Chapter 134: Revenge
The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Recap: Brothers reunited! Darth Maul, the sinister Sith thought to have been destroyed so many years ago by Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, was found alive by his brother, Savage Opress, and taken back to Mother Talzin on Dathomir. Though Darth Maui's memory has yet to be fully restored, his need for vengeance has awakened, more powerful than ever.
On board the ship, they were flying, Maul was letting out some paranoid screams. After finding the person Mother Talzin had sent him to look for, he returned to Dathomir to help his brother regain his sanity and revenge. Maul was in shambles as he somehow managed to survive after being cut in half by Obi-wan nearly a decade ago. The former Sith apprentice had a spider bottom where his lower half was cut off and made up of machinery and junk.
"Patience, brother. We're almost home," said Savage as he could see Maul's sanity slowly dwindling.
"Far above, far above, we don't know where we'll fall. Far above, far above, what once was great is rendered small," mumbled Maul as he clutched his head.
"Brother..."
"Kenobi... Kenobi..."
"Brother, we have to go."
"Kenobi... Kenobi..."
"Fine. Stay here," stated Savage to Maul's mumbling as he exited the ship.
The brute exited the ship as he stepped foot on Dathomir. He looked around as he saw much destruction and carnage that lay about. Soon his attention was caught.
"Savage," said the voice of Mother Talzin.
"Mother," responded Savage.
The witch reappeared before the brute.
"Shall we?" questioned the witch.
"What happened here? Where are the rest of the sisters?" asked Savage as they began to walk forward.
"Dooku sent his minions to destroy us, but we will survive. We always have," said Mother Talzin as she spoke of the attack Dooku sent to their home and wiped out the Nightsister clan.
The pair got closer to the ship as Maul's screaming could be heard, even in the distance.
"You found him. I knew you would," stated Mother Talzin.
"Yes. He is damaged. He doesn't remember much of his old life." stated Savage as they walked up the ship's ramp to enter the hangar.
"Hmm. But he does remember something," said the witch.
"Something or someone named Kenobi. It is an obsession," spoke Savage as he didn't know what his brother was saying or meant by what he muttered."
"Come, let us fix what has been broken," said Mother Talzin.
The witch made an orb of magic appear as it floated forward. It slipped past the many crates that gathered together as it appeared in front of the former Sith Lord. Maul saw the light as he was drawn to it.
"Come to me. Come to me," echoed Mother Talzin's voice as the orb moved and Maul began to follow it. He appeared from the crates as he still kept his eyes on it. "Follow us, son of Dathomir. Follow me. Lost one. Come, child of Dathomir. Follow me."
The witch began to lead the brothers back to her temple as Maul followed the orb of light. Soon Maul was on a stone table before her as he was laid down, and she began to chant.
"Now sleep," said Mother Talzin as she touched Maul's forehead, and he closed his eyes.
The former sith apprentice shut his eyes as he then began to scream. It seemed the nightmares he suffered were now invading his mind.
"Now what?" asked Savage.
"Now we begin," said Mother Talzin.
The witch continued to chant as her magic began to take hold. It surrounded Maul as the warrior was now screaming. Maul's spider-like cybernetics were removed from his body as his upper body was still being held. Soon some wires from the cybernetics began to coil up and attach to his body as they were covered in Mother Talzin's magic. Soon some legs were made as they were a part of Maul.
"Arise, Maul, reborn son of Dathomir!" stated Mother Talzin as she cast her last bit of magic.
Maul soon landed on the stone table as Mother Talzin disappeared. Maul started to wake as he sat up and groaned.
"Brother?" said Savage.
Maul instinctively grabbed Savage's throat as he glared at him.
"Brother," responded Maul as he soon released his hold on Savage. He then looked at his new legs, which appeared to have some talon-like feet at the bottom. "My... My legs."
"They have been restored by Mother Talzin," said Savage.
"It has been so long, and my path has been so dark, darker than I ever dreamed it could be," said Maul.
"And yet you survived," stated Savage as he came up beside his brother.
