Here's the first chapter for Kaijudo. It will tie in with my stories of Slugterra, Storm Hawks, Hot Wheels Battle Force 10, Max Steel and Dragon Booster.
Chapter 1: The Naturals Pt. 1
A late night in city of San Campion. A young couple was out on an evening stroll through the park. Suddenly, a portal breached open behind them, causing a gust of wind to blow through them. They turn to see a creature called a Rumbling Terrasaur charging towards them. The couple rushed back to their car, but they couldn't open it. The Terrasaur bashed into the car, sending it into a tree. The Terrasaur turned its attention back to the couple as they continued running. "Hey, Rumbling Terrasaur!" A voice called. The Terrasaur turned to the right and saw a man standing in the fog. He was a hooded Mexican man wearing a red gauntlet on his hand, named Hector Chavez. The Terrasaur charged towards Hector. But Hector blocked the creature's attack with an energy shield from his gauntlet, pushing the Terrasaur back. Just then, another creature, called Gillaflame the Assaulter, appeared behind Hector with incredible speed. The Terrasaur prepared itself, knowing the power this creature possesses. "Herd him back home, Gillaflame!" Hector ordered, controlling his creature with his gauntlet. Gillaflame used his incredible speed and dragged his blades across the street, creating a fire wall, scaring the Terrasaur back into the park. Gillaflame then started punching and slashing at the Terrasaur, pushing it back through the breach.
Hector walked up to the breach as Gillaflame took a knee. Hector started moving his hands and the breach sealed up. He brought out his phone and called someone. "It's Chavez. Another creature got through. But I returned it and sealed the breach." He reported. "Nicely done, Hector." A woman's voice, with a Russian accent, said through the phone. "But these incidents are growing more frequent." Hector said. "Understood. We'll have to look into why these incidents are happening. But I'll need to check in with an old friend first. I'll see you when you get back, Hector." The woman said. "Okay. See you back at the temple." Hector said before hanging up. He unzipped his coat, brought out a bag of bacon, took one out and fed it to Gillaflame. "Well done. Hasta luego." He said before moving his hands and making Gillaflame disappear. His gauntlet transformed into a fingerless glove before taking it off. As he started to leave himself, someone walked out and stared after him as he disappeared into the fog, wearing a gauntlet made from technology.
Meanwhile, 2 young children, Raiden Pierce-Okamoto, Ray for short, and his twin sister, Jennifer Pierce-Okamoto, Jen for short, Japanese-American born 14-year-olds, were up drawing in their shared sketchpad in front of their grandfather, Raiden Okamoto Sr., who was doing some origami.
Ray had black hair with red highlights. He wore a red vest hoodie over a green shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
Jen had chestnut brown hair with magenta highlights, done in a ponytail. She wore a blue vest over a white sweater, black pants and white shoes.
The twins were both wearing pendants around their necks. Their American mother, Janet Pierce-Okamoto, walked out. "Almost bedtime." She said before she noticed her children's drawings. "Ooh, what're we drawing tonight, Mr. and Mrs. Talent? Oh, Ray, Jen, scary monsters. Again." "Can't really think of anything else to draw, Mom." Ray said. "Yeah. We don't know why, but these creatures just come to our minds." Jen said. "Well, what about superheroes? Or what about those…Change-O-Bot things?" Janet asked. "Change-O-Bots, Mom?" Ray asked. "Yeah, while we think those are cool ideas, it's just not our thing." Jen said. "Jen's right. Not our style." Ray said. "What about a video game? Looks nice and violent." Janet said, holding up 2 video games. Ray and Jen laughed lovingly at their mother's attempts.
Just then, Grandpa Raiden tapped the table with his knuckles, getting their attention. "A crane and a turtle both come from an egg, but only one will fly." He said. Janet understood what he meant, knowing that her children were destined for greater things. But Ray and Jen didn't understand. They just kept staring at their pendants. "Okay, Raiden and Jennifer Pierce-Okamoto, floss, brush, bed." Janet instructed. "Yes, Mom." Jen said as she and Ray put the finishing touches on their drawing. "Just need to figure out what to call you. Roaring…Rumbling…something." Ray said, trying to think of a name. "Terra. It's gotta have 'Terra' in it somewhere." Jen said. "Good thinking, Jen." Ray said. Grandpa Raiden placed an origami of their drawing in front of them. "Hey, it looks just like our drawing." Ray said. "This egg will hatch when it's ready. But not unless it gets enough sleep." Grandpa Raiden said. "Yes, Ojīchan." Ray said as he and Jen stood up. "Goodnight, Grandpa." Jen said. As they walked to their shared room, they stopped in front of a picture and bowed to it. Janet looked on sadly. The picture was of her and her supposedly late husband, Ken Takahashi Okamoto. "Goodnight, Dad." Ray said as he rubbed the picture. "We miss you every day, Dad." Jen said. And with that goodnight, the twins walked off to prepare for bed.
