Chapter 1: Exploring the World

Recap Start

"Naruto, by the time you listen to this projection of mine, I'll already be long gone from your world. I'm going, to be honest with you, when I originally came to this dimension it was for knowledge." She admitted. "Then I discovered Angels and all the other species and sought to conduct an experiment to see if I could corrupt a pure being. Thank you for being such a wonderful subject and helping me to learn some of the magic from your dimension, but the truth is my love for you was fake." She revealed. "I realized when you said you had something important to tell me that I needed to end it before it became more serious. Thank you for the love you gave me and for allowing me to corrupt you. It was a wonderful experiment but this is where we part ways." The projection ends and dissipates as he sees the smirk on the projection's face before finally fading out.

While he was having his world shatter around him, he never realized someone was watching the entire event play out with a smirk on their face... Feeling a dark energy signature appear behind him, Naruto turned around to see the face of one of his eldest brothers.

"The Morningstar" himself, Satan. Thinking he was here to kill, he prepared to go down fighting only for Satan to put his hands up in a show of peace.

"Little brother I saw what Father did to you, and how the woman you've given up everything for has decided to abandon you. But not I for as your elder brother I have to look out for the youngest, thus I offer you the chance to join my side. I'll convert your angelic blood into demonic blood and you'll be on even footing with me." He offered.

"My wife Lilith is producing devils for the war I have planned against our father and I want you with me. Your power is wasted in self-pity… So what do you say little brother?" he finishes while holding out his hand for Naruto to shake with a smile.

Recap End

Looking back and forth between his brother's eyes and the hand that was offered to him makes weighing his pros and cons heavy. After a few quick thoughts he had made his decision, he hoped his brother would understand and compromise about this deal.

"Brother, I won't accept your deal at this moment of the experience I've gone through. But give me a few years to find my stable ground and figure out what I wish to do with my life before I become a devil since our father didn't strip me of my immortality nor of my magic. Let me have time to come to terms with my situation and when I'm ready our deal will be struck and I'll allow you to turn me into a devil."- replied Naruto looking directly into his brother's eyes.

For a while, lucifer stood there contemplating the words his youngest brother had spoken to him, thinking about the outcome of agreeing to his brother's condition or if he should push the issue and try to force his brother into the deal. After a few more seconds of thinking he'd come to a decision.

"Very well little brother I'll allow you to spend as much time as you want amongst these humans our father favored so much, but when the time has come you will rip this little paper that you can't get rid of to signify that you're ready to accept my deal of becoming a true demon." holding out his hand for naruto to shake.

Surprised at how easily his older brother was willing to agree to the deal he'd proposed was a little shocking considering their father always said Lucifer was one of the most hard-headed angels ever to exist.

"Why are you agreeing to this so easily? Father always talked about you being hard-headed and one of his most unreasonable children, this doesn't make sense in the slightest. I'm not ungrateful for you agreeing but simply curious." Naruto asked his brother without taking his eyes off him.

Lucifer taking a moment to figure out how to respond decides with the truth, "There are things that Father hasn't told you about yourself that if you found would turn you against him and he wouldn't want that. I should know I was there after all when you were created, but that's a story for another time which I'll tell you after you join me and have changed yourself entirely" he said smiling without a care in the world like he was a cat that ate the canary.

Seeing that the conversation was made lucifer decided it was time to go before their father sent a couple of angels to harass him. " Do take care little brother and when you're ready to accept my offer remember…. All you have to do is rip that paper in half and it will alert me you've accepted" was heard amongst the wind as he vanished from sight.

Sitting there looking at the paper in his hands for a few more moments before deciding to go look for a town to rest in, noticing on the ground in front of him a bag with some coins in it and a note that read 'These should help you get by for a while until you can at least find something you'd want to do amongst the humans do be sure not to spend it all in one place. Good luck little brother' who knew Lucifer was kind to him when it came to the family this is surprising Naruto thought to himself before picking up the bag and feeling the weight knowing they'd last him a while.