"Of course, I survived," stated Maul before getting off the table.
He then put his new legs to the test as he broke out into a sprint. Savage followed him as the two exited the temple. Maul soon came to a halt as he saw his new body parts functionally perfectly as he let out a shout as the anger and fury he had resonated with the Force all around him.
"My hatred kept my spirit intact even though my body was not. Yet I was lost and became a rabid animal, and such is how you found me, brother. Discarded, forgotten. I have missed so much. The Force feels out of balance."
"Yes. There is conflict. The Clone Wars." stated Savage.
"Oh, yes. So it began without me," said Maul as he knew the idea that Sidious had informed him of years prior but was defeated before the full plan could flourish.
"You can begin again, brother," said Savage as he offered Maul his lightsaber.
Maul saw the object in Savage's hand as he put his hand out. The lightsaber moved slowly but flew straight into Maul's hand as it seemed he was still connected to the Force.
"I was apprentice to the most powerful being in the galaxy once. I was destined to become so much more, but I was robbed of that destiny by the Jedi, by Obi-Wan Kenobi," growled Maul as the scene of Obi-wan slicing him in half was constantly on his mind, engraved into his skull like a memory.
"Then you must have your revenge, my brother," stated Savage.
"Yes, we shall start with revenge," said Maul.
The pair then began to walk toward their ship.
The planet Raydonia was shown as a village of inhabitants walking about. A ship was flying above the village as it landed a few meters outside of the village.
"The supply ship's here. Go on ahead," said a woman to the children as they all began to head toward the ship.
On the ship were Savage and Maul as they docked the transport and approached the hangar.
"Brother, what are we doing here? The Jedi won't be out this far in the galaxy," said Savage.
"In a galaxy at war, Savage, there is only one way to get the attention of the Jedi," stated Maul as he opened the hangar door, as in the distance were the kids laughing. "Slaughter of the innocent, mercilessly and without compromise." The Sith warrior was shown turning on his lightsaber.
On Coruscant, in the communication center, several Jedi Masters were watching a sent hologram. On the hologram was Maul, and behind him were the villagers, who were all bonded as he circled them while delivering his message.
"There will be more innocent blood on your hands, Kenobi. Unless you come here. Face me. Come alone, and if you do not, this world will burn." stated Maul.
The Sith warrior turned on his lightsaber as he turned and swung; Obi-wan's face was shown as the hologram showed the bodies of the villagers falling forward, as a certain shadow of an object rolled away from all of them. The transmission ended as the Jedi were looking at each other. Obi-wan, in particular, had an expression after seeing what looked to be the image of the foe he thought was long gone.
"I have to go," said Kenobi.
"Not alone, you're not. We'll send a task force with you," stated Windu.
"No, you see what he's capable of."
"At least let one of us help you, Obi-wan. A Sith Lord is dangerous enough on his own; who knows what or who could be with him," stated Luna, as she didn't like her comrade to go by himself to confront this Sith warrior.
"He's a broken, unbalanced monster. I've dealt with him before. I can do it again." stated Obi-wan.
"I disagree. This is clearly a trap," said Celestia as she appeared with Yoda, the pair walking toward the group.
"Against my better judgment, agree with Master Kenobi, I do. Finish what he started long ago, Obi-Wan must," said Yoda.
"I'm off to Raydonia," said Obi-wan as he left.
"Master Yoda, if this is indeed Darth Maul, his capture is far too important to leave it to Obi-Wan alone," stated Windu.
"Mmm. Not alone will Kenobi be an unexpected ally he may have. Trust the Force, we must." said Yoda to all.
The room panned out as Storm was shown. The boy was passing by the communications room as he quietly listened to the conversation that the Jedi Masters discussed. He got up and quietly snuck away.
Twilight was in the archives as she was looking at some records. She was reaching for a book when she pulled it out, and Storm's face was there.
"Sparky."
"Ahh!" said Twilight as she fell back.