As soon as they were gone, Janet got a call on her phone. "Hello? There was another breach? Hector already dealt with it? I understand. Ray and Jen just drew the same thing tonight. The ancient Queen did say that Ray and Jen will be destined for greatness. I just hope that when the time comes, they'll be ready when their…destiny awakens." She said as she looked at her children's drawing. It was a Rumbling Terrasaur, like the one that was just in the park.
(Intro)
The next morning, Janet and Grandpa Raiden were driving Ray and Jen to school after they missed the school bus. "We're really sorry, Mom." Ray said. "I'm not upset, but you kids have been missing the bus a lot lately. Is there something wrong? Do you wanna talk about it?" Janet asked. "Well, there is this one problem we've been having at school." Jen said. "It is bullies again, yes?" Grandpa Raiden asked. "Is that true?" Janet asked. "Yeah. Carny and Candy Carnahan, and their cronies, Sykes, Nickels and Icey. They've been all over us and our friends since Day 1." Ray said sadly. "They've been throwing terrible racial slurs at our entire family, calling us abominations from the old war." Jen said. "They even said something about you, Mom. But I'd rather not say." Ray said. "I understand." Janet said, knowing the problems her family have had with racism since she married Ken. "Your father used to avoid as well. Doesn't work. You must stand up for yourselves." Grandpa Raiden said. "Tell them how, Raiden-san." Janet said. "Trick is don't get hit. Got to bob and weave. Jab-jab! Bob and weave. Hard to hit moving target." Grandpa Raiden explained. Ray and Jen looked at each other. They had taken self-defense classes since they were 10, but they chose to never use their skills unless absolutely necessary.
"So, I'll pick you and your friends up at the alley tonight, and then we'll unpack a few more boxes and get settled in. I know things have been tough." Janet said. "Tough on you too since Dad disappeared." Ray said. "Yeah. Especially since we didn't know him very much." Jen said. "But everything's gonna be fine." Janet assured as they pulled up to San Campion Middle School. "Have a great day." "You too, Mom." Jen said as she and Ray got out of the car. Ray just stayed silent, pulling up his hood. Jen put a comforting arm around her brother as they walked towards the school. Janet and Grandpa Raiden watched as the twins entered the school before driving on their way. "Do you believe that their powers may awaken someday?" Grandpa Raiden asked. "I don't know. But I do hope that when they do awaken, there will be a way they can use them to help them." Janet said. As they stopped at a red light, she took out a similar fingerless glove and stared at it.
Later, during lunch at the school, Allison Underhill, Allie for short, was greeting her fellow students. She had long blonde hair and wore a periwinkle tank-top, a purple scarf, maroon sleeves, dark purple pants and maroon shoes. "Dudes. Yo-yo. Rock on." She said. "Hey." 2 girls, Maribel and Portia, greeted. "Allison, you going over to the leper table again?" Portia guessed. "You're welcome too." Allie offered. Portia and Maribel looked at each other. "What the heck." Maribel said. The 2 girls joined Allie as she headed over to join their friends. Allie kept her gaze on Ray. She had been friends with Ray and Jen since their childhood. When they were 11, Ray and Allie started developing feelings for each other, but they were too shy to even tell each other and wanted to tell each other at a special moment.
Ray, Jen, and their 3 other best friends, Gabriel Wallace, Gabe for short, who's a complete know-it-all, Terrence Henderson, Terry for short, a kind-hearted bad boy with neck-length black hair, and his black stepsister Gretchen, Greta for short, who had her pink highlighted bangs covering her left eye, were studying a spider that was resting on its web on their table. Gabe wore a blue sweater, black shorts and yellow slip-on shoes. Terry wore a grey leather jacket over a with tank-top, blue jeans and white shoes. Greta wore maroon short-sleeved jacket over a pink t-shirt, shredded blue jeans and pink shoes.
"You can tell it's an Uloboridae from the perfect spiral." Gabe said. "Always the master, Gabe." Terry said. "That web must've taken hours to spin." Ray said as he inspected the web with his pendant. "Actually, looks about to have been made…at least 2 hours and 23 minutes since this morning." Jen deduced as she did the same with her pendant. Suddenly, Terry saw something. "Ray, look out!" He exclaimed. Ray quickly moved as he was nearly rammed into by his bully, Carny Carnahan, along with his sister Candy, and their cronies, Sykes, Nickels and Icey. "Ew, what is that? A spider? Not for long." Carny said as he prepared to stomp the spider. "Stop!" Ray exclaimed. "Buzz off, mixed-race freak." Candy insulted. Allie stepped in Carny's way. "Dude, that's an innocent creature. It has a right to live." She said. "Back off, Smellison." Carny demanded. Ray clutched his fist, hating how Carny was talking to Allie.
