Chapter 82: Senate Murders
Searching for the truth is easy. Accepting the truth is hard.
Recap: War on many fronts! While battles are fought by Clones in the field. A different war is waged on the Galactic Senate. As heavy losses add up, a group of senators led by Halle Burtoni of Kamino proposes an escalation of troop production. Senator Padmé Amidala recognizing that more troops will only prolong the fighting. Works tirelessly with her allies to introduce a bill to cut military spending and stop the creation of more clone troopers.
After the speech that Padmé gave, the voting for the bill on whether or not more troops should be secured. After the speech, the entire Senate was now taking the time to discuss and think over the decision.
"Yes, of course, Senator. Thank you for telling me yourself. I completely understand." said Padmé as she ended the transmission and got up from her seat.
Padmé had some guests in her office as she made her way toward the couch area.
"Did we lose someone else's vote?" asked Ono's aid, named Lolo.
"Senator Stank is worried about Republic opinion. But he wants us to know how very sorry he is," replied Padmé as she sat down.
"Sorry doesn't get us votes," responded Lolo.
"We will get votes when in your speech, you will convince people to stand up for what they know is right," replied Ono to his assistant.
"I hope you're right, Uncle. You have been doing an amazing job, rallying votes to our side," said Padmé.
"Chos koo, Senator Farr. Keelap mala nah sootah Rodia feeching. Trulan nee wankpah." said Lolo to her boss.
"Perhaps, I am the most influential man on Rodia, Lolo. But after all the mistakes I've made, peace... is what matters to me now," responded Ono.
"Senator Amidala, they're ready for your speech now. It's time," said Senator Organa as he appeared.
"We will see you in the chamber, Senator Amidala," said the last representative in the room as they all got up and headed toward the room.
"Good luck, Padme," said Rarity as she made some final adjustments to her appearance.
"It is quite exciting," said Ono.
"It isn't exactly the word I would use. I think terrifying is more appropriate," said Padmé as she felt slightly nervous.
"Pay her no mind, Senator Organa. Even as a girl, Padme downplayed her strengths. Helps to maintain the element of surprise." said Ono.
"I learned it from you," responded Padmé with a smile. "See you inside, Senators."
The senators all gave Padmé a bow as she entered the room with the others going to their rooms. She got on her repulsorpod as she began to make her speech for the entire Senate to hear.
"The creation of more warriors will not end this war. The final cost alone will bankrupt and cripple the Republic. By adding more clones to the conflict, we're only escalating the destruction, not winning the war. Which is why we must vote for this resolution to promote more diplomacy and to bring an end to this killing and hatred."
Padmé gave her speech as many audience members stood up and applauded her. One of the members was shown as he merely took in and examined Padmé. The Senator exited the room as she was about to enter the hallway when she spotted someone in her path.
"That was quite a moment, my dear," said the person who was just shown.
"Thank you, Senator Deechi," said Padmé as she held a stern expression.
"Oh, it wasn't a compliment. You shouldn't make speeches like that. It's unpatriotic." replied Senator Deechi.
"The only thing I find unpatriotic is your war-mongering," responded Padmé as she left the man and went on her way.
In Padmé's office, a small celebration was being held as some drinks were brought out.
"Truly, you have turned the tide," said Ono as he presented some drinks to Padmé and another senator. They all clinked their glass and took a sip.
"My dear, you were brilliant," said Senator Mon Mothma.
"Thank you. But perhaps, we should wait until we actually win the vote before we make a victory speech," said Padmé.
"What a novel idea. Imagine that. Amidala's actually making sense for once in her life." said a voice as it belonged to another senator who decided to drop by and make her presence known.
"Senator Burtoni. This is a private conversation," stated Padmé to the Kaminoan senator.
"Private conversation or separatist conspiracy?" asked the old Kaminoan.
"How dare you? We're not pro-separatist. We want to end the war." stated Lolo.
"Committing more troops to the front lines will not allow diplomacy to resume," responded Padmé.
"Diplomacy failed the Republic long ago," said Senator Burtoni as and Padmé got in each other's faces.
"Senators, please!" said Mon Mothma, trying to get both sides to calm down.
"Senator Burtoni, the Kaminoans might have bartered their creation of the clones into a seat in the Galactic Senate. But this does not give you free rein. Thank you for visiting, Senator. We would like to continue our meeting now... if you don't mind, " said Ono as he walked up to Senator Burtoni, backing up toward the exit due to Ono.
