You don't look like a Bellowing Man."
Nothing came from the man with his Ten Palisman, one in his hand and the others on his back.
"I see you have two more palisman since we last met. A crane and a Vulture… You seem to have an affiliation with birds. I don't really have any affection for them or for Palisman."
His silence was agitating her, causing her to scoff at his demeanor.
"Tell me, General. Why are you so insistent on impeding my plans for purification? The benefits I provide for this rotten realm and the protection from Wild Magic would revolutionize the land, unifying them under a single banner."
Belos finally spoke to the arrogant woman.
"How many have to die for your perfect vision? How many innocents were snuffed out because of you? The people you slaughtered, the lives you ruined, the cultures lost, the families destroyed… my brother." Belos sneered.
"Oh, so you remember Caleb after all this time. He was a hardworking man, shame he fell to the beast and forsaken the cause."
Belos sneered as they began their attack on each other.
Belos awoke with a start as he found himself in his bedroom in the crack of the morning.
"Emperor Belos, the decorators are here. They want to know what fabrics you want for the tables for the party." Blue informed her witch.
"Right, right. Let me have my morning tea to wake my brain. When will Camilla arrive to begin leading the culinary group in the authentic Dominican Cuisine? It will need to be arranged to complement the authentic Boiling Isles courses of foods." Belos asked his faithful Palisman.
"Forty minutes. Kikimora and the others of the staff are arranging the events for the party. Luzura's armor and weapons are cleaned with her tiara glimmering shinier than a star. Everything is according to the schedule." Blueberry Parfait informed as Belos got dressed for the day, "The Coven scouts are also closing in on the Blood Crusaders and their conspirators. They will be captured or executed before the coronation begins."
"See that is so. Those monsters have already mucked about the lives of the Demon Realm for too long. Time to cut out the cancer."
"Yes, sir."
At the Owl House…
Luz was looking over Philip Wittebane's notes with her friends, not her father but the ancestor her father took his name after.
The man was as brilliant as her own father, the greatest engineer in magical equipment, mechanics, robotics, Palisman Carving, and other possible inventions. It was oblivious to where her dad's brain came from. The blueprints and different ideas that came from the man were truly amazing. But that's not it either. No, Philip was actually a Puritan Doctor before he discovered his talent for creating things. In fact, he invented prostheses for people. It seemed people didn't need a doctor in this realm since they can heal themselves.
He gives credit to his brother though, saying he helped him adapt to this new world and even invented the first prosthetic for him to replace his leg during an accident.
"Woah, the way he details them… they look like they could only be built a few years ago. This is beyond revolutionary." Will marveled at the notes the Echo Mouse provided for them.
"That's... weird. Why would something like this, something that looks like last year's designs be made hundreds of years before?" Amity wondered.
"It could be that these inventions were lost when Demona took over. I've heard that the Demon Realm was set back for hundreds of years because of the war." Hunter answered, his anger clear for the woman and what she did to his home before he was born.
"Yeah, the way Uncle talks about her, she was a plague to the Demon Realm. What she was doing to the Isles would have killed everyone."
"I wonder why people followed her," Willow questioned as Gus pulled out a book about her.
"According to some of the books, it was believed that she could talk to the Gods known as the Archivists and the Collectors, beings from the stars." Gus answered showing a biography of the mysterious woman, "She came out of nowhere and claimed that she could talk to them, like how the emperor can talk to the Titan. Apparently, from what I've read, they considered a Titan a monster that corrupts magic while the Archivists wish to purify them."
"Again, nutjobs. Uncle Belos did the right thing taking them down." Spade huffed at the thought of them.
"It sounds like she and my dad were really pitted against each other by Gods," Luz muttered.
"Uncle chose to fight against Demona to save the isles as the Titan's Champion, but it is believed that Demona lied about her connections with the Star Gods for something bigger," Hunter answered his cousin.
Then they suddenly heard a clap from behind and the Royal Family was excited to see the eldest brother Wittebane, Atticus. Muscular, tall, blond with glasses and a sea creature palisman for an arm with a smile on his face.
"Brother!" The Wittebane brothers squealed as Luz joined in to hug the man.
"It's nice to see you all again. I thought I drop by here first before returning back to Edwin back at the palace." Dr. Atticus Wittebane greeted, "It's nice to meet you and your charming friends."
Willow, Gus, and Amity grinned and waved to the famous man while he chuckled a bit at their enthusiasm.
"Well, let's head back to the palace. I know the party is in a few days, but I got big news for everyone. Uncle Belos or Aunt Camila won't want to miss this. They are going to burst with joy." Atticus informed as the kids were curious.
"Dr. Wittebane I am a huge fan of your study into magic and mentality. You really are amazing!" Gus fond over the former Golden Guard.
"Why thank you. It is nice to see my work helping others and inspiring youths." He grinned as Hunter secretly felt a little insecure.
Everyone was soon led out of the house to the palace to meet with the Royals to hear the big news.
