Chapter 1: Chaos

Izuku gazed sadly at the bowl of honey porridge in his hands. It was time for the Dream King's breakfast, and Izuku hoped the king could find the strength to eat today. He walked with the bowl through the palace, making his way to the Dream King's chambers. He worried about what he would see because the Dream King was growing progressively weaker every day.

Yagi Toshinori, known as All Might to the dream realm and King of Good Dreams to the humans, was lingering on the brink of death, soon to fade away. The King of Dreams and Dream Weavers maintained humans' good dreams in the dream realm, while the Dream Warriors protected those dreams from nightmares. But the world has drastically changed over the last two decades by humans destroying their own world with war, famine, disease, and hatred. The Earth was now a barren, dystopian wasteland where fear, darkness, and cruelty ruled as law. Then, the humans stopped having good dreams, and nightmares took over. The Nightmares were running rampant, with the humans growing fearful and losing hope. With each nightmare of the humans, Nightmareland grows stronger, and the Nightmare King is close to awakening from his crystal prison. If that happens, the entire world will be shrouded in never-ending fear and darkness, and the Dream World will vanish.

Izuku, like many of the other Dream Weavers, was growing weak, making conjuring good dreams harder to perform. The Nightmare Builders were stronger now, and their powers often canceled out those of the Dream Weavers. Izuku refused to give up, though, like so many other Dream Weavers. It's as if those Dream Weavers are asking to disappear; they're giving up. He knows the Dream World is concerned for the well-being of All Might, and they have yet to have a successor named. All Might will have to name one very soon. Izuku wondered who would be chosen.

He arrived at All Might's room and gently knocked on the door before opening it and stepping inside. It still hurt to look at the state of his Dream King and hero withering away in that big bed. It didn't get easier when Izuku looked at him. It was a constant reminder that his mentor, king, and father figure would soon be no more. Izuku fought back the tears that threatened to fall as he sat beside All Might. The once tall and powerful Dream King was now a skinny skeleton on a bed that he looked lost in. All Might didn't open his eyes right away when Izuku shook his shoulder. Finally, All Might opens his tired, heavy-lidded sunken eyes and manages a tiny smile.

"Young Izuku…good morning to you," his voice was strained and weak.

"Good morning, All Might. I brought you something to eat,"

All Might sighed. "I'm not hungry,"

"But you need to eat," Izuku said. "I had the chef put in extra honey, so it's nice and sweet. Please give it a try?" Izuku scooped some up on the spoon and held it to All Might's lips, but the Dream King wouldn't eat it.

"I don't have much longer in this world," All Might said, looking at the ceiling.

"Please, don't say things like that," Izuku said, unable to hold back a tear rolling down his cheek.

"It's time I picked a successor," All Might turns to look at Izuku. "And I've settled on you, Young Midoriya."

Izuku's wet eyes widened in disbelief. Was he to be the new King of Dreams? "But…but…All Might, I don't think I would be very good at it! Please, name another!"

"I wouldn't have picked you if I didn't think you'd be good at it," All Might said, straining to speak. "I know for a fact that I am giving this role over to the right person. You can bring smiles back to the people and give them hope to fight the darkness. This is a task I can only trust to you,"

Izuku put the bowl down on the side table and began to cry. He wasn't crying for his new role but for his mentor, who would leave him soon. All Might already had a document written up, and he told Izuku to sign it. After Izuku signed it, dripping tears on the black ink, All Might tried to sign next, but he couldn't hold the quill. He asked Izuku to help him, and Izuku sniffled as he helped guide All Might's hand to sign his name. It was official; he would wear the crown upon All Might's death.

"One more...thing," All Might reached out his skeletal hand, motioning for Izuku to take it in his own. Izuku did so, and All Might passed on his power to the other. For a moment, the pair glowed a golden yellow. It was a warm light, and Izuku felt it travel all along his body, entering his soul and his heart. "My power is yours now, Young Midoriya."

"T-thank you, All Might..." He didn't know what else to say.

Later that day, All Might died with Izuku by his side. Izuku cried on the empty bed where his mentor's body used to be before it faded away and disappeared into thousands of sparkling little stars. He didn't know how long he cried, but he managed to cry himself to sleep, mentally and emotionally exhausted. When he woke up, word of All Might's passing made its way through the realm, and outside the chamber window, he saw thousands of people in mourning, and they were waiting to see their new successor.