"Enjoy your moment in the spotlight, Senators. This war will not end soon," said Senator Burtoni as she exited the room; in the hallway, Senator Deechi saw her and joined her.
"Well, we must be doing something right if we've rattled Senator Burtoni," stated Rarity as she and Fluttershy entered and saw the Kaminoan leaving.
"What matters is that we've made great strides in our fight against this bill. Ono, you've done a wonderful job leading the effort.," said Mon Mothma.
"I'm just trying to do what's right. I only wish I'd tried doing that a long time ago," said Ono as he recalled turning on Padmé to work for Gunray.
"You're doing it now," responded Mon Mothma.
"To victory and an end to this war," said Senator Organa as he made a toast.
"To victories," said Padmé as she raised her glass with the others.
The girls watched the senators drink as they were brought glasses of cider and made their own toast before taking a sip. At that moment, something began to happen.
"My heart, I can't breathe," said Ono as he gasped and began to sway.
"Uncle? What is it?" asked Padmé as Senator Farr fell to the floor. "Ono! It's his heart! Please! Someone get help!"
Every scrambled as the senator lay on the floor. It was now later, as a massive gathering of people was assembled. The reason being is that Ono's heart had collapsed. Everyone was now honoring Ono's passing; as for Padmé, she was shown shedding a few tears at seeing the person who she considered an uncle was no longer with her. Rarity and Fluttershy were shown as the fashionista made outfits for them fitting for a funeral. Master Yoda, Windu, Celestia, and Luna were present as they represented the Jedi to pay their respects to the senator.
"And we are all aware that Ono Condo was a flawed man. He knew better than anyone of his own mistakes. But he never compromised his principles. And what he did, he did for his people. Their needs always came first." said the Rodian who was giving the eulogy.
The coffin carrying Ono was shown as being loaded onto a ship that would take the body back to Rodia for a proper burial. Everyone saw the ship leave as they all began to leave.
"Senator, if you need anything," said Organa to Padmé as he knew what she was feeling.
"What we need is to get his resolution passed," stated Padmé as she was going to ensure that her uncle's work wasn't in vain and honor his legacy.
Padmé saw Lolo as she was clutching her arm; for the female Rodian, she was the protege of Ono. And now that he was gone, it seemed she had no idea what to do.
"He was my mentor. I don't know how to carry on without him guiding me," said Lolo.
"I know. No one could ever take his place," said Padmé as she comforted her friend.
"Excuse me. Chancellor Palpatine has summoned both of you to his chambers." stated a Senate commando to both of them.
"What's happened?" asked Padmé as she and Lolo arrived at the Chancellor's office; there was Organa, Mon Mothma, Fluttershy, Rarity, and many other politicians. However, the biggest thing was the many police droids scattered around the room.
"I'm afraid, my friends, that Lieutenant Divo here has some questions about Senator Farr," said the Chancellor as an inspector was present.
"Do you know of anyone who... how to put this... hated Senator Farr? Enough to kill him?" asked Lieutenant Divo to the room full of politicians.
"What?" said Padmé
"I'll need to find out who wanted to hurt Senator Farr. Actually, kill him would be more accurate. What with him being dead." said Lieutenant Divo.
"No one wanted him dead everyone loved him well," said Lolo as she and Padmé took a seat.
"That's obviously not true, or I wouldn't be here, and he would," said the inspector.
"Lieutenant, even Ono's political enemies respected him. We need time to deal with this situation," said Organa.
"Time, time, there's no time. A murderer's on the loose, and it's my job to find him," responded the lieutenant.
"Ahem, what makes you think it was murder," asked Padmé as she cleared her throat to stop the lieutenant from rambling on in his muttering.
"Poison, of course. The politician's preferred method. Found a chemical in his bloodstream that killed him right away. It's an obvious case. Politicians always have something to hide. And it always comes back to haunt them. Am I right?" said the lieutenant as he looked at all the gathered politicians and the Chancellor. "Look who I am asking, a room full of politicians. So one of Farr's secrets must have resurfaced."
"Ono had no secrets. That's not it. Perhaps someone was upset about the clone-troop bill currently on the floor. It's very controversial." said Padmé.
"Thank you, Senator... Amidala, is it? But I already have my theory, and I'll follow my hunch if you don't mind. After all, I am the inspector. You are the Senator. So I'll handle the inspecting, and you can stick to the 'senating.' Good day." said Lieutenant Divo as he dismissed himself with the police droids following behind.
