The Helicopter landed upon the pad, which in turn sat upon the aft deck of the luxurious liner, its rotors slowing ceasing their cyclic movement before the door to the flying vehicle swung open. From within emerged a young man with deeply tanned olive skin clad in a white shirt and suit with black tie. His eyes scanned the dimly lit flight deck as a woman with skin similar to his in a maritime uniform saluted him. He saluted back before another passenger, another young woman though this one wore a grey suit stop with a matching skirt that reached to her knees, disembarked the vehicle and handed him a briefcase. The young man accepted it before walking past the saluting woman, who fell in behind him with his fellow passenger, and entered the main structure of the liner.
He passed through a set of narrow hallways until he reached his personal cabin. He reached for the handle to the doorway…and then paused as his skin tingled in an all-too-familiar fashion. He looked to his right, to the two women who followed him, giving a silent nod. They saluted back before turning to leave. As soon as they had moved exactly five paces away, the young man turned the handle and stepped into the cabin.
The otherwise luxurious suite was dark, the lights switched off. They looked ahead to the far end of a large, ornately carved, table or more specifically to the figure seated at the opposite end of it. Tragedio sat there, calmly, silently, his eyes fixing upon the young owner of this cabin.
"…You've kept me waiting," Tragedio coldly stated.
The other man shrugged, seating himself across from Tragedio and placing his briefcase onto the table. "Unlike you, I still exist as something other than a Shadow Rider," he retorted, chuckling a little as he heard Tragedio quietly growl in reply, "It cannot be helped that the world still expects Abdullah Dospharos to play the part of the wealthy heir to an Oil Tycoon." He grinned. "Of course…soon enough they shall learn my true identity as Abidos III." Abidos's grin widened. "So what was so important you had to meet me here, of all places?"
"…The Dark Scorpions has failed us."
Abidos titlted his head. "A surprise, to be sure," he replied, "…but it is of no concern." Abidos locked gazes with Tragedio, an unseen contest of wills raging between them. "For either of us is more than capable of breaking the seals on the Sacred Beasts ourselves, no?"
Tragediop chuckled. "You're right about that, at least," Tragedio stated, "Luckily, the previous Riders weren't completely useless." Tragedio held up his left hand, a strange, golden glow surrounding it. "The energy harvested by the Shadow Charms is almost enough to break the seals." He lowered his hand as the glow vanished. "Just a few more duels should do it."
Abidos chuckled. "Only a few more?" he questioned, laughing, "And here I was, almost hoping that you were going to tell me that we still had a long path ahead of us." He looked at his briefcase. "I would've relished the chance to claim many prizes…"
"You can take whatever else you want from that island," Tragedio shot in, "But when the beasts are unsealed-"
"I'll let you challenge me for them!" Abidos rebutted. Tragedio shot to his feet at this remark, Abidos following, his briefcase flying open in an instant as once more their wills contended with each other. Abidos reached for the contents of his briefcase. "…do you regret telling me of my past life then, Dog of Kagemaru?"
Tragedio grinned, sitting back down and chuckling, clearly amused with something. "…I have a few loose ends I need to wrap up on Academy island," Tragedio stated, "Feel free to try and claim the Beasts, if you wish…but, if you try to stop me from taking them, I will cast you into a darkness so deep even you won't be able to return from it."
Abidos's grin did not subside in the slightest as he seated himself again, his eyes not shifting from the ornate, golden headdress, adorned with the carving of an eye, that rested within the top half of the briefcase. "…We shall see…"
Judai struggled to keep his eyes open as he sat through the history lecture, Asuka looking at him with a note of concern in her eyes while Sho couldn't take his eyes off of Midori Hibiki, the history teacher speaking at length about the lineage of the great Pharaoh Isaad and their conquests. The Slifer Ace wasn't one for the academic side of his studies…and it had come to show more and more as the year went on. He wasn't failing in any subject…but he was far from excelling at anything beyond duelling. Asuka, however, didn't hold that against him. It turned out to be part of his charm. Of course there was at least one, more personal, subject he could improve at…
"Judai-kun", snapped the voice of Ms Hibiki, her hand slamming down on the desk in front of Judai the Slifer Ace almost leaping out of his seat, "Perhaps you'd like to explain the innovations made to the Shadow Games during the reign of Pharaoh Isaad?" Midori smiled, half warmly, half menacingly towards Judai, "Or perhaps you'd like me to explain it to you after class, since you seem set on catching up on your sleeping?"
