Chapter 139: Dreams and Nightmares
In the castle library, Twilight told her family how she spent the day with Storm and the others; she was extremely happy about how great the day was. The princess had a big smile on her face that expressed how much happy she was. She could explode easily.
"...Today was so wonderful, and the best part of all is that Storm noticed me!" Twilight concluded, keeping her big smile with a blush that never left.
"And don't forget that you gave him a kiss on the cheek," said Cadance with a sly smile.
Night Light was seated away from the others by the couch as he sat next to a window. Upon hearing what Twilight did, his hand bawled into a fist as it was his general reflex to hearing what his daughter said.
"YES!" She said, even happier and blushing than before, and then she took the cushion off the couch and yelled on it all of the happiness she was having. "That was the best part of all," She said as she let herself fall on the couch.
"That's our Twilight," Her mother said, feeling happy and proud of her as her daughter sat on the couch.
"I knew you could make him change his mind," smiled Cadance as well, feeling the love that filled the room because of Twilight.
"Hey Twily, you're still wearing Storm's hoodie; you forgot to return it," Shining Armor said to her; then she looked at herself and was still wearing Storm's sweater.
"Eemm ups," She said, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"Oh dear, love has really changed you," Velvet said to her daughter, shaking her head, keeping the smile as she rubbed the back of her head a bit blushed.
"Well, that's how it is, isn't it?" She said with a smile as she shrugged, still a bit embarrassed.
"Isn't she cute when she's like that?" Cadance said to all as Velvet, and Shining Armor smiled.
Night Light sighed as he got up from his chair and left the room quietly. Velvet was the only one who noticed her husband leave due to his mood as she sighed.
"Alright, it's late, time to go to bed, and you don't have to wear off his hoodie," said Shining Armor to his little sister.
"Haha, very funny," Twilight said to her brother as she stood up with her face a bit red.
"Hey, just like Pinkie said, you're wacky for that guy," Cadance said as Twilight went to her room.
"I'm not that crazy for him," Twilight said while walking toward the door and passing through it.
"Mm-hm," Shining Armor sarcastically said.
"I heard you!" She said, sounding offended.
Everyone was sleeping now as the peaceful night ended the special day. Twilight was submerged in her dreams, thinking, caring, and loving the boy she loved. Unbeknownst to her, and Storm was napping in his home, her dreams soon affected his.
Storm woke up in an unknown place separate and was lying on the soft grass, having a view of the starry night sky, which was beautiful. When the Jedi stood up, he saw that he was in a forest with no idea how he had ended up there.
"Where am I? How did I get here?" Storm asked, looking all around the forest and seeing only trees and trees, it was a nice place, but he didn't have time to sit around and do nothing.
While walking into the woods, looking for a way out of this mysterious forest. The boy was walking around with no exact direction because he needed help finding the exit. Still, he felt something strange about the place itself; it was a weird feeling that he was having, he couldn't explain it, but it was something about the forest that made him feel like that. Still, even so, he couldn't just sit around and try to figure out what it could be. He kept looking for the exit of that unknown and rare woodlands, but then…
"Storm..."
A voice cooed lovingly at him, making him stop and stand still as if he were frozen. The boy couldn't even move his fingers as his face began to turn red to his head the sound of the voice; it was so harmonic, delicate, and soft as silk, then the Jedi Knight began to turn slowly around toward the way he came from, but the weirdest thing is that he wasn't able to control his movements, his body moved completely on his own as if his heart was what was controlling his body.
"Storm. Come here..."
The voice called for Storm as if the sweet sound of the lovely voice hypnotized him. He followed the order and began to walk as if he couldn't do anything else as the heat on his face began to intense up. Walking one step at a time, he could only wonder who was calling him and why he could not control his body or even why his heart was beating extremely fast with every made step as well the intense blush on his face.
"When I first saw you, my entire world turned upside down. You have no idea how I feel about you... Do you feel the same way?"
The voice echoed in Storm's mind making him feel even more bewitched, making him forget about everything else and only focus on going with who was calling him, but part of him couldn't stop thinking about what was going on or who was calling him, that voice apart of being beautiful and comforting it was also recognizable, it was a feminine voice, a girl was calling him. But who? Storm then began to focus on finding out who was calling him; he searched down into his memories for the voice of the girl he knew, but only one came up to his mind in his mind… A certain purple-haired girl...
The air was now feeling different around the forest the more the boy walked in the direction where the voice was calling him…The magic was in the air as if he was in a fairytale... A fairytale of love…
Then while walking, Storm noticed some flowers on the ground. He saw violets. He saw more on the path ahead as if it was a marked path with these flowers as a guide to his destination alongside the sweet voice calling him. Also, he could see in the corner of his eyes some flower petals flying on a soft and cool breeze; he could recognize the petals as rose petals. The Jedi saw at the end of a path a light that he assumed to be an exit; as the voice kept calling him, Storm was falling more and more, and the enchantment of the heart melded the sound of the beautiful voice. He began to run toward the light at the end of the woods seeing that he could regain control of his movements, really wanting to get with the girl calling him, and then Storm entered the light…
Storm entered a clearing from within the forest; there was a clear view of the night sky with the moon and stars shining from above. Ahead of him, there were more violets on the ground, making a path that led to a flowery meadow full of them that was near a lake where the moon and stars' light was reflecting over the water, which was beautiful to see, however; what was having his complete attention at the moment, it wasn't anything to do with the beautiful environment...A bit far from him, he saw someone, and he knew right away there was a fair and lovely maiden, the one who was calling him; the boy only saw the silhouette of her, but something was telling him that this maiden was holding a great beauty that matched with the enchanting sound of her voice. Storm was just there standing without moving as if he was frozen as the heat from his face never left, he was so close to the fair maiden that was calling him, just several steps ahead, but his heart was racing extremely fast that being so close made him stand still. Still, a soft breeze brushed from behind, carrying some rose petals flying on the wind, and once the breeze brushed behind, the boy began to walk very slowly as if something pushed him.