As Carny was about to crush the spider, Allie snatched it and took off with Portia and Maribel. Carny shoved Ray aside before going after them. Candy shoved Jen into Terry and Greta before following her brother. "I'm getting sick of this." Ray said in annoyance. "Me too." Jen said. "Don't worry, little guy. I got you." Allie said. "I hope that thing's not venomous." Portia said. But then, Carny and Candy got right in front of them. "What're you doing? It's just a dumb bug, and you hoes are dumb to help it." Carny said. "Yeah. I bet if it bites you, you'll even look like a leper." Candy said as everyone regrouped. "Not my problem. And FYI, everyone's watching you be mean to me." Allie said. Carny and Candy looked around. Everyone was watching the whole scene. "And to be fair, this typical breed of spider isn't harmful to most people. And incidentally, without spiders, insects would overrun the world. But you wouldn't know about that, Ignoramus Maximus." Gabe said. Terry and Greta chuckled at that insult. "That's it. You're about to go mute, smart tub." Carny said. "Leave him alone, Carny." Ray said. "Yeah." Jen said. "Or what? You half-Japanese half-white trash gonna half-ninja me? What, you 2 share half a blackbelt?" Carny asked. "I wouldn't be surprised if they both use only 1 chopstick each." Candy said. Sykes, Nickels and Icey laughed at this. "You think we're ashamed of who we are? We're proud of where we come from." Ray said. "Yeah. Even without a father, we still have a loving family." Jen said. "Unlike you 2, living with a parent as heartless as yours." Greta said. "Nice one, Greta." Allie said. "Yeah." Portia and Maribel said simultaneously.
Just then, Candy got up in Greta's face. "You got something to say, nigger?!" She exclaimed. Everyone gasped at what she said. Even the teachers who had just come out, were shocked. "Now that was uncalled for!" Maribel exclaimed. "Yeah? What're you gonna do about it, senorita?" Carny asked mockingly. "Alright. Why don't you scum pick on someone your own size?" Terry asked angrily. "Like you, nigger lover?" Candy asked. "Wow. Using that word twice in one day? There's something wrong with you guys." Jen said. "Yeah. We all thought you guys were just losers. But you're all real-life racists. Half idiot and half despicable. Halfwits." Allie said. "Is that right? Then let me show you just how half-witted we really are." Carny said. "Go ahead. Make your move." Ray dared. As Carny prepared to throw the first punch, somebody grabbed his wrist. Everyone gasped at this. Carny slowly turned his head to see who it was. It was the 3 triplet Japanese siblings, Sakura, Kaito and Miku Kazama, who were also good friends of Ray and Jen's group.
Sakura, the oldest, had long black hair and wore a red t-shirt with an exposed mid-section and a Change-O-Bot on it, grey pants and black shoes. Kaito, the middle triplet, had blonde dreadlocks and wore a light blue short-sleeved jacket over a white t-shirt, blue jeans and white shoes. Miku, the youngest, had short black hair and wore a yellow tank-top, white shorts and blue flipflops.
Sakura was the one holding Carny's wrist. "Bad move, racist boy." She said as she raised her fist and punched Carny in the face, knocking him out. Kaito punched Sykes in his throat and kicked Nickels' groin before knocking him out with a punch. Miku grabbed Candy by her hair and slammed her forehead against one of the tables, and then delivered a roundhouse kick to Icey's head, knocking her down. The teachers walked up and gathered up the unconscious bullies. "They're all yours." Sakura said. The teachers nodded as they carried the bullies away. "You guys alright?" Miku asked. "Yeah. Thankfully, you guys showed up before it got worse." Jen said. "Yeah. You alright, Ray?" Allie asked. "Yeah, I'm fine. And besides we all saved a life today." Ray said. "Yeah. Thanks, guys." Gabe said. "Well, 2 if you count the spider." Jen said. Allie held out her hand, revealing that the spider was alright. Just then, the bell rang.
Later, during class, having already finished their work, Ray and Jen were looking out the window with their pendants. "Now some say using tools was the key. But I think empathy and cooperation set mankind on the road to civilization. Because working together makes us all strong." The teacher, Mr. Boyd said. Just then, Ray and Jen caught a glimpse of something through their pendants. It looked like some kind of stone tower. "You see it too?" Ray asked. "Yeah. What was that?" Jen asked. "Can't go through the looking glass, Ray and Jen. This is reality." Mr. Boyd said as he collected their work.