Judai winced, his mind at work as he tried to recall everything he'd vaguely heard. "Was it…the concept of Antes?" He meekly replied.
Midori narrowed her eyes. "…you got lucky," she whispered, before stepping back to address the rest of the class, "Yuki-kun is correct; the biggest innovation Isaad brought to the Shadow Games is what granted him the title of Conqueror; he introduced the idea that one wagers more than just their life in a Shadow Game, though such practices did still occur." Midori paused. "Land, Treasure…even Slaves could be won or lost in these contests." The class began to murmur, all of them turning to the name of one man; Seto Kaiba. Midori sighed. "…of course, the concept was also revived twice by Seto Kaiba. The first, and most well-known, was during the Battle City Tournament, wherein participants had to wager their rarest card. When we refer to Ante Dueling, it is to this rule that we refer…however, such duels are illegal nowadays."
I bet so are Shadow Duels but my friends and I have had to risk our lives in them already. "The other such instance of a Major Ante was also issued by Seto Kaiba in his final match against the King of Games, Yugi Muto," Midori continued, "Wherein the competitors of his exhibition event wagered pieces of the Millennium Puzzle…in Kaiba's bid to revive a long dead Pharaoh."
Laughter erupted from the direction of Torimaki and a number of other Obelisk Blue Students. "That was just a Fairy Story that Kaiba made up to explain how Yugi beat him all the time." Torimaki's laughter was interrupted by a piece of chalk flying into his forehead.
"…given how Mr Kaiba has been missing for years now since that event and its aftermath," Midori rebutted, "I wouldn't be unreasonable to assume that there was some truth to his tale." Torimaki glared at Midori, though the teacher quickly awed him into submission with a cold glare of her own. He then sat silently in his chair, his peers snickering around him.
Midori satisfied, resumed her lecture, Judai now listening more intently lest his forehead suffer the wrath of the History teacher and her chalk projectiles…until suddenly Asuka's Duel Pad buzzed, distracting Judai. The brunette blushed, opening up a message…it was from Momoe who had skipped out on the history class. Her eyes quickly scanned the contents of the message…before widening in alarm at the Photo of Momoe standing with…
Asuka sighed as she shook her head, watching as Momoe took a selfie of herself and the affluent Abdullah Dospharos. Not that the wealthy prince among men seemed to mind, given that he'd seemingly agreed to smile for the camera and even had an arm around Momoe's shoulders. Asuka's eyes scanned the procession and staff that had made their way off the boat with their employer and her opinion of him sank lower; all of them were women, all of them were young women. It seemed that he was just another affluent young playboy…who'd likely be leaving with more women than he arrived with.
"See something you like?" cooed a voice to Asuka's left, the blonde looking to see Junko standing there, her right hand held in front of her mouth to conceal a mixture of a snicker and a mocking grin. Asuka struggled to contain the urge to growl. "So your replacement for Kaiser loses a single match and you're already shopping for some new hotness?" Junko chuckled. "I feel sorry for your boyfriend…"
"Boyfriend? Judai's not my-" Asuka shot back before stopping.
Junko's eyes narrowed as her grin spread wider. "Now that is interesting," she cooed before focusing her attention on Abdullah, "But, hard as it might be to believe, I didn't come here just to make fun of you." Asuka blinked, before slowly unclenching her fist…a little shocked that she'd made it in the first place. Asuka looked away from Junko and back towards the Ship and the Crew. "…You're here for the same reason as me, right?"
"That depends," Asuka answered, "What are you doing here?"
