Chapter 1: Her Nono

After Kurt and Blaine's funeral, no one could get two-year-old Liza Marie Anderson to stop crying. It wasn't until later that Noah Puckerman took her in his arms and put his forehead against hers. That she started to calm down and asked, "Why did this happen, Nono? Why do bad men hurt you? Why do bad men kill Dada and Papa?"

Noah had been mute since an attack overseas a month before Kurt and Blaine died. He couldn't speak, but he didn't need words; all he needed was her, and nothing else mattered.

Liza Marie then says, "Nono, take me to my room. Please, I don't like it here. I'm sad; I need you." She soon breaks down as Noah takes her to her room.

An hour later, Noah texts Quinn, saying, "Babe, tell Mr. H. Liza Marie is asleep, and I can't leave because she is lying on top of me right now. Ha, I tried to leave about a half-hour ago, and she said in her sleep, 'My Nono, don't leave!' God, she is so much like Rachel."

Rachel looked over Quinn's shoulder and shouted, "I saw that, Puck! God, being mute hasn't changed you one bit!"

Then Santana says, "Yeah, well, I hope your shouting doesn't wake Liza Marie up. Because she is like Puck when someone doesn't let her sleep."

Soon Santana gets a text from Noah saying, "I'm mute, not deaf, Satan. Liza Marie is not like me! She's an angel."

Another hour later, Noah came out with Liza Marie and went to the kitchen to make two loaded bacon sandwiches.

As the others watched them eat. Beth said, "Ha! He's my dad, and she's my niece. Neither of them can see how much alike they are. Yeah, she's like Rachel, but I've seen her act just like him more in the last six months."

Rachel was about to say something to Beth when Liza Marie said, "You're mean, Beth! Your dad, not mine!"

Beth looked at Noah and said, "He is your dad now, Liza Marie. Your parents felt bad because he had to give you up and make a mute gigolo your godfather. The son of a bitch hasn't even told his girlfriend Quinn that he is gay now!"

Noah stands up and glares at Beth before he texts Burt. Burt then gets in Beth's face and says, "Puck was raped, Beth! He is not gay! He was raped!" He shows her the text from Noah, causing her to start crying and run out of the house.

After this, Noah and Liza Marie went back to her room. Everyone heard Liza Marie say, "My Nono, not hers! Big meanie, hate her!"

Quinn says to Burt, "Blaine told me that Kurt only chose Puck because he was the only one who could handle her."

Rachel said, "Ha! He was right. Plus, Puck spoiled her. After a doctor told Blaine that she was underweight, he took her to Puck's house for a week-long stay, and when he took her back to the doctor, he was told she had gained twenty pounds. I don't know what she ate, though, because the only fattening thing in his house is bacon. The rest of it was just food people on Keto diets eat."

The others laughed at her, and Santana said, "Rachel, bacon is allowed on the Keto diet."

Liza Marie exited her room with Noah, saying, "I'm sorry you have to leave, but I miss my parents. I want Nono and want my grandparents here too. It makes me sad that people I loved had to go away."

Rachel tried to speak before Liza Marie screamed, "No, go! Want Nono! Not you! My Nono, not Beth's! She left! My parents are gone! Want Nono!"

Soon, Noah picks her up, and Burt tells Rachel, "Your daughter lost her dad and has a bond with Puck. You want to take her away from him, just like Quinn did to Beth? Rachel, if you do that, it might hurt her even more."

Liza Marie screamed, "My Nono!"

Before Jake approached Rachel and said, "I never chose who my dad was, Rachel. I hated the fact I wasn't wanted! Puck grew up knowing our dad left his family for my mom! Kurt and Blaine didn't choose to leave Liza Marie! They were taken from her! Mr. H. is right; if you take her from Puck, it will hurt her more! As Liza Marie said, go; she has Puck and doesn't want you."

Jake is about to leave when Liza Marie says, "Uncle Jake, stay please. Nono's Bubba is still family. Papa's Bubba speaks for Nono, okay?"

Burt laughs and says, "Ha, Jake, I think she just wants you to stay because she doesn't want me to have another heart attack from being Puck's voice."