After school, Ray, Jen, Allie, Gabe, Terry, Greta, Portia, Maribel, Sakura, Kaito and Miku headed down the alley to meet up with Janet and Grandpa Raiden. "Wow. Short day and Friday. Things are looking up." Allie said. "Yeah, dude. This is quite a day for us." Greta said. But then, Sykes, Nickels and Icey ambushed them, wielding blunt instruments. "It's payback time, Okamoto!" Carny's voice called. Everyone looked behind them and saw him and Candy, wielding blunt instruments too. "You guys just don't know when to quit do you?" Terry asked. "Shut it, negro lover! After that last beat down, we got suspended for a month!" Candy exclaimed. "It's no more than you racists deserved." Jen said. "Well, now you lepers are gonna get what you deserve." Carny said. Sakura stepped up and took a stance. "Bring it on." She dared as Kaito and Miku took their stance. Carny shouted and ran towards her, swinging his pipe at her head. But Sakura ducked and swept his leg, knocking Carny onto his back. Candy ran in next, but Sakura caught her by the throat and punched her hard in the face, knocking her out. "Kazama scum!" Nickels shouted as he ran towards Kaito and Miku. Kaito grabbed Nickels' arm as he swung and struck his shoulder hard with his elbow, dislocating it. Icey charged towards Miku, but she grabbed her and slammed her hard at a dumpster. As Sykes charged for Kaito, he back-flipped and kicked the bully hard in the chin, knocking him down. "What do we keep saying? Never mess with a Kazama." Sakura said.
At that moment, Janet pulled up in her car. Seeing the scenery, she got out of the car with worry. "What happened?" She asked in worry. "Carny, Candy and their pals thought it was a smart idea to ambush us for getting them suspended, Mrs. Okamoto." Allie said. "Luckily, my sisters and I were able to teach them another lesson." Kaito said. "Thank you, Kazamas." Janet said. Suddenly, Carny recovered and grabbed Ray with a headlock, making him drop his sketchpad and open to the Terrasaur's picture. "Ray!" Jen and Janet cried. "Nobody move! One wrong move and I'll snap his neck!" Carny exclaimed as Candy and the other bullies recovered. "Please! Don't hurt my son!" Janet begged. "Shut up! I don't take orders from an Asian-loving hoe! You're a traitor to all us whites!" Carny exclaimed. Janet gasped at this. "Told you he said something about you." Jen said. Suddenly, Carny was struck hard on the back of his head, making him let go of Ray. It was Sakura. She snuck around Carny quick enough to strike him and help Ray. "You good?" She asked. "Yeah. I'm okay." Ray said. Jen and Janet ran over and hugged him tightly. "Thank goodness." Janet cried.
As Carny slowly recovered, he caught a glimpse of the Terrasaur's picture in the sketchpad before Ray picked it up. "Hey, freaks, what was that thing?" He asked. "It's a…" Ray started to say, trying to think of its name. "It's called a…" Jen started to say, thinking too. "It's called…Rumbling Terrasaur!" They shouted simultaneously. Suddenly, a portal opened behind Carny. And then, another Terrasaur came through the portal. It gave a loud roar and the bullies ran off like cowards. "What the heck is that?!" Portia exclaimed in shock. Janet and the Kazama Triplets couldn't believe their eyes. Ray and Jen just summoned a Rumbling Terrasaur. "Get back! We'll handle this!" Sakura exclaimed as Kaito and Miku joined her. The kids hid behind Janet as they watched. The Kazama Triplets put on the same fingerless gloves and summoned their own dueling gauntlets. Sakura's was light green with a pink highlight. Kaito's was sky blue. And Miku's was bright yellow. "Grove Protector!" Sakura called. Another portal opened and a tree creature leapt out and landed in front of her. "Citizen Tokori!" Kaito called. Another portal opened and a blue humanoid creature with a manta head and a cannon on its right arm leapt out and landed on Grove Protector's right. "Haven's Elite!" Miku called. Another portal opened and a yellow samurai robot leapt out and landed on Grove Protector's left. The kids were surprised to see this. Especially Ray and Jen.
