Chapter 84: Monster
Evil is not born, it is taught.
Recap: A bid for revenge! Betrayed and left for dead by Count Dooku, Asajj Ventress has begun a deadly game with her former master, launching a secret assassination attempt against him with the help of her kin, the mysterious Nightsisters. Deceived into thinking the Jedi were behind the recent attack, Dooku has traveled across the galaxy to enlist the Nightsisters in his quest for vengeance.
A ship was leaving the planet Serenno as it was heading toward Dathomir. Watching this was Sunset as the girl saw Dooku's ship leaving as he was going to talk with Mother Talzin about recruiting a new apprentice and having a new ally for their side. The teen recalled her small meeting with the Sith Lord as he informed her of this development.
(Flashback)
"You really think this is smart?" stated Sunset.
"With Ventress gone, we need all the help we can get to defeat the Republic and the Jedi," responded Dooku, as that statement was only half-true.
"So, what, you're gonna find another assassin that's going to fail you?" snickered the girl as she felt like whoever Dooku's new apprentice was, she would do the same as Ventress.
"This one will be different, I assure you, Sunset."
"It'd better. Besides, don't forget the promise you made to me all those years ago," stated the girl.
"And you shall have it," said Dooku as he stood up from his desk and began to prepare to leave.
The door closed behind the Sith Lord as Sunset took a moment to think. She recalled the previous night's attack as the girl felt her old comrade's presence. But Dooku had said several times that she was dead. So either he was lying, or Ventress really was alive. Regardless, Sunset had her own motives. And that involved getting what she was owed.
(End of Flashback)
With the Sith Lord temporarily gone, the girl had the castle all to herself. She turned as she entered back into the fortress. Sunset entered the training area as she recalled the first time she stepped foot to begin her ways in the Dark Side. Sunset walked to the center of the room as droids surrounded the girl with all their guns aimed at her.
Sunset took a deep breath as her eyes then shot open. The droids began to open fire on the girl as they were instructed to kill her. The teen turned on her lightsaber and began twirling it around her body as she blocked all the attacks. She then leaped into the air and behind some droids as she sliced them with no mercy. The droids kept firing at her as Sunset stuck her hand out and used the Force to push some of them back.
The next wave of droids came rushing out as they fired at Sunset. The girl growled as she ran toward them and, without a second thought, cut them down to size as she moved with such anger and fury as it was what boosted her power. Sunset did a downward slash to the droid as she cut it down the middle clean.
A dagger then flew through the air as Sunset moved her head back, as it almost stabbed her face. It stuck to the wall as the girl looked at who threw the weapon as Commando droids were now present. Sunset got a better defensive position as she knew these droids were much tougher.
There were three droids in front of her as they began to stalk the girl from the front. One had their blaster trained on her as the other two had their daggers out, ready for hand-to-hand combat with the teen. Sunset kept a calm composure as she watched her enemies' movements. Sneaking up behind the girl was another Commando droids as he had his dagger ready to stab Sunset in the back. He crept from one of the pillars and lunged with lightning-fast speed. However, Sunset's reflexes were much faster.
The girl sensed her foe behind her as she turned with such speed that not only did she catch the arm of the droid, but she slammed it over her head and onto the ground in front of her, all in the blink of an eye. The girl wasted no time in stabbing the droid as he was helpless on the ground and killing it. The Commando droid holding the blaster fired some shots as the other two ran at her. Sunset blocked the shots fired as she returned the last one to hit the blaster and render it useless.
The girl then began to move in place as she dealt with the two droids trying to double-team her. Sunset moved her lightsaber up and then quickly down as she had to jump to avoid a deadly lunge from the dagger. She then did a parkour side flip as she leaped over a high and low attack and landed behind the droids.
She then blocked their next attack as she moved her blade up and down within three seconds before twirling in place and then doing a backspin. She landed and then blocked an overhead attack before pushing the droid away and sidestepping the droid going for a stab as she sliced its arms off and then chopped its head off.