"Murder. It's inconceivable," said the Chancellor to all.
It was later as Padmé and her friends were walking in the hallway as they were discussing the new info that was revealed about Ono's death.
"Who would wish Ono Conda harm? What if it's the bill?" said Mothma.
"What if we're all being targeted?" said Lolo.
"Speculation gets us nowhere. There is work to do. We should double our efforts on the vote. It'll be even harder with Ono gone." said Organa as he was trying to not let their imaginations get the best of them.
"No, no, we should delay the vote," said Padmé.
"But, why?" asked Mothma.
"No one will give the vote their full attention until they know what's happened to Ono," replied the Senator from Naboo.
"Well, maybe I can put a motion on the floor. I don't think anyone will object, given the circumstances," said Organa.
"Good. And we'll have time to conduct our own investigation," said Padmé.
"Detective Divo specifically asked us not to interfere," said Mothma.
"Well, he didn't exactly inspire confidence, did he? He didn't know Ono. We did. We'll have a far easier time looking into this than detective Divo will." stated Padmé.
"Running around could disrupt our coalition," said Organa as they still had to defeat the proposed bill.
"Yet you still seem determined to see this through," said Mothma.
"Indeed I am," responded Padmé.
"And I don't suppose you'd consider bringing .. Captain Typho along with you?" asked Mothma.
"No. I'd rather do this quietly," said Padmé.
"Then perhaps, Senator Organa, you should accompany her," suggested Mothma to her friend.
"I think that's an excellent idea."
"I don't need a guardian," said Padmé as she could take care of herself.
"Of course not, my dear. Think of it as precautionary," said Mothma.
"Don't worry, I won't get in your way," stated Organa as he knew how Padmé operated.
"Very well, I don't have any objections. And I know exactly where to start," said the Naboo senator as she and Organa left to visit one of their opposing foes from the other side.
"You're suggesting one of us killed Ono Conda Farr?" chuckled Senator Deechi as the pair arrived in his office.
"How delightful," said Senator Burtoni, as the Kaminoan senator was also in his office when they arrived.
"I don't find any of this amusing," stated Organa with a scowl.
"Neither do I," said Padmé, as she didn't like that her political foes were making fun of her deceased uncle.
"Every time Ono opened his befuddled mouth, it gave us another quote to use in our fund-raising. Why would we kill our best source of income?" asked Senator Burtoni.
"You both opposed Ono's ideas in the Senate. With enough at stake. Maybe you decided to silence his voice for good." stated Padmé.
"Onaconda and I were often at odds, but I respected him. I respected him greatly," answered Senator Deechi honestly.
"For the record, I had no respect for Onaconda whatsoever," replied Senator Burtoni rather bluntly as she took a sip from her drink.
"Ono had a secret meeting at the docks on the derrick major the night before he died," said Senator Deechi.
"And you just happened to know about this meeting, how?" asked Senator Organa.
"Oh, I was having Ono followed. Just because I respected Ono doesn't mean I wasn't trying to get dirt on him," smiled Senator Deechi.
"Of course," replied Organa.
"The point is... a clandestine, off-the-books meeting under cover of darkness. Perhaps that location holds some clue," said the senator.
"Fine, I will go look. But whatever we find, I'll have more questions for both of you," stated Padmé as she and Organa left.
It was nighttime on Coruscant as the docks were shown. Some flashlights were shown as they belonged to some figures.
"Have I said that I think we're very far out of our element here?" said Organa to Padmé as they were sneaking out the docks.
"Yes, Bail, I believe you've mentioned it once... or twice," said Padmé as she pulled out her blaster, as Organa did the same.
"Honestly, I don't know why you keep dragging me into your business, Padmé!" shouted Rarity as the fashionista appeared.
Once Padmé and Organa were about to head out, the senator from Naboo had instructed them to make a quick stop. They arrived at Rarity's apartment, and the moment the door opened, the fashionista was dragged by her collar by her friend. Rarity was kicking and screaming as she knew what that meant, which got everyone in the apartment to wake up and see the girl being forced against her will to go on the mission. While Fluttershy was joining them due to Organa bringing her along, Rarity was still angry at what Padmé did.
"Settle down, Rarity," said Padmé to her drama queen friend.
"You know I was about to get my beauty sleep!" growled the girl, as she wasn't a fan of staying up late, especially when she had work to do in the morning.