Junko's expression shifted to a cold, serious visage. "To try and figure out whether there's a Shadow Rider on that boat." Junko gasped. "Think about it; every time our island has had visitors, there's been a Shadow Rider among them," Junko continued, "So why would this time be any different?"
Asuka thought for a moment. "Yeah, you have a point," she replied, her eyes scanning the deck of the ship…before she fixed on a figure different from the others; a young man in a black coat, their face concealed by a mask. Asuka squinted, trying to focus on them…something about them felt…familiar to her. She was distracted, however, by Junko tapping on her shoulder and pointing towards Abdullah…the young man leading Momoe away towards the Academy building. "…this is oddly caring of you, Junko," Asuka noted, "Why the sudden change?"
Junko looked down. "…when I heard you guys were battling the Shadow Riders, I guess I learned something," Junko replied, "I realized…that we students have a duty to protect our alma matter Duel Academy." Asuka blinked, shocked…before smiling and nodding in approval. Junko smiled too before patting Asuka on the shoulder and walking off to shadow Abdullah. Asuka looked back to the ship…finding the figure missing. She looked around, wondering where they had gone, a feeling in her gut pulling her towards the forest. She turned to walk towards the Abandoned Dorm…only to stop as Professor Banner silently stood in her way.
"P-Professor…"
Banner sighed, looking at Asuka with a solemn expression that seemed unknown to the normally cheerful instructor. "…My dear, there are some things you'd be better off avoiding," Banner calmly stated. Asuka looked up into his narrow eyes, confused…and now getting a little outraged. She first thought to try and move around Banner…but then decided against it. She sighed, stepping back and looking towards the Blue Boys Dorm…
Judai sat across the table from Misawa, the Slifer and the Ra Student flicking through piles of cards as a small Laptop aided the illumination of the Slifer Dining Hall. Chumley sat on the table nearby, scrawling onto his sketch pad as he occasionally looked up in contemplation. All the while Sho sat across from Chumley, alternating between watching these two activities and catching up on his own studies. Deck building had been something Misaws had always been passionate about, but this had been the first time Sho had heard of Misawa involving anyone else in the process.
Judai handed Misawa a card and the Ra Ace examined it before checking the computer screen. He then nodded it and placed it into the growing pile that was the formation of his latest, and potentially greatest, deck yet. And so they continued for several more moments until the pile of cards had reached the size of a 40-card deck. Misawa picked it up and studied it, seemingly evaluating it as a connoisseur would a piece of meat.
"Well…how'd we do?" Judai asked.
Misawa smiled, nodding with approval. "Because there are a few less-than-ideal cards," he replied, "I'd say it's about 90% complete…but that still makes it the strongest deck I've got." He quickly slid it into a box and looked back to Judai. "Thanks for helping me out with this," he continued, "It's refreshing to have a second take on my card selection. A fresh perspective, as it were."
Judai grinned. "Well…if you want another perspective…how about a du-" He was interrupted as a bright flash of light illuminated the room, momentarily blinding all the occupants. As they blinked, their vision slowly returned. "What was that?" Judai's PDA began to buzz as he answered it to find it was Chazz calling him.
"Judai did you see that flash just now?" Chazz questioned.
Judai nodded. "Yeah, I did," Judai answered, "Did the Lighthouse explode or something?"
Chazz shook his head. "No…but it did come from the pier," he replied, "I'm about to head over there-"
"No," Judai barked, interupting Chazz, "You should stay put. I'll check it out."
Judai puffed and panted as he neared the pier, the forms of Asuka, Chazz and Ryo drawing closer with each step as Misawa, Sho and even Chumley followed him. . There was another figure with the blue students; Chronos de Medici the Teacher standing between the students and there was a trio of masked figures, dressed in what appeared to be Egyptian Robes and brandishing golden spears. Chazz looked over his shoulder, smirking as he saw Jaden's group arrive.
