Chapter 1: End of the Clone Wars
It was the end of the Clone Wars and throughout the Galaxy, the Confederacy is on the the urge of complete destruction and the Jedi Order had just been betrayed by the Clones and the new Sith Lord. A Young Man was leaning against the wall looking down at a patio when he saw a young Togruta ran out, she looked around to be his age and he saw a group of clones that followed behind. He knew what they were there because he remembered seeing her once before. Back when she was the Padawan to Anakin Skywalker, he had to act quick and he grabbed his lightsaber and he jumped down to save her day.
He had landed onto the ground and the clones turned to look at him but within an instant of his activation of his lightsaber, he had sliced through the clones within seconds and he had killed all of them now. He only deactivated his lightsaber and he looked at Ahsoka now, which there was a brief moment between the two. Ahsoka had only asked "Who are you? Why did you save me?" which the mysterious man just replied "I'll explain later, but right now we are not safe". Which he heard chatter going on and he looked down over the ledge and he saw more troopers enter the building.
He had looked around for an escape route and he said "Damn, this is not good" and he knew he had to act quick, and he said "come on" which he grabbed her hand and he ran off with her. The both of them had ran across the roof-tops, he was looking for a building they can get down to the ground and quick. One that had no clone activity going on, once they found the right building and got to the ground, he had finally let go of her hand now. Ahsoka stopped running and sat down now as he asked "Are you alright?" She nodded "Yeah I am, it's just these damn clones are everywhere! How do you think we are going to get out of here?" She inquired.
He had replied "I currently have a ship not that far from here, we can use it to get off of Coruscant, we'll need to go further away from the Galactic's control. Most likely we'll have to disappear on Tatooine or one of those outer-rim planets". Ahsoka stopped running and sat down now as he asked "Are you alright?" She nodded "Yeah I am, it's just these damn clones are everywhere! How do you think we are going to get out of here?" She inquired. He then replied "I have a ship not that far from here, we'll have to head to one of the outer-rim planet like Tatooine" which Ahsoka only said "Shili, It's my home world and my mother's there".
He only nodded before he said "Plus the Galactic Empire wouldn't exactly look on Shili for a outcast Jedi and some forsaken Sith Apprentice" which Ahsoka had nodded in agreement. They kept walking towards the hangar bay of his ship as they entered into it, the large beast of a ship which she would've never imagined before standing next to the X-70B Phantom. Ahsoka had only said "What is this ship? I have never seen a kind of this before" and the male only said "Old Sith Empire technology". He added "This was in my master's family for generations before her death, I took it over as my own".
Ahsoka had only asked "Who are you exactly? And why did you save me back there" and the male turned around "Well for starters, My name is Rome and I was a Apprentice for a female Sith Lord". He added "Second, both me and my Master believed the Jedi were not always our enemy and some should be negotiated with. Discussion first, Violence second". Ahsoka replied "But all the Sith I've seen, usually attack first" and Rome had nodded before he stated "We went by our own code". He added "There is no peace without a passion to create" and he had stated a code that not many knew.
Before he said "You could say that we were not truly Sith but more of a neutral force user. We called ourselves, the Grey Order because of our teachings in both Dark and Light side of the force". He added "My master discovered this teaching in her final years alive and she solely taught me what she could, before her death". Ahsoka asked "What happened? Like how did she die" and Rome only replied "Duel, against the new Sith Lord, Darth Sidious". He added "Back many years ago and under the apprenticeship of Darth Plagueis the wise, the Rule of Two was broken".
He stated "My master was Plagueis's apprentice, however she had disappeared when Plagueis adapted a new Apprentice, Sheev Palpatine, or Senator Palpatine and now Emperor Palpatine". He gone into detail of his Master and her reputation in the Sith Order prior to her departure and her eventual rise in the grayness of the force. Her teachings, were something that he had forever remembered and it may be true that she was the only Sith Pureblood to achieve a force spirit. He only stated "My Master had studied the fields of work that Qui-Gon Jinn had done in his lifetime".