"Let's settle down, please," said Fluttershy as she tried to avoid arguments.
"Before I forget," said Organa as he pulled out a small weapon and gave it to the animal-loving girl.
"You're giving her a blaster?!" said Rarity as she thought giving someone as peaceful as Fluttershy a firearm was absurd.
"I trained her to handle one," said Organa as he quickly changed the setting to stun so Fluttershy wouldn't feel guilty about killing someone.
The Senator from Alderaan then took point as he began to walk ahead.
"Which means, here you go, Rarity!" said Padmé as she shoved a spare blaster in her friend's arm before following Organa.
"Oh, why me,. Why couldn't we just contact Storm or Twilight to handle this?" complained the fashionista before she and Fluttershy followed the two senators.
The four were walking along the docks as they each had a flashlight in hand with their weapon in the other, all out in case of any danger. A hooded figure was above the cargo containers as they explored the docks. They saw the group and pulled a lever, and a crane began to move.
"Using this investigation to bury your grief might not be the best way to..."
"I'm not!" said Padmé as she cut off Organa.
The crane above them was now moving as it was directly over their heads.
"Then why can't you just leave it to Lieutenant Divo?" asked Fluttershy to the senator.
Before she could answer, the crane above let go of the cargo it was holding. It was falling as Padmé saw this; she quickly shoved Fluttershy and Organa before grabbing Rarity and diving to the ground. The container landed with a thud as it almost squashed the group.
"Fluttershy?" asked Organa to the girl.
"I'm fine," said the buttercup girl with a smile as it relieved Organa.
With Padmé and Rarity, the figure saw them and began to fire at them. Both quickly hid behind the crates as Padmé got out and began to fire at the hooded figure, who began to run away. The senator chased them before grabbing Rarity with her as the fashionista screamed again.
"Padme!" called out Bail as he and Fluttershy banged on the container to see if their friends could hear them.
They took off in hopes of reuniting with their friends. With Padmé and Rarity, they ran along a path as they kept their eyes up to see where the figure was. They were coming to a corner as Padmé peeked out but quickly tucked back in as a shot was fired. The figure continued running as Padmé and Rarity continued chasing after them.
At the same time, Organa and Fluttershy also made their way toward their friends. With the other half, they followed the figure as they ran along more containers. They turned the corner as they came to a dead end. Padmé kept her guard up as she scanned the area. Soon a sound was heard as both turned.
"Wait!" said Organa as he and Fluttershy appeared.
"Watch out!" shouted the animal-loving girl.
The figure fired as all four moved out of the way. They all fired at the figure, who quickly got up and moved again. They continued to follow the figure as they turned the corner. They were now out of the main area of the docks as nearby, the figure pushed a button and disappeared. The button made a container release as it was about to crush them. They all moved as Organa was nearly crushed; however, he tumbled and was now hanging off the edge. Rarity and Fluttershy rushed to help the senator as Padmé looked ahead to see the figure getting away. She made her choice as she went back to help the girls.
All three pulled Bail up as they took some deep breaths. Soon the sounds of sirens were heard as the container that fell off and crashed to the ground below caught some nearby attention, especially a police droid who informed his comrades. The four were being questioned as Padmé told one of the police droids what happened as the others investigated the docks.
"Senator Amidala, is it possible you might be going deaf?" said Lieutenant Divo as he appeared.
"Lieutenant?"
"Because when I said, I didn't want you to interfere with my investigation. I can only assume you didn't hear me."
"I had some information about a lead here at the docks," said Padmé.
"Which you naturally brought to me straight away so I could investigate... only... no wait... you did exactly the opposite of that. There are rules, Senator." stated Lieutenant Divo.
"My friend was murdered. I don't care about rules!" shouted Padmé.
"Don't care about rules? My dear, without rules, there's only chaos. Everyone must care about rules." said the lieutenant placing a hand on Organa's shoulder.
"We know that," responded Organa as he took the hand off his shoulder.
"But now you've alerted the killer that you're on to him. And my investigation is that much harder. Do you have any idea how many reports I'll have to file now?" said Lieutenant Divo.
"We alerted the killer?" said Padmé as she thought about that.
"Yes, that is what I'm saying."
"What if we were sent here on purpose?" said Padmé to all.
"To the docks?" asked Organa.
"Yes! What if this was all a setup. What if Deechi sent us here just so he could kill us." stated Padmé.