"Oh look, the cavalry's arrived," Chazz noted, his tone clearly sarcastic. Asuka now also looked over her shoulder for a moment, before her eyes began to scan for someone else. Chronos also looked over his shoulder towards Judai's group, his eyes widening in horror. He then spun around, holding his arms out to the sides.
"No, stay back!" He called, "This is clearly the work of a Shadow Rider!"
A guard grabbed hold of Chronos's arm. "Silence!" they barked, their voice feminine despite the mask, "The Pharaoh wishes to take on all challengers. You will not interfere."
Chronos threw off the guard, however, narrowing his eyes. "Then I will face your so-called Pharaoh," Chronos declared, "I will not allow any harm to befall my students." The guard chuckled in response to this, Judai furrowing his brow in concern.
"You don't have the key anymore but if you want to duel then its this way", the guard reminded the pair standing aside in unison and gesturing down the pier. A path was formed between two lines of guards that lead to the boarding ramp of a vessel familiar to Asuka; Abdullah's Cruise Liner. The group were led up onto the ship and then along the port side decks until they reached the spacious forward deck…to find Abdullah sitting on what appeared to be a white Marble Throne, though gone was his suited attire in favour of ceremonial, royal robes and a golden headpiece, akin to a crown, adorned with a golden eye carving familiar to the students. And lounging to the side of his throne, atop a large couch of pillows was…
"Momoe!" Asuka called out, but the young student didn't respond. Asuka gasped, looking at her friend's frame; she, too, had changed outfits. Gone was her blue girls uniform in favour of a golden bra, bracelets and belt, a blue, near translucent sash descending from the belt to cover her womanhood, a similarly coloured veil covering the bottom half of Momoe's face. Asuka looked in horror, however, at Momoe's eyes; they were dull, empty and distant. The blonde looked around the boat, finding several stone obelisks…and upon the face of one was what appeared to be a carving of Momoe, in her uniform, seemingly screaming in terror, trapped in stone. "You bastard, what did you do to her?!"
The young man, seated upon his throne, chuckled. "I offered her the chance for fame and riches, of course," he casually replied, "But, alas, she was not up to the task of defeating and I claimed her body and soul as my prize." He gestured to Momoe "Isn't she lovely? As beautiful as any concubine I had during my previous reign…"
"Previous reign?" Chazz questioned.
The robed man grinned. "That is correct. I once ruled over Egypt as it's Pharaoh…and now I have returned to claim this world anew," he declared, "For I am not simply Abdullah Dospharos…but the Pharaoh Abidos III!" The crowd gasped…but Chronos more than the others. "Now then...which of you shall be my next challenger?"
Asuka furrowed her brow, beginning to step forward. "I am your opponent," the blonde declared, pulling out her deck before placing a device onto her wrist and sliding the deck into it, triggering a holographic display to appear in front of the Obelisk that resembled a Duel Disk. Abidos nodded, stepping down from his throne to what appeared to be some kind of altar, with carvings resembling the positions for an Industrial Illusions Duel Arena. He clapped his hand, the door to the main structure of the boat opening…
…and from within stepped Junko clad similarly to Momoe, her eyes equally as vacant, the orange-haired student holding what looked like a velvet pillow upon which a deck sat. Without a word, she walked past her fellow students towards Abidos, offering him the pillow. The Pharaoh took the deck from Junko and placed it upon the altar, exactly as one would an Arena. Asuka's eyes scanned the pillars and, true to her suspicion, she noticed a carving upon one obelisk face that resembled Junko, the orange-haired student seemingly trying to break free but unable to.
"As you may have guessed, this shall be a Shadow Game," Abidos stated, "And the stakes are that if I win I get to claim your body and soul to do with as a I please." As if to reinforced this point, Junko took a lounging position upon the opposite side of Abidos's throne from Momoe. "And for one such as you, I suspect sharing the same fate as these students would be quite fitting."
"…how?" Asuka questioned, interrupting Abidos, "How did Junko…"
Abidos chuckled. "Because I am the Undefeated Abidos…and she was foolish enough to challenge me." Asuka growled, recalling her earlier conversation with Junko, She must have known Abdullah…no, Abidos was a Shadow Rider and tried to protect everyone.
