Chapter 137: Experiments

"And here I thought fighting Grievous would give me bruises," said Storm as he quickly brought his lightsaber up to block an attack from a lance.

The boy was currently fighting for his life as he was fighting against one of the royal guards, more specifically, against the Soldier class. While he thought it would be easy for the Jedi, he misjudged how skilled the basic guard of the royal army was. The soldier spun his lance in his hand with ease before taking a stance and holding his weapon at the Jedi.

Storm spun his lightsaber as he readjusted his stance. He then ran forward and did an overheard strike as the soldier turned to block with his lance held behind him before turning to block Storm's next attack. The clash of their weapons could be heard in the arena.

Watching the Jedi be put through hell was Night Light as the King stood with his arms behind his back.

"Dad, is this really necessary?" pleaded Twilight to her father.

"It's for the good of Equis, Twilight. Equis hasn't stood for as long as it had because we've defeated our enemies. We've evolved, both with magic and technology. But even moreso because we know how to deal with all sorts of enemies and threats. Equis has never had to deal with a Jedi before. For all we know, the Jedi could have special powers that we don't know how to counter. But with these tests, we will understand everything that makes a Jedi tick."

After the small "experiment" Shining Armor put Storm during the wedding in Canterlot, Night Light wanted to see how far he could push the Jedi to his limits. He wanted to know everything there was to deal with this threat should they face someone like him. Plus, it made him smile to put the boy through hell for all he's done to influence his daughter's mind.

"He's definitely giving us a show," said Velvet as a servant approached her seat and offered her a drink as she took it.

Twilight, her parents, and Spike were all seated on the balcony watching the Jedi put through the "tests" that Night Light had organized. It also helped that anybody who defeated the Jedi would receive a handsome bonus, which motivated the guards. The small prince leaned back in his seat and began munching on the popcorn in his hand. Twilight was worried as she felt her father was punishing Storm due to all the suitors she declined.

The Jedi was now on the defense as he blocked an attack from the soldier. He stabbed his lance into the ground as he began to swing and kicked Storm away, who tumbled before getting to a knee. Storm lunged forward as the soldier swung his lance and kept the Jedi at a distance with his long-reaching weapon. The two gladiators were fighting like their lives depended on it; swing after swing, slash after slash, the sound of the lightsaber banging against the metal.

The soldier was shown going for a lunge with his spear as Storm jumped. The weapon stabbed into the ground as the Jedi was now balancing on the edge of it like a spider on a web. The Jedi did some rapid strikes to the guard with his lightsaber as his armor protected him from the plasma sword. The Jedi did a knee strike to the guard's face as he backed up, and Storm kicked the spear with his foot; it spun before coming down as he grabbed it in midair and tossed it. The soldier saw the spear coming and hit him in the chest, and he fell to the ground.

Storm took a deep breath as he looked up to see Night Light. The King was impressed to see the Jedi besting the soldier as the scientists running the machines, recording the results, helped the soldier up. He dusted himself before nodding to the Jedi for besting him.

"There he did your test, dad. Now can we leave?" asked Twilight.

"Twilight, you know better than anybody. One can never get results from a single experiment," spoke Night Light. "Send in the Fighter."

The King spoke to the speaker as he signaled his engineers and scientists to send the next candidate. Storm saw the door open, as came his next opponent. Another guard appeared as he was a member of the Fighter class. The guard reached to his back, pulled out his axe, and took a stance. The Jedi took a deep breath before turning his lightsaber back on.

"Let's see how he does against this challenge," smiled Night Light, seeming to enjoy Storm being put through hell.

Twilight sighed as she leaned back in her seat. The door behind the royal family opened.

"Did we miss it?" asked a raspy voice.

"No, Rainbow. It just started," sighed the princess.

Arriving were the rest of the girls. Rainbow had picked up Rarity as Pinkie and Fluttershy were with her on Coruscant. They were unaware that both Jedi were already on the planet as they were hoping to visit. So when the captain received a message from the King, saying to attend a special event, Rainbow couldn't make her ship enter hyperspace fast enough. Applejack was also invited by the royal family as they were joining Twilight and her family in watching Storm.

"So how many has he beaten?" asked the chromatic-haired girl.