Izuku had his coronation ceremony the following day, though he felt no joy. They placed All Might's golden diadem upon his head, then gave him the dream scepter and golden sword. As the new King of Dreams, he is responsible for all the Dream Weavers and Dream Warriors in the realm. His prayers would help to keep the dream world alive, even though more and more of their people were dying. He couldn't pray for the people's safety, only the world they live in. No matter where he was, he could pray for the protection of this world and the humans' good dreams on Earth. If he were to die or give up, then the dream realm would collapse and disappear. Only a person chosen by the previous successor could be the King of Dreams, and they had to be pure in heart and mind. If any of these attributes failed, then their world could be damaged. If he loses all those things, their world will cease to exist, and humanity will never recover.

Izuku wasn't sure how long he would rule this realm because his own power had been fading. He might have to find a successor as well. He missed All Might terribly and wished that things on Earth would be different, or at least how they used to be before humans destroyed everything.

Izuku sat on the Dream throne where All Might had sat some time ago. He held the scepter in one hand and laid the golden sword beside him, leaning it on the arm of the throne. All the Dream Warriors arrived to praise their allegiance to him as the new King of Dreams. Izuku fought hard to keep from crying, both from the huge responsibility he now possessed and the death of his mentor. He wished All Might was still here with him to train him to be king.

The ceremony was a peaceful one until the Nightmare Warriors attacked.

Izuku was a Dream Weaver and a Dream Warrior, so he wielded the golden sword against the Nightmares. Dark Warriors came after him, but he cut them down with one or two swipes. However, the Nightmare Warriors just kept coming, and Izuku felt himself weakening. They wore heavy black or purple armor, riding in on flying beasts or on foot. Some were not even human-looking; they were monsters! Nightmare Nomus! Izuku recognized the monsters as the most common of bad dreams. They used to be small, but with the world in fear of the dark, they grew three times their size. Izuku struck some of the nomus down, but he rapidly lost his strength. There was so much darkness and fear in the air that it frightened even him. He had just lost his mentor and would now lose many of his fellow Dream Weavers and Warriors.

But Izuku wouldn't give up. He would keep fighting until he couldn't anymore.

'There has to be a leader somewhere. There should be a Warlord nearby!' Izuku thought to himself as he wove in and out of the battle, trying to find their leader. The Nightmares were everywhere! There were so many of them!

Then, he saw the leader- it had to be the leader because they were riding on a massive red dragon. Izuku watched as some of the winged Dream Warriors attempted to attack the leader. Other Dream Warriors rode their winged horses, only to be cut down with dragon fire. Izuku ran towards the leader, ready to fight, but slid to a stop before the dragon when he saw who the warlord was- it was none other than Katsuki Bakugo, the leader of all the Nightmare Warlords. Bakugo shouted orders to the Nightmares, pointing with his flaming sword, but he stopped when they locked eyes.

"Ha! There you are! The new King of Dreams!"

Izuku gritted his teeth and readied his sword. "Call your people off, and I won't hurt you!"

"You're dead, little dream boy! And it will be me, Warlord Bakugo, who will strike your ass down!"

Izuku took a step back when Bakugo landed in front of him. The warlord was dressed in no armor, and his muscular chest was bare with strange purple tattoos. His nails were black claws, his ears pointed, and his red horns were like that of a ram. His eyes went from red on white to completely red and glowed with a light that gave no light. Bakugo's wings resembled a bird, with the feathers sparkling a shiny deep purple. His hair was wild and pale yellow with a diadem of his own. He would be handsome if he weren't as frightening as a warlord.

But Izuku couldn't focus on the Nightmare's features; it was the flaming sword he had to pay attention to, and the Nightmare knew how to use it. Their blades clashed as they fought, with Bakugo swinging hard and fast. Izuku managed to block the blows, but he kept getting pushed back. Izuku needed to get Bakugo off his feet, so he quickly swiped his leg to knock him down. But Bakugo had seen it and jumped, using his wings to keep him afloat. Izuku couldn't fight him in the air like this, so he had to think of something else. He wasn't sure if he had the strength left, but he had to try. He called forth his own wings, pure white feathers, to Bakugo's deep purple ones. Izuku met Bakugo in the sky, and their battle continued.

"You're quite the fighter, little dream boy!" Bakugo mocked him. "But you're not worthy of being king!"

"Stop talking and keep fighting!" Izuku shouted back at him, clashing their swords again. The flaming sword made Izuku's forehead sweat, and he knew he was quickly losing energy. It was getting harder to hold back Bakugo's blows; the Nightmare just wouldn't let up! "Why are you attacking us?" Izuku demanded.

"Less talk and more fighting!" He repeated Izuku's previous words.