"Attack!" The Kazama Triplets exclaimed simultaneously. The 3 creatures charged in and started attacking the Terrasaur. Grove Protector swatted it with his big root arms. Citizen Tokori blasted it with waterjets from his cannon. Haven's Elite spun like a top and struck it repeatedly. But the Terrasaur proved to be a tough creature. As the 3 creatures pulled back, the Terrasaur charged and bashed into them, making them disappear. "Run!" Sakura exclaimed. Everyone turned and ran towards a construction zone. Hector, who was watching from the rooftops, leapt down and sealed the portal the Terrasaur came from before turning his attention to the construction site. Janet and the kids hid behind a pile of bricks as the Terrasaur sniffed for them. "I think we lost it." Ray whispered. But suddenly, the Terrasaur bashed through the bricks and sent everyone flying. "Ow. That would be a big no." Maribel groaned. "It may have bad eyesight. If we don't move, it won't see us." Gabe said. The Terrasaur roared. "Nope! It sees us!" Greta exclaimed with panic. "Run!" Ray exclaimed. "Uh, can't seem to move my feet." Allie whimpered, too scared to move. "We gotta summon something else!" Kaito exclaimed. "But what? Our last ones were our best shots!" Miku exclaimed. Sakura tried to think of what creature to summon, but she had too many choices. The Terrasaur turned its attention to Ray and Jen, and charged towards them.
Suddenly, as the Terrasaur was within reach of the Okamoto Twins, it stopped in its tracks and started sniffing them. Janet and the kids prayed for their survival. Ray and Jen hesitantly raised their hands and gently placed them on the Terrasaur's snout, calming the beast. Janet smiled at this, knowing that her children were specially bonded with the creatures.
Just then, the man who was stalking Hector appeared at the site. "That's interesting." He said as he prepared his tech gauntlet. The Terrasaur sensed this and turned towards him. Janet and the Kazama Triplets hid themselves so they wouldn't be spotted. "You are a bit of a problem. But I have a solution." The man said. His tech gauntlet fired its claws, ripping open a portal and forcefully dragging a giant eel creature called Rapids Lurker Wwhhshrill into the scene. "That's better. Now, Rapids Lurker…attack." The man said. Rapids Lurker and the Terrasaur began to fight. The Terrasaur bashed Rapids Lurker into another pile of bricks. But Rapids Lurker wrapped itself around the Terrasaur and delivered an electric shock. Ray, Jen and the others watched in horror as the fight progressed. The Terrasaur bashed Rapids Lurker into another brick pile and struggled to free itself. The man looked on with an evil smile. As Rapids Lurker continued shocking it, the Terrasaur managed to free itself from Lurker's coils and sent it flying with a ground smash. The Terrasaur charged towards the man. But the man moved out of the way and regained control of the Lurker, wrapping around the Terrasaur and delivering another electric jolt. The jolt was too much for the Terrasaur as Rapids Lurker let it go and sent it crashing into another brick pile. It was too exhausted to get back up and continue fighting.
As the man stared at the Terrasaur, Ray and Jen stepped between them. "Wait! Mister! Don't kill it. I don't think it was trying to hurt us." Ray said. "Young man, this beast is extremely dangerous, but I have no intention of killing it." The man said. "It didn't seem that dangerous. When we touched its snout, it seemed…tame." Jen said. "You're only young. You have yet to understand how dangerous these creatures really are." The man said. "Who are you?" Ray asked. "I could ask you and your sister the same." The man said. Just then, a truck pulled up next to the Terrasaur as it tried to recover, but couldn't. "Psst. Grab Ray and Jen. We've got to get out of here before that man sees us." Janet whispered. 2 Indian twins and 2 armored men walked up to the Terrasaur. "Containment." The first twin, Alakshmi, said, glaring at Ray and Jen for a moment as the other kids ran up to get them. "Come on, Ray and Jen. Time to go." Allie said as she and Portia pulled Ray and Jen away from the scene. As the goons covered the Terrasaur with a tarp, the Indian twins activated a snare and it wrapped itself around the Terrasaur's horn with energy bindings. "Shall we eliminate the witnesses, my lord?" Alakshmi asked. "Alakshmi, they're children. You might encourage them not to post online about the experience." The man said. Nearby, Hector watched as the Terrasaur was being loaded onto the truck.
Later, everyone headed over to Allie's house to recover and process from what they had witnessed while Janet and the Kazamas were making refreshments. "Okay. For reals, what was all that?" Allie asked. "Who was that man? And that weird fish creature just appeared." Ray said. "And what about the walking tree, manta-headed creature and golden samurai robot the Kazamas were using?" Maribel asked. "Hello? Ray and Jen drew that giant horned thing before we even saw it." Allie said. "What? The Rumbling Terr-" Ray tried to say. But Allie quickly covered his mouth. "That's it! You 2 said the name and it appeared!" She exclaimed. "But how did that even happen? How'd you 2 even know its name?" Terry asked. "We just made it up." Jen said. "Okay. So, you 2 were gone for the last 2 years at Wizard School and now you bring drawings to life from your sketchbook?" Allie asked sarcastically. "Wow. And I thought you 2 were weird before we started hanging out." Portia said. "It didn't come from their sketchbook." Janet said as she and the Kazamas came back with milkshakes. "Huh? What do you mean, Mrs. Okamoto?" Greta asked. "Those creatures came from another dimension. And you 2 didn't make up the name." Janet said. "Wait. If that was its actual name, then how'd we know how to draw it in our sketchbook?" Ray asked. "Speaking of which, where is your sketchbook?" Gabe asked. Ray and Jen gasped. They remembered that Ray dropped it during the fight. "I dropped it back in the alley. We have to go back and get it." Ray said as he and Jen exited the bedroom. The kids, Janet and the Kazamas followed as they made their way downstairs. "I say we make a pact. We can't pretend it didn't happen, but we can talk about it again never. Especially the monster's name." Allie said. The kids put their hands on top of each other and sealed the pact. "Sorry to say, but that pact isn't going to matter." Miku said. "How so?" Jen said. "Because the next big thing is going to appear right at that door." Miku said.