With each step, he was coming closer to the maiden, having the thought that he would be the only person they were thinking of; he was only seeing the maiden sitting down beside the meadow of flowers looking at the lake, but then the young girl stood up which made the boy's heart beat extremely fast once again. However, he was still walking towards her, one step at a time, and she suddenly began to turn around slowly. Storm stopped in his tracks when he was close enough to see who it was as another soft breeze with violet petals respectively brushed… It was none other than Twilight, this took Storm by surprise, but he already knew it was her all along. The girl wore a sundress, it was purple with her royal crest symbol on her left side, and she was barefoot.
"Storm…" Twilight cooed with a lovely smile drawn on her face with her hands behind her back; her smile made Storm's face get redder, still surprised to see her in this mysterious place.
"Twilight? Wha-what are you doing here?" Storm asked her, still surprised to see her as the blush on his face remained.
"I'm just here appreciating the beauty of this forest," Twilight said to him, keeping the same expression with a delicate tone that could give anyone, including him, their total attention. "I'm glad you came."
"Huh? Oh right, you called me," Storm said feeling nervous as he rubbed the back of his head still blushed "But I don't even know what am I doing here, but I'm glad to see you, at least I'm not alone," He said to her with a smile.
"But I don't get why you called me Twilight," Storm said while walking near her.
"I knew you were here, and I also knew that you would come here with me; after all, we've always been together during the days we've spent together," Twilight said to him, keeping the smile with a blush on her face, hearing her say this made Storm blush once again.
"Heh y-yeah, you're right," He said with a timid smile looking in the other direction while rubbing the back of his neck.
Twilight once again sat down right in front of the flowers beside them.
"Please, Storm, sit with me. I would like you to watch this beautiful place with me," Twilight kindly said to him, keeping that smile that was captivating him.
"Um, sure," He responded to accepting her offer a bit more blushed, feeling nervous, but he was not showing it; for a strange reason, his heart was beating extremely fast with just being at her side, sitting right beside her.
There was undeniable magic in the air; one only has to look at this scene in this beautiful place. Storm was confused at what was going on, but he didn't mind it too much; in fact, he liked to be with Twilight; he couldn't stop looking at her, the princess was so beautiful, wearing that sundress that matched perfectly with her, and they had a charm that was attracting him, making him feel electricity within him as his heart kept beating fast and hard in his chest, the girl was looking forward toward the lake ahead of them always wearing that pretty smile on her face, the boy also knew how beautiful the place was, but that beauty wasn't matched for the beauty of the girl, Storm wasn't able to stop looking at Twilight, not that he wouldn't want to.
"Storm," Twilight said to him, turning her head to gaze at him, which surprised him a bit while the red on his face became more intense.
"Y-yeah?" He asked her, still very blushed, a bit nervous.
"Don't you think this place is beautiful?" Twilight said to him with that pretty smile drawn on her face with a sweet tone of voice which made him blush.
"Um, y-yeah, it is," Storm said to her, trying to hide his nervousness; his red face was showing, but he tried to calm down a bit. "The lake, the trees, the starry night, and this meadow of violets and roses. I've seen a lot of beautiful places around the galaxy, but this one place must be the most beautiful I've seen so far; it's so magical, I can feel it. It's like a dream." He said to Twilight in a reflexible tone of his voice, still having his cheeks red.
Looking around the clearing, the place was truly beautiful, the lake reflecting the precious night sky above, the meadow of flowers with the pretty flowers that were violets. In the background, it was noticeable baby breath flowers among the trees surrounding the clearing and some fireflies flying in the sky while another soft breeze brushed, taking with it some flower petals on the wind.
"Yes, I was thinking the same," Twilight said to him, keeping her smile blushing while grabbing a violet from the meadow and holding it with her two hands. "I'm happy you're here with me; you're the best friend I could wish for. I'm always happy when you're around me, especially now that we are in this beautiful and magical place," She said to him with a warm smile that was beautiful to see.
"Heh, thanks for saying that, Sparky. It means a lot to me," Storm said with a smile on his face, blushing while rubbing his cheek with his right finger timidly while Twilight put the violet she grabbed on the left side of her hair.
"You're welcome, Storm. You like the flower in my hair?" Twilight kindly asked him with a cute smile, which made the boy redder; she was already beautiful with a smile and eyes captivating him.
"Uh um y-yeah," He began feeling all nervous, his red face showing it while scratching the back of his head. "I-I mean uh…." Storm had never felt like this before; of course, he got nervous before, but not at this level. He couldn't talk well to her. Twilight looked at him with a confused face, not understanding what he was trying to say to her. "W-well, it's just, you were already pretty. I...I think you look very beautiful like that," The Jedi said to her, still with his face red, relaxing and saying what he was thinking of her. Saying that to her made Twilight a bit surprised and blushed, but then she smiled and giggled while playing with her hair.
"Thank you, you're really sweet," Twilight thanked him with a beautiful smile, still blushing, which made Storm smile timidly and still very blushed while rubbing his nose.
