"Alright, I'll go to Yuri and you can tackle Natsuki today?" Noelle asked and Kris nodded. The two were still smiling over their own certain events the night before.
Noelle was still excited from her little stunt from yesterday, being bold, strong, and kissing Susie right there. There was also her little interaction last night which consisted of Berdly begging for advice on how to… yea, that was something. It was taking Noelle all her willpower to not say something to Kris right then and there about it.
She wouldn't, she'd let those two bury in feelings.
That wasn't the main concern now, the literature club meeting had just started and everyone was swinging into action, Monika and Sayori were talking, Kris had moved over to the storage closet (sadly not the one to Castle Town, Noelle still had no idea why it was locked) to where Natsuki was and Noelle herself was ready.
Noelle walked over to where Yuri was reading, it was a book different to the one she had given her yesterday which she did end up reading the first chapter of. Turns out it was quite different to… those memories. She really didn't want to disrupt her but she needed to keep watch.
Noelle quickly noticed that Yuri looked different, it was hard to see but her nails seemed longer and.. Were those raccoon ears? Cool! That was something she didn't know about her and it made her feel nice knowing that for now, she wasn't the only monster in this club.
She decided to grab a chair from the desk over and put it across from Yuri's desk, the latter did not notice her for a good second…until she did.
"Ah!" Yuri looked up for a brief second before slightly jumping, clearly not expecting to see Noelle there like that. She hastily buried her head further into her book and Noelle looked away from her for a second.
"Uh, sorry! D-Didn't mean to scare you.." Noelle said in some sort of attempted reassurement, it seemed to work since Yuri looked up from her book and smiled a bit more than two seconds ago.
"It's fine… If I was focused then I probably wouldn't have noticed but I'm just re-reading this.." She gestured to her book before changing the subject. "How are you enjoying Listen, thus far?"
At hearing the book's name, Noelle grabbed it out of her bag and placed it on the table. "Well, it seems to be going in a fun direction. The main character is… not likeable but I think that's the point."
"Yes it is, you'll see eventually that Rona's influence on the unnamed protagonist will seem for the better but they still won't like it." Yuri clarified. "It makes the protagonist out to be an even more ungrateful person than the start of the book did but you'll just have to wait and see."
"Alright then!" Noelle nodded, picked the book up and started reading, Yuri did the same with her's.
"Ugh…!" Natsuki's sigh was definitely heard. Kris had mentally prepared themself last night in the event that they'd have to do this. They had a general idea of how to get out of this alive, offer help but don't exactly intervene. Although they hoped that the interaction would be less awkward since they weren't a "male pervert", as Natsuki would probably put it.
Hesitantly, Kris walked over to the club closet where Natsuki was pouting, looking at her manga which had made its way to the top shelf.
Kris waved at her and she turned around and pouted, they pointed behind her to the closet and she easily collected what they meant, at least they hoped so.
"Freaking Monika! She never puts my stuff in the right spot! What's the point in keeping your collection organised if someone is just going to mess it up!" Natsuki rambled, walking around in a small circle.
As if she were summoned over, Monika walked over to the two with an eyebrow raised.
"Did you move my manga again?" Natsuki asked. Monika put her hand on her hip.
"Ah, sorry, sorry! The teacher got mad at me for taking up so much space in her closet so I had to move it." Monika responded. "I'll make it up to you!" She walked away.
"You better." Natsuki called out to Monika after she made her escape. Natsuki let out a small grunt before turning back to Kris, who was still there and unfortunately had to be.
Kris pointed to themself and then behind Natsuki, specifically at the manga up on the top. She just stared at them for a few tight seconds before kind of just ignoring them to ramble instead.
"Jeez, this is so inconvenient! They don't needa be up there. Why would you waste that sight on the top shelf?" Natsuki complained, reaching her arm up to the top shelf and miserably failing. Kris (semi-)accidentally let out a snicker which caused Natsuki to spin around back to them and acknowledge them.
"What are you looking at?" Natsuki's face flushed pink out of nowhere, probably embarrassment. "I-If you wanna say somethin', say it!"
"Stool." Kris pointed out the collapsible stool that resided inside of the closet, remaining extremely cautious of what to do next as to not let the scene happen as it did in the game.
Natsuki grabbed the stool, unfolded it and set it against the shelves. "I….I knew that was there!"
She jumped on the stool and it wobbled a bit but she was overall getting there. She was able to scoot one of the smaller boxes to the edge of the shelf.
Before the box could tip, Kris jumped up and grabbed it, pulling it down to the empty middle shelf that Natsuki seemed to want it on.
Natsuki stepped off the stool as Monika's voice rang throughout the clubroom. Kris made sure that the box wasn't going to topple over and stepped out with Natsuki in tow.
"Okay, everyone! It's time to share poems!" Monika announced and the entire club grabbed their poems. Kris did as well but they were mostly just confused. There was normally time to enact a whole sequence but Monika seemingly just cut it short? What was that about?
Well, the only thing to do now was share the poem.