He only said "I became an apprentice to my master in the year of 32 BBY, around the same year that Master Jinn was killed at the hands of Darth Maul" he continued to walk around his ship. He only looked at her before he said "Qui-Gon's Death really stirred the Galaxy, for us force users because he was the one that we saw as truly as someone who followed the Force". He added "The Jedi and Sith lost their way with the Force, The Sith only used it as an advantage while the Jedi lost their connection". However they heard chatter and footsteps going by the hanger, it seemed like the Clones were going to one of the other hangers.
He only then said "We must go" and he gone onto his ship now and Ahsoka followed behind and he quickly gone to the cockpit so they could take off, he was not taking any more risks. It was already bad that they had a close call with those passing clones, but he wasn't going to stick around to wait for them to come into the Hanger. Once they entered space, it seemed like they were in the clear and he had set course for Shili, he only then said "Alright Hyperdrive is ready". He pressed a few switches and pressed something forward and they had gone into hyperjump now.
During the jump to Shili, Rome was keeping in track of the status of the ship before he said "The Ship was used by Imperial Intelligence back in the Old Republic, so its old but it's still useful". He chuckled a bit before he looked over at the Togruta sitting next to him now, before he asked "So what's the story behind you?". She only just then sighed and looked down at her feet as if she wanted to hide from him now. Ahsoka finally just started talking now saying "Well there isn't much to tell. I was formerly a Padawan to a Jedi Knight, Anakin Skywalker" which Rome nodded a bit.
He only asked "So what went wrong?" and Ahsoka replied "I was framed for murder, they said I had tried to kill the Chancellor" which Rome had only chuckled and he said "I got the same treatment as well". Before he added "I wish I had taken the chance to actually do it though because then this mess wouldn't have happened". He sighed a bit before he looked over at the Togruta once more, before he said "Just thought to say that I've been in your situation before so I get it truly". As he leaned back in his seat, before he said "So how long has it been since you seen your mother?" he asked now.
She only said "About 5 Years", which he responded with "That's good. It doesn't seem like she ever changed from her last visit" he commented which she only replied with a "Nope" to which he laughed a bit. He had only said "I wish I had my family, they were killed by a group of slave traders when a Mandalorian Clan was trying to return me". He went on to say "I was only 14, they stole everything away from me" which Ahsoka didn't know how to respond. So she stayed silent for a while and she took a look out the window as they had left the hyperjump and entered Shili's orbit.
She took in her surroundings seeing all the clouds that covered the planet, she only wondered what was waiting for them on the ground below them as they began their decent onto the Planet. Rome had looked for a village to land at, and he found one in the clearing somewhere which he said "Alright going to bring it down nearby the village". He had gone to take a landing near the village before he said "Alright, Shili here we are" he told her and he got up now. Ahsoka had got up to follow him off the ship now, when they had walked off the ship they were greeted by people, who knew Ahsoka quite well.
There were many children running around looking happy, as well as many people greeting them and they were offered food and drink's, Ahsoka noticed a woman approaching her who she recognized right away from her memories. It seemed like the older togruta and Ahsoka seemed to have a connection between the two. Rome had only asked "So who is this?" as he was unaware that this woman was her mother, Ahsoka had only said "This is my mother". The elder togruta had replied "My dear, it's wonderful to see you again" she added which Ahsoka gave her a small smile.
The women gave Ahsoka a hug after that and she spoke to Rome "Its great to meet you" which Rome replied "It is a pleasure to meet you as well" he commented. The togruta who had held Ahsoka then let go, as she looked at Rome and she only said "You must be one of Ahsoka's friends then?" which Rome replied "Acquaintance, but I did save her life". She only smiled slightly at that comment, before she looked over at her daughter again. Ahsoka wasn't sure what to think about her being here with them, she hadn't heard anything about her coming here.
Rome had crossed his arms, however Ahsoka's mother just said "Please come with us, the best we can do is give you a place to sleep as well. I mean you did help my daughter out after all". Rome had looked at the two and he said "I mean if you insist really" and the woman had nodded and she replied "I really do insist". He couldn't argue with her, so he had gone with the two to the shack that her mother was living in, besides it would be the first time he'd ever live with the Togruta's. This truly was going to be a new experience for him to experience, at least they were away from the Republic that was hunting people down.
Their story was only about to begin on the Planet of Shili.