"If we hurry, we might still be able to catch Deechi before he leaves the Senate," said Bail.
"Agreed!" said Padmé as all four began to take off.
"But wait, I'm still investigating. This is still an active crime scene. You can't... Oh, fine!" said Lieutenant Devo as he had no choice but to follow the group.
The whole group, the lieutenant and his forces, made it to the Senate building. They arrived at the door to the senator's office as they entered inside.
"Senator Deechi, I'm sure you're surprised to see me after what you..." Padmé turned the senator's chair as they saw the man not moving as a dagger was in his chest. "Oh! He's dead."
"He's been stabbed!" said Bail.
"This is definitely going to require another report," said Lieutenant Devo as he appeared.
Following the murder of Senator Deechi, Padmé and her friends were all gathered in her office. The door opened as in came the lieutenant accompanied by some police droids.
"The killer is obviously targeting the leadership. You must stay here under my protection," said Lieutenant Devo to all the senators, as well as Fluttershy and Rarity, as it was possible the killer could go after them for being associated with the senators.
"Why? So the killer can take us all out at once?" stated Lolo.
"Oh, that's preposterous. Even if the killer did get through my security, it's very unlikely that all of you would end up dead," replied the lieutenant.
"We are far too easy a target sitting here. I am leaving," said Lolo.
"No, you can't leave, Lolo. I think... in this instance, the inspector is right," said Padmé to her friend as Lolo merely shook her head.
"Out of my way," said Lolo as she bumped shoulders with the inspector as she wasn't going to take any chances of being killed.
"Who else knew you were going to the docks?" asked the lieutenant as he just let the female Rodian leave.
"Just Senator Bertoni. She was the only other one in the room with us," answered Padmé.
"Bertoni, eh?" said the inspector as he left.
The lieutenant was now walking toward the office of Senator Bertoni as he wanted to ask her some questions. He arrived as the door opened up and walked in. Some police droids were inside, inspecting the office, but there was no sign of the old Kaminoan.
"Sir, Senator Bertoni is not here," said one of the police droids as he approached the inspector.
"Yeah. Looks like that long-necked Kaminonan has flown the coop," said the lieutenant as he looked at the tablet the police droid gave him. He handed it back as he left his men to continue to find some clues as he made his way back to the group.
He entered the room and began to speak with Mothma as Padmé was in deep thought.
"It's been a difficult time. You've handled yourself well," said Organa to his friend.
"I had to try. Ono believed if you see injustice, you can't wait for someone else to fix it. You must stand up and get involved." said Padmé as she took that lesson from her uncle to heart was the driving point as to why she did what she did.
"He did," responded Organa.
At that moment, a scream was heard.
"Rarity, enough with the screaming!" said Padmé.
"That wasn't me, darling," said the fashionista to her friend.
"Fluttershy?" asked Organa.
"Nope," said the girl to the senator.
"Help! I have been attacked. She's over there." said Lolo as she came in, stumbling through the door. "She tried to kill me."
"What happened?" asked Mothma to Lolo, who was horrified.
"Senator Bertoni. She jumped me. She's in the east wing corridor. Hurry!" stated Lolo.
"Guards, go!" ordered the inspector.
It wasn't long before the Kaminoan was put into custody as they brought her before the group.
"You're insane. I didn't kill anyone. The last thing I remember, I was walking to my office. Then I woke up here." said Senator Bertoni as they were all in Chancellor Palpatine's office.
"Senator Lolo has a very different story. She says you attacked her," stated Lieutenant Devo.
"Attacked her? Lolo?" said the Kaminoan as she looked at the Rodian, who was cowering in fear. "If I ever attack someone, I hope it will be someone mildly important." joked Senator Bertoni.
"Someone like Senator Farr?" asked the inspector.
"Ono was a harmless bug. I wouldn't bother killing him. And Deechi was my ally." stated the Kaminoan.
"I've been thinking about how you were in Senator Amidala's office right before Farr died," said the inspector.
"So what?" asked Senator Bertoni.
"And I've been thinking about how you were in Deechi's office to hear about the meeting at the docks. A meeting I think Farr has with you."
"It wasn't me! You have no proof!" stated Bertoni as she pleaded her innocence.
The inspector smiled as he snapped his fingers. A small servant droid appeared as it held something.
"No? I have this. I ordered an extensive forensic report on Farr as soon as he died." said Lieutenant Devo as he had another tablet in his hand. "The poison which killed Farr only affects Rodian blood. And it was developed by Kamonian scientists."
