Let's make one thing clear, Susie hated worrying about people, yet that was all she was feeling. Worry, worry, worry. Which is why she was pissed when Noelle caught her trying to write a poem and made her open up, which is why she was pissed when she had to get Berdly of all people to distract her from these feelings, which is why she was pissed when Kris didn't open the door and instead had a battle with…whoever it was.

This wasn't who she was. Susie didn't worry, she never did, it wasn't her. In public, at least. And yet, it seemed that "public" wasn't this house.

"Don't scare us like that next time, man." But Susie had to keep some sort of facade going, Kris was the one to be concerned about. She kept her smile rough and walked downstairs to the desolate kitchen.

Somehow, there was always food in here. Normal food, to her disappointment, but food nonetheless. It still wasn't real biting into the rice balls that came from seemingly nowhere, it was still a Dark World. One that just so happened to be based off a video game that she still only had half the plot of.

Susie sat down at the bench and simply stared, there was a note. Of course she had to read it, mostly for the hell of it! The handwriting was surprisingly neat, but still shaky in some areas.

A detailed Doki Doki Literature Club! (yes, that is the title) synopsis - required for our survival. (You may skip if you already are aware of everything)

The game starts out as any typical visual novel, an idiotic lowlife protagonist (who is suddenly Kris (I'm not stating that they possess those qualities, it's just that the original protagonist did) now) gets invited to their highschool's literature club by their childhood friend (Sayori).

In this club, we meet three more members (Natsuki, Monika & Yuri) who proceed to share poems over the course of a few days and whoever the protagonist romances (write poems for) will fall in love with them (It's concerning, but how these games work).

Now, Monika does not have a romanceable route in this game (which is honestly a good thing, I do not personally see why anyone would want to date her and you will see why I think that in a moment)

Sayori begins to act quite strange, it is found out that she has depression and on the day of the festival (next monday) she is found to have killed herself. Later we find out that Monika is the driving force in this.

The game resets and Sayori's character file is literally removed from the game. The game glitches out much more and Yuri changes over the few days given, she quickly turns from a normal and shy girl to one that resembles a cliche yandere, obsessed over our protagonist (again, this is unfortunately Kris). She ends up stabbing herself on friday.

Enter Monika, who reveals that she is able to control the fabric of reality, change characters and delete them (she ends up deleting Yuri, Natsuki and basically the entire clubroom). She is the one who did everything here, she ended up killing everyone. Just to get to the game's player (yes, the person PLAYING the game)

But of course she had a motive(if not a slightly nonsensical one), she had been driven mad by the epiphany of finding out that she was a video game character and a puppet on strings.

And that is where she gets deleted from the game and the other three are brought back, Sayori reveals that she is also sentient because of becoming club president. Monika returns and deletes the entire game.

That. Was. Long. Susie wouldn't be surprised if anyone else who had come across this thing skipped it. Despite that, she ignored the urge to crumple it into a ball and chuck it across the room or rip the paper into bite size pieces after covering the entire thing with yellow and purple chalk. Delicious.

Speaking of the note, it wasn't helping that sinking feeling in Susie's heart. Worry, weak little worry. The worry that a monster of her kind didn't feel, a full one never would.

She shook her head and walked away from the bench, back on the couch nearby and she plumpetted down on it.

As the words flooded through her, she had no choice but to accept it. She was scared as fuck. High chance that Kris was going to get seriously traumatised here, along with everyone else. Susie had dealt with corrupt, manipulative queens who could literally control people and corrupt, power hungry, controlling scum of the earth, shitty kings but this was different.

And damn it, Susie was thinking about people she didn't like again! Unnaturally, she took that frustrations out on paper. Why the hell was she writing a poem again?! Boredom and it actually helped, surprisingly. So she scribbled down thoughts, thoughts and feelings, anger and apologies, forgiveness and thanks.

And after quite a few sheets of paper, there were four poems right there. Four poems that she wrote. Why on earth would someone do this? Susie didn't know despite being the one to do that.

Susie shot up and her smile quickly widened at the realisation of what she had done and the –admittedly rushed– pieces of paper in front of her.

"Hah! Yes! I'm not even in that stupid literature club and I did this! Beat that Monika, you bitch!" Jumping in the air, she felt much better.

"Good job!" Another voice cheered with enthusiasm from what was thought to be the empty living room. Susie looked around, darting her head wherever it would go without falling off, which was pretty much anywhere. Not to her surprise, it was Noelle again.

"How and why do you keep showing up like that?" Susie's already raised eyebrows seemingly went up in sheer utter confusion. Noelle simply shrugged and sat on the couch with her.

"Came in here to write a poem for tomorrow, saw you and didn't want to bother." Despite the happy context and sweet phrasing, Noelle's voice slowly but surely got darker in tone before saying what was inevitable and what was to bring both Susie and herself back into worry.

"I'm assuming you saw the note earlier?" Noelle asked, she slipped her hand over to where Sussie's hand was and gave it a quick squeeze. Susie only nodded in response while sitting back down and accepting the gesture but squeezing quite harder than Noelle could.

"It's fine…I'll deal with it." Despite those words, Susie's clearly dejected eyes, sudden lack of energy and overall tone did not convince Noelle that this was how she was feeling and that she was right. Susie wasn't going to be able to deal with it. However, it hurt to lie to her, no matter the reason.

"Suse..?"

"Uh, yea?"

There was a sharp punch in Noelle's voice. "You know, you don't need to lie to me."

"What?" Susie started chuckling, frantically shook her head and put her hands up in the air. Noelle just simply looked at her with a sad expression before gulping and looking away.

"I don't think that I'll…." The lump in Noelle's throat grew as she choked the words out. "...Deal with it either." And as the words came out, Noelle felt familiar tears trickle down and out of her eyes and onto her cheeks and chin. But accompanying it, a familiar hand placed itself on her shoulder and another was placed under her chin.

Susie was looking at Noelle with a look that both of them knew she didn't want to show, a look of concern and vulnerability.

"Well uh." Susie's face brightened to a point where it wouldn't be surprising if she either fainted or evaporated right then and there in that very moment. "I don't normally comfort people but uh, we can try to deal with it together. The other's are also here so we can all.." She trailed off.

Noelle realised that her mouth had curled itself into a smile and her tears had dried, it seemed that she returned the favour. Noelle's heart started beating faster and faster at every thought that entered her head as she placed her hand on Susie's waist and kissed her on the cheek. It ended as soon as it started but it was one of –if not– the best kisses the two had ever had.

"Noe-Noelle, uh, I- what- huh, you- we-" As expected, Susie exploded into a flustered mess of stuttering and hard blushing brighter than ever. Noelle simply smiled at the destruction she caused while absolutely bursting into laughter at her girlfriend's expense.

That was… really bold of her, Noelle had wanted to do something like that for the longest time!

"Better now?"

"Very."