Izuku felt his grip on the sword weaken. Bakugo landed him a hard blow that pushed him back, but he stopped himself some yards away. They clashed in the middle, both blades pushing on one another. Izuku scowled at Bakugo through grit teeth, and Bakugo only grinned manically with fangs.

"Your world is fading!" Bakugo said. "But you get to be the new bride for the Nightmare King!"

'New bride? What is he talking about?' Izuku got knocked back because he got distracted. The blow was so fierce and hard that he fell out of the sky, landing hard on the ground. 'Damn it!' Then, Bakugo stood over him, flaming sword pointed and wearing a victorious grin.

"Got you!"

Bakugo kicked him in the head hard, and he blacked out.

Bakugo stared down at the fallen King of Dreams, then crouched to get a better look at him. He had never seen this man before, and he didn't look like much. But the late King of Dreams chose him for some reason. He knew the man's name, Izuku Midoriya, but that was all. His mission was to either kidnap the King of Dreams or make him surrender. Knocking him out counts as surrendering, and he can bring him back to Nightmareland. Since he got what he came for, Bakugo called off the attack. He got back on the dragon with his captive and flew out of the dream realm, heading back.

Once flying through the thunderous black clouds, he entered Nightmareland and flew toward the Nightmare Kings' castle. His homeworld was so much different from the Dream Realm. The sky was always a deep purple, the woods dark and gray, and the land barren of most flora and fauna. In the dream world, they had green grass, lush forests, clear streams, and the sun was always shining.

Bakugo always felt a little bitter about being born a Nightmare, and as a child, he wished he were a Dream Warrior, not a Nightmare Warlord. But he kept these thoughts and feelings to himself. His job was to give people nightmares, and ever since the human world fell into dark chaos, they've been stronger and busier than ever. But Bakugo did something different than his fellow Nightmares; he only gave bad dreams to evil people. He never wove a bad dream for an innocent person, nor did he attack children. It doesn't matter who he gives nightmares to, just that he meets his quota. A Nightmare can have a build-up of energy and explode if they don't cast enough nightmares. He would not be one of those lost souls.

He looked down at the still knocked-out King of Dreams. Izuku Midoriya's imprisonment would be harsh, and Bakugo wondered if the new king had the strength and pride to fight against his leader. Will the new king be defiant, or will he roll over and give in? Bakugo was certain he'd be defiant, judging by how he put up a fight. But there was something else about the new king that he couldn't put his finger on. He let his free hand rest on the man's head, feeling the silky softness of the green hair. While they were fighting, he noticed that Izuku had sparkles in his green eyes, and those eyes looked upon him with anger. It was strange how a pair of angry eyes could be attractive. Bakugo smirked at that. Too bad the new Dream King was destined to be married to the Nightmare King; he would have enjoyed the green-haired man in his bed.

Bakugo knew that a Dream King had to be pure in heart and mind, and they had to pray for the safety of the Dream Realm. So long as the Dream King kept the Dream World in his thoughts, the land would be safe. This also meant that Izuku Midoriya was an untouched, pure virgin who could never take a lover or marry, as it would distract him from keeping the dream realm alive. And he was a Dream Weaver and Warrior. How delicious it would be to have Izuku Midoriya beneath him, begging for more, with a heated flush, tears of pleasure, and glaring green eyes full of desire. He envisioned those long, strong, and pale limbs wrapping around him as he thrust harder and faster.

He had to stop thinking about that because it was giving him an erection. 'But, damn it, he's not mine to have!'

He left the dragon with others of its kind and flew with Izuku the rest of the way. Castle Nightmare was the tallest structure in the kingdom, made of stone and numerous black spires that gave the appearance of stalactites. An endless number of nomus and gargoyles constantly circle the castle. From a distance, they all look like massive bats.

Bakugo entered through one of the many entryways and walked the rest of the way to the throne room with Izuku Midoriya in his arms. The Dream King didn't feel heavy in his arms and was still knocked out cold. Bakugo paused to gaze at the man, noticing the freckles on a soft face. He had missed those before. Izuku only wore a pure white tunic robe with gold bangles on his wrists and biceps. Around his neck was a gold choker with an image of a sun. Izuku's body was muscular but still softer and slightly smaller than his. It could be due to the weakening of the Dream Realm.

"Warlord Bakugo, you've returned," it was one of the many goblin servants. "Master Tomura is waiting for you,"

"Yeah, yeah, I know! I just got back! Give me a damn minute!"