The second droid lunged for another attack as Sunset moved her head, as a tuff of her hair was sliced off; the small strands fell to the floor. The girl tumbled to a knee and brought her hand up to the spot where the droid sliced off some of her hair as she was seething. The droid began to run but was quickly lifted into the air as Sunset approached the droid with the angriest and furriest look. The girl glared at the robot as it committed the ultimate sin.
"DO NOT TOUCH MY HAIR!" yelled Sunset at the top of her lungs.
She then began to close her hand as the droid was shaking from all the pressure compressing it. Soon, the robot's head began to shake as it exploded into a million pieces as it hung in the air, its body not moving as the droid was headless. Sunset threw her hand to the side as the droid fell to the ground. The girl valued her bacon-colored hair as she despised anyone touching it without permission. While Sunset was lost in her mind, the third Commando droid was shown as it seemed the girl had forgotten about it. He now had a clear shot at killing the girl as he charged forward with his dagger and raised it. He looked to bring it down on Sunset as a sound was heard.
A hum was heard as Sunset stood there with her eyes closed. She then opened them as it showed the girl dropping to a knee, aiming her lightsaber backward as it pierced the droid through the middle with the dagger hanging just above her head. Sunset withdrew her blade as the droid fell to the side. Before she could take a breath, more droids of all kinds appeared as they had every firearm pointed at the girl. Sunset looked around as she was completely surrounded with no way out.
The droids were about to open fire as Sunset was still on one knee. The girl closed her eyes as she began to concentrate and recalled a lesson that she was taught.
Use your anger, Sunset. Feel the hatred in your heart. Concentrate. And let it give you power. Embrace the darkness!
"Embrace the darkness," muttered Sunset. "Hate, rage, anger."
Sunset lifted her hand as the droids opened fire. The shots were heading toward the girl as it all moved in slow motion. The girl was about to have a lot of holes in her as they were but seconds away. Sunset once again opened her eyes as the fury on them was shown. Her hand moved quicker than the blaster shots as it slammed onto the ground as time resumed back to normal speed.
Sunset slamming her hand on the ground created a powerful Force attack that disbursed the blaster shots to nothing and moved out in a wave that sent every droid flying and going offline. The entire castle shook from Sunset's attack as it lasted for a few seconds. Sunset stood there as she looked around; carnage and destruction lay at her feet by the main droids that were short-circuited from her attack.
The girl felt the darkness in her heart as it was warm and comforting. The power that surged through was shown as a dark aura surrounded her hand before disappearing. Sunset looked ahead as she dusted herself; the small strand of hair in front of Sunset's face was shown as she simply blew on it before walking out of the room.
A servant droid was shown bringing the girl some food as Sunset was chomping down on her third meal. All the training she did had worked up her appetite. When Sunset was first taken in by Dooku, the Sith Lord began to train her as he promised. And the first thing he did, was to see if Sunset had what it took to embrace the Dark Side of the Force. And what better way than to put the girl in front of a live-round fire of droids. The Sith Lord believed that if Sunset had what it took, she would find a way to survive less she died right then and there.
And Sunset's will and thirst for revenge allowed her to survive being killed and allowed the Sith Lord to see she had potential. From there, he began to train her; however, since Sunset was trained by Celestia, Sunset quickly passed the basics as it allowed Dooku to focus on teaching her advanced tactics.
"Another one, Mistress?" asked the servant droid as he came with a bottle of cider.
"You know the deal," stated Sunset as the droid refilled her cup.
The droid left as Sunset sat in a chair, continuing to eat.
"I'll admit, it's a bit lonely around here without Ventress. But hey, not my problem," said the girl as she munched on her food and swallowed.
Sunset was reaching for her cup of cider when the sun's rays entered the room. The girl looked at the window as she recalled another past memory.
(Memory)
"Sunset, Sunset," said an angelic voice.
A grumble was heard as only darkness was shown.
"Time to get up, Sunset," stated the voice.