"Well…do you still wish to challenge me?"
Asuka nodded. "I will accept the terms on your Shadow Game," she replied, "Provided you agree to release everyone you have enslaved if I am victorious!" Abidos nodded his consent, drawing five cards from his deck as the dark fog of the Shadows rolled in. Five holographic cards appeared in Asuka's hand as the student stared down the Pharaoh, her LP counter resetting to 4000.
"Let's Duel!"
Turn 1 Abidos
"The first move is mine! Abidos " Abidos stated, "First I shall activate the effect of my Nauya, the Ogdoadic Remnant!" Abidos showed the card to Asuka before placing it on a space above his deck. "By sending this card to the graveyard, I can send a Light Attribute Reptile monster from my deck to the graveyard." Abidos picked up his deck and then slid one card out of it before placing it above his discarded Nauya and then shuffling his deck. "Then I shall set this monster and place another card face down." The images of two face down cards, one laid horizontally and the other vertically, appeared before Abidos. "And thus I conclude my turn."
Turn 2 Asuka
Asuka ooked at her hand again. Unless I get a good draw this turn, the only card I can play is Cyber Tutu. But after that, I'm defenseless. Asuka drew her next card before eyeing it off. Perfect! "I'll start off with the Spell Card Angel with Blue Tears!"
A moon hung over the field, it's blue light drowning out the golden light of Valhalla.
"Now I target your monsters on the graveyard and negate its effects this turn…and as a bonus that card's controller takes 200 points of damage for each card in their hand." Asuka gestured towards the field. "I pick your Nauya, the Ogdoadic Remnant!" It's effects are negated and, since you have one card in your hand, you take 200 points of damage." Abidos looked down for a moment before a stream of blue particles surrounded him as they rose up into the skies, his LP dropping to 3800. "And now, since your Nauya's effects are negated, I'm free to use this; Machine Angel Ritual!" The symbol of a golden gear appeared on the ground in front of Asuka. "I can now Ritual Summon a Cyber Angel monster from my hand as long as I tribute monsters with levels that equal or exceed my angels."
Asuka slid two more cards free from her hand. "So I tribute my Cyber Angel Idaten…to Ritual Summon Cyber Angel Benten!"
A stream of golden light flew town into the gear symbol which began to spin until a pillar of light rose up to reveal a woman in a Pink and Red Bodysuit which long black hair tied into a thick ponytail, a golden, horn-like crown atop her head and a pair of metal fans in her hands (ATK 1800).
"And because I used Cyber Angel Idaten as a tribute, all my Ritual Monsters gain a 1000 point boost!" A golden aura surrounded Benten as she readied herself to leap into action (ATK 1800 - 2800). "Next I'll equip her with my Angel Blades Spell Card!" Asuka added, sliding her next card into the Duel Disk, "This will raise my Cyber Angel Benten's attack points by 500!" Bentens fans were replaced by a pair of elegant curved sabers (ATK 2800 - 3300). "And, finally, I now summon my old friend Cyber Tutu!" A young girl in a Pink-Maroon Body Suit with a small tutu around her waist (ATK 1000).
"Battle!" Asuka declared, "Cyber Angel Benten attacks you directly" Benten leaped forward, twin blades raised as she spun through the air and with twin, precise slices cleaved through, Abidos smiled softly as his LP slid to 3300.
Abidos chuckled. "Impressive move young lady, I now activate the effect of Zohah, the Ogdoadic Boundless." Asuka groaned, sweat forming on her brow as Benten returned in front of her. "When Zohah is sent from the field to the graveyard, you get to draw a card…but then I can add any Ogdoadic monster from my deck to my hand." Asuka nodded drawing her next card while Abidos searched through his deck, picked one card out and then shuffled the rest. "Now we must both send one card from our hands to the graveyard." Abidos didn't hesitate to immediately discard the monster he had just selected…but then gasped as Asuka didn't hesitate to discard the card he'd drawn.