As Ray and Jen opened the door, Hector was standing right outside, holding up the sketchpad. "Hello. I am Hector Chavez. May I ask which of you drew the Rumbling-" He tried to ask. "Don't say it!" Allie panicked, covering Hector's mouth. "Allison!" Janet exclaimed. Allie chuckled sheepishly. "It takes more than just saying a name." Hector said as he removed Allie's hands. "Figured you'd show up by now, Hector." Janet said. "Nice to see you too, Janet. Kazamas." Hector said. "Master." The Kazama Triplets said simultaneously as they bowed to him. "You know him?" Terry asked. "Tell you later." Sakura said. Hector noticed Ray and Jen's pendants. "Interesting pendants." He said. Ray and Jen tried to hide them. "Perhaps we can talk?" Hector asked, revealing a similar pendant before he gave the sketchpad to Ray. The kids were shocked by this. "It's okay, kids. You can trust him." Janet said. Hector smiled.
Later, Hector revealed that he witnessed everything that had happened from the alley to the construction site. "Ray, Jen, that creature could've trampled you. Why didn't you 2 run?" He asked. "We just felt…it wouldn't hurt us." Ray said. "And it felt tamed when we touched its snout." Jen said. Hector raised his eyebrow at that last part. "I'm surprised it didn't. Even more that you 'touched' it." He said. "I second that." Allie said. Hector still thought about how Ray and Jen were able to calm a Rumbling Terrasaur just by touching it. Suddenly, his thoughts were interrupted when he sensed something outside. The 2 Indian girls from before were outside with a couple of Ambush Scorpions. "They're going to be trouble." Hector said. "Should we call the police?" Allie asked. "Try the army." Ray said. "No. They wouldn't get here in time." Janet said. "Do you have a back door?" Hector asked. Just then, the second twin, Saanvi, and the Ambush Scorpions burst through the glass door in the back. "Not anymore." Gabe said with worry. "Where do we go now?" Portia asked. "This way." Allie said, pointing to the basement. Everyone ran down to the basement. Gabe and Terry locked the door as Alakshmi and her Ambush Scorpion burst through the front door. The Scorpions slashed down the door and crawled down the stairs, but stopped in front of another door. "Open it." Alakshmi ordered.
The Ambush Scorpions started piercing their tails through the door. "Did those girls seem familiar to anyone else?" Greta asked. "Yeah. Those girls were with that guy when he was attacking the Terrasaur. But what do they want with us?" Gabe asked "Obviously, because we were witnesses to that attack." Maribel said. "Apparently, I'm not the only one who's curious about you. Stand back." Hector said. He summoned his gauntlet. "Gillaflame the Assaulter!" He shouted. A portal opened and Gillaflame appeared in front of them. "I'm with you, Hector." Janet said as she put on her own glove and summoned her own gauntlet, which was dark green and brown. "Jarbala Keeper!" She shouted. A portal opened and a female panther warrior appeared. Ray and Jen couldn't believe their eyes when their own mother did this.
But then, the Ambush Scorpions broke down the door. "Gillaflame, eviscerate." Hector ordered. The first Ambush Scorpion moved in to strike Gillaflame, but he dodged with his super speed and slashed the Scorpion, making it disappeared. "Jarbala, eviscerate!" Janet ordered. Jarbala Keeper slashed the second Scorpion with her daggers, making it disappear. Gillaflame tried to slash the girls, but they ducked right him. "Razorkinder Puppet, come!" Alakshmi exclaimed, using her tech gauntlet to rip open a portal. "Jackalax!" Saanvi exclaimed, ripping open another portal with her tech gauntlet. As Gillaflame and Jarbala moved in to attack again, a Jackalax was dragged through the portal and tackled them. A Razorkinder dropped to the floor and used control strings to stand itself up. "Eviscerate him!" Alakshmi ordered. Razorkinder began slashing its claws at Hector as he dodged them and blocked with his gauntlet. Jarbala struggled with the Jackalax. But then, the Jackalax tossed her at the wall and slashed her with its claws, making her disappear. "No!" Janet cried. "Gillaflame, cover our escape!" Hector ordered. Gillaflame grabbed Razorkinder and the Jackalax, and slammed them into the wall. Hector looked through his pendant and saw a vast field. He started moving his arms and opened a portal. "Time to go, I think you said." He said. Janet and the kids ran into the portal. The Indian girls tried to follow, but Gillaflame slashed the Jackalax, making it disappear, and bashed into them. Hector leapt into the portal and closed it. Gillaflame moved in to slash at the Indian girls, but Razorkinder stopped his strike with his strings, coiled them around him and made him disappeared. "Anymore bright ideas?" Saanvi asked. "Shut up, Saanvi." Alakshmi said.