"One. But he's got twenty more different classes to fight," said Night Light.

"Twenty?" said Twilight. "Dad, I thought we only had 18 different classes of guards."

"We added three more classes for our soldiers to master," said Night Light as he directed everyone's attention to a screen above Storm.

The Jedi also turned as he saw the many images of the many classes that made up the royal army.

"Soldier, Fighter, Warrior, Veteran, Knight, Apprentice, Mage, Wizard, Conjurer, Sorcerer. Shade, Specter, Shadow, Spy, Assassin. Then the unique classes: Hunter class, a combo of the Knight and Assassin. Battlemaster class, a combo of Knight and Sorcerer, and Ghost class, a combo of Assassin and Sorcerer." said Night Light as he ran down each of the current classes that made up their royal army.

"But now... we have three new unique classes. The first is Warmaster, a combo of Fighter and Brawler. Warmaster can also lead to a War monk class should they learn magic. So technically, there are four new unique classes. Next is Gremory, the highest class for magic. Dark, Reason and White magic mastery make up this class. And the final one is Falcon Knight."

"What's a Falcon Knight?" asked Aj.

Night Light directed everyone back to the screen as the image of the Falcon Knight appeared.

"The Falcon Knight is a pegasus-mounted flying class. High speed, movement, and resistance. Having both lance and sword-wielding abilities." explained the King.

"Hold on! You have pegasuses?!" yelled Rainbow, almost hurt that Twilight didn't tell her about these flying horses.

"They're a secret," muttered the princess to her friend before walking to her father. "I thought pegasuses were only supposed to be used in case of emergency."

"When dealing with a new foe, you take every precaution," said Night Light.

"Great," groaned Storm as he looked at the long list of fights he still had to do.

The Jedi was distracted by what he saw on the screen that he didn't see the Fighter rush at him as he barely put his lightsaber up to block. The boy skidded a few meters back as he stopped himself. Storm put his hand out to use the Force. However, the guards knew the Jedi relied on the Force as their armor countered that. The armor automatically took in the change in gravity, mass, magnitude, and shift as it held the person in place.

Storm was a bit shocked at what he saw. Night Light wasn't lying when he said Equis didn't survive for as long as it did without evolving its magic and technology. The royal army was prepared to deal with a Jedi's Force powers, as evidenced by what was in front of him. The boy put his hand down as the Fighter rushed toward him. Lightsaber and axe clashed as the guard went on the offense.

He elbowed Storm as he stumbled back, the Fighter throwing his axe as it soared toward the boy. The Jedi sensed it as he moved his head back; it passed him as his head came back up, but the axe responded to the Fighter as it was coming back. Storm also sensed it as he rolled out of the way, and the weapon landed back in the Fighter's hand.

"Something tells me I'm in for more secrets," grumbled Storm as he began to rush at the Fighter.

Hours passed, and Storm had just barely gone through half the field. Each time, the Jedi managed to find some way to claim victory, but each class came with new surprises. New tactics that made the Jedi have to find unique ways to beat them. The magic classes proved tough as the Jedi had to get close and deal with the mages who could keep him at bay with their spells.

The Jedi finally took down the Sorcerer class guard as he stood over the woman with his lightsaber aimed at her neck. He breathed heavily as he stumbled off and clutched his head before dropping to a knee. The royal family and the girls were still watching the boy as he kept impressing them with his skills. Night Light glared as he was slightly angry, seeing the boy still standing.

"Send in the next one!" stated the King, not giving the Jedi a chance to take his breath.

The door opened, and in came a guard of the Shade class. Storm was breathing the most he'd ever been; he tried to get to his feet as he struggled a bit. Night Light was about to give the guard his command when Twilight grabbed his arm.

"Dad, please. Just... let him breathe," pleaded Twilight at how her father treated Storm like a dog.

"It's... fine... Twilight..." said Storm, struggling to breathe. He got to his feet and could barely see in his fingers as he somehow managed to turn on his lightsaber, and his hands shook. "I... I-I can do this... all day..."

Night Light felt like the boy was disrespecting him and his guards by what he said. He looked at his daughter as she held his arm and a pleading look. The King saw how concerned she was for her partner.