"Well, my Angel Blades have an effect too," Asuka eclared as the Benten's lost sabers bust apart into clouds of gold dust, "When they're destroyed, I'm allow to draw another card too." Asuka slid another card from her deck. "And I'm not done attacking you just yet. Cyber Tutu's effect lets her attack you directly as long as all your monsters have more attack points than her." Cyber Tutu leaped into the air over Abidos before standing in front of him, performing a pirouette and striking Abidos, across the face with swift kick, the Pharoh recoiling a little before brushing his lip with the backside of his hand, his LP dropping to 2300. Asuka looked at her hand. "I'll set these two cards face down and pass it back to you." Two set cards appeared behind Cyber Tutu. So far so good.
Turn 3 Abidos
"…and thus I shall active my Trap Card, Monster Rebirth!" Abidos declared, his set card flipping face-up, "Since a monster was destroyed by battle this turn, I can send a Monster Reborn from my deck to the graveyard to revive any monster in either of our graveyards." Once more Abidos picked through his deck before revealing the Monster Reborn spell card to Asuka and placing into his graveyard pile.
"Now then…arise, Ogdoabyss, the Ogdoadic Overlord!" A black pool of water spread across the field and from it arose a massive, winged black serpent with ornate golden armor plating (ATK 3100). Heat halted his attack before landing in front of Asuka,.
Abidos slid a card from his disk, I draw." He drew his next card, his hand shaking a little, a smile forming on his face. This sensation…it's just like back then. "Let's begin; first I'm going to activate the effect of Ogdoabyss; I can send all monsters on the field to the graveyard…" He grinned, narrowing his eyes, "…with the exception of those that have been summoned from the graveyard."
Sho's eyes widened. "So that means he'll wipe out Asuka's monsters and still have his Ogdoabyss!" Ogdoabyss roared as black, snake-shaped, tendrils rose up from the black pool of water, seizing at Heat and Burstinatrix, dragging them beneath the surface.
"And now I shall call forth a new monster; Flogos, The Ogdoadic Boundless!" Abidos declared, placing another card upon his altar. From the black pool arose a new beast; a large black, humanoid lizard clad in golden armor, brandishing a pair of khopesh (ATK 1800). "And now, it's time to finish you off. I attack with…"
"I activate my trap card, Attack and Receive!" One of Asuka's set card flipped up, "Since I just took damage, you now have to take 700 points of damage!" A stream of red dust shot form from the card, striking Abidos as his LP slid to 1600. Abidos rubbed his mouth again, as though to wipe about blood from his mouth. He licked his lips for a moment which unsettled Asuka.
"…Flogos, The Ogdoadic Boundless attacks you directly!" The spear-wielding angel flew forwards, striking Asuka with a precise and powerful thrust that struck Alexis in the midriff. She recoiled, clutching her stomach and falling to one knee as her LP dropped to 1500 "You look like you're in pain, Young Lady," Abidos mockingly comforted, "So I'll set this card face down and end my turn." Another set card appeared behind Abidos' monster.
Turn 4 Asuka
Asuka stood up, panting as she collected her thoughts. I can turn this around…but I need to deal with that Flogos, The Ogdoadic Boundless. "I draw," Asuka declared, drawing her next card, "I activate Pot of Greed to draw two more cards." Asuka slid two more cards from her deck. Raigeki and Monster Reborn. I can use Raigeki to destroy her monsters and then use Monster Reborn to revive Benten. And once Benten is revived, I'll have two options; attack her or wait. If I attack him I might be able to finish him off. But his set card could be trap that could destroy Benten or even finish me off instead. But if I wait and Abidos summons another monster, my Metalmorph trap will power up Benten. Asuks softly smiled. "I activate Raigeki!" Asuka declared, sliding the card into her Duel Disk, "With this I can destroy all monsters you have on the field!" A large bolt of lightning struck Abidos' field, consuming both his angelic monsters and reducing them to ash.