The girl was taken aback by seeing her partner as she turned to see Jocasta Nu looking at her. The librarian looked questionable as she saw the Jedi Knight on the floor; Twilight gave a sheepish smile and wave as the librarian seemed to buy it and left. The princess held her expression as the woman was out of sight; she then turned as Storm kneeled next to her. The girl was about to scream again when he put his hand over her mouth to silence her.
Storm gave her a look to remain quiet as he looked around.
"Come with me," said the boy as he grabbed Twilight's hand and lifted her up.
The boy guided the girl to a nearby closet as he looked to ensure that nobody saw them. He then opened it, and the two entered. With one flick of light, the pair were shown standing close to each other.
"So... uhm... what do you need?" asked Twilight, turning red at not only how close they were. But they were in a closet, alone... no one could interrupt them. She could... she could...
"I need your assistance," said Storm.
"Of course!" responded Twilight almost instinctively. She blushed at what she said before backing off. "I-I-I mean... what do you need my help with?"
"I would like you to help me out. I... overheard a conversation being held. Obi-wan is going to face a foe from his past. Apparently, it's a foe he killed almost a decade ago when he was on Naboo."
"You mean... the invasion that involved him and Qui-gon confronting a Sith warrior and him losing his master?" asked Twilight.
"Yeah, that one. I don't remember much, given I was only a kid. I only remember Luna saying that Qui-gon was killed in battle. Other than that, I never really questioned what happened during that time. When I went with Anakin and Obi-wan to look into Savage's presence when he first appeared, I didn't know the warrior's name until Obi-wan told me. I was hoping I could look at the report from ten years ago to get the full details. But I can't find it anywhere. Maybe you would know where it is?"
"Hmm..." Twilight was putting her hand to her chin, thinking, "Well, if it's not in the general section. There could be thousands of places it could be kept. But... I think I have an idea of where to look."
In a certain place on Tatooine, customers were shown. Many people were chattering while others were drinking. A group of bounty hunters gathered near the transmitters as they looked up at the wanted images of posted jobs.
"Hey, bounty hunters, stop monopolizing all of the transmitters," said the bartender.
"Shut off your speaker, droid!" said one of the bounty hunters.
The group continued to look at the jobs, trying to figure out which ones were worth taking.
"These marks are too easy. Not enough credits," said one of the bounty hunters as they flipped through the images. Soon the price for one of them came up.
"Whoa! A million credits! Who is this Savage Opress?" asked one of them.
"I'll take it!" stated another.
"Don't even consider it, boys."
The person saying that was none other than Ventress, who, after the massacre of the Nightsisters, had gone into a career as a bounty hunter, given how her last adventure with a group made her enjoy the new lifestyle. Ventress got up from her booth as she approached the monitor.
"I've got this one," said Ventress as she took the info for Savage's bounty and took off. Seeming looking to settle her score with him.
Speaking of the brute, Obi-wan was on a ship as he was approaching the planet Raydonian. He descended into the planet's atmosphere as he followed the coordinates to where the village was and where Maul was waiting for him. The Jedi saw his destination in sight as there was smoke rising into the sky.
He docked his ship just outside of the village as he got out. Kenobi was walking to the village as destruction and ruins lay about. Buildings were on fire as the Jedi Master walked past them; the sight alone meant that Maul didn't show mercy on who he killed in his path of destruction. Soon, he stopped as a voice spoke out.
"Jedi. I have been waiting for you," said Maul.
Obi-wan turned as Maul was standing on a hill of rubble with a fire burning behind him.
"I'm not sure I've made your acquaintance," said Kenobi.
"I am surprised you could have forgotten me so easily after I killed your master and you left me for dead on Naboo," stated Maul.
"It is you," responded Obi-wan with a scowl. Only one person would know what happened that day years ago, and it was the one who killed his master when he was a Padawan.
Just like that, twelve years in the making, two rivals were looking at each other. Both with hate for the other for what the other did to them. And just like over a decade ago, they were met face to face.
"You may have forgotten me, but I will never forget you. You cannot imagine the depths I would go to to stay alive, fueled by my singular hatred for you," explained Maul, reminded of the torture that Obi-wan put him through.
