There I was, cornered. I could think of a million ways I'd like to die that wasn't this.
It wasn't long until the demonic fox-like being reared it's ugly head, looking at her I was reminded of all that was despicable in this word. Eyes alight with greed and fear, a towering figure silhouetted by the flames of war and despair, an empty husk with nothing to live for.
I could relate all too well. Maybe that's why I liked Cherry… well like was a strong term, she was still hopelessly naive but she wasn't exactly stupid. I hardly knew her yes, but she was always there, a constant support by my side and well she was okay, so it was okay I was dying I suppose. Hell I didn't even like being alive that much myself.
I could almost imagine her snickering voice as if she was right here beside me. "Can you hear yourself? Hehe? Who thought it would come to this? You and me, Best friends! We can't give in yet! You only just began to tolerate me." When did I become so fond of her? Well it didn't matter now.
A paw was raised for a final strike. I closed my eyes and waited for the inevitable to come. It happened in slow motion, "Green elekity! Whatcha doing just standing there? Move!"
Okay what the heck was I thinking? I didn't want to die! Channeling all my power I gave one last fatal attempt at a lightning dodge, turning myself into pure lightning for a moment and zapping behind her.
The earth shook and a hole was left where I was once standing, fur sparked on end and eyes wild I stood, alive.