"But... that's... I didn't kill him!" said Bertoni.
"You're Kamanoain. You had access to the poison. That's motive, means, and opportunity. Guards!" said the inspector as he had his suspect and was having his men prepare to take her away.
"But the scan must be wrong," said Padmé as they were about to take Senator Bertoni away, "If the poison was in all our drinks. Lolo would have died too."
"What?" said the lieutenant as he looked at Padmé.
"She's Rodian. She'd have been poisoned too... unless she didn't drink. But you drank, right, Lolo?" said Padmé, as the Rodian was merely shifting her eyes, left and right. "Lolo, you didn't drink. Did you?"
Padmé had put together the pieces, but it was too late. Lolo now had a blaster aimed at Padmé's head as it turned out she was the culprit.
"You're right. I should have pretended to drink. Alright, You're coming with me for insurance." stated the Rodain as she grabbed Padmé and took her hostage.
Everyone stood still as they didn't dare take any risks for fear of Padmé's life. However, Palpatine smiled a bit as it seemed his little problem with Padmé would be taken care of naturally.
"Why did you kill Ono?" asked Padmé as she was held at gunpoint and slowly walked back.
"He brought war to my planet," stated the Rodian.
"No! He made a mistake, Lolo," stated Padmé.
"Which everyone seemed to forget, including you. I didn't!" said Lolo as she turned Padmé around to have the blaster aim right at her face. "Did you honestly think he had the moral right to lead us? After he betrayed us?"
"He was sorry!" stated Padmé.
"He was weak! We needed someone of strength to stand against this war. I tried to scare him at the docks. But he wouldn't go away, so I removed him." stated Lolo. "And then I heard Deechi heard about the meeting. He had to go too."
While they were talking, Lieutenant Devo was touching some buttons on his tablet as some police droids came online. They arrived as the doors opened, and Lolo saw them.
"Halt! Put down your weapon!" said the droids.
Padmé took that distraction and smacked the blaster from Lolo's hand. She punched Lolo as she, knocked her out and fell to the floor. Safe to say, it pained Padmé to see that her friend betrayed her and killed her uncle, but it had to be done. Soon the inspector and the police droids put Lolo in cuffs and began to take her away.
It was now later as the voting for the bill on whether or not more clones would be created was now over. Everyone had gathered as the Chancellor was about to announce the results.
"With the final votes tallied. Let it be known that the motion to stop the creation of more clone troops has failed. And the continued manufacturing of clone troopers shall proceed as scheduled after all that." said Palpatine as he read the voting results.
While smiling when he announced that, Padmé had a sad look on her face as it seemed their whole plan to stop the bill had ultimately failed. With all that had happened the past few days, it seems the Republic was dead set on having more clones to win the war. She wasn't the only one, as Organa and their friends were sad to hear that; however, Senator Bertoni smiled as the creation of more clones meant more money for her and her kind.
The Senate was dismissed as Padmé and Organa walked out with sad expressions. They were walking in the hallway when they came upon the Chancellor.
"After all that. We lost," said Padmé.
"I know this decision was most unexpected. I myself don't support it, but democracy must stand," said Palpatine as he led Padmé away with Organa following behind the Chancellor's security squad.
"Of course, you were right, Chancellor," said the Naboo senator.
"Actually, given recent events, perhaps it is for the best. How can we justify fortifying our security here in the Senate if we don't also provide reinforcements on the front lines?" asked the Chancellor to Padmé. "You see, the victory of the clone army, for now, is the only thing that can lead us to peace."
With that, the Chancellor left Padmé as he walked away. Organa had caught up with her as they watched the Chancellor leave. It seemed they had no choice but to put their faith in the Chancellor and the idea that the clones would help bring peace to the entire galaxy once the war was over.
Author's Note: Ever since Mandalore, there's been an overarching theme for this season and that's politics. Normally when you think of Clone Wars, you think of war and fighting. But yet, people forget that a war isn't just about fighting; it's also about politics and how they influence the war. And it shows based on many episodes we've had where the main plot had to do with either government, corruption, etc... Up to now, there hasn't been much fighting or Jedi as the main focus is to those behind the scenes and those in court. And these last few chapters along with this one show just how intense the politics can be. And that's one of the best things about Clone Wars, that it doesn't just focus on the war in terms of fighting, but also other people and the ideals happening. As always, leave a review expressing your thoughts.