"Heal him up!" ordered Night Light to the Sorcerer, who was still present.

The Sorcerer nodded at what the King said. She made her way to the Jedi as he fell to a knee. She put her hands out as they began to glow; she channeled into her white magic as it cast over the teen. Within seconds, the healing magic took effect, and Storm could feel his vitality returning. He laid down and did a kip up as he showed he was re-energized. The boy twirled his lightsaber in hand as he felt like he could go.

The Sorcerer exited the room after completing her duty as the Shade guard took a stance.

"Thanks, dad," said Twilight to her father with a grateful smile.

"Begin!" shouted the King.

Storm turned on his lightsaber as the Shade put his mouth hoodie up. He smiled before disappearing into the shadows. The boy was stunned as he looked around, keeping his lightsaber up, waiting for any attack that might come. He was looking around when the Shade reappeared from the shadows as he had a dagger. The guard struck fast and quick as Storm blocked before disappearing again.

Storm tried to sense where he was when he popped out and did another series of quick and fast attacks.

"Let's see if he can hit something he can't see," snickered Night Light.

"How's he doing that?" asked Rarity, wondering how the Shade class was appearing and disappearing in the blink of an eye.

"Magic and technology are a deadly combo. When together, they create impressive results. Shadow magic; harnessed to phase into the shadows created by objects and move about so that you can pop out at any given time." said Night Light.

"Equis has a strong army at our command," said Velvet.

Storm did several backflips in a row as he avoided the quick slashes that the Shade attempted. The Jedi now stood in the center of the room, trying to figure out where his foe would strike.

Okay, Storm. Focus. You can't see your opponent. You try to sense him, but their armor makes them invisible to my Force powers. I won't be able to sense them until they're right on top of me. Using the shadows, I need help pinpointing where he will strike from. But how do you hit a shadow?

Storm turned to block an attack from the Shade before he disappeared again. The Jedi growled as he didn't see any way to combat his vanishing foe. He then looked at his pendant as it glowed a bit. A flash of light appeared when the object shined at a certain angle.

"Of course," said Storm as he jumped into the air, unintentionally avoiding a sneak attack. "If you want to catch a shadow, you shine a light on it!"

The Jedi took the pendant that Twilight gave him and tossed it. The thing flew as it spun; the lights that lit the room shined on the pendant as it reflected the rays of light and spread out. Storm was coming down as the reflected light shined; for a second, he saw the outline of the Shade coming to attack him. The Jedi adjusted his body as he shifted himself to fall upside down, blocking the attack from the now-visible Shade.

They held for a bit before breaking apart as Storm rolled to the ground. The Jedi then threw his lightsaber at the Shade before he could disappear as the guard moved his head out of the way, which allowed Storm to close in as he used his power and made his lightsaber start to reappear in his hand as he thrust his arm out. The guard saw the weapon starting to materialize in the boy's hand as he attempted to put his weapon up to block, but the momentum behind Storm's arm thrust was powerful. His arm extended as the lightsaber reappeared, and he pushed the Shade off balance and fell to the floor.

The Jedi pointed his weapon at the Shade by his feet. He put his other hand out as his pendant fell into it. The guard nodded as he accepted the defeat.

"Looks he passed, dear," smiled Velvet to her husband.

"He's still got more. Send in the Specter!" announced Night Light.

Storm looked as his new foe appeared. The boy was halfway through the field but felt this would be far from over.

Hours passed even more as Storm passed the rest of the Third and Fourth Rank guards. He disposed of the Specter, followed by the Shadow, Spy, and Assassin. He was now onto the unique classes of the Fifth and Sixth Rank guards. He engaged with the Hunter guard as he had several lances on his back in a crisscross as on his side, a sword was sheathed. His attire had fur, but under it was the armor as he looked like someone who would track and hunt animals in cold weather.

Then came the Battlemaster as Storm was given some painful memories. The big guard had a hammer and shield on his back as, in his hands, he spun the chain he was holding. Storm knew that if it wrapped around any part of his body and the Battlemaster activated his armor, it would send a jolt of electricity to him in an attempt to shock its target. After a struggle, the Jedi got rid of the chain as he was now engaged with the Battlemaster while avoiding the hammer swings to avoid injury.