That night, Noah slept in Liza Marie's bed while she had a nightmare. There was no way to contact Burt and Carole since their stuff was packed away. So, Noah just held her close, humming softly.

The next day, Noah sent Burt a text that read, "How the hell am I supposed to take care of Liza Marie? If I can't even talk, this is crazy! I'm learning sign language, but not everyone understands it, and texting or writing things down can get old fast. Plus, having you or Jake talk for me makes me feel like a baby! She had a nightmare last night, and I had no way to tell you!"

Burt chuckled as he texted back, "You didn't talk much in high school, and let your fists do most of the talking for you, Puck. Hell, even Lou Ferrigno didn't talk in The Incredible Hulk TV series."

Noah entered the living room, carrying Liza Marie in his arms. Burt sat on the couch, reading his newspaper. As Noah grunted, Carole said, "Honey, really? I can't believe you said that to Puck."

Burt looks up from his newspaper as Liza Marie sits beside Noah on the couch and says, "Look, Puck, I know it's going to be hard, and I'm sorry you feel like a baby. But you can do this; we all believe in you here."

After Burt says this, Quinn enters and says, "Sorry, Mr. and Mrs. H., but I need to ask Puck something, and it can't wait."

Then she knelt on one knee and pulled out a ring box before saying, "Noah Elijah Puckerman, I know the man is supposed to ask here, but I'm not waiting until you get your voice back. Anyway, Noah Elijah Puckerman, will you marry me?"

Noah nods yes, and Quinn puts the ring on his finger. Before putting a small ring on her own. Then Burt says, "Those are Elizabeth's and my engagement rings. Where did you find them, Quinn?"

Quinn looks at Burt and says, "They were in Finn's things of the box you gave to Puck."

A month after Quinn and Liza Marie moved in with Noah, they were out at a restaurant. Noah was using sign language to tell the waiter what he wanted. Then a group of men sitting across from them started making fun of Noah. Noah tried to keep his cool and not blow up on the guys as they waited for their food. Then Liza Marie got up in her chair and yelled, "Hey dumbass, my dad can hear you! He had his throat cut!"

The men laugh, and one says, "As if I care. Your dad's the dumbass, kid." Before anyone can react, Liza Marie charges at the guy and stabs his leg with a steak knife.

Noah smirks as Quinn hits his arm and whispers, "Not funny, Puck. She could have hurt the guy." Then he grabs Liza Marie's hand after they paid for their meals.

As they leave, Quinn says to Noah, "I'm glad we found out that Kurt chose us as Liza Marie's godparents now. Ha, I wonder how Rachel would have handled that."

Then Liza Marie said, "Really, Liza Marie, bad girl!" which made Noah chuckle. Then Liza Marie signed something to Noah that made him laugh even harder.

Then a waiter walks up to them and signs, "I'm deaf, and they harass me daily."

Noah signed, "I lost my voice after getting my throat cut. I heard what they said to you. Can you read their lips?"

The waiter nods yes and signs, "A little, but I don't know everything. So, I can't report it."

Then Noah handed the waiter a piece of paper and signed, "This is everything they said behind your back and to your face last week. I realized you were deaf after we ordered our meals last week. Do you work here every day?"

The waiter nodded and signed, "I'm Chris Adams. I'm also gay, and I witnessed that little girl's parents' murder. The cops never took my statement, and they are no better than those jerks."

Then, Noah sees an ad for a Hulk movie on the TV at the bar and says, "My temper is like his."

He then looks at Tracy and says, "And so is hers." The waiter laughs and doesn't reply as they leave.

When they got home, Noah carried a sleeping Liza Marie to her room, and then "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw played on Liza Marie's iPod boombox. Quinn soon heard Noah crying as Liza Marie whispered, "You have me now," over and over again until it was quiet. She checked on them, finding them asleep in Liza Marie's bed.

Quinn soon received a text from Burt that read, "I know about the witness to the murder, Chris Adams. I'm friends with his dad, Rodger; we've worked together for years. The police refuse to reopen the case. Well, I have to go. We will be coming down next week."

