Intermission 12

Red

When the crowd parted. Green jumped into a hug, wrapping her arms around Red's neck.

"Did you mean what you told 9-Volt?" she asked, "That us resolving our drama makes you feel at home?"

Red shrugged, "It's a misquote, but I'm not mad about it,"

Green nuzzled Red's neck, "Ever the romantic,"

Pichu jumped onto Red's shoulder, "Wow! You're gonna kick those fighting guys' asses."

Pikachu jumped onto his other shoulder, "Language kiddo,"

"Sorry dad," grumbled Pichu, his ears drooping in shame.

Pikachu climbed to Red's ear.

"Yeah, you're gonna kick his ass."

"I heard that," teased Green.

"I'm a grown ass Pikachu," Pikachu insisted, "I can say what I want."

"If you're so grown," giggled Pichu, "why haven't you evolved yet?"

"Master Hand used to say I was integral to this whole operation as a Pikachu. I don't know about that, but…"

"You're the most popular Pokemon in the world, what the hell are you talking about?" shouted Travis Touchdown from somewhere in the room.

Pikachu sighed, "That's what you get for trying to be humble around here…"

Quinn

Amidst the jovial banter of the Pokemon crew, Quinn did Hindu Squats. It was all he could do when he was nervous. Keep count, and just let the fists fly when the fight began.

His eyes found Ken in the crowd, making Chun-Li laugh with a joke he could barely make out. Ryu eyes found his, even through Quinn's signature dark sunglasses.

Quinn could only think to wave, continuing his Hindu Squats.

Ken

"Quinn appears to be warming up," announced Ryu, "Perhaps we can do the same."

Ken shot him a bemused look over his shoulder.

"It's like I said during the interview," Ken cockily proclaimed, "I got this. Gief and Mika trained him and wrestling, when the kid's a karate man like us. His form'll be rusty."

Ryu grumbled disapprovingly, "With items at play, that might not matter."

"So then why warm up?" Ken asked.

Chun-Li laughed, "He has a point Ryu,"

Ryu grumbled again as the intermission bell rang.

"Alright, Ken, you're in Tunnel A. Homeslice, the other two rasslers are waiting in Tunnel B.

Quinn gave Rosalina a playful salute. She saluted back, turning back to talk with Luigi and Daisy. The rest of the world seemed to melt away as the Mii Brawler jogged down the tunnel. As promised, Mika and Zangief waited for him.

"Yo!" Quinn waved, "Thanks for the interview help. Was probably my best one yet."

Zangief laughed, slapping Quinn on the shoulder playfully, "Is what faction memembers are for."

Quinn nodded as the sounds of he and Ken's video package began to filter up the tunnel.