Soon the darkness lit up, as there was Celestia. The Jedi Master was standing over the bed of her student as she was trying to get her up.
"Come on, Sunset. Time to get up!" stated the Jedi Master.
Sunset groaned as she opened her eyes only slightly as the light entering her room pained her. She rubbed her eyes and then turned to her side.
"Five more minutes, master. I don't want to get up and go to class," mumbled Sunset as she just wanted to sleep in. The girl pulled the covers over her as she tried to go back into the slumber of darkness.
Suddenly the covers were pulled off her as the sudden coldness made her shudder.
"It's time for training, Sunset! I expect you to be up and in the library in three minutes!" stated Celestia as she pulled the covers and folded them neatly before exiting her student's quarters.
Sunset merely grabbed her pillow and faceplanted it on her face as she groaned. Celestia was in the library near a stack of books, as entering the room was Sunset. The girl managed to get up from her comfy bed and fix a small strand of her hair with the Padawan braid she put on.
"Glad you see you're finally awake. Now then, let's begin our lessons," said Celestia as Sunset took a seat and grabbed some paper while opening the first book of the stack.
The Jedi Master began her lesson with her Padawan as Sunset took notes and listened to everything her teacher said. Celestia was walking along the Jedi Temple hallways when she heard some sounds. The Jedi Master approached the window and looked out to a section of the courtyard as there was her sister.
"Quicker, faster, feel the Force flow through you!" shouted Luna.
The Jedi Master was instructing someone as the young boy was blocking all the shots from a small training droid and sweating from all the exercise he'd done since waking up. The small boy let out one final scream as one of the blasts hit and stunned him as he clutched his right arm. Luna then commanded the droid to stop as she approached the Padawan.
"I'm sorry," said the boy as he failed his test.
"You're getting better. But you need to be faster," stated Luna.
"Yes... Master," replied the boy.
"Again!" shouted Luna as she began to put her student through another intense training session.
"Seems my sister is at it again," said Celestia as she smiled upon seeing how Luna was training her apprentice.
The Jedi Master then looked at another part of the courtyard as Sunset read a book. She was then approached by some of the other Padawans in her class as she lifted her head.
"Sunset Shimmer! That was amazing what you did in class!" said a boy.
"Very exquisite!" said a girl.
"Would you like to have lunch with us?" said another girl.
"Why would I do that? I have better things to do than to socialize. If you'll excuse me, I need to go find someplace quiet." said Sunset as she got up and left.
"Well, that wasn't very nice," said one of the kids.
"She's right full of herself, that's what!" said one of the girls as they watched Sunset leave, all while Celestia managed to overhear what went down as she sighed.
It was now later as Celestia was with her student as they were walking along a hallway.
"Sunset Shimmer, I have heard that you're not getting along well with others- we've talked about personal relationships..." said Celestia.
"Personal relationships? Who needs anybody? Isn't the most important in life to be the best." said Sunset to her teacher.
"We've discussed friendship and its importance before, and we've discussed that you need to start opening yourself up to new friends and remember. Try to also show some humility?" said Celestia.
The fact that she was Sunset's master made her believe she was better than everyone simply based on how well-known and powerful a Jedi Celestia was.
"I'll try," said Sunset. "But I remember how boring it was," muttered the girl under her breath as Celestia sighed.
When she looked on the level above them, they were in the main hall, and there was Luna again. The Jedi Master was with her student as she gave him a treat she went down to the market to get and figured it would be a nice reward for all his hard work.
"Thank you, Master."
"You're earned it, my student," said Luna as she rubbed the boy's head.
Celestia saw the interaction between her sister and her student and couldn't help but compare it to her and Sunset.
"Maybe... I could... no," said Celestia as she had an idea of something that could maybe help Sunset's attitude change.
But sadly, the Jedi Master chose not to as she didn't want to interfere in the pair's relationship. Especially since Luna had been tasked with caring for the boy as if she was his mother. So Celestia continued to walk as Sunset followed, still thinking about how she could get stronger. The Jedi Master didn't know that the idea she thought of wouldn't come to fruition until much later. When Luna's student was older, and she would have a new star pupil under her wing.