Storm was shown dodging and ducking the swings of the mighty hammer as he lunged and went for a stab. The Battlemaster brought his shield up as the lightsaber ran into it, tip-pointed, and bounced off. Storm stumbled before going for another attack as it smacked the shield, creating a sound but no mark. The teen did several batting swings as he smacked his lightsaber as hard as possible against the shield, but it didn't suffer any damage. The Battlemaster thrust his hammer out as he caught Storm and tumbled to the floor.

"Why didn't the shield break?" asked Fluttershy, wondering how Storm's lightsaber was ineffective.

"That's because our shields are made from a tough metal component. An alloy that's stronger than steel and three times its weight. It's also completely vibration absorbent." said Night Light to the girls. "Our soldiers are prepared to deal with almost any threat that may harm us."

The King was not wrong. All this magic and crazy tech that Equis had. That the royal army had. No wonder they survived for as long as they did and could deal with so many foes. Storm tried to push the Battlemaster back, but the big guard stabbed his shield in front of him into the floor; it spread out to the sides and created a small wall in front of the warrior. The Force spread out when it hit the wall as it didn't even budge an inch.

"You got to be shitting me!" shouted Storm as the mini-wall returned to a shield.

"Puny Jedi," said the Battlemaster as he charged at the boy.

Storm saw the massive train coming at him as he barely dodged roll out of the way. The teen turned as he avoided the swings from the Battlemaster before going in for his own attacks. The guard raised his shield as Storm's lightsaber banging against the hard metal echoed for all to see.

"Seems he fails to realize. No matter how hard he hits, that shield won't break. He's wasting energy, plus, as I said, the metal in that shield absorbs his vibrations, so when it builds up enough, it'll shoot back out and hit him," smiled Night Light at seeing Storm essentially defeat himself.

"Storm! Stop hitting it!" yelled Twilight.

"Silence, Twilight!" said the King as he grabbed his daughter's shoulder to sit her down and not interrupt the experiments.

The girl tried to warn her partner, but Velvet snapped her fingers as she made chains appear and restrained Twilight's hands to her armrest. The girl tried to get out of the binds of her mother's magic, but it was too powerful; she looked at her mother and was stunned by what she had done.

"Mom..."

"Obey your father, Twilight," said Velvet, "He knows what he's doing."

The girl sighed as she obeyed her parents. Storm was still hitting the shield with his lightsaber as he tried to make some dent in the tough metal. The boy was unaware that his hits were piling up and storing the energy as it was about to unleash. The Jedi was coming in for his latest attack when the shield released the energy it stored up and shot out in a spread; it hit the boy dead-on, and he tumbled to the floor. The teen grunted in pain as his lightsaber was a few meters away.

"Okay... that hurt like a bitch," said Storm as he clutched his side from the tumble he took.

The Battlemaster looked at his downed opponent as he struggled to get up. He looked up at the King in his viewing room as Night Light nodded. The guard nodded as he followed his orders; he began to march toward the Jedi as his hammer dragged along the floor. Storm was shown reaching out for his lightsaber as he didn't realize the massive guard was walking toward him.

"Okay, new plan. Don't ever do that again," grunted Storm as he turned.

He slammed back to the floor as the Battlemaster put his foot on the boy's chest, pinning him. Storm tried to move it off of him, but it was no use. The Battlemaster began to raise his hammer with both hands.

"Dad..."

The Battlemaster raised his hammer above his head.

"Dad!"

Storm looked as his eyes were focused and saw what the guard would do. He then began to bring it down.

"DAD!" yelled Twilight, trying to get her father to stop the guard from killing her partner.

The hammer was about to be smashed into the boy as he stuck his hand out. The hammer held in place as the Jedi was using the Force to stop it. However, he was weak from the battles he'd been in; he was starting to lose his hold on the weapon. It began to slowly move as the Battlemaster pressed his weight on his weapon and got it closer to the boy's face. Inch by inch, it got closer to Storm's face as he struggled to hold on.