"No problem, Twily," Storm said to her, keeping his smile, looking at her smiling back at him. Something like this had never ever happened before to him. It was like a dream, a fantasy, or even a fairy tale with all the magic around the air; the warm feeling gave him great joy despite his shyness and nervousness and his heart beating fast in his chest. But then he remembered something. "Um, hey Twilight, I love spending time here with you at this beautiful place, and I'm not meant to bleed it up, but I'm still not getting what is going on or why we are here," He said to her with a concerned face as the heat of his face faded away but in response Twilight only chuckled still keeping her smile.
"Not anything needs a reason to happen, you know?" Twilight said to him again with that soft and enchanting tone, making Storm forget his worries and troubles as his face was red again. It was like her voice was enchanting him, relaxing him, and making him focus on the girl in front of him. "We don't need a reason to be here and enjoy our time together, and you don't need your special powers to be here with me…." She said with a warm and beautiful smile with a blush on her face to him, keeping the sweet tone of her voice as she put her left hand over his right hand. That took him by surprise as his blush got deeper, and then he just stared at her with his red and surprised face, still looking at him with that beautiful smile that he liked so much to see.
Storm felt paralyzed when Twilight put her hand over his. He felt chills all around his body as his heart beat extremely fast; he couldn't think, move, or even talk. He could only do nothing more than stare at Twilight, who was staring at him with that beautiful smile. Unable to speak, Twilight continued talking.
"During all this time, I was submerged in the shadows of the black clouds above me that were blocking the sun. I wasn't able to see the light, I thought I would be trapped in endless suffering in the darkness, but then you came in as a miracle in my life. You made me see the light; you cleared the clouds around me, brought the sun back to my world, put an end to my sorrow and suffering, and gave me happiness that I never felt like any other. I'll always be grateful to you and happy that you're in my life." She said, keeping the same enchanting tone in her voice and smiling as she brought her free hand to her chest. Storm was enchanted by this, not just by her beauty but also by her sincere gratitude. His hot face and sparkling eyes were showing it.
"Wow…" He had no words to express his feelings, but it was a warm feeling inside himself. "I...uh, I dunno what to say, Twilight, but it means a lot to me that you're happy that I could help you," He began with a smile of his own, still blushed, feeling flattered by the sweet words of Twilight. "I had to; as I said, I wasn't gonna sit around and let you fade away, 'cause even if I didn't know you, I cared for you" He continued feeling no longer shy or nervous; he was now talking with his heart to her, Twilight then was surprised by his words and then she once again smiled blushed.
"That's one of the things I liked the most about you," She said, keeping the same expression that surprised him. "The way that you are, how selfless you can be when it comes to others, always being there for others when they need you the most, that's one of the most wonderful things about you, Storm, your caring and devoted your heart is for others," She said with a warm smile to him still blushed while grabbing Storm's hand. He once again felt touched by her words; no one had said such things about him.
"You...really think that about me?" Storm asked her feeling the heat on his face.
"Of course I do. You've become the person most special to me; I would never lie to you. I know you have a duty to fulfill, but I don't care about it. I want you in my life; I can't imagine it without you." She said with that sweet smile that Storm likes; he was surprised at what Twilight thought of him. "Please, Storm, promise me that you'll at least stay by my side when this war is over. You never break your promises, right?"
"Right. Don't worry, Sparky, I promise you I'll come back," Storm assured her with a smile. "And...I can't imagine my life without you either," He said, blushing at her; hearing that from him made her giggle and blush.
Then, a breeze brushed behind them, with several flower petals flying past them, making the already magical scenario even more magical. Also, it grew even more flowers around them slowly but surely. Soon Twilight threw her arms at the boy, and he caught her before they tumbled to the ground. The teens rolled around in the meadow of the flowers as they continued to hold each other. They soon came to a stop as Twilight lay directly on top of Storm, the pair looking into each other eyes. The girl held her smile as she rubbed her nose with her partner. Storm got a hold of Twilight's waist as he sat up with her directly in his lap.
The princess had her arms around his neck while Storm held her waist. Soon his hands traveled down to her rear as he got a firm grip on it, which seemed to excite the girl even more. The pair had their eyes dead set on each other, their lips mere inches away, feeling the hot breath of the other as Twilight's hand moved up and down the side of Storm's face, just wanting to grab them and hold him in place while she did what she wanted.
"You know, Storm, I was thinking about something for some time now," Twilight said to the boy keeping a smile on her face, still blushing at how very close they were.
"Um, what?" Storm asked her, confused about what she would want to say to him, even though he was still blushed as more flower petals were riding the soft breeze brushing behind them as if the petals came out of nowhere
"Even though we are from different worlds and might be different from each other, but…." She began as she brought her hands to his cheeks, rubbing his face and making him even redder than before, feeling the soft touch of her hand on his face "...Maybe, just maybe, we could be something more than just besties…." She said as she got closer to him, which he took completely by surprise. His widened eyes were showing it.
Then, petal flowers suddenly began to fall from the night sky as if rain was falling over them, and the blooming flowers growing around them began forming a heart shape. Things were now a magical moment that anyone would wish to last forever, like in any fairytale of love...Then the girl began to move her face closer.
"My prince…" Twilight said to Storm with a lovely tone as she got closer to him slowly.
"Princess..." responded the Jedi.
There was love in the air, nothing needed to be thought about anymore. There was just that magical moment; even Storm could no longer resist this; the girl closed her eyes and moved her face closer and closer to the boy. They were letting themselves be trapped by the moment as they let their eyes relax as the girl was about to give him a kiss that, in fact, they also wanted it... Suddenly turned all white…
Storm opened his eyes, seeing that he was again in his bunk and panting heavily. The sweat was on his forehead as if he had just run a marathon. He ran a hand through his hair as he let out a deep breath. He was confused about what had happened before he remembered.