For the next few days, Celestia continued her training and lessons with Sunset as the girl was getting stronger with each passing day.
"Look into this mirror and tell me what you see," asked Celestia as the pair stood in front of the object.
"Easy! A beautiful girl with nothing but power and potential!" said Sunset, full of herself as she saw her reflection.
"Care to try again with our talk about humility taken into account?" sighed Celestia.
Sunset rolled her eyes as she stared at her reflection. The girl was concentrating on the mirror as she looked at herself.
"I see... I see a Jedi who isn't powerful enough. Someone who could be great, powerful... Someone who can be the strongest Jedi of all," said Sunset as she saw a reflection of her as the Chosen One in her mind.
"Maybe we better move on," said Celestia.
"Wait, what was that? I thought I saw..." said Sunset.
"Oh, it was probably a trick of the light; our lesson is over today. For tomorrow, I want you to reflect on the discussion we've just had," instructed Celestia.
"Hmm," said Sunset looking back at the mirror.
What the girl saw was her reflection. But then it changed as it showed her, but different. Sunset didn't know that the Force showed her a sneak preview of her future and how she would turn to the Dark Side of the Force.
Later that same day, Celestia was with Master Yoda as the woman spoke with her teacher.
"I believe that Sunset might be the Chosen One to bring balance to the Force," said Celestia as something was telling her that Sunset could be the one.
"Sunset's path, cloudy it is. Powerful, she is. And yet, power leads to anger, anger leads to hate, and hate leads to the Dark Side of the Force." stated Yoda to his student.
"I'm well aware, Master. But I will not allow Sunset to fall to the Dark Side. As her teacher, I vow to do that. I believe she could bring balance to the Force." stated Celestia.
"Shrouded is the future, uncertain of what is to come. Be mindful, Celestia. Your feelings toward Sunset, a grave risk to take." stated the Grand Jedi Master as he walked with Celestia.
(End of Flashback)
Sunset was still looking at the window before looking at her reflection in the cup of cider. The girl merely got up as she was no longer hungry. The girl decided to get in some mediation as she felt it could clear her mind. The girl closed her eyes and concentrated as she began to attune her mind to the Force. It wasn't long before she was shown more memories of her past a few years later.
(Flashback)
Celestia was doing one of her daily exercises as she lifted up three tones of metal, as the Jedi Master concentrated and made all the things float effortlessly. Sunset arrived as she saw her Master setting the stuff gently on the ground as she rushed over.
"Can I try?" said Sunset as she had gotten more powerful in the past few years and was willing to show her teacher.
The senior Padawan put her hand out and began to concentrate. Sunset was pouring all she could into lifting the huge heavy pile of metal. She was sweating and panting, but try as she might, Sunset couldn't lift the object.
"You're... not quite there yet, Sunset," said Celestia as she ran her hand through her student's hair.
The pair entered the temple to begin their lessons as Celestia began to speak to her student.
"You should try to make some friends," stated the Jedi Master to her student, as in recent years, she often distanced herself and didn't bother to meet people outside the classroom.
"But why?" asked Sunset.
"Because... friends bring happiness."
"But... I'm happy when I'm Jedi," answered the girl.
"But why are you a Jedi?" asked Celestia.
"To do good things?" answered Sunset.
"But for who? You need to make some friends, Sunset."
"Right..." stated the girl as she sighed. "How can I make myself some friends?"
"Well... you talk to them. You make jokes. You have fun. You do things together. You just become friends with them." said Celestia.
One day, a group of younglings was passing by as Sunset was nearby. The girl was hiding behind a pillar as he felt like talking to some kids who were younger than her might be a good starting point. However, when she took her first step, she froze and immediately turned to leave.
"Friendship is not easy, Sunset," said Celestia as they were in a room with her listening to all the many attempts that Sunset tried to make friends.