"That may be so, but I defeated you before, and I can defeat you again!" stated Obi-wan as he turned on his lightsaber and took a stance.
"Don't be so certain," chuckled Maul sinisterly.
On cue, Savage appeared as he jumped down behind the Jedi Master.
"You?" said Obi-wan as he saw Savage behind him.
The brute swung his lightsaber as Obi-wan blocked it but was pushed back by the power behind the attack. Maul then flipped into the air as he landed; Obi-wan was doing his best to block Savage's attack as they were swinging his own weapon back and forth. He kept being pushed back by Savage while blocking. They crossed blades as Obi-wan saw Maul standing up from behind him; that small distraction allowed Savage to disarm the Jedi by flinging it out of his hand with his lightsaber. He then elbowed the Jedi Master as he fell to the ground with his weapon landing in front of him.
Obi-wan was looking to grab it when it moved and flew upward into Maul's hand. He then used his other hand to push Obi-wan into Savage, who delivered a vicious clothesline as the Jedi Master fell to the ground again. Obi-wan grunted as he still willed himself to get up; when he turned around, he came face to face with Savage's fist and was knocked down again. This time, he was unconscious as Maul stood over his body and growled.
In space, a shuttle was shown exiting from hyperspace. It was none other than Ventress as she arrived at the planet Raydonina where Savage was reported. The assassin docked her ship and got out as she quietly snuck around. She came to a brush as she saw the ship the two brothers arrived in and began to head for it.
Inside, Maul was having his way with Obi-wan. The Sith warrior was torturing the Jedi Master while tossing him around the hangar bay, crashing him into boxes. Obi-wan grunted as he was on his hands and knees; Maul didn't give him any time to rest as he barreled through the knocked-over crates and began to drag the Jedi back to the center of the room to continue to punish him some more.
He tossed Obi-wan into Savage, and the Jedi only stood up due to the brute standing there like a wall. He then grabbed Obi-wan's head to turn around and hold him there to face Maul.
"Still as weak as ever. And they call you "Master." said Maul to Obi-wan, finding the Jedi not to be as powerful as he was given his rank. If anything, he was still the same weak Padawan he was back then.
As Kenobi's head turned from the impact, he hit Obi-wan in the face with the back of his arm. Savage bashed him into some pipes before flinging him into a hangar wall as Obi-wan laid across some crates.
"You know, when I cut you in half, I should have aimed for your neck instead," responded Obi-wan defiantly while clutching his ribs.
Savage growled as he grabbed Obi-wan's leg and threw him back to Maul, who landed in pain. Maul gave the nod to Savage as the brute left the hangar to go start the ship, leaving Maul with the Jedi Master. Savage entered the cockpit and pushed some buttons to fire up the engines. The ship began to take off as he returned to the hangar. As the ship was about to leave the ground, Ventress was shown running toward it with her lightsabers out as the ship got off the ground, and she jumped. She used her lightsabers as launching points, leaving marks in the ship as he managed to get on top of it.
"Anything more to say?" growled Maul, towering over his fallen foe.
"I like your new legs. They make you look taller," snickered Obi-wan in pain.
Maul stuck his hand out as he lifted Obi-wan with ease, clutched his neck, and got a hold of his face. The Sith warrior pulled out his lightsaber and held it close to the Jedi's face.
"I will make sure you stay awake long enough to feel every single out. Your death will be beyond excruciating. You will suffer as I have suffered!" stated Maul in a cold, menacing, evil tone that would make anyone fear.
The door to the hangar opened as Savage walked in. As the room panned out, Ventress was shown on the upper level of the hangar, hiding behind a beam. She took a deep breath before stepping out from her hiding spot.
"What a surprise. My former servant, still an animal. And you have a friend now." said Ventress as Maul let go of Obi-wan to look at her, as did Savage.
"My brother," responded Savage.