W-what? That was...just a dream…?
He thought, seeing that everything that just happened was a dream. Then he sighed as he then felt confusion in his head once again. His feelings were now even more mixed than before; only a mist of confusion was on his head with no clear answer.
That was just a dream, but what does it mean? That I like Twilight? I do like her? Maybe or not? I'm so confused now, but dream or not, it felt real to me, and I was liking. Maybe I do like Twilight. She was about to kiss me, and I wanted it!
Confused filled Storm's head. He clutched his head as he could feel his mind going berserk; the boy then noticed the pendant on his nightstand as he grabbed it. Questions filled the boy's head as he grappled between these feelings and his duty as a Jedi. One that his heart could only answer, but only at the right time; right now, he just left that alone and gave his heart to find the answer as he let himself fall asleep again, holding the pendant that she gave him.
The boy just had the sweetest dream he could have in his life, but like whether there's light, there's also darkness. Where there are happy dreams, there would also be dark nightmares…
Twilight was sleeping tranquil and happy in her dreams; anyone can say their most beloved person is in them. Soon, that dream changed instantly, as if the darkness had formed around her head and altered her dream.
Twilight suddenly opened her eyes while lying on the ground, and then she got up from the ground; She wiped off the dust from their clothes and noticed that she was alone in a completely unknown place without a sign of anyone around while looking at the surrounding area she noticed that she was in a wasteland with rocky formations in the distance, the sky was completely cloudy and dark, by just standing there they began to feel anxious, scared and stir.
"Where...am I?" Twilight asked, looking around the empty desert, just seeing formations of rock in the distance with no sign of other people or civilization for miles and miles, just pure desert. She was completely alone and very scared…
"There's no one in sight or even a sign of civilization, just desert for miles and miles," Twilight said, seeing nothing but the desolated wasteland. "And I'm here...alone," She said, looking down, clenching her fists, and raising her face with a determined frown. "No… I won't give up just yet. There's gotta be a way back," She said determinedly in her voice, and then she began to walk forward, trying to find a way back home from wherever the desert was.
The girl was walking through the desolate wasteland, still not finding any sign of people or civilization, but she kept trying to avoid losing heart. She knew she would find a way back home sooner or later if she kept going. Even if she would have to walk miles, she still wasn't willing to give up. She then noticed something peculiar on a mountain in the distance; she saw a big hole in the hillside. Twilight was surprised by this since they knew there was no way it would come to be like that, something artificial would be what created that hole, but she shook off those thoughts of what would be and just kept going.
On her way back through the badlands, she saw something weird again. It was a crater ahead of her; the girl approached it to see it closer. It was peculiar and unusual that a crater was around a lonely place like this. Did a meteor fall from the sky or something? She was wondering that, but they could be distracted by this kind of stuff; the princess kept going, but it was then that they saw something that shocked her. She found more and more craters in the distance, cracks in the ground, and rocky formations torn apart. That was something kinda scary to see…
"Damages anywhere…" She said, looking in shock at her surroundings, seeing great damage to the wasteland. "What happened here? Was there some war here? This place sure looks like an aftermath of a great war." Twilight said while walking and looking at the damages of this scarred wasteland; she deduced that this place used to be a battlefield of war, but the question is...Who fought in this so-called war? And why? She couldn't help but wonder what events transpired here, now abandoned and lonely battleground. What kind of destructive and great war was waged here? But still, there was one thing clear, by only looking at this horrible scenario, she could feel the cold and empty sense of death in the air emanating from the ground…
The girl then continued hoping to find a way back, trying to not let the glooming place bring their wills down. However, there was still no luck finding any sign of an exit or anything that told her that she was on her way back. Just wasteland on and on with no end, apparently, but the princess didn't care; she would not give up just yet, even if she would have to walk for hours. The desert sure was huge, though. Then a burst of wind brushed in her direction, dragging the dust from the ground and creating small clouds of sand. The wind was strong, pushing the girl back, but she wasn't going to stop. Twilight raised her arms to cover herself from the sand. She continued walking but with difficulty trying to go against the wind's stream, trying to fight back being pushed by the strong wind trying to open her eyes to see where she was walking. Still, it was hard due to the sand being taken along the wind; it was then that the burst of wind and sand suddenly halted in a mere second, making her fall into the ground, raising a bit of dust from it.
"*Cough* Cough* Ou…" Twilight moaned hurtfully while getting up from the ground and wiping off the dust from her clothes.
The princess then looked ahead and saw a building. It appeared to be a hangar that confused the girl even more. As she began to head toward it, her surroundings changed from the desert to a lush green scenario. She came to the door and pushed the button on the wall. The door opened as it was a hangar filled with many fighters. The princess kept on walking, examining the place. Soon the sounds of blaster shots firing could be heard.
Twilight instinctively reached for her lightsaber but didn't turn it on just yet as she kept low to the ground and crouched. She hid behind one of the fighters as the doors opened. Walking out with their backs turned were some droids as they were firing at their target in front of them. Soon a yellow blade was shown as the person wielding it flipped through the air and landed before slashing them down.
"All clear!" said Storm.
"Move it, men!" shouted Shining Armor to some of the royal army members that followed.
Twilight was happy to see her brother and partner as she emerged from her hiding spot.
"Storm, Shining!" called out the girl to her.
"Twilight, glad you're safe," said the boy as he saw his partner who hugged him.
"Nice to see you made it, Twily. Come on! We got a mission to finish," said Shining Armor as they began to head toward the doors leading them inside the palace connected to the hangar.