Night Light observed this with a keen eye. The King heard the pleas from his daughter as he knew she was worried for him. Which was why he wasn't here to kill the Jedi, no... cause if that did happen, he would want the satisfaction of doing that himself. To show what happens when you get close to his daughter. He was about to call off the Battlemaster when Storm used his Force powers to stop the hammer momentarily. Now the King wanted to see how the Jedi would get out of this situation so they could record it for future reference.

Just as it looked like Storm was about to lose his hold, Night Light raised his hand to signal his guard to stand down. However, something happened.

Storm's eyes shot open as he growled. Soon the Force responded to his emotions as he did a Force repulse that pushed the Battlemaster off of him. The guard stumbled a bit before gaining his footing; there stood the boy as he was tapping into his powers using his emotions. Night Light observed this as Storm rushed forward in the blink of an eye.

The Battlemaster lifted his shield as Storm began to bang on it again. Everyone was stunned by what the Jedi was doing as they knew the shield could absorb his hits and release the energy. The teen kept hammering at the shield as if nothing had happened. But then, the Battlemaster began to move. His feet were dragging along the floor as the Jedi pushed him back with his attacks. The guard was surprised as he tried to reinforce his stance, but Storm kept pushing as he screamed. The shield took the hits as a crack formed on a minuscule level.

Storm reeled back as he gave a cry and swung his lightsaber. It hit the shield as a loud bang echoed around the room; not only that, the shield was cut in half diagonally. Everyone gasped when they saw what the boy did as they couldn't believe their eyes. Storm knocked the hammer away from the Battlemaster as he thrust his lightsaber forward. The guard saw the blade's tip as it was directly in between his eyes. The teen growled as he looked at his foe before coming down from the adrenaline he rode as he stumbled back and fell on his bottom. Panting heavily at what he did. The chains holding Twilight's wrists disappeared as the girl rushed to the window to see her partner.

"Impossible," muttered Velvet, knowing how hard the material was for their shields.

"No way! That was awesome!" said Spike, standing on his chair. "But I thought it couldn't break?"

"Shenran!" said Night Light.

"Yes, your Majesty," said the blacksmith as he appeared next to the King.

"Reinforce the shields. Make sure that they can now withstand a blow like that."

"At once, your highness," responded the teen as he left to improve the shields for the royal army.

"Moondancer. Have you recorded that?" asked Night Light.

"Yes, your highness. We are now implementing the data for all our guards. With this, we now have another piece of info about how a Jedi fights. Soon we'll have a counter for that." said the handmaiden of the princess.

"Good. Now then... send in the Ghost," stated the King.

"Dad, give him a few minutes, please," said Twilight to her father.

"Enemies don't play fair, Twilight. You should know that better than anybody," said Night Light as he treated this like a real-life situation. And that was to keep your enemy from having time to rest or counter when they're down for the count.

The doors opened as Storm looked to see his next challenger. However, there was nothing as the door closed. The boy was confused as he stood up. He looked around, keeping his eyes and ears open for any sneak attack. He sensed something as he went to punch the space where the attack was coming from but got punched in the face. The Jedi fell to the floor. When he got up, he was punched several more times in the face before being kneed in the midsection. To everyone else, it showed Storm fighting thin air, but there was, in fact, someone there.

The boy was a knee as he looked up. Behind him, the Ghost guard appeared as he put his arms around the Jedi and applied a sleeper hold. Storm struggled to get out as he elbowed the guard before grabbing and flinging him over. The guard landed on his feet as he turned and came face to face with Storm's fist. However, the guard disappeared as Storm hit nothing. The Ghost popped out and was going for a punch as Storm leaped to do a back kick. The two met; however, Storm's leg was phasing through the guard's arm, shocking the boy. While he couldn't make contact, the Ghost did as he punched the Jedi before disappearing.

The teen fell to the floor before seeing his foe in front of him. He yelled as he just went for a straight punch to his chest. His fist phased directly through the guard as he stood there, not feeling the punch go through his body as shown. He was, in fact... a ghost. The guard grabbed his arm and flung the Jedi over him as he crashed.

"How's he doing that?" asked Pinkie.

"Because the Ghost class is special. Just like the other unique classes that make up our army, the Ghost class has abilities that make it special. The armor worn by those in the Ghost class has a special technique we've named: Permeation. By wearing this armor, they can phase their entire body through anything. Including solid ground." said Night Light.

