I am not super happy with how this chaper came out, but I wasn't about to skip it since, I really wanted to have some sort of chapter to explain some stuff.
At the start of Summer break Odd and Ulrich were leaving Kadic to spend time with their families. The group was talking shortly before they were departing near the campus gate. "Hope you four have a calm summer break." Ulrich said to Yumi, Josh, Jeremy and Aelita. "I plan on digging into what exactly happened to Lyoko when Xana escaped. I want to understand what effect he had on the virtual world." Jeremy said. Aelita stood sort of quiet still taking everything from the past few days in. "Well, I have a few ideas I want to run by Jeremy and Aelita for some small experiments I want to try on Lyoko." Josh said having made a few realizations over the past few days that he had yet to share with the two. "While those two are busy working, Aelita asked if I could teach her Go. So that's what I am going to be doing most of the break." Yumi said smiling. Odd and Ulrich's family eventually showed up to pick them up.
Later that day, Josh and Jeremy headed to the factory to do some work while Yumi sat down with Aelita and started to teach her Go. In the Lab Jeremy was looking through the logs from when Xana managed to escape from the supercomputer. "Hey Josh, take a look at this." Jeremy said, bring up a screen showing energy draw across different parts of lyoko with all of the energy concentrating in Sector 5. "What did you find?" Josh asked, not noticing anything. "Well, shortly after Xana took all of Aelita's memory but before you were devirtualized there was a huge energy spike towards Sector Five as something or someone had pulled in energy from across all the sectors." Jeremy said. "Okay? That was probably Xana getting enough energy to escape." Josh said. "That's what I thought too, until I took a look at the information concerning everyone virtualized on Lyoko at the time." Jeremy said bring that screen up. While all the vitals and data for Aelita were basically zero due to her having died from Xana stealing all her memory, Josh's vitals were greatly increased including the amount of energy held within his virtual envelope. "Okay, that is interesting." Josh said, raising an eyebrow. "Think this has to do with however my programming merged with the core programming of Lyoko?" Josh asked. "I am sure it is. I have seen readings like this when Aelita has used her creativity in the past. So I am thinking we should try some experiments on Lyoko. You may be able to affect Lyoko itself much like Aelita can." Jeremy said typing to close some of the windows.
"While we are on the topic of experiments on Lyoko. I realized something. Now that Aelita has all of her memory, shouldn't the normal materialization program be able to work on her? We should see if you can materialize her normally next time we are on Lyoko." Josh said, walking towards the holo-system to sit down. "Hm, that is something we could easily test. Since even if it fails nothing bad will happen since that what I tried originally when I first met her." Jeremy said, taking his glasses off to rub his eyes. "We should probably take a break. Plus we need to arrange a time with Yumi and Aelita to go on a training mission and do these experiments." He added getting up from the console. Jeremy began to walk to the elevator to head back to campus. Josh got up from sitting on the holo-system and followed him into the elevator.
As they walked Jeremy texted Yumi to find out where she was teaching Aelita Go. After getting a text back that they were in the library, Jeremy and Josh proceeded to walk there. Once they archived, Jeremy and Josh sat down by Yumi and Aelita. Jeremy sat next to Aelita and Josh sat next to Yumi. "So how did your research go?" Yumi asked Jeremy. "Well, I didn't find much but I found something very interesting." Jeremy said. "Interesting in a good or bad way?" Yumi asked, still playing GO with Aelita. "I would say, in a good way. We came to work out when we could all meet at the factory and go through some training missions. Josh and I also have some experiments we want to try. One involved Josh's connection to Lyoko, and the other involves how Aelita got all of her memory back." Jeremy said. Aelita listened with interest. "What sort of experiments?" Aelita asked curiously. "Well, I want to see if I can directly affect Lyoko since my program seems to have tightly combined itself with Lyoko's core programming. For example, I want to see if I can do something similar to your creativity ability." Josh said. "Also I had an idea to see if the normal de-virtualization program will work on you now that you're not missing a memory fragment." He added. "That would be something good to test." Yumi said, replying to the last part. "I have got to head home in a bit but tomorrow I should be free most of the day, so let's meet at the factory then." She added. "Okay, that will work for me as well." Jeremy said, getting up. "I plan on heading back to the factory. I want to try and see if I can figure out any way to track Xana on the network." He added.
Aelita, Yumi and Josh also stood up. Yumi waved as she walked to the door to leave. "Jeremy, why don't you do that tomorrow? At least take a short break from working on it." Aelita said, putting her hand on his shoulder. "Maybe, you're right, plus it would give time for Josh to work on the supercomputer, since he was working on a program as well but couldn't do any work on it since I was always at the console." Jeremy said, smiling a bit. "I guess I will be heading to the factory then." Josh said as he walked towards the door. Aelita and Jeremy both walked out the door together.
