Harry and Ginny

May 29th, 1977

Harry and Ginny were in their quarters. Both of them were looking at Teddy, who had just woken up and was playing with his toys. But their mind was somewhere else. They had done what they had come for. The battle was over and they had done their part. But the cost had been high. Marlene was dead. Martha was dead. 2 students from Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw were dead. Many villagers were dead. So, were they really successful in their mission?

But no matter what they thought and felt, what they had come for had been done and it was time for them to leave. They were going to leave in few hours. Before leaving, they went to say goodbye to all the professors and students that were still in Hogwarts. They stayed for a while with the Marauders. Just before they were about to go, Harry was surprised when Lily gave him a short but brief hug, thanking for saving her life. It took Harry his entire self-control to control his emotions, for it was the first time he was hugging his mother, something he had wished for since his childhood.

After that, at last, they met with Dumbledore. They said to him, "Professor, this past year has been very fulfilling to us. We enjoyed teaching the students of this castle. We enjoyed being with some of the best professors in the wizarding world. But now, with Voldemort's attacks increasing, we have decided to take this tough choice. Ginny and I had promised Teddy's parents that we would protect him at all cost. He has no one other than us. He is our priority right now. We are very sad to resign from the position of DADA assistant professors." Dumbledore gave a sad sigh and said, "I was expecting this. The curse strikes again. I wish you the best on your journey Harry and Ginny." They thanked the professor once again and then left the office.

They then went to the Shrinking Shack and took the time turner out. They turned it 21 times forward. They felt the same feelings they had felt when they had travelled back in time. Once the feeling stopped, they opened their eyes and made their way outside. They went to Hogsmeade and checked the daily prophet. They were back to their time, in 1999. They then apparated to the Burrow.

As soon as they entered the Burrow, they were greeted by the entire Weasley family. Molly tightly hugged Ginny and Harry and then checked them. After being satisfied that both of them were ok, she took Teddy from them, who was peacefully sleeping and allowed others to greet them. After the greetings were over, they all sat around the dining table as Molly gave them a cup of tea and some biscuits. Harry and Ginny told them how the year was and asked them how their year went. Ron and Hermione had started dating and were together for 8 months till then. Hermione was working in the department for Magical Law Enforcement while Ron was working with George in the twin's joke shop.

Bill and Fleur were still in living in the Shell Cottage. Bill had stopped his curse breaking job and instead worked in the Diagon Alley branch of Gringotts. Fleur was also working in Gringotts. George had reopened the shop and was slowly getting over Fred's death. Ron later told them later that Angelina had been coming and staying in shop lot and it looked as if they would get together. Percy meanwhile was still in the ministry and was working as Kingsley's secretary. He had begun dating Audrey, who also worked in the ministry. Charlie was still working in Romania but was looking to come back to England, as a new dragon sanctuary was going to be opened in Wales. But the biggest change came in Arthur. He had got a promotion and was now the head of Magical Law Enforcement. He had protested it, but Kingsley had managed to convince him to take the position. Finally, the Weasley's were getting their due and Harry was very happy about it.

When they all were done, Hermione asked them with a smirk, "You have something you want to tell us Harry and Ginny?" A small blush came on their face as they admitted that they were dating. A huge cheer came from the males while Molly tightly hugged Ginny and Harry.

After all that, both Harry and Ginny went to the orchards. They sat down with Harry's back to a tree while Ginny sat between his legs. They sat like that in silence for few minutes. After a while, Ginny looked at Harry, who looked lost in some thoughts. Ginny said, "What are you thinking, Harry?" He said, "I was thinking about our trip to the past. Part of me is happy that I got to experience that. I got to see my parents. I got to see Sirius and Remus. I got to spend time with them. I got see them young and carefree. I got to hug my mum. But, another part of me is sad and angry. Sad because I knew that Marlene was going to die and angry because I couldn't do anything about it. I keep thinking what would have happened if I did. What if I broke the rules?" Ginny said, "I don't know what might happen Harry. But what I know is that by changing things, we will be risking change in what we have now. Do you want to change that?" Harry thought for a while, then said, "No. I don't want to change what I have now. I am happy with what I have now." And he truly was. Part of him would always miss his parents, Sirius and Remus. Part of him would always think how things would be if they had been alive. But he was happy with his life now. He had a family that cared for him and loved. He had a godson whom he loved like his own. He had friends who he knew would always have his back. And he had a girlfriend who loved him and would always be by his side.