Tomura wasn't HIS master; he was his OWN master. Bakugo only answered to Tomura because he had to if he wanted to continue being a warlord. Tomura is the Nightmare Regent, ruling over Nightmareland while the Nightmare King is still asleep, trapped in a dark purple stone and put there by the late Dream King. But the magic barrier on the stone was slowly starting to crack, with more and more humans fearing the dark and suffering from constant nightmares. Soon, that purple stone will break, the Nightmare King will return, and Izuku Midoriya will be his 'bride.' It would be a royal marriage, and the Nightmare King will rule this realm and the Dream Realm. It was a perfect plan.

Yet Bakugo didn't know how he felt about it. What else would they have to do with the Dream Realm under Nightmare control? With the Dream Realm existing, they could keep on fighting for power. But when the Nightmares take over, there would be no more fighting, only Nightmare building. Bakugo liked to fight and win, but sometimes, winning too much could be a bad thing. Should he be outed as a traitor or a Dream World sympathizer, he kept this tidbit to himself.

He pushed those thoughts away as he entered Tomura's throne room. Bakugo often wondered how great it would be if HE were the Nightmare Regent, not Tomura. He disliked the man immensely, constantly feeling angry whenever he saw Tomura Shigaraki, with dull, cracking skin and ashy blue hair.

"I see you've brought him," said Tomura. "Was it difficult?"

"Not for me," Bakugo answered, laying Izuku on the black stone floor. "This is the new King of Dreams, Izuku Midoriya, All Might's successor."

"He is only a child," Tomura added.

"He's no older than I am," Bakugo countered. "So, I brought him here; where's my payment for a job well done?" He hated when Tomura grinned, the pale chapped lips cracking as he smiled.

"Your payment will be sent to your room," Tomura told him, then he summoned a black rope and tossed it to Bakugo. "Bind him for now. I'm sure that when he wakes up, he'll try to attack."

Bakugo caught the rope and tied Izuku's hand behind his back. He heard Izuku make a slight sound, like a moan, and then he twitched.

"I think he's waking up," Tomura said.

Izuku felt himself come to with a terrible pain in his head and behind his eyes. He writhed on the cold floor a bit, trying to get up, but found his hands were bound. The memory of his fight with Bakugo returned to him, and he tried to get up but fell. Now, he was fully awake, knowing his hands were behind his back and he was on the floor. Izuku looked up at the looming Nightmare Warlord, Katsuki Bakugo, who was glaring down at him. Izuku managed to sit up on his knees, and his head moved all around, taking in the darkness of the area. He wasn't in the Dream Realm any longer; this was Nightmareland. He knew it, for he could feel his spirit slowly draining him from all the darkness around him. Then, he saw someone sitting on a black spire throne, and his eyes widened; it was the Nightmare Regent, Tomura Shigaraki. All Might often spoke of him as possibly becoming the new Nightmare King, but he didn't know for sure.

It was rumored that Tomura had once been a child born to the Dream Realm but somehow ended up here instead. The Nightmare Regent holds a terrible power, the power of decay, and can destroy anything he touches with five fingers. His skin was a pale, ashen gray with rough, flaky skin. His eyes were a harsh red, and his hair a shaggy pale blue. He wore a long black robe that gathered in length at his feet. His wings were those of a dragon or a bat, and a pair of curved black horns stuck out from his forehead. Like Bakugo, his hands had claws, and those hands would destroy before they would scratch.

"Welcome to Nightmareland, Izuku Midoriya," Tomura said to him in a raspy voice. "It's too soon for you to meet your future husband, but it won't be much longer,"

"Why are you doing this?" Izuku demanded. "Why does the Nightmare King want me?" He was kicked by Bakugo's booted foot.

"No one gave you permission to talk, Deku!"

"D-Deku?" Izuku looked at him, then turned his attention back to Tomura. "I refuse to be his bride! I won't even be his lover!"

Tomura threaded his clawed fingers with a look of amusement on his face. "You don't have a choice in the matter," he started. "The Dream Realm is slowly fading as humans become more frightened and evil. The Earth is filled with beautiful, delicious chaos," he closed his eyes momentarily, relishing those words. "With the Dream Realm gone, the Nightmares can take over, and the world will be shrouded in complete darkness and chaos. It's what humans deserve,"

"That's not your choice to make!" Izuku shouted and was kicked by Bakugo again.

"You can fight all you want, but it won't do you any good," Tomura said with another amused smile. "You don't have to make this difficult for yourself," Tomura stared back at the young Dream King and noticed how green and sparkly Izuku's eyes were; they were like emeralds with starlight in them. He stopped talking to stare at him.