Meanwhile, the portal brought Hector, Janet, the Kazama Triplets and the kids to a lush location called the Nature Realm. "Whoa. This is…whoa." Ray said. "My thoughts precisely." Gabe said. "Look. More of those Terrasaur thingies." Portia said, pointing towards a river where an entire herd of Terrasaurs were drinking. "Where are we?" Terry asked. "Kids, welcome to the Nature Civilization." Janet said. "Everyone be careful." Hector advised. Suddenly, something big crashed beside them. It was a hand belonging to a giant. "Earthstomp Giant. And look who he's fighting." Miku said. Everyone looked and saw a giant dragon flying towards Earthstomp Giant. "Oh no. Bolshack Dragon." Sakura said. Suddenly, just as Earthstomp Giant shooed Bolshack Dragon away, a giant blue machine creature popped out of the water and crawled its way towards the fight. "And now a Midnight Crawler." Janet said. "I figured it out! None of this is real, right? I'm just dreaming." Gabe said. "What?! No, Gabe, you're not!" Allie exclaimed. "Just what a Dream Allie would say." Gabe said, unconvinced. Just then, Terry slapped him in the face. "Did that feel like a dream to you?" He asked. "Nope." Gabe said, holding his cheek.
Earthstomp Giant punched the Midnight Crawler. But Midnight Crawler recovered, grabbed a boulder and threw it at Earthstomp Giant's head. "This is the part of the dream where you RUN!" Hector exclaimed. Suddenly, a giant shell case landed behind them. Bolshack Dragon was perched on a cliff above the group, firing its cannons at the 2 giants.
"Okay! Wanna go home now!" Allie cried as they ran from the shell case shower. "I'm afraid we can't do that yet!" Hector exclaimed. As they ran, Gabe got knocked down by a tree branch. "Why not now?!" Allie asked as they ran under a giant spider. "I used my gauntlet to open a breach in the Veil! My mana hasn't quite recharged yet!" Hector explained. "Oh yeah. That all sounds great. Couple of little questions. You used your WHAT to open a WHAT in the WHAT?! WHO ARE YOU?!" Ray asked in a panic. Suddenly, before any questions could be answered, Earthstomp Giant smashed the ground and knocked everyone down with the force. "Okay. I'm ready to wake up now." Gabe said. "Yeah. Can we go now?" Allie asked desperately. "Soon! I hope." Hector said. "Wait, Mom, can't you open one of those portal things and get us home?" Jen asked. "Oh, I'm afraid not. I'm a little out of practice with opening breaches in the Veil." Janet said. "What about you, Kazamas? Can't any of you guys do it?" Maribel asked. "No, we can't. We're not that far in our training." Sakura said. They started running again as Earthstomp Giant and the Midnight Crawler started fighting again. But the Earthstomp Giant slammed its fist into the cliff, causing it to break apart. "Any time, Mr. Chavez!" Ray exclaimed. Hector started opening up another portal. Or breach.
The breach opened back to Earth, causing everyone to land in the streets just as a car was passing by. Janet and the kids ran for the sidewalk as Hector sealed up the breach. "Everyone okay?" Hector asked. "Everyone's fine, Hector." Janet said. "So…not a dream." Gabe said. "I told you." Terry said. Hector chuckled sheepishly. "Oh, come on! All your arms and legs are still on." He assured. But Ray, Jen, Allie, Gabe, Terry, Greta, Portia and Maribel just glared. "I know exactly what you need." Hector said.