"Mission?" said Twilight as she walked alongside her brother and partner.
"Remember, Sparky. The Separatists have taken over Canterlot. We need to get to the main palace. Your father and mother are leading the main force outside the city. Giving us the perfect distraction to take down Chrysalis, whose holed up inside." explained Storm.
"This way," said Shining Armor as they approached a door.
It was starting to open, but standing there was a figure. Their cloak was over their head, and their face was shown to be Sunset. The Sith girl smiled as she knew the Equis forces would be attempting to take this shortcut to the palace. Shining Armor and his men prepared their weapons as they were looking to battle the girl before Storm and Twilight emerged from behind them.
"We'll take care of this," stated the boy.
"Get going, brother," said Twilight as she and Storm stood side by side, ready to fight their rival.
"We'll take the long way around," stated Shining Armor as he led the rest of the men away, letting his sister and her partner deal with the Sith Lord.
For Sunset, she didn't mind, as she had gotten what she wanted. Her two rivals; ready to kill both of them. She took the hood off her cloak and itself as Storm and Twilight turned their lightsabers on and held them close to their bodies. Sunset pulled out her lightsaber and turned it on; in the background, some music began to play to accompany the fight that was about to take place. Red, purple, and yellow blades were about to clash.
Sunset began to spin and twirl to the two as Twilight jumped over her. She landed on the other side as Sunset blocked her initial attack before blocking Storm's attempt. The bacon-haired girl was between the two Jedi, fending them off and holding her ground easily. It was as if she was combating both using a double-bladed lightsaber to show how good she was at battling two opponents at once on both sides of her.
All three moved when they fought as Sunset was in command of the fight; she maneuvered herself to have both Jedi face her directly as they both came with a downward strike as she positioned her blade horizontally to block. Sunset did a jump and kicked Storm back while, at the same time, blocking Twilight's attack. The princes spun for another attack as Sunset twirled and did a standing spin to avoid it and get some feet between them.
The girl kept moving backward as she stuck her hand out to grab a piece of debris on the ground and fling it into the controls of the next room as the doors opened. Twilight began walking to her as they twirled their lightsabers in their hands before engaging. Soon Storm joined in as all three were locked in combat once more. Sunset was blocking and alternating from left to right, blocking both Jedi attacks. She extended her leg to kick Twilight away before turning to defend against Storm, who came with a backspin. They held for a bit before she spun out of the way of him attempting to slice her legs off.
Sunset assessed her situation and shifted how she held her lightsaber as only Storm was up to deal with her. The boy approached her and started swinging his lightsaber left to right as Luna taught him, with Sunset blocking and attempting her own; the pair made it through the hallway and into the next room, and by then, Twilight was back up and assisting her partner. The bacon-haired teen was blocking Twilight's latest attempt as she left herself open and allowed Storm to deliver a kick to her chest as she stumbled back.
Sunset was now on the edge of a platform as she looked back to see the big drop-down. She looked at the pair, who had expressions of determination while she growled, letting her anger fuel her power. Twilight made the first move as she bobbed her head out and reeled it back to serve as a fake out, hoping Sunset would react and allow Storm to get a hit in. Sunset knew that; instead of reacting, she backflipped a great distance just as Storm came in for a swing.
Sunset landed on a walkway above them as the Jedi chased after her. They jumped up and landed on the walkway as they went for a coordinated attack. Sunset positioned the tip of her lightsaber to block both as she laughed evilly. The Jedi pulled back for another one as, this time, Sunset ducked under to have their blades touch tips. They bounced off, and she began to launch alternating attacks quickly and extended her left leg to kick Twilight in the chest again and knock her away for a bit. Storm blocked Sunset's attack as he guided their blades to the floor and stepped over them, catching the girl with his other leg as he was coming back.
Sunset stumbled back as she grabbed her mouth, as Storm got her good. With Twilight, she was kicked by Sunset as she tumbled and went over the edge of the walkway and crashed into another one down below. However, she kept tumbling due to her momentum as she was about to go over again. The princess managed to grab onto the platform as it was a big drop. Her lightsaber was in front of her as she glanced back up at the walkway to see Storm and Sunset still fighting as they were moving down the path.
Twilight began to use her strength to pull herself up and hurry to help her friend. With the other two, Storm and Sunset continued their fight as the boy managed to hit her with the back of his elbow, as Sunset fumbled and fell off the walkway. She landed on a different platform back first as Storm jumped down. He went for a stab as Sunset blocked it and then extended her leg to catch the side of his head to make him stumble and allow her to get up.
The two began to fight once more as they went down the walkway. Twilight managed to pull herself up as she grabbed her lightsaber off the floor. She jogged to the edge to see where they were. The girl spotted them on their walkway, which was quite far from where she was. The princess took a deep breath before bending down and jumping with all she had. The teen made it as she saw Storm and Sunset getting close to the end of the walkway as there was a door open. Twilight began to hurry down to catch up as she turned on her lightsaber.
Storm and Sunset made it to the door as they continued to fight; behind them, the ray-shielded doors unlocked, allowing the girl to continue to move back while fighting. Twilight was shown in the background, trying to book it as fast as she could to give a hand to her partner. The two moved from their latest swing as the ray-shielded barriers returned online and separated the pair. The ones behind Storm also came online as they began to create separate gates. Twilight had just arrived at the entrance to all of them when she halted due to the ray shield coming back online.
"What are these?" asked Storm.
"Ray-shielded barriers. Maintenance Emergency Protocol!" shouted Twilight from all the way back. "They turn on and off every few moments!"