"No way?!" shouted the girls in disbelief.

Storm tried to attack the Ghost guard as he fell to the ground. He then popped up and punched the Jedi before disappearing into the ground again before the teen could retaliate.

"So, he's actually falling through the ground when he does that?" said Rainbow as they saw the Ghost guard disappearing to avoid Storm's attack and launch counterattacks.

"Yup. Just like a real ghost," said Night Light as he watched Storm struggle to fight this foe. "Things that have mass can't overlap. So when the Ghost falls to the ground and deactivates their powers, they get repelled upwards. By changing the angle based on the direction of their body or the pose they're holding, they can aim for where they get repelled too. However, there are things to consider when the Ghost uses its power. First, their lungs can't take in oxygen. Even if they breathe in, it'll go through. In the same way, vibrations go through their eardrums; even light can't pass through their retinas. That means they can't feel anything in that state. They fall even while they have a body. And they can pass through anything. Even... light itself."

"What the hell?!" exclaimed Rainbow, hearing that before turning to Twilight. "Just what kind of army do you have at your disposal, Twilight!" the pilot, obviously impressed by what kind of soldiers the royal family had that made up their army.

"The best of the best!" stated Velvet. "Equis has perfected its army to stand against everything. At its peak, magic, and technology are used by our army to take down any evil. It's why we've handled any foe or threat that's harmed our planet."

"Tell me, Twilight? Can your Republic or your clone army do this?" said Night Light, continuing to look at the fight while emphasizing how advanced they were compared to the army his daughter commanded on the front lines.

"I still don't get it," said Applejack.

"It's like this," said Twilight as she explained the concept to her friends. "Say you approach a wall; you have to concentrate hard. The Ghost will activate everything except one leg. Then they release the other leg and land on it. And then the first leg is the last one to go through. Even for a simple action like that, a bunch of little steps is involved."

As Twilight was saying that, The Ghost was hammering Storm. The boy tumbled to the floor as he struggled to deal with this foe. The way the King described it, it seemed like there was no way for the Jedi to deal with a guard who had the actual powers of a ghost.

How do I fight something like this? Wait a minute... the planet's mass is way stronger than anything the human body can produce. So that means... gravity can affect him.

Storm was nailed with another punch as he tumbled again. The Ghost disappeared back into the ground as Storm placed his hands on the ground and concentrated.

Focus. Focus. Focus.

The Ghost started coming up in the ground below as he spotted the Jedi on his knees. He was starting to activate his abilities to pop out and hit the boy again.

NOW!

Storm's hand transferred his powers as the Ghost felt the gravity around him change. It shot him upward, off-course, and he popped out in front of Storm. The Jedi quickly lunged as he twisted his body and delivered a back kick to the guard's face as it turned. The Ghost fell and hit the floor as he lay there, now visible. Storm breathed heavily as he defeated his foe.

"He defeated the Ghost," said Night Light before having a sneaky smile, "Good. Now we can test the new classes."

The doors opened as Storm turned to see one of the new classes of guards appear. The Warmaster appeared as he wore bear-fanged gauntlets. The Jedi saw the Warmaster quickly lunge at him as he put his arms up, and he was sent back a few feet before coming to a stop. The teen felt the punch from the Warmaster as he fell to a knee. The new class that Night Light mentioned was as tough as he said.

"I can do this all day..." sighed Storm.

It was now down to one. One last fight. Storm was at his limit, he managed to barely defeat the Warmaster, and after that, he took on the Gremory. The new magic class excelled in all types of magic. Now, Storm was on the cusp of finishing these experiments. One last class remained.

"Your majesty," said Moondancer to Night Light as she had been recording all of Storm's fight to improve their army.

"Deploy the Falcon Knight," said the King.

The doors opened one last time. And in a blur came the last guard. It was female as she rode on a pegasus as it neighed. The rider was shown as she wielded a lance while a sword was on her hip. The Jedi drew his lightsaber as he prepared to battle. The Falcon Knight made her first move as she quickly drew the bow on her back and began to fire arrows at the boy.