"But why? You want to see me fail again?" stated the girl.
"I don't think anyone would be incapable of making friends," said Celestia.
"But what am I doing wrong? I'm acting nice. I try to be friendly, and nothing works!" said Sunset to her teacher.
"You're telling me you can figure out the fundamentals of the Force, but simple friendship is too hard for you?" stated Celestia with a slight chuckle. "I'm sure you'll figure it out," said the Jedi Master, running her hand through Sunset's hair.
"Is... is this an order?" asked Sunset.
"Yes," replied the Jedi Master.
(Quick Pause)
Sunset was shown struggling as she felt some pain in her mind. The memories were affecting her.
(Resume Flashback)
The pair were now in a section of the library. Celestia was going over the ancient prophecy as she still fully believed Sunset was the Chosen One to bring balance to the Force.
"What are you reading, Master?" asked Sunset as she appeared.
"Oh, nothing," said Celestia as she put the scroll away.
"Is it my next lesson?" said Sunset as she approached and was about to grab the scroll.
"DO NOT TOUCH THAT!" yelled Celestia as it got Sunset to back off. "I'm sorry, Sunset Shimmer. But we've been over this; we will get to the other lessons in due time... when you're ready!" said the Jedi Master as he led them out of the restricted session and closed it behind them. She then began to walk away as Sunset stayed behind and glared between her and the area behind.
"I am ready!" stated Sunset as she believed she was ready for the next part of her training to become a Jedi Master.
(End)
Sunset was in her quarters as she struggled and yelled at all the memories her mind was reminding her of. She broke free from her meditation to grab her head, but the Force continued torturing the girl. Now, she was getting snippets of one final memory.
"The Chosen One will bring balance to the Force," muttered Sunset as she read a line.
"That's not really for you to know now, is it?!" stated Celestia.
"How dare you keep this kind of knowledge from me! You know that I'm ready for this, that I can be GREAT!"
"You could be great. I thought I saw compassion and sincerity in you, but it was nothing but ambition. You're being selfish. You need to step back and reflect..." said Celestia.
"I'm selfish!? That prophecy says I could be the most powerful Jedi in the galaxy. I could bring balance to the Force! It's selfish of you to keep me from my rightful place!" shouted Sunset. "I deserve to stand beside you and be your equal.. if not, your BETTER! Make me a Jedi MASTER!"
"No!" stated Celestia as he stared down at her student. "You will never be like me!"
Sunset gasped a bit at hearing that.
"Being a Jedi Master must be earned. I have been trying to teach you everything you need to know. But you've turned from it. Every time you say you deserve to get something without the effort, it just proves to me that you are not ready!
"I made it clear that you were not allowed here, and you have disobeyed me!" shouted the Jedi Master.
"I told you I couldn't make friends!"
"You didn't even try!"
"Try what?!" yelled Sunset. "I've tried everything you told me."
"Did you?" shouted Celestia.
"YOU'RE A HYPOCRITE!" yelled Sunset at the top of her lungs. "YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE FRIENDS!"
At that moment, Celestia gasped as inside, her heart broke a bit. Sunset then stormed off as she was anything but happy.
"CELESTIA!" shouted Sunset at the top of her lungs as the entire room shook from her anger.
The windows cracked as the table next to Sunset's bed broke in half. The girl was on the floor as she was panting. The teen was breathing heavily as her hands on the floor oozed with a dark aura before disappearing. Sunset then brought her hands up and ran them through her hair as she took deep breaths. A ball rolled toward the girl as it touched her knee; Sunset looked at the object as she picked it up. The ball was the same one she and Storm used to play catch when they were captured by Hondo and his crew. There, the boy asked her to open up about herself, something she hadn't done in a long time, and he was the first one willing to listen. For Sunset, she had no idea why she kept the object, but she just did.
At that moment, a sound was heard as the door to her quarters opened, and a servant droid came in.
"Mistress, Count Dooku's new apprentice is about to arrive."