Sunset looked at the shields as she tested one out with her lightsaber. It merely bounced off and had no effect. True to what the princess said, they couldn't do anything. Simply wait for them to turn off before Storm can continue his fight with Sunset. Sunset turned off her lightsaber as she began to pace in front of her foe. Storm sighed as he leaned back against the wall with his arms crossed and put his head down. The Jedi was concentrating as the girl stared him down, ready to be released like a killer animal. Twilight was way in the back, as she could still see them.
All three teens did nothing. Each had a different expression on their face. Sunset was full of fury, waiting to kill her rivals. Storm had his head down and eyes closed while concentrating, and Twilight had a thinking expression as she was timing when the shields would be down and how long it would take her to reach her partner before they came up. She knew she could do it; she calculated them and knew how long she had.
Any second now. Any second now. Any... second... now...
Soon Twilight turned her lightsaber on as she sensed it. The first gate opened as Storm opened his eyes and lunged forward as Sunset blocked it. He entered the room with her as the other gates began to open, and Twilight took off. The princess saw her rival and partner in the huge room, and she was closing in. Just a little bit farther... just a little bit. The girl had her hand stuck out as if to reach for the boy.
Soon the gates came on, and Twilight put the brakes on; she almost slid into the shield when it came on to avoid being sliced. The girl was separated again as she could only watch what was in front of her. Storm and Sunset continued their fight as they were trading vicious attacks. Sunset could spin and position her lightsaber back as she held it above her head. Both spun as Storm came with an overhead strike; Sunset blocked it horizontally. She then guided them as it allowed her to quickly remove her lightsaber from his and hit him with the hilt of her blade. The boy stumbled for a moment as Sunset took that opportunity to pull her lightsaber back and thrust it forward.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" yelled Twilight as loud as she could.
The princess saw her partner being stabbed by Sunset. The bacon-haired girl pulled her lightsaber back as she smiled. Storm fell to his knees, and he looked forward a bit before falling to his side as there was a hole between his body where Sunset struck him.
Twilight's scream still echoed as Sunset turned to look at the princess with a maniacal and lunatic smile. The sith girl licked her lips as she took down her foe and enjoyed every second of killing him. Now she turned her attention to the princess as Twilight was still stunned to see Storm lying on the floor.
"Your boyfriend is no more, Twilight! Cause I just killed him!" laughed Sunset as an insane person as she loved making the princess suffer.
Twilight felt her fists starting to clench as an expression of rage and hatred for Sunset formed. She was going to kill Sunset; even if she begged for mercy, even if there was an ounce of redemption inside, she would not give it to her. Not after what she just did. She would kill Sunset in cold blood. The gates opened, and the princess came out swinging. Sunset felt the power and rage behind Twilight's attacks as she hit hard and pushed her back.
A sequence of moves followed.
Twilight blocked Sunset's swing before the sith turned counterclockwise as Twilight ducked to avoid her swing. Sunset came back around as Twilight aimed her lightsaber above her head to be positioned parallel to her back and blocked her attempt. Twilight quickly brought it forward to block Sunset swinging the other way. When they connected, Twilight put some strength behind her blade to push Sunset's down and angled it diagonally as she came round back in a half circle to attack high, which Sunset blocked. Both then predicted the other as Twilight went for a low attack on her legs. Sunset jumped and spun in place, bringing her lightsaber when she came back around, to which Twilight blocked diagonally, holding her lightsaber over her head.
Twilight then angled it diagonally down to block Sunset's attack; she quickly went for a head chop as the princess ducked. Twilight brought her blade up as Sunset blocked while her back was turned to her before spinning to face forward as Twilight blocked her attack. The princess and Sunset spun immediately after that to give themselves some feet between them. Sunset then spun and approached Twilight, who blocked her right first and left before jumping in place a second later to avoid Sunset's sneak attack. They traded more basic attacks before Twilight shifted how she held her lightsaber to hold it back and come up with a diagonal strike. It caught Sunset off guard as she pushed her lightsaber back, and Twilight kicked Sunset in the chest to knock her to the floor.
Twilight then leaped and twisted over Sunset as the girl used her lightsaber to protect herself while still on the floor. Twilight landed, and Sunset kipped up to avoid the princess going for a stab. Sunset ran a few meters, barely missing Twilight's attempt to slash her in the back as she turned to face the princess. They went at it again, left and right high attacks as Sunset spun and extended her leg to kick Twilight in the face. Twilight recovered as instead of falling to the floor, she used the momentum and shifted her body to land on her feet after being kicked by Sunset; she then leaned back to avoid Sunset's swing. Twilight spun to the side to block Sunset's attack and went for a low sweep with her lightsaber as Sunset did a parkour leap over her weapon to land safely and spin through.
Twilight brought her lightsaber down on Sunset's as their blades clashed and hummed. The princess staring into her rival's eyes, wanting revenge for what she did. Sunset pushed her back and stuck her hand out as Twilight felt herself being pushed by the Force. She rolled through and fell into the giant hole in the middle of the room. The princess was now dangling as her lightsaber was shown falling through the hole. Twilight tried to hold on, but she could feel her strength slipping; Sunset stood over her as she taunted at seeing Twilight so helpless and all alone.
The girl struck the edge with her lightsaber as sparks flew, trying to intimate Twilight. She was either gonna fall to her death or be struck down if she attempted to pull herself up. Twilight felt her fingers slipping, as she couldn't hold on.
Do you get it now?
An unknown voice spoke up with a dark and cold tone as the girl looked up at Sunset.
Without him, you are…
The voice said, keeping the same tone.
...In a pitch-black hell.