Storm was slashing at the arrows and blocking them as the Falcon Knight pushed him back. She then put her bow back, flicked the reigns of her pegasus, and charged at the Jedi. Storm twirled his lightsaber as he leaped into the air to meet the Falcon Knight. Their weapons clashed as they zoomed past each other; the teen landed and turned as he saw the Falcon Knight coming back around.

The Falcon Knight began to fight the Jedi as she made the Jedi take steps back as he defended. She lunged with her spear as Storm jumped and landed on it. He was going to attack the rider when the pegasus bumped its head into him as he was thrown to the floor.

"What the hell?" said the Jedi as he didn't expect the pegasus to protect the rider.

"Thank you, my friend," said the Falcon Knight as she petted her pegasus to show she was grateful it protected her.

She charged ahead as Storm rolled to the side and got on his feet. He saw the Falcon Knight coming as he attempted to use the Force. The pegasus neighed as it flapped its wings, creating a heavy wind that blew in the Jedi's direction as he was taken off his feet. He rolled through his tumble before bouncing off a wall and heading for the Falcon Knight in the air. He swung his lightsaber as it knocked the lance from her hand.

The Falcon Knight then switched back to her bow and began to fire arrows as Storm cut them down the middle, clean in half, before throwing his lightsaber at her and knocking the bow to the ground. The lightsaber returned to his hand as the Falcon Knight charged at him and drew the sword on her side. The Jedi glared as he ran at the guard; they were charging head first as both were moments away from connecting. Soon they ran past each other as a slash sound was heard.

Storm came to a halt as he took a stance. The Falcon Knight behind him was shown as she and her pegasus tumbled. She struggled to get to her feet before lying down as she was defeated. Her pegasus checked on her as he nuzzled its nose to her face as she stirred and smiled. The Falcon Knight rubbed the pegasus' nose as she was grateful the animal was concerned for her well-being.

Storm turned as he smiled before falling flat on his back. The boy looked up at the ceiling, finally glad that this was over. The experiments and trials that Night Light had him do were done.

"Impressive," said Night Light, with a hand under his chin.

"The last data has just come in, your Majesty. We now have more info thanks to him," said Moondancer to the King.

"Very good. See to it that all guards are given it and study it. We now have more info on how to deal with a Jedi." said Velvet.

"At once, your highness," said Moondancer as she left.

"So... he's done, right, Dad? No more," said Twilight to her father, hoping he could finally let Storm go.

Night Light didn't say anything but pushed a button. Storm heard something as more doors were shown and began to open. They surrounded the room as exiting from each one of them were all the different classes of guards that the boy had spent the entire day fighting. The Jedi sat up as he saw the guards slowly approach him. The Falcon Knight got back on her pegasus as she took to the air and stared down the Jedi. The mage classes had their tomes ready to cast their magic at a moment's notice.

"Dad!" said Twilight as she looked at her father.

"Whoops. I might have forgotten one thing," said Night Light with a fake smile.

The King looked down at the Jedi as he was surrounded.

Let this be a warning, Jedi. Do not get close to my daughter!

"Equis in aeternum!" shouted the Soldier class as he banged the end of his lance into the floor.

"Equis in aeternum!" responded the other classes as some of them did the same with their weapons while others stomped their feet.

"Equis in aeternum! Equis in aeternum! Equis in aeternum! EQUIS IN AETERNUM!"

Over and over, the guards chanted the words. The Jedi heard those, and they brought a sense of fear into him. The royal army guards used an ancient tactic of doing a war cry. The war cry was recorded in the history books of Equis that it was said that just an army of 100 men would look like 10,000 men based on the war cry alone. That's how scary and powerful it was. Records depicted scenarios of enemies looking up at the hills, and seeing and hearing the cry of the royal army was enough to send most of them to retreat before actual combat ensued. And now, Storm was experiencing what it was like to face the royal army as their war cry gave them power.

Storm looked all around him as he had no way of escaping. Broken, battered, and bruised, the Jedi had no energy left. His Force powers reached their limit as he could collapse with a gust of wind. The teen looked up for a bit as he took a deep breath while running his hand through his sweaty hair. Storm had his hands on his hips as he looked at the fourth wall for a bit before shrugging his shoulders. The boy knew it was time to go down swinging.

