The Hegemony forces were momentarily stunned by the plane that just slammed into their fortress. Maria and Kiku jumped out, with the creepy blond girl who summoned the power of Gaea earlier.
"The jig is up, bitches!" yelled Maria.
Khione scoffed at the new arrival. "Who is THIS bitch?"
"The name's Maria de la Cruz. Y'all kidnapped my father. Prepare to die"
Maria and Kiku made short work of the first few waves of monsters. With a slash of his katana, Kiku freed Alfred from his bonds. Alfred quickly joined the fight, shooting down a couple of empousai right before pistol-whipping some angry snowmen.
Khione and Iran joined the fight, the latter angry after finding out Israel was but a projection and was never really there,"
"Curse that slut! Now, forces of the Hegemony, attack!"
Kiku lunged at Iran, who countered with his own sword, awash in fire. Khione joined the fight but was intercepted by Maria, who proceeded to smack her upside the head. Khione retaliated with a blast of icy wind, from which Maria cartwheeled to the side to dodge.
For a brief moment, Alfred thought they were winning. It didn't last.
Kiku was knocked aside by a bolt of magical energy. Maria got caught up in a mini blizzard and was thrown to the wall like a rag doll.
"Welp," scoffed Canada. "I guess the jig really is up. For you"
They were lined up and held tightly against their backs by the snowmen, Khione holding an icy dagger at Maria's neck.
"Any last words, foolish Polisaiads?"
Maria spat at Khione. "Yeah. NOW, COURTNEY!"
It was the most awesome moment in Alfred's life, even more so than Independence Day, crossing the Delaware, the Alamogordo detonation, D-Day, watching Lady Gaga twirl in the air at her concert, or even the day he met Tony. The entire eastern section of the cavern collapsed, and in the gleaming dawn light, stood Nico d'Angelo.
"That's it?" scoffed Iran. "One Hot Topic employee is your backup?!"
As if in response, the Hadean raised his sword, and all around him, portals of shadow opened up all over the landscape. From one of these portals stepped out the Madrigal family, all fired up and ready for battle.
From another portal leapt out Prince and Lady, pulling a war chariot that carried Almanzo Wilder and Laura Ingalls into battle. Several lost souls of Americans who had wandered back into the land of the living followed in their wake. Alfred saw one particular young man and his heart stopped.
From another portal emerged the Total Drama campers, angry at having been interrupted from their taping. Harold pulled out a pair of nunchuks menacingly.
Yet another spat out the Saint Helena community, led by France himself. Finally, the largest two portals spat out two whole legions of demigods, one Greek and one Roman. Leading the Roman legion was a young woman astride a black horse.
The Greek faction was led by a young man with sea-green eyes.
"I think I've seen this film before," said Khione. "And I didn't like the ending…"
Alfred squealed. "Well, come on, Avengers, let's get sickening!"
Courtney grinned contentedly at her PDA once all the forces were accounted for. "Is that all?" she asked Nico.
"You wanted MORE?" gasped Nico, at his limit with all the portals opened up.
The hastily-formed armada slammed into the Hegemony Forces. Luisa Madrigal threw a boulder, downing several flying monsters. The Total Drama campers stampeded into the fray, crushing all opposition. Almanzo Wilder shot bullet after bullet at the monsters while Laura guided the horses into running over the ones her husband didn't hit. The demigods utterly crushed the monster phalanxes they collided with.
Alfred found himself back-to-back with Percy Jackson as they got cornered by a denser crowd of enemies.
"I guess now it's OUR fight," said the demigod.
"Sorry I couldn't tell you on the bus. Got a bad case of amnesia,"
"I feel that, bro"
Kiku rode with Hazel atop Arion, the speed of their strikes cutting down countless enemies. Maria had teamed up with Isabella to conjure a powerful springtide wind that weakened Khione enough to let Pepa wrestle control of the weather away from the goddess.
The Hegemony was panicking now. Khione had fled with the Boreads and Iran was barely holding his own, dueling Hazel, Dawn and Bruno all at once. A wave of magic sent the three flying. "Demigods and syndrigasts pale next to the power of my magicks!"
Canada yelled. "ENOUGH!" The spell that was harvesting England and Spain's life force kicked into overdrive. A wave of primal energy swept into the battlefield, knocking everyone on their feet.
"A pity you all came only to witness your inevitable demise at the hands of the Hegemony! Now, the giants will rise and the West shall topple!"
Maria and Kiku desperately ran for the cage, but winds and blades did not shatter it. Arthur, now feeble and frail, whispered. "Remember the prophecy…"
Sun and Stars shall shatter our sleep.
"Maria," said Kiku. "I finally understand what needs to be done…"