"I'll be there," stated Sunset as she got up and dismissed the droid.
Sunset looked at the ball as she placed it on the shelf above her bed. The girl then began to make her way to the castle's entrance as she knew that with Dooku gaining a new protege, she needed to see if they had what it took to win.
A ship was landing as Dooku was already waiting. Sunset was watching from one of the nearby pedestals as she leaned against it with her arms crossed. The ship docked, and the back of it opened. Out came two Nightsisters as they stood to the side; as soon emerging was Mother Talzin.
"Sister," greeted the Sith Lord.
"Count Dooku," said the witch; she did catch a glimpse over at Sunset in the distance as even from afar, she could sense something about the girl. Mother Talzin merely smiled before turning back to Dooku. "May I present... Savage Opress."
Mother Talzin introduced her selection as she stepped to the side. Emerging from the ship was a male Zabrak who had passed certain trials by Ventress and was selected to be Dooku's new apprentice. However, the male wasn't his usual size as before leaving, Mother Talzin and her clan had infused Savage with their mystical powers to strengthen his strength and ferocity. The magic also changed his appearance as he was a hulking brute from his initial form. He dawned blastproof armor and wielded a mystically empowered vibro-ax.
Sunset was skeptical of Savage as she knew brawn alone wouldn't help win battles. Dooku, on the other hand, liked what he saw.
"He is certainly a sight to behold," stated Dooku.
"The fiercest of his kind, my Lord," replied Mother Talzin as she looked at Savage. "He shall serve you well."
"Yes, he shall," snickered Dooku.
Savage merely bowed to show that he was under Dooku's command but had a smile on his face that only Mother Talzin could see. The witch soon left as Dooku took Savage inside; the giant warrior walked past Sunset as she wasn't scared despite being smaller than him. As the pair entered the castle, he didn't notice her as Sunset got up from her leaning.
"Something is off," stated the bacon-haired girl.
Unbeknownst to Sunset, she was right. As it turns out, Savage was merely a plan hatched by Ventress and Mother Talzin to get back at Dooku. And the brute was under the control of the Nightsisters as they were merely waiting for the perfect opportunity to stab the Sith Lord in the back.
The teen couldn't wrap her brain around this new warrior as she, too, entered the castle. Dooku was now in his office as he was about to give Savage an assignment to see his worth in battle.
"Mother Talzin speaks very highly of your skills. Still, I require proof of your abilities as a warrior," stated Dooku.
The Sith Lord projected an image as it showed an outpost.
"The Jedi are in control of a vital outpost on the jungle planet of Devaron, a temple."
"A temple?" said Savage as he wasn't impressed.
"Do not be fooled, Savage. The temple of Eedit serves only as a front for the military operations of the Republic. It is essential that we seize the temple if the Separatists ever hope to take control of that corner of the galaxy. You shall go to Devaron and take what is rightfully ours." said Dooku.
"Yes, my Lord," stated Savage.
"Sunset!" called out the Sith Lord.
The girl had been listening from afar as she got up from leaning against the wall and approached Savage. The large warrior now got his first look at the small girl, with Sunset having to look up at Dooku's new apprentice. Sunset wasn't scared or backing down from the brute despite being smaller.
"Sunset here is an ally and will oversee your progress," said Dooku as he had to have a pair of eyes to see if Savage was successful.
"Hear that, I'm in charge," stated Sunset, scowling at Savage as the warrior kept staring down the girl. The girl was making sure the brute knew his place.
The pair soon left as they arrived at the planet Devaron as a battle was going on. Droids were fighting against the clones, and the Jedi were stationed there as a battle took place on a bridge. The Jedi defending the temple were Jedi Master Halsey and his apprentice Knox. The ship landed behind the droids as the pair exited.
"Alright, so here's the..." Sunset was about to give Savage the plan, but the warrior just charged ahead. "You dumbass!"