"A brother? Looks like he's half the man you are, Savage. How unfortunate. I was looking for a challenge, not some wretched castoffs from the Nightbrothers clan. What a disappointment." said Ventress as she stepped into the shadows and let out a sinister laugh that echoed around the hangar.
"Who is this, brother?" asked Maul as they stood back to back, looking around the room.
"A Dathomir witch. She betrayed me," said Savage as Ventress' laughter continued to echo. They looked up as they saw the door on the upper level close.
"She knows too much. Destroy her," said Maul, delivering one final hit to Obi-wan, who slumped to the floor as the brothers jumped up and went after the door that closed.
A few moments after they were gone, Ventress was shown emerging from the shadow as she stepped over Kenobi and bent down to check on him.
"Kenobi, don't tell me someone's finally knocked the fight out of you. Wake up!" declared Ventress to the Jedi Master. She flipped him over and shook him before giving him a light slap to the face as that seemed to work.
"Ventress?" questioned Obi-wan at what he was staring at.
"It looks like I'm here to rescue you," stated Ventress as she helped him up.
"When did you become the good guy?" asked Obi-wan brushing some dirt off his robes.
"Don't insult me," stated the assassin.
"Oh! What a lovely sight to wake up to," said Obi-wan.
"Don't flatter yourself, Kenobi. You've never been much to look at, especially now," snickered Ventress as they had their backs turned to each other.
"The witch and the Jedi," echoed Savage's voice.
"Here for our taking," stated Maul, behind the pair on the other side of the upper level.
Both Obi-wan and Ventress saw the two as Maul turned on his lightsaber. Ventress reached for her belt and offered Obi-wan one of her lightsabers so that he could defend himself.
"I want that back," demanded Ventress as Obi-wan took her weapon.
"That's fine. Red's not my color," snickered Kenobi as he turned on the lightsaber, "Ready?"
"Like you even have to ask," said Ventress as they took a stance with their backs to each other.
Maul and Savage jumped down as they approached their foes. Obi-wan and Maul began to immediately clash as they traded attacks. The Jedi blocked an overhead strike with his weapon aimed horizontally before pushing back. As for the others, Savage came under attack as Ventress moved out of the way and went for an attack as it was blocked. He swung as Ventress flipped back; he did another as she ducked and quickly swapped places with Obi-wan, who also ducked from Maul's latest attack.
Now fighting different foes, Obi-wan and Ventress did a roundhouse kick to their opponents before quickly trading places again and blocking an incoming attack. Ventress went for an overhead strike as Savage blocked it before she did a high knee to his face and made him stumble. She charged in as Savage pushed her to the side, as she crashed into some crates.
Her weapon was knocked out of her hands, and when she recovered, Savage grabbed her leg and flung her over a pile of crates. He slowly approached it as Ventress thrust her hands out to make the boxes collide with him. He turned away to avoid getting hit in the face as Ventress took that moment to jump on his shoulders and began to punch at him. Savage took some shots before grabbing her arm and flinging her down in front of him.
Savage was looking to bring his foot down when Ventress rolled back to avoid it. She punched his midsection as he swung, and she ducked, the lightsaber leaving a mark on the crates he slashed. She popped up to punch his face as Savage punched her backward onto a crate. Ventress kicked the one in front of her as she avoided his next strike.
Maul and Obi-wan were still fighting against each other as they were going blow for blow. They locked blades as Kenobi used the momentum to spin them in place while putting his hand out to keep Maul spinning and crashing into some crates. He saw Ventress in trouble as she tried to avoid Savage's attacks without a weapon.
The Jedi Master saw his lightsaber on Maul's waist behind him as the Sith was getting up. He growled and lunged at the Jedi as Obi-wan leaped over Maul, grabbing his weapon before landing. He then kicked Maul away to give him some breathing room.
"Ventress, catch!" shouted Obi-wan as he tossed the woman her lightsaber back as he had his.
Ventress caught it and turned just in time to block Savage's downward strike. Maul recovered and turned on his lightsaber as he engaged Obi-wan once more, as in the background, Ventress was on a knee, holding back Savage. Maul did a roundhouse kick as Obi-wan ducked but got hit by a second kick and was sent crashing into some boxes.