"Hey, itchy!" Bakugo snapped his fingers to get Tomura's attention. "What the hell are you staring at?"

"...take him to the guest chambers and post some nomus outside his door," Tomura said. "He is still a king, and the future bride of our Master, so we should treat him as…kindly as possible."

"Got it," Bakugo picked Izuku up by his bound hands, forcing him to walk.

Izuku was too exhausted to fight back and felt sick to his stomach as he was forcefully guided through the dark halls. Bakugo didn't say a word the entire way to the chamber, and when they got there, Izuku was pushed inside. He stumbled over himself and fell onto the cold, hard floor.

"This will be your room," Bakugo said. "You'll get three meals a day, and you can continue to pray for the Dream Realm."

"Villain! I won't let you or your masters destroy the world!" He got up on his feet to face Bakugo, gritting his teeth. "I'll find a way out of here, and then I will see to it that Nightmare King never breaks free! And if he does, I'll stop him with everything I've got!"

"Pfft. You talk a lot for someone who is a prisoner," Bakugo smirked. "You just became a king, and now you're a prisoner. Your luck sucks, and you've failed the Dream Realm."

Izuku lowered his head and eyes; he had let them all down. He let himself get captured! He hadn't even been king for more than two days, and already he failed.

"Enjoy your new prison, Dream Boy!" Bakugo said with a triumphant smirk and untied him, but he had to dodge Deku's sudden, quick attack. "Ha! Do you still want to go, weakling? Then come at me!" He beckoned Deku to attack him, and the Dream King did.

Izuku threw punch after punch at Bakugo, but the Nightmare kept blocking each one and never stopped grinning. It was getting on Izuku's nerves, and he was getting angry.

Deku was fighting with such fervor now that Bakugo wished he had fought this way back in the realm. This was much more fun! Bakugo spread his wings and started to flap them quickly, causing a heavy wind to keep pushing Deku back. He liked watching the man struggle, both physically and mentally. He could see tears of frustration in those emerald-green eyes. He then put his wings away and charged at Deku, who didn't have enough time to move out of the way. Bakugo grabbed the weaver by his throat and pushed him up against the wall. Deku kicked at him, but Bakguo pushed himself between the man's legs, spreading his thighs. Deku stopped struggling and gasped. Bakugo smirked, for he could feel the heat on his groin coming from the other. He had Deku completely motionless, and the green eyes were in shock. Bakugo bet that Deku never even pleasured himself. If only he could have the emerald-eyed Dream King, but he figured he could have a LITTLE bit of fun. After all, Deku was blushing pink, and Bakugo felt the push of the other's semi-hard erection.

"Don't Dream Kings have to be pure in body?" Bakugo leaned his face towards Deku's ear, nipping at the lobe and flicking out his tongue to lick it with just the tip. He felt Deku shudder against him. "Is this one of your hidden fantasies, Dream Boy? Do you secretly dream of being pushed down and fucked by a Nightmare, your enemy?" Bakugo loved the hard look of fury on Deku's embarrassed face. He removed his hand from the king's neck. "Too bad you're meant for the Nightmare King because I would grant you your wish if it were up to me. See ya later, Dream Boy."

Izuku watched Bakugo leave the room and heard the door lock from the outside. He rushed to the door anyway, tugging and turning the handle only to find that it was indeed locked. The room had no windows, either. Izuku set about checking the spacious room for any hidden doors that he could use as a possible escape. Regrettably, he found nothing. He was completely trapped in the enemy's castle.

Izuku looked around the room that was now his prison. He had a four-post bed with dark purple silk sheets and a matching canopy. There was a water closet nearby, which also had no windows. There was a small round table and chair, and a fireplace that burned with black fire, giving him enough light to see and stay warm. This room also had a bookshelf with three shelves full of books; at least he would have something to do to pass the time. But first, he has to think of a way out of here.

'I'm supposed to be married to the Nightmare King…but he is still trapped in the crystal." All Might had locked away the Nightmare King centuries ago when the world was still filled with light and love. The Nightmare King will soon be free to run amuck in the post-apocalyptic human world of chaos. 'There has to be a way out of here. I can't marry the Nightmare King,'

Then, he thought back to Bakugo and the strange feeling that came over him when they were pressed together. He flushed darkly at the memory, remembering how warm Bakugo was 'down there' and how it felt on his own. And that lick of his earlobe had him shudder with what could only be pleasure because he didn't hate it. He wasn't sure what had come over him, but he shouldn't be feeling desire for a Nightmare Warlord. Izuku slapped his hands to his face. What was he going to do?