He quickly put both hands out to his sides as he tried to push them all back. The guards felt it as they skidded back a few feet before gaining their footing, given how weak Storm was. The Sniper and Falcon Knight pulled back on their bows and fired arrows at the Jedi. Storm turned on his lightsaber as he was blocking them as best he could. The magic classes fired their magic and spells at him as he jumped away. He landed and began engaging with the close-quarters classes of guards as he swatted at their weapons to defeat them.

However, a chain wrapped around the arm wielding his lightsaber as electricity flowed through. The Battlemaster managed to get a hold of the Jedi as he sent the electricity to slow the boy down. Storm yelled in pain as he was shocked; the mages all took their shot at the teen and pelted him with spells as he grunted. Soon the others began to run in and deliver a punch to his upper body as Storm was helpless.

Soon, Storm's eyes began to close. The Battlemaster reeled his chain back in as the teen was shown standing before falling face-first to the floor. His lightsaber rolled out from his hand as the Shadow guard picked it up. Every guard approached the Jedi as they stood in a circle around him. The Ghost appeared as he flipped the boy over onto his back. He got on top of the Jedi as the hidden blade on his wrist came out; he raised his arm and was about to bring the dagger down.

"That's enough!" said Night Light as he raised his hand.

The guards all heard the command as they looked up. They saw their King as he held the signal for them to stop.

"Stand down," said Night Light.

"Yes, your Majesty!" said all the guards as they lined up and bowed before the King to show their respect and loyalty.

The different guards were all kneeling while in front of them was Storm. Not moving, he was unconscious from all the pain and brutal fights he'd been through. Night Light looked at Storm as he smiled, knowing full well he had made his point about him trying to get close to Twilight.

"Mages. Have him healed up. And then take him to the infirmary for any last checkups!" ordered Velvet as she stood by her husband's side, clinging to his arm.

"Yes, your highness!" said all the magic classes.

They collectively approached the downed Jedi and began to cast some white and healing magic on the teen. His bruises and vitality were restored, but Storm was still unconscious. Soon two of them picked him up by his arms and began to drag him away to rest.

"Dismissed!" said Night Light to the rest of the guards.

They stood at attention and saluted the King and Queen. Night Light and Velvet wrapped their arms around each other as they began to leave. Velvet grabbed Spike as they headed out the door. Twilight was left behind with the other girls as she put her hands to the window. As she sighed, the girl saw her partner being dragged away to rest. Twilight knew why her father did this; aside from learning more about the Jedi, he was trying to message her partner to not get in the way of her getting married and accepting the throne.

Storm was in the infirmary room as he sat on the edge of his bed. The boy was fully back to health as he awoke a while ago. The doctor came in to do some final checkups on the boy to see if he had suffered anything. With no signs of anything bad, he deduced Storm was fine. He left to inform the King as Velvet entered the room moments later.

"You're awake," smiled Velvet.

"You treat all your guests like that?" asked Storm, trying to crack a joke to ease the tension.

"Only the ones my husband doesn't trust with our daughter," Velvet responded. "Here."

"Thanks," said the boy as he took his lightsaber from the Queen. "So... what are you going to do with the info?"

"You need not concern yourself with that," said Velvet, "Just focus on your duty of keeping my daughter safe and being her personal knight. Understand."

"Yes," responded Storm.

Velvet placed her hand on his head and rubbed it. The Queen gave a motherly smile as she walked away.

He's a sweet boy. I hope he confesses his feelings for Twilight soon.

Author's Note: We now have a good look at how the army of Equis functions. All the different classes, each with their own unique set of abilitiesthat make them work. It's as Velvet said, Magic and Technology go hand in hand that it has allowed Equis to evolve so fast and survive for so long. And how they deal with many different threats/creatures. And now with Storm providing them more info, they are even more prepared on how to take down a Jedi. And especially that war cry, that can incite fear into even the toughest person, when you see and hear that, it's a sight to behold if you're on the enemy side. And let's not forget that there are pegasus that exist, but are used by the royal family only when dealing with huge threats. As always, leave a review expressing your thoughts and comments. And I hope the different classes, including the new ones introduced, caught your eye.