The Jedi climbed onto the second level as Maul saw him and jumped up. The two swung their lightsabers in their hands as they approached the other. They lunged as they clashed their blades in several attacks before coming to a standstill as they held their weapons against each other.
"Your master, Qui-Gon Jinn, I gutted him while you stood helpless and watched. How did that make you feel, Obi-Wan?" taunted Maul with an evil smile.
Obi-wan would always remember that day. That scene, of watching his teacher, the man who was like a father to him, be struck down by his rival before him, and all he could do was watch it unfold that day. The image of Maul striking down Qui-Gon was something that, like Maul, was engraved in his memory for the rest of his life. The image that haunted him, at times, made Obi-wan feel a bit of anger as he was looking to kill the foe before him again to get revenge for Qui-Gon's death. The Jedi yelled as he felt some rage take over as he began to strike carelessly, as Maul was blocking them with ease. He then blocked and kicked Kenobi into a wall.
"Your rage has unbalanced you. That is not the Jedi way, is it?" said Maul as he continued to taunt the Jedi, proving how effective he was in mind games and getting his foe off balance, as shown by his training under Darth Sidious.
Obi-wan stood up and held his lightsaber as he charged headfirst at Maul. The Sith warrior used the beam to swing around to avoid his attack and then, coming back, kicked Kenobi away. The Jedi stood up and charged again as Maul sidestepped. Obi-wan almost fell over the edge to the floor below as Maul kicked him in the back, as he fell.
Obi-wan landed as he got up and stood behind Ventress.
"We're outmatched," said Obi-wan.
"You want to run?" offered Ventress.
"I learned from watching you," responded Kenobi.
"Funny," snickered Ventress, keeping her eyes on Savage in front of them, "The cockpit?"
Maul then leaped down.
"Now!" shouted Obi-wan.
He then turned to lunge at Savage as Ventress turned to block Maul's attacks. Obi-wan was swinging his blade at Savage, who was blocking, as he went for a lunge to which the brute sidestepped. He swung as Obi-wan ducked before Savage grabbed and threw the Jedi behind him. That allowed Obi-wan to be near the exit as he pushed the button.
"Come on, come on!" shouted Kenobi.
Ventress began to do backflips as she caught Maul's chin on the first one. The woman was constantly doing that as she approached Savage, who was looking to strike her. Obi-wan used his hands to lift Ventress into the air and give her a boost as she twisted and landed behind the brute. She then thrust her hands out to push Savage as Maul was who leaping over him and coming at her as he thrust his lightsaber forward as he almost got Ventress when she exited as the door was shut.
"Hurry, Kenobi!" shouted Ventress as two blades pierced right next to her head.
"I'm working on it!" shouted Obi-wan as he was at the control panel, trying to push every button to launch them.
"Come on, hurry!" shouted Ventress as the pair were almost done cutting through, "Now would be a good time!"
"Blast!" shouted Obi-wan as he punched the panel.
That worked as the cockpit ejected from the hangar door just as the two warriors finished cutting through. Space began to suck them in as they held on tight. Maul could reach the panel as he pushed the button, and the door was now ray-shielded as it stopped the sucking of space.
"That was cutting it a little close," said Ventress as she slumped down against one of the pod's walls.
"You do know, it's not over," said Obi-wan.
"I know," responded Ventress.
"They'll be after us both now," warned Kenobi as the two Darthomirs were now going to hunt them down.
"What now, brother? Do we go after them?" asked Savage as they entered the main cockpit of the ship.
"No. We will be patient, Savage. I've waited so many years for my revenge. I can wait a little longer." said Maul as he sat and clasped his hands together.
"But the Jedi will know that you have survived. They will be coming for us," stated Savage.
"I am counting on it," said Maul, as this was what he was looking forward to. He had a smile, one of pure evil.