Quinn replies, "I've got to tell you about what happened tonight. Little She-Puck stabbed a guy in the leg. Puck was so proud of her, and he had me go to Dairy Queen to get a Reese's, Extreme Blizzard. God, Mr. H, now I get why we're her godparents. Thank you for not telling Mrs. H or Puck the truth about the rings. I still go to Elizabeth's grave once a week. I would have been to Kurt's, but Karofsky wouldn't let me this week. We don't talk to each other; we mainly talk to Kurt. Well, see you next week."

Burt replied, "Puck sent me a video of what happened. You might want to check Facebook, Quinn. I know it was wrong of Liza Marie to do that, but I can't lie, I laughed too. Carole's reaction wasn't much different from yours. Well, I've got to go. See you next week." As Quinn went to bed, she heard Noah humming.

In the morning, Quinn awoke to Liza Marie's laughter as Noah roared while he chased her around the house. Soon, Noah chased Liza Marie into the bedroom, and Quinn yelled, "Hey!" and pointed to the door. Then Noah picked up Liza Marie, who was pouting at Quinn, and Quinn yelled, "Out, now!" as she continued to point at the door.

Soon, Liza Marie was in timeout after Quinn heard her running around again. Then Quinn tied Noah and Liza Marie's hands together. She yelled at Noah, "Puck, we have to set some rules here! Liza Marie could have hurt herself or worse last night!" Noah watched Liza Marie mock Quinn, and he chuckled, which made Quinn even angrier. Quinn stormed out and ended up in front of Kurt's grave.

Quinn broke down and whispered, "I can't do this, Kurt! Liza Marie should have gone back to Rachel! I can't take it anymore! I love Puck, but this is too much!" She soon heard My Little Girl playing on the radio in a car driving by. This made her chuckle.

Then she walked over to Elizabeth's grave and whispered, "Help me and Carole keep them in line. Watch over Liza Marie, too. I named my daughter after you. So, you better help me out here." A gust of wind almost knocked Quinn over before she went back home.

When Quinn returned, Liza Marie and Noah were asleep on the couch, and she saw a Swiss Army knife in Noah's jeans pocket. She also saw the dishwasher running and a pizza on the dining table. Then she found a note from Noah that read, "I'm sorry, babe. You're right; we need to set some rules for Liza Marie. But you have to remember that she is just a kid, babe. We can't be too strict all the time. I mean, life is short, babe."

Noah and Liza Marie soon awoke to the sound of cabinet doors slamming. Before Quinn shouted, "Liza Marie, where is my Dr. Pepper? I put it in the freezer last night, and now it's gone!" Noah just rolled his eyes and stormed out with Liza Marie in his arms.

Quinn found them in the park half an hour later. Noah pointed at the drink in Quinn's hand as he glared at her. Quinn sighed and said, "Yeah, I found it. I'm sorry, Puck." Noah moved away from Quinn and watched Liza Marie.

They ignored Quinn for the rest of the week. When Burt and Carole visited, Noah and Liza Marie were still ignoring Quinn. Then Burt asked, "What happened, Quinn?"

Quinn sighs and says, "I overreacted to a few things last week, and they won't forgive me."

Then Liza Marie yelled, "You tied our hands together and put us in time-out! And then you blamed me for taking your stupid drinks three times when you couldn't even find them! I told you I didn't take your stupid drinks, but you kept blaming me! Now I know why Dada and Papa only wanted Daddy to be my godfather!" Then she stomped on Quinn's foot and ran to Noah.

Quinn went to the bedroom and was followed by Burt. She threw a vase at the wall and yelled, "I have regretted giving up Beth for years. Then I found out I couldn't give Kurt the daughter he wanted! So, Rachel had to save the day again! I couldn't keep Finn; Rachel was there to save his heart! I gave Puck's daughter away, and Kurt gave him Rachel's daughter! I can't remember the last time we slept together!" Quinn soon stormed out of the room. Noah then grabbed her and put his forehead against hers as they slowly danced.
