Intermission 10

Luigi

As the crowd parted at the sound of the intermission bell, Luigi was immediately wrapped in a hug by Daisy.

"Oh my Gawd you did great," she whispered in his ear.

Luigi laughed, "You seem excited,"

"I mean, if it ain't gonna be me winning this thing, it'd better be you. I don't think I could keep my politician smile on if Wolf or Sephiroth wins."

"Plus, I bet some Sarsalandians are coming home with significantly more money."

"Yeah," Daisy said, releasing the hug and pumping her fist, "Pump that shit back into the economy bay-beeee,'

"Seven Stars I love you so much," Luigi said, in complete awe.

"Truly a magnificent win Luigi," Peach proclaimed as she walked up to them, "Are you worried about the Hylian contingent,"

Luigi shook his head, "Nah, but I'll be watching the match with great interest. Ganondorf seems to be on another level."

Peach nodded, "The Yiga Clan being on the side of good may also prove to be an asset as well."

Luigi and Peach suddenly followed Daisy's gaze. Zelda was genuflected in prayer, the three Links standing in a circle around her.

"Poor girl," Daisy tutted, "I can't imagine what it's like having to fight your worst enemy in a sporting contest like this."

Peach nodded solemnly, watching on.

Zelda

Toon Link shifted on his foot awkwardly.

"Should…should we tell her people are looking?"

Link held a finger to his lips, keeping a vigilant watch.

"Ya know," Young Link asked, "Why aren't we going into Triforce spasms with Zelda being in love?"

Link glanced at Erdrick, who was happily chittering with The Kongs about getting some ice cream later, "Because Ganondorf's heart is corrupted. We know our place within the cycle, so our blood doesn't cry for power like Ganondorf's."

Young Link attempted to find Ganondorf in the massive crowd. He stood with Wario and Sephiroth, "Speaking of power…"

Link caught site of the villainous trio.

"May Hylia help us all."

As he said this, Zelda got to her feet.

"You ready, Your Highness?" asked Toon Link.

Zelda smiled down at the expressive adventurer, "Yes. Make the appropriate call to the champions. I want them all involved,"

Toon Link snapped into a salute, "Got it!"

Zelda turned to Young Link, "Could you be a dear and retrieve Erdrick? I want him as a part of this too."

Young Link darted through the crowd without hesitation.

Meanwhile, Link cast a worried glance at Zelda, "You not worried about those three idiots fraternizing?"

Zelda grinned, "If I was worried about Ganondorf expressing greed I would be worried all the time.

The two shared a chuckle, Zelda's grin suddenly waning.

"Link," she asked. "Do you think the balance of the Triforce could change without evil intervention?"

"I think about it sometimes," Link admitted.

"And if giving in to your desires was what upset this balance, would you proceed on?"

"Ganondorf gives into thoughts of greed, and lust and we still repel his villainy. If something you're doing willingly is upsetting the balance, we will persevere. I know we can.

As Zelda nodded, Toon Link shuffled back up to them.

"The Champions and Erdrick are ready!"

"Good," Zelda said, sneering at Ganondorf, "I hope Ganondorf is ready."

Ganondorf

"WAHAHAHAHA!" chortled Wario, "The Wah-ffice is back together!"

Ganondorf sneered, "Only because you've built the irrigation system I've asked for, and having my money managed is ideal."

Wario rubbed his hands together, "Imagine it, Ganondorf versus Sephiroth in the finals! Money money MONEY!"

Sephiroth flipped his hair, "Don't underestimate the Princess. You of all people should know that."

The Triforce of Power throbbed.

"Hmph," Sephiroth grinned at Ganondorf's pain, "Even the Triforce knows."

"Quiet," hissed Ganondorf, "If anything, Wario needs to learn that lesson."

"What lesson?" Wario whined, "That the princess who didn't get captured during the Subspace War helped out. Cry me a river."

The bell rang.

"Ganondorf, you're in Tunnel B. Zelda, you're in Tunnel A." quacked Mikey.

"Is my special entrance prepared!" demanded Ganondorf.

"Yep," nodded Mikey.

Ganondorf laughed as the Champions of Hyrule stepped through a portal. Zelda paid the sneering Gerudo King no mind, and her and her entourage walking down the tunnel..
