I arrive at the source of the distress beacon and it's seems to be under siege by a large group of organized raiders. I can tell immediately that the people under siege are some group of Enclave, probably the people who are sending out the radio broadcast or at least a detachment sent north on a reconnaissance mission. Most of the men are in standard dark blue combat Armor instead of regular Enclave Black. Makes sense as black could send the wrong message. However the power armor is all gold plated from the looks of it. That's one way to use gold I guess. Everything is so disorganized that they don't notice that I just walk right into the base, which has an older style Pre-War flag with 60 Stars and under it a 'Make America Great Again' flag.

I go up to one of the men in power armor to try to get a read to the situation. "Soldier what is going on here?" I ask.

"Oh, I didn't see you Sir, you must be an officer from out West or something. Haven't seen an old style officer uniform in awhile. Good thing you're here. It's complete chaos." The Soldier tells me.

"Well who is your commanding officer?" I ask.

"It was General Johnson, but he was killed in a ambush along with a few other officers. Currently the highest ranking person here is a coms officer who like the rest of us has no real combat experience."

"Take me to them then." I fallow the soldier in Gold Power Armor through the chaos to what looks to be a makeshift command center. Inside is a girl, most likely no taller than five feet, with brown hair and blue eyes and a few other soldiers. Unlike the other soldiers this girl wore a dark blue jumpsuit and had a Pip-boy.

"Specialist ma'am! An officer from another sect has arrived to aid us." He announced as soon as we came in with a solute.

"At ease, and thank you private." She said revealing a interesting set of dental work on her teeth.

"I am Specialist Samantha Washington-Lee and welcome to my shitshow…" see says holding her hand out.

I shake it. "I'm Captain Lawrence Smith, pleasure to meet you specialist. What's the situation?" We stop shanking hands.

"Even though we outnumber the enemy 2-1 due to everyone being new recruits and all of our experienced officers being dead, our people are dropping like bloat flies. I work in communications mostly so I have no clue how to actually command troops. Mostly just been trying to keep everyone alive until we could get help."

"Can you tell me anything about who we are up against?"

"Raiders that are just a bit more organized than your typical Raiders. Every state has that one Raider gang that is like that. Basically portray themselves as mercenaries or something but in reality they're just organized raiders. Some how they must have gotten word that we were inexperienced recruits and decided to come after us."

"So they normally say away?"

"Yeah, our advanced weaponry is a deterrent however it's obvious that they are trying to get their hands on it and the power armor."

"I mean when you cover it in gold."

"The President really likes Gold. We are lucky our uniforms are not gold also. Plus those are more guard units. Units meant for more delicate missions are not plated with Gold."

"What was the mission?"

"To establish a radio tower in order to extend the range of the President's radio broadcasts."

"I see, well what we need to do is have the men organize into makeshift fire teams doesn't matter if they are in the same squad or not. I just need to restore order to our forces. Then we will launch a full frontal assault and try to break them using our superior numbers."

"Do you think that it will work?"

"It has to, if not, it will at least throw these raiders off and force them to rethink the situation. Give us some breathing room."

"Understood, we will relay the orders."

I get back out there, despite it being risky for me to do so, the troops need a moral boost. I keep down, helping to fend off the enemy from behind cover. The Specialist returns to me.

"Everything is pretty much set. We are just awaiting your order to attack Sir." She says with a Plasma pistol in her shaking hands.

"Relax, I will make sure you get out of this alive." I tell her.

"Please don't promise that Sir. That just makes me more nervous."

I then face forward and yell the order. "All troops, Charge!" Then everyone begins the full frontal assault.

It's hectic but not as chaotic as it was when I first got here. Be start to push the Raiders back forcing them to retreat to their second line of defenses. "Tactical withdraw!" I order knowing that if we don't we could easily be flanked now that the enemy is no longer on the run and any prolonged fighting out in the open in an attempt to break through would be disastrous. So we slowly withdraw back to our defenses. However that offensive gave us the much needed morale boost and breathing room to plan our next move.