Savage was running ahead as he bulldozed over the droids, not caring who was in his path. A clone fired a shot at Savage as it hit his chest, but thanks to his armor, it didn't phase him. The warrior then made it to the clones as he began to swing his vibro-ax at the clones as pieces of their armor went flying due to how hard he struck them.
"Get him!" shouted the clone commander to the rest of his troopers as they charged and fired at Savage.
It was fruitless as Savage brutally pummeled the clones as he tossed some of the bridge. The Jedi had managed to dispose of the remaining droids as they saw the brute.
"Jedi," growled Savage.
Jedi Master Hasley leaped forward as he took an offensive position.
"Master?" said Knox to his teacher.
"Stay back!" said the Jedi Master to his Padawan.
The Jedi Master charged forward as he began to fight Savage. Sunset was on the bridge and making her way toward her ally. The Jedi Master went for a swing as Savage moved and avoided another swing before grabbing the hand that held his lightsaber. He managed to make the Jedi drop his weapon; he then went for a stab as the Jedi sidestepped. The Jedi punched and did a backflip off the chest of Savage before going for some swinging roundhouse kicks as the warrior moved back to avoid them.
Savage could duck and punch the Jedi in the gut and then hit him with the brute of his weapon before tripping him up. He then raised his weapon and brought it down to deal the final blow to the Jedi Master.
"No!" shouted Knox as he saw his master be slain by Savage.
The Padawan charged ahead to avenge his master. A few moments later, the Jedi was tossed headfirst into the temple door as he fell to the floor with his lightsaber out of his hand.
Savage approached the stair as he stood in front of the temple's doors. Sunset, who had watched the struggle ensue, was now walking past all the carnage that laid waste. She passed by the bodies of the Jedi as she looked at them. Safe to say, she was a tad impressed by the massacre Savage did.
"Requiescat in pace," said Sunset as she spoke the words that Celestia often said to fallen comrades.
Seems that was a lesson that stuck with the girl, as Celestia often told her to give the dead some final words to guide them in death and relieve them of their guilt and regrets.
"My Lord," said Savage as he contacted Dooku.
"Is it finished?" asked the Sith Lord.
"Yes. The temple has been taken."
"And the Jedi?"
"Dead."
"Very impressive, Savage. Return to Serenno immediately," stated Dooku.
"Very well, my Lord," replied Savage as the transmission ended.
Sunset was shown approaching Savage as the girl was anything but happy.
"Next time, wait for me to finish speaking!" growled the girl as the brute growled back.
Sunset began to head back to the ship as she was still not warming up to Savage as Dooku's new apprentice. Eventually, they both returned to Serenno; Savage stood before Dooku as he was impressed by the result of his new assassin.
"You have done well, Savage. I'll have much use for you," stated the Sith Lord.
"Thank you, my Lord," responded Savage.
"I foresee we will do great things together. I shall teach you the ways of the dark side. Soon your powers will rival that of the great Sith Lord, Darth Maul. We will be even more powerful than Lord Sidious. We shall rule the galaxy together, my apprentice." stated Dooku as he was looking to his new protege to overthrow his master.
"I am your servant, Master," said Savage as Dooku smiled. Unaware of Savage's true intentions and purpose.
"I've got a bad feeling about this," muttered Sunset as she was once again leaning against a wall and watching the pair.
Author's Note: So this chapter is a bit of a mix. Now for those that know, the main plot of the episode focuses on Ventress finding a new apprentice of Dooku and it takes place on Dathomir. However, since Sunset is no longer with Ventress, the stuff they usually do is no longer available. So I decided to change perspective and focus on Sunset during that time; plus it allows you to see small glimpses of what Sunset was like before she turned. And yes, that small idea that Celestia had was to have Storm become Sunset's partner like he is with Twilight right now, but Celestia didn't want to interrupt Luna's relationship with him which is why she didn't have the courage to do it back then. Perhaps, that could have helped Sunset, who knows. Now the main focus is that Dooku now has a new apprentice but even Sunset feels something is off. Anyways, leave a review expressing your thoughts on the chapter.
