Waking up in this Dark World was surely interesting.
The first thing Susie noticed was that she was in a classroom of sorts, one similar to the school's yet so different, definitely a result of Dark World shenanigans.
Next off, the most painfully obvious one. Noelle had landed right on top of her! If Susie wasn't blushing earlier, you better believe she was now.
Noelle quickly got off her as soon as she woke up, shutting her eyes and yelling apologies, which Susie just cackled at. It was..cute.
"You're good, 'elle. Relax."
Noelle sighed in relief in response and looked around the room.
First off, the two weren't in their weird Dark World forms for…some reason. Instead, they looked about the same except they were wearing an unfamiliar school uniform. It appeared to be a high school Japanese uniform if the extremely cliche anime and romance that Kris –and also partially Berdly but mostly Kris in the end– had forced upon the group were accurate depictions of what they were supposed to look like. The two had roughly the same uniform on, a reddish grey blazer with both a orange vest AND white collared undershirt with a red bow thing sticking out, but there was a small difference, Noelle having a skirt and Susie having pants.
Quite in character, the two reckoned.
A realisation entered Susie's mind, this wasn't a regular Dark World, this may not even be a Dark World!
"GOD FUCKING damnit NOELLE where the FUCK are we?!"
"I have no idea!"
"Anyway, Ralsei should probably end up showing at some point but let's just find the other two." Susie watched as Noelle gained a sudden smirk.
"What if those two were uhh…" Noelle trailed off, slight giggles could be heard. Susie raised her eyebrow and placed one of her hands on her hip. It finally registered to Noelle that Susie hadn't heard her and her smile grew wider at the opportunity to say it louder. "You think those two landed…in the same position as us?"
"On top of each other? Hell yea!" Unlike Noelle's, Susie's voice was much louder and that was on purpose. Just to fuck with those two.
"If that is what you're implying, wrong." A third voice called out from seemingly nowhere. Noelle and Susie turned around and were flabbergasted when they saw Berdly right there, listening in on that damn conversation. And for some reason, he was ALSO in the same random school uniform, with pants like Susie had and some sort of red tie rather than a ribbon. "Kris wasn't with me, unfortunately."
"Did you want them to-?" It was Susie's full turn with the teasing.
"If you finish that sentence, I will-"
"Don't even think about it."
"Anyway!" Noelle intersected once again. "L-Let's just find them.."
The three started walking through the school, noting how there was almost no one. Well, until what looked like a fragment of code had run up to them, split into three and initiated a battle.
"Hell yea, another battle!" Susie pulled out her axe which she surprisingly still had.
"O-Oh, well. Uh..alright then!" Noelle readied her magic just in case of needing to use it.
"What in the Angel's Heaven is even occurring?" Although he'd done this before, Berdly was extremely confused on what to do as he'd on ever been on the other side.
"Normally Kris commands us on what to do but they aren't here so I'm the leader now." Susie declared as she looked over at her two teammates. "EVERYONE FIGHT THESE THINGS!"
The trio didn't hesitate and they threw a wacky combination of ice from hands, electricity from a futuristic halberd (how many things from the dark worlds did these people have?) and an axe at the code segments. They all glitched out at the attack.
"Let's get out of here before…that happens again." Noelle chuckled anxiously. The other two shared that sentiment and they all ran off to look for an exit, hopefully they'd find Kris on the way or just around somewhere.
Meanwhile, Kris was…very confused. They'd woken up outside an unfamiliar neighbourhood that seemed to resemble the neighbourhoods that a lot of different stories seem to somehow have. The strangely recognisable uniform was indeed quite questionable but not their main concern.
What was Kris's main concern was some random girl that they didn't know was running up to them, waving her arms like in the air like she's totally oblivious to any attention she may be drawing to herself.
Still slightly dizzy from the whole "Jumping into another world" thing, Kris didn't exactly want to examine this person. Although, just because they didn't want to didn't mean that they didn't do it. The person felt familiar, her blue eyes and the red bow in her hair screamed familiarity. Whoever this was, was clearly important. After a few moments of nothing, the girl reached them, she was panting, hand over chest and all.
"Haahhhhh….Haaahhhh.. I overslept again!" She frantically blabbered whilst trying to catch her breath to the best of her abilities. A smile inserted itself onto the girl's face after a short moment. "But I caught you this time!"
Kris gave the stranger a thumbs up.
"Let's go!" The stranger ran off in the direction of a school, Kris ran behind, unsure of what they were supposed to be doing.
Despite the fact that they were running right now, Kris could now see the girl much more clearly than earlier. Everything suddenly clicked, the uniform, the area, everything, they didn't like that because the truth was clear. This wasn't a normal Dark World, it was a very familiar game.
They'd played this game before and didn't like the ending.
"By the way, Kris… Have you decided on a club to join yet?" The girl asked once the two made it to the school. That girl was Sayori, a character from the game.
"Are you trying to get me to join the Literature Club?"
"Maybeeeeeeee…."
Somehow, Kris had probably just been inserted into the spot of the protagonist….from Doki Doki Literature Club!…of all games… What a day.
"Please, could you check it out?" Sayori pleaded. "We have cupcakes!"
You know, maybe they could save the characters and bring them back to Castle Town, that'd be cool. And cupcakes were nice.
"Fine, then." Kris flatly responded, not entirely sure of where the others were or what was actually going to happen.