The voice concluded still with the same tone as the lightning followed by thunder occurred before Sunset thrust her lightsaber downward.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Twilight opened her eyes full of tears gasping completely in horror, then she sat down in her bed, seeing that she was back in her room. Everything that just happened was the worst nightmare she could ever have; she then turned towards Storm's hoodie, which was strung up on her coat rack. The princess was panting as her heart was beating extremely fast, she then got in a fetal position, but then she heard the sound of her door being knocked. She turned towards her door.
"C-come in," She said as she wiped her tears; the door opened, seeing it was her parents and older brother, and Cadance entered her room. All of them were wearing worried faces.
"Twily, are you okay?" Her brother asked her, worried about her as Cadance approached her and sat by her side, putting an arm around her.
"W-what's going on?" Twilight asked her family, confused.
"The guards heard some noises coming from your room. So they went to fetch us; Moondancer said that you were having a nightmare when she entered," said Night Light.
"Is everything okay, dear?" Twilight Velvet asked her daughter, worried for her, then Twilight looked down and started to cry again.
"No…" She began as the tears fell from her eyes, making her family more worried about her seeing her crying. "It was horrible."
"What happened?" Night Light asked his daughter, very worried for her as he and the rest of the family took a seat on Twilight's bed, getting close to her.
"I… I saw Storm dead…." She said to her family with her voice broken, still crying and looking down; hearing this shocked her family, mostly Velvet and Cadance.
"Are you sure about it?" Shining asked his sister, really worried for her, and in response, she nodded silently, making her parents look at each other with concern.
"Listen, Twilight, that was just a nightmare. It wasn't real," Cadance said, trying to comfort her.
"But it felt too real for me, seeing him gone… It crushed me inside," Twilight said as more and more tears began to fall from her eyes, still sounding broken. Seeing her like this made her family feel really bad.
"I get, sis. It's just you're afraid of losing him forever, right?" Shining said to her with a comforting tone in his voice.
"But I don't want to lose him!" Twilight said to her brother, expressing her fear for Storm, which made her brother's eyes widen a bit, but then he regained his composure.
"I know, but you gotta understand, it's his destiny, it's his war, and you know it," He began keeping the same tone as he put his hand over her shoulder. "We can't do anything but support him and be with him in spirit."
"But, it scares me to death just to think of it," Twilight said to her older brother while bringing her left hand to her chest.
"He's right, Twilight. Storm can't be taken down; if he falls, he will rise again. There's nothing that can't stop him." Cadance said with a frown, her sounding serious too.
"I know, but I'm still scared I would lose him. He means everything to me, more than my own life. I would feel empty and incomplete without him," Twilight said, looking at her hands and bringing them to her chest as she lowered her head.
Night Light sighed when he heard that. The King got up from the bed and began to head out of the room. After hearing their daughter's words, Velvet noticed her husband leave, and she sighed. It seemed she would need to get her husband to talk again to find out what his mind was going through. She then turned back to Twilight.
"We understand how much he means to you, but you can't hold him back, and you can't ask him to not go away because he would have to," Her mother said to her daughter in a compressive tone knowing how much was over Storm's shoulders and his duty as well as how special he is to Twilight.
"But still… I don't want him to go. I want to be by his side because I would feel alone without him," Twilight said to her brother, feeling the heartaches within her with her eyes still watery.
"And besides Twilight, you won't be alone even if he's not around. As he says, he'll always be with you when it matters the most, in your heart; as long as he's in there, you won't be alone. He'll be by your side no matter how distant you are from each other," Cadance said with a determined frown reminding her of Storm's words.
"I know… I know, but it's still not enough for me…." "She said with a sorrowful tone in her voice, "I want to see his smile… And hear his voice…." She said through the tears of sadness that fell from her eyes as she brought her hands to her chest and looked down again. Her family couldn't help but feel sad about her seeing her like this.
"It's alright dear, it's okay that you feel like that about Storm, but you have to accept it if you want to be at peace with it. That way, Storm will know that you are okay. It might be hard for him as well. That's why he wants to see you okay before going." Velvet said to her daughter, trying to console her.
"We'll be here to get you through this. After all, that's what family is for, right," Cadance said to her sister-in-law with a soft smile trying to make her feel better.
"Right," Twilight said to her sister-in-law, still with tears in her eyes but trying to get over it.
"Please, don't cry, sis. We don't want you to see you like this," Shining said to his sister with a consoling tone and a worried expression.
"A-alright," Twilight said as she wiped the tears from her eyes. "Thank you for coming," She thanked her family, glaring at them.
"You're welcome, and if you need something, we'll be here for you, okay?" Her mother said to her with a soft smile on his face.
"Okay," She said in response with a nod, and then her mother, Cadance, and brother left her room with soft smiles on their faces showing her their support, and they exited the room, closing her door and leaving her.
Twilight could only stare at Storm's hoodie and again got into a fetal position.
Morning came as the sun brought light to the entire planet of Equis. The home of Storm was shown as inside, the Jedi was awake. He'd been awake for quite some time. Since the dream he had last night, he's been stuck in his room, sitting on his bed, contemplating his feelings. And what Twilight did last night, kissing him. The teen sat on the edge of his bed with his eyes closed and his hands covering his mouth as he was lost in thought.
"I need to talk to her," stated the boy as he opened his eyes and got up.
The Jedi was preparing to head over to the castle to speak with Twilight and discuss where their relationship and partnership went from here after the events of last night. He was about to leave when he opened the door, and there stood Twilight, the princess having her hand up as if she was just about to knock.
"Twilight..."
"Storm..."