In the archives, Storm and Twilight were in a section of the library that the princess suggested would hold the report the boy was looking for. Hours they spent, as they were going through so many records. Aside from overhearing what Storm heard from the council when they were discussing Obi-wan going to confront Darth Maul, he also wanted this report for another reason.
"Anything, princess?" asked Storm.
"Nothing..." said Twilight as she was flipping through so many records at a rapid pace. "Hold on... I think I have something..."
The girl brought the record to their table and placed it on it. Storm stood next to Twilight as their shoulders touched, but neither was concentrated on that but the girl's record. The text was revealed as Twilight was about to read it before she looked at her partner.
"Can I ask? Why did you ask me to help find this? What are you hoping to find?" asked the girl.
"Well, apart from learning what happened with Obi-wan that day. There's another thing that's been weighing on my mind. You remember when I told you that I went with Padme and Anakin to see if we stop the Gungans from revolting against the Queen of Naboo. Well, we ran into Dooku and Sunset, they captured us, and in exchange for Grievous, they gave us back to Padme. But there's something that Dooku said before we fought. He said: the plans for the Clone War began on Naboo tweleve years ago."
"What?" said Twilight as she was dumbfounded by that. "You sure he wasn't..."
"That's what I want to know. If this report can tell us what exactly happened twleve years ago, maybe it'll hold a clue as to how we can end this war," stated Storm.
"That's... a thought, all right," said Twilight, "Well, let's see what shows us."
The princess looked at the text before she began to read it.
"The Invasion of Naboo. Date: 32 BBY. The crisis of Naboo involved the Trade Federation and the planet of Naboo itself. As a result of a blockade, it sparked a political debacle between the two parties. During the blockade, two Jedi were sent to negotiate with the Trade Federation."
"And that was Obi-wan and Qui-Gon," said Storm as he knew that detail from the Jedi Master himself.
"However, the Trade Federation deployed their troops to Naboo and tried to have the two Jedi killed. They escaped to the planet, where they rescued the Queen and escaped to Tatooine. From there, they were stranded but eventually escaped as they picked up a boy who was a slave."
"That was Anakin," added Storm.
"However, just as they were escaping, a Sith Lord appeared and attacked them. They managed to escape, but Qui-Gon decided to warn the Jedi Council of this development. Soon they arrived back at Coruscant, and from there, the Jedi informed the council of what they saw. And Qui-Gon told the council that he had found the Chosen One. The council was skeptical as the boy's future was a mystery; eventually, it would be decided later as the Queen of Naboo had decided to return home to deal with the threat herself. They arrived, and she forged an alliance with the Gungans to defeat the Federation. Ultimately, they were victorious and defeated the Dark lord that threatened them; however, it came at the cost of Qui-Gon Jinn."
"So... that Dark lord was Darth Maul. The one Obi-wan mentioned that killed Qui-gon. But... there's still something that's not clicking." Storm said. "Dooku said the seeds for this war were planted on Naboo. But... there's nothing in the report that states anything about a secret plan."
"Well, there's nothing else. All that's left is the funeral held for Qui-Gon and then Obi-wan taking on Anakin as his apprentice," said Twilight.
"If only there was a way to... I don't know... See it? If there was a way for us to look into the past and see it unfold with our own eyes. Maybe then, we could see what Dooku was trying to say. This report doesn't tell us every single detail." stated Storm.
The pair were now trying to wrap their minds around this. They stood there, trying to find solutions to help them find their answers. Soon a thought crossed Twilight's mind.
"Well... maybe there is..." said the girl.
"How?" asked Storm.
"Let's just say... we might need to visit someone. Someone who can... tell us the future, in a way."
Storm looked at Twilight with a raised eyebrow. The boy was trying to solve the girl's riddle. Soon a lightbulb went off.
"Zecora..."
Author's Note: And so we've reached the end of this story arc and the end of Season four. And the return of Obi-wan's rival has shifted things drastically. Meanwhile, Storm and Twilight are trying to do some research of their own to find some answers. And it seems they might need to head back to Twilight's homeworld to get in contact with someone who may be able to help. As always, leave a review expressing your thoughts and comments.