Later that night Josh was still working at the supercomputer when the elevator began to move and when the doors opened, Aelita and Jeremy stepped out. "So Josh, how's it going?" Jeremy asked. "Not much, I haven't been able to find any trace of Aelita's Father on Lyoko at all. But I also haven't tried everything I could yet." Josh replied. "You should head back to campus with us. It's getting late." He added. "Says the one that's going to end up falling asleep at his computer again." Josh said getting up walking to the elevator. The three then left the factory and when they reached the campus went their separate ways to their dorm rooms.
The next day, Yumi, Josh, Jeremy and Aelita meet up at the factory. "Okay, I am going to be virtualizing you into the desert sector. Then you guys can start doing some training. And hopefully Xana will leave us alone during this." Jeremy said typing as he set up the virtualizations. Yumi, Josh and Aelita got on the elevator and went down to the scanner room before each got into a scanner.
On Lyoko, Aelita, Yumi and Josh landed on their feet and looked around a bit. "Now remember the goal is to try and train your skill. Not necessarily to devirtualize each other." Jeremy said, typing a bit. "Also Aelita it seems your complete virtual profile has a valid weapon now. So you should see if you can figure out what it is." He added, not able to actually figure out what it was.
Josh and Yumi were training together, Yumi was throwing her fan towards Josh as he blocked it with his sword, eventually managing to deflect it back at her one of the times. "You're getting pretty good at that. Much better then when we first met." Yumi said. "Yea, I guess. I think I am going to see if Aelita can tell me how she uses her creativity ability.." Josh said, walking towards Aelita who had been sitting on rock watching the two. "To answer your question, I just concentrate really hard and focus on what I want to form. And generally it forms." Aelita said, smiling. "Okay. Well, here goes…" Josh said reaching his hand out and concentrating as much as he could trying to make a wall, but nothing was happening. "Hm… Guess maybe I can't do anything like that." Josh down a bit. "Maybe not, it could just be that you have to practice." Aeltia said, as she closed her eyes and reached out her hand to form a wall but as she concentrated to do so she could feel energy against her palm, opening her eyes and jumped, startled by seeing a pink orb of energy in her hand. When she jumped the energy field flew out of her hand, out across the sector. "What was that?" Josh asked, never seeing anything like it before. "I don't know, it just sort of happened." Aelita said as Yumi came running over having seen it all.
"Aelita, I think that's your weapon!" Yumi said, smiling a bit. "Try to do it again." She added. Aelita reached out her hand and thought about forming a ball of energy and it happened again, this time she controlled when she let go of it. "That's great!" Josh said. "Why don't you try hitting me with it." Josh said, volunteering to see how strong it was.
"Go ahead Aelita, I was just about to tell you guys to start wrapping up, it's getting a bit late." Jeremy said over the mic. Aelita focused and threw an energy field towards Josh and hit him directly in the chest, he was tossed backwards a good bit, pink energy coursing over him before devirtualizing him. "Wow, your energy fields sure are powerful." Jeremy said. "Yea.." Aelita said, sounding very tired after throwing that one. "I will try and bring you in, Aelita, to see if Josh's theory is sound." Jeremy said launching a devirtualization for Aelita. Yumi watched on Lyoko as for the first time Aelita's virtual form lost its color then surface and turned into a wireframe before disappearing. "Josh, tell me Aelita's in the scanner room with you." Jeremy said having watched the devirtualization complete, but still worried. "She's here." Josh said, walking over to the scanner across from him, seeing Aelita catching herself from falling out of it. "You alright?" He asked. "I think so." She said, sounding tired. "Let's go up to the lab. I bet Jeremy will be excited about your new weapon." He said as Yumi also got out of a scanner and joined them in the elevator.
Once in the lab, Aelita sat on the holo-projector system while Yumi leaned on the wall, Josh just sort of stood there listening. "Aelita, Your energy fields are amazing. Based on the information I got when you hit Josh it looks like they do around 100 damage. Although I can't know for sure." Jeremy said smiling. "It really took a lot out of me. I think I should reserve using them as a last resort. At least until I can get better control of them." Aelita replied, still sounding tired. "I wasn't able to affect Lyoko directly at all, although that doesn't really mean much." Josh said, informing Jeremy of the results of his little experiment. "We should head back to campus, don't want to miss dinner." Josh said ,smiling a bit.
Shortly after the group got back to campus Aelita, Jeremy and Josh headed to the cafeteria to have dinner while Yumi headed home.
Over the rest of break, Jeremy continued to work on finding a way to track Xana on the network, while Josh, Aelita and Yumi all trained on Lyoko. Aelita learned more about using her Energy Fields while Josh continued to try as hard as he could to do anything with his apparent connection to Lyoko.
This also means that there will be no shock from Josh, Yumi or Jeremy when Aelita gets devirtualized next chapter. Also I plan on have some interesting aspets to next chapter as well.
I am really hoping to get a review or two. Haven't had any in a while :(