He took them to a milkshake restaurant and bought everyone milkshakes. "You guys feeling any better?" He asked. "Oh, much." Greta said as she savored her shake's taste. "My straw is broken." Gabe said after he bent his straw from sucking too hard. "Here, take mine. I never use it anyway." Terry said, giving Gabe his straw. "Earth to Ray and Jen. Are you 2 zoning out or are you 2 actually in shock? Because I'm. In. Shock." Allie said. "You're not the only one, Allison." Maribel said. "We're just kinda…déjà vu-ing." Ray said. "Yeah. Didn't that remind you guys of something?" Jen asked. "Yeah. Your sketchbook and about 80 horror movies." Allie said, slurping her shake. "She's right. That was the most terrifying thing I've ever seen in my life." Portia said. "Hey, you, Monster Man. How are we supposed to unsee all that, huh? Huh?!" Allie asked. "I don't think we can even if we try to, Allie." Greta said. "You knew how to find us. Somehow, we knew how to draw that creature before we ever saw it." Ray said. "Not to mention you know our mother and 3 of our most trusted friends." Jen said. "You need to tell us what's going on here." Ray demanded. "I'd rather show you." Hector said.
Meanwhile, Alakshmi and Saanvi reported back to their boss, named the Choten, just as the truck carrying the Terrasaur was being brought in. "Well?" The Choten asked. "We're sorry, Lord Choten. But a Duel Master interfered." Alakshmi said. "He reached the children before we did, and took them through the Veil." Saanvi said. "Interesting. At least they won't be talking. The Masters will want to keep them quiet as well." The Choten said. "These youths are beneath your concern, my lord. Helpless babies." Alakshmi assured. The Choten silenced her by raising his hand. "Little fish, Alakshmi. It's done. Move on. You as well, Saanvi." He said. Alakshmi and Saanvi bowed and walked out. But the Choten kept his thoughts on what Hector and his fellow Masters might be planning with the children.
Meanwhile, Hector, Janet and the Kazamas brought the kids to a martial arts studio called the Five Paths, where children were displaying forms of martial arts. "What is this?" Gabe asked. "This is where I work." Hector said. "Uh, really?" Portia asked. "You work in a martial arts studio." Allie said in disbelief. "Given what we just went through, I'd say smart career choice." Ray said. "You work here too, Mom?" Jen asked. "Only part time." Janet said. Hector, Janet and the Kazamas led the kids into the back room, where they were greeted by a sumo man named Benjirou Kimora. Hector, Janet and the Kazamas greeted Kimora with a bow. "Master Kimora." Hector said. "Good to see you again." Janet said. "We're taking these young people for a private lesson." Hector said. Kimora kindly gestured them to an ancient dragon mirror. Hector pressed a button beside it and the mirror opened up a secret stairway. "Guess you can go through the looking glass." Ray said. "Works in this case." Jen said. "Ray, Jen, do I need to remind you what happened the last time we went down some stairs with this guy?" Allie said. "Yeah. We nearly ended up giant scorpion food." Greta said. "But he did save our lives." Ray said. "And then nearly got us pulverized again. And with exceeding, it's gonna take me a while to process what we've already been through." Gabe said. "I'm with Gabe on this one. Who's to say that this stairway doesn't lead into another trap?" Portia asked. "Yeah." Maribel said. Ray and Jen looked at Janet, knowing that their own mother would never lead them into anything dangerous. "Do you ever get the feeling that answer to something really important is right on the tip of your tongue?" Ray asked. "Well, Ray and I have got it. And we need you guys with us." Jen said. Allie, Gabe, Terry, Greta, Portia and Maribel looked at each other. "What the heck." Terry said. "What else could they possibly do to freak us out?" Allie asked. "Doubtfully, anything." Portia said. "Might as well see it through. But if we don't like it, we're bolting." Allie warned. "We got your backs. No matter what, homies." Greta said. "I have an arranged a time delay email to my parents and my lawyer detailing our whereabouts. If I don't report back in time…" Gabe started to say. "Gabriel, if I wanted to cause you harm, I would've left you back in the Kaiju Realm." Hector assured as he, Janet and the Kazamas led the kids down the stairs.
"So, Mr. Chavez." Ray said. "Master Chavez actually." Hector said, correcting Ray. "You mentioned Kaiju. And your martial art is called…?" Ray asked. "Kaijudo." Hector revealed. "What's Kaiju?" Allie asked. "Japanese word for monster. How can you like anime and not know that?!" Gabe asked in disbelief. "Ease up, Gabriel." Greta said. "Actually, Kaiju translates to strange beast." Jen said. "So, doing Kaijudo means you practice the way of the strange beast." Ray explained. "That actually makes sense. I think." Portia said. "So, you, our mom and the Kazamas battle with those monsters?" Ray asked. "It's called dueling. And we just call them creatures." Hector explained as they reached the bottom of the stairs. "So, it's safe to assume we're there, Mom?" Jen asked. "Oh, we're there, kids." Janet said. "Welcome to the temple of the Kaijudo Duel Masters." Hector said, revealing their location. Ray, Jen, Allie, Gabe, Terry, Greta, Portia and Maribel were in awe at this.