"Well good to know that I have the perfect counter for this! I activate my Ritual Spell, Machine Absolute Angel Ritual!" A pillar appeared behind Asuka she took 2 cards from her graveyard. "I can shuffle Warrior monsters from my graveyard that equal to the amount of Levels I need for my Ritual summon, and luckily I have 2 of them! I shuffle Blade Skater and Etoile Cyber!" Etoile Cyber and Blade Skater appeared behind Asuka as they were sucked in by the piller. Asuka then began to chant "A body of a being that warrior who can control its wrath and conquer it with her own strength is formed! I Ritual Summon! Show your Light, Cyber Angel Tsukuyomi!" From the pillar appeared her Ace monster. The moon warrior wielding her sword, Kusanagi, in her hands with her white skin and hair, tight yellow suit and red gauntlets.
Most of the students took a step back as they saw her new ace monster.
"So, that's her ace," Ryo may be the best duelist on the Island, but that doesn't mean he wasn't impressed with her skills and her monsters.
"That's right and this duel is about to be finished." stated Chazz .
"Impressive monster, but tell me. How is that gonna win you the duel?" asked Abidos as Asuka replied with a smirk.
"Oh, that's easy for me to answer. I will activate Tsukuyomi's effect which allows me to destroy your spell and trap card on your field, and if she does, you lose half of his attack points." she said as Abidos lowered his duel disk.
"Oh…I guess this is the end, huh?" asked Abidos with a smile.
Asuka returned the favour, "It is and I have to admit, it was a fun duel."
"Really?" She nodded, "That's good. I guess you're w challenge I have been waiting to face for ages Young Lady, now bring it on!"
Asuka grinned, "I couldn't have said it better! Cyber Angel Tsukuyomi attack him directly!" Tsukuyomi raised her sword and from it, shot a beam of light directly at the AncientcRuoer.
Abidos groaned as he picked himself up from the ground, the obelisks around the deck of his ship glowing as the souls of Momoe and Junko were released and sought out their bodies, awareness dawning in their eyes. Asuka walked over the deck towards Abidos, the Pharaoh looking at him in admiration.
"A fine battle, Asuka!" Abidos remarked, his breathing steadying, "…This has been an…enlightening experience for me. I'm still not a match for the Supreme King either…" Abidos narrowed his gaze. "…and I'm likely not a match for the darkness that is already on the island."
"What are you talking about?" Asuka questioned.
"…The Seventh and Eight Shadow Riders are already on Academy Island," Abidos answered, "And, though it pains me to admit it, I must confess tmtge seventh is by far the deadliest."
"How so?" Ryo questioned, stepping forward, a small smile on his face, "Just how deadly would you say this seventh rider is?"
Abidos sighed, looking down. "…I'd say he's deadlier than all the riders that preceded him combined."
Ryo's smile widened slightly, his expression remaining otherwise steely. Judai's heartbeat refused to slow down at the prospect of an even greater challenge yet to face him…before he began to laugh as Junko and Momoe went from odd surprise to confusion and finally to rage, the pair of girls grabbing Abidos and pulling him towards his throne…their fists following to his face a second later…
Pharaoh mewed loudly as Banner shooed the cat out his window, the rotund animal reluctantly taking off into the night before the teacher sighed, sitting back down in his chair. He rubbed his temples, brushing the sweat off his face as he steeled himself for what he knew was coming.
"It seems the time has come for me to make amends for the events of three years prior," he mused, before looking over his shoulder towards his doorway, gazing directly on the form of Tragedio who posses the body of one of his student standing there, the student's Duel Disk activated, his deck ready and his first five cards drawn, "…Though I would ask you stay your hand, Tragedio or should I say Tenjoin Fubuki"
Fubuki's red eyes mask pierced Banner to the core, the teacher shuddering before his gaze. "… That guy is dead but Tragedio still exist! I'm afraid staying my hand is out of the question, Professor Banner," Tragediocoldly shot back, "…or perhaps I should call you…Amnael?"
And for the first time in three years, Banner's eyes widened in alarm…