The girl was wearing her partner's hoodie as she also had a similar thought. She wanted to talk to him about last night and her nightmare. Seeing how she had to return his hoodie, it seemed like the perfect excuse to stop by. So she set off to Storm's home by herself; she arrived at the door and was about to knock when it opened, and there stood the boy himself.
Neither Jedi said anything after their initial response. They just stood there. The emotions of last night and their respective dream and nightmare came rushing to their head. The silence continued for quite a while as neither said nor did anything. Storm tried his best to figure out what to say but struggled. Soon he spoke.
"Um... you... you want to come in?" asked Storm.
"Y-yeah," answered the princess hesitantly.
The Jedi stepped to the side as he allowed Twilight to enter. He closed the door and leaned against it as he looked at the girl who stood before him.
"Um... I forgot to give you back your sweater," said Twilight to the boy as she was wearing it around her.
Storm eyed the girl as she stood there. He then got up from the door and approached her. Twilight saw Storm as he placed his hand on her shoulder before running his fingers up and touching her neck. She felt his touch and fell under his spell, letting Storm do what he wanted. The Jedi was now behind the girl as he wrapped his arms around her. As his hands came around to grab the sweater and take it off, one gently brushed up against the bottom of her breasts. A tingling sensation arched throughout her entire body, and a sharp gasp escaped involuntarily from her lips.
Soon Storm removed the sweater from the girl as he just dropped it on the floor before having his hands go back around Twilight. The princess guided one of his hands and planted it on her chest. The Jedi felt the squishy and soft round object in his hand; he squeezed it, and Twilight released a soothing sound. Enjoying what her partner was doing to her and giving her some pleasure. He then rotated his hand while grabbing the object, making the princess make more sounds.
The Jedi then turned her around in his arms to face her. He now moved one of his hands down Twilight's leg and grabbed her thigh as he lifted it up. The princess' brain was also on autopilot as she instinctively jumped and wrapped her legs around his waist as the boy held her. Her arms were around Storm's neck as he held her and walked over to the couch. Both kept their eyes on each other as Storm somehow managed to find the couch before he sat down with Twilight in his lap, her legs and arms still wrapped around him.
"Hey," said Storm.
"Hey," responded Twilight.
The two kept their eyes on each other as their faces were so close. Their lips eyed the other as they wanted to connect, the hot breath the other felt.
"Listen... Twilight... we need to talk," responded the boy in a serious tone.
"Right," said the girl as she pulled her head back to look at her partner.
"So... about last night?"
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry that you and I..." said Twilight.
"No, no. I mean, it was... fine. You know, me and you..." responded Storm.
"Y-Yeah, and then... me and you," responded the princess.
"Y-Yeah, we... um... we had..." Storm was also at a loss for words.
The teens struggled with what to say to each other about last night.
"Look... princess. I just want to know something. I..."
Storm didn't finish his sentence as Twilight made her move. The girl brought her face in and kissed his cheek like last night. She pulled back as the same shock on Storm's face the night before happened.
"Twi-"
Storm didn't get to finish his train of thought as Twilight went in for another kiss on his cheek. The girl was now pelting his face with kisses while holding onto the boy. The Jedi leaned back as the princess continued her onslaught of showing affection; she soon stopped kissing as she was now nuzzling her cheek with his as if they were animals.
"Twilight," said Storm as he got the girl to stop her nuzzling.
"Yes," said the girl as she pulled back to see her partner.
"Look... if we're gonna keep chugging along with our lives. I need an answer," stated the boy sternly. "What are we? Merely partners, best friends? Or something more than that? Something... more than just princess and Jedi Knight? What is this relationship between you and me? Answer me that, Sparky!"
Twilight sighed as he knew what her partner was saying. The girl looked away for a bit while holding his face. She then turned back before rubbing his cheeks with her fingers.
"Honestly... I'm not sure. But... there's one thing that I can confirm. And last night proved, especially, the nightmare that I had. Storm... no matter what happens from here on out, I know that I need you in my life. I can't imagine it without you. I need you in my life." said Twilight expressing her concern and want. "As far as this is concerned, well... I guess... we're best friends. Best friends who have a special way of showing how much we care about the other."
Twilight emphasized her point by planting another kiss on Storm's cheek.
"And if you want, maybe snuggle buddies," said the princess as she rubbed her cheek against his.
"Snuggle buddies?" responded the boy as Twilight continued to nuzzle him.
"You know, someone you're close with and whenever they're feeling down or just not in their usual happy mood. They can cuddle with someone and help make them feel better," said Twilight with a smile.
"Is that a real thing, or did you just make that up?" asked the boy.
"Maybe," replied Twilight as she retracted and looked at her partner.
"Okay then," said Storm.
"Know that this also works two ways," said Twilight as she turned her head away to expose her cheek to him. "Go ahead. I give you permission, my knight."
Storm took a deep breath as he registered what his partner said. She gave him permission as the princess and as a sign of consent. The boy cleared his mind as he knew their relationship had evolved again from this point on. The Jedi brought a hand up as he rubbed her cheek; Twilight felt his soft touch, and she enjoyed it. Storm then turned her head to have her look at him while holding her right cheek. The boy then moved in and planted a simple peck on the girl's cheek.
Author's Note: Well, it seems not everything is smooth sailing given what happened at the end of the last chapter. While one Jedi may have had something pleasant to enjoy, the other has had to suffer. Here's the thing though, between the two scenarios that both dreamof... only one of them will come true... potentially. The question is: Which one? And now we see where things go between the relationship of Storm and Twilight. As always, leave a review expressing your thoughts and comments.