Timeskip: 2 days later

Walking from some random clearing in the middle of the woods isn't as fun especially when you have no idea where you are. After walking and finding a forked path, he looked at the signpost pointing to the nearest town.

Arriving in town was a reward in itself even though the villagers looked at him with suspicion clear upon their faces considering a young man walked into their village with bright golden hair that looked as if the sun shined upon it, and whisker marks spread evenly on both sides of his face and a roguish grin on his face.

A group of armed men approaches Naruto cautiously with one man having his sword drawn, a man with a mustache and a serious look on his face steps in front of the men before clearing his throat and speaking with a deep voice…

"I am Sir Reginald Bixby and by my right, as the knight commander of the garrison here in this town I would like to know your name and reason for being in this place" Reginald spoke with his hand on his sheathed blade.

Naruto putting on his best calming smile responds " I am Nathaniel and I woke up in the forest clearing about two days from here I can't seem to recall much but seeing as I've got nowhere else to go my thoughts pertained to settling down here and seeing if the blacksmith here would be willing to take me as his apprentice especially since I heard the smith here is legendary for making true quality weapons."

The captain looked at him with suspicion and doubt on his face for a few moments before deciding the young man before he had no ill intentions towards the people of this village, feeling that he'd taken enough of Naruto's time he cleared his throat and said with a bit of mirth in his voice "very well, you'll find the blacksmith at the opposite end of the town just follow this road and you should see the sign but be warned the smith you're looking for hasn't taken an apprentice in many years good luck."

Seeing that he'd been given permission, Naruto continued on his way while smiling at the people he passed by.

After what he could assume was a few more minutes of walking, he finally found the building he was looking for but the humbleness of which how the establishment looked astounded him considering this man was a follower of his father a man his father had deemed pure in all intentions and served him, someone, who mastered the way of working both the fire and the earth whether it was farming, blacksmithing, captaining a ship. This man was the descendant of the original Moses who led the slaves from Egypt. Stepping up to the building Naruto raises his hand to knock on the door but before he can even make the first tap a gruff voice shouts to him.

"Lad if you are here to study under me then get lost I will never take an apprentice my way of working the metals and various materials of the earth will die with me, if you're here for a weapon then go get one from that dunderhead up the way I only make swords for those I find worthy of wielding them." was the shout from what sounded like the back of the story.

"I am here to learn under you, but before you think to deny me please allow me to explain my reason you're the only person who would believe me and could help me gain my footing by being among humans," Naruto responded with sincerity in his voice knowing this may be his only hope since he's in foreign territory.

Hearing the sound of heavy footsteps on the wooden floors walking toward his location and the vague outline of a tall shadow outline of a man coming through the doorway with an unimpressed look on his face.

"You must be deaf boy, didn't you hear a word I said!? I don't want any apprentice nor do I need one how about you get on your way before my boot finds its way up your ass and ye head decorates my shop" the man said while brandishing a blade glowing red hot showing that it had been pulled out the fire.

Seeing that the smith wasn't in a talking mood, naruto decided he would try again tomorrow but he wouldn't give up, Michael had pointed him in this direction and he was going to see it through until the end.

2 days later

Sleeping outside the shop near the woods wasn't how Naruto planned to spend his time but he needed to make a point that he wasn't leaving especially since his older brother guided him even though their father said he wasn't to get help.

Walking up to the blacksmith's shop and entering, Naruto shouts "I'm here again old man and I'm not giving up until you take me as an apprentice my brother sent me here to you for some reason and I will not leave until I figure out why." Crossing his arms and standing in defiance as he sees the outline of the smith in the doorway.

"Ye a stubborn boy I'll give ya that, but luckily the lord has come through for ye and even graciously explained small things about your situation to me so I'll help you out. But let me ask what ya did to be kicked from heaven?"

"Um, I practically gave up my position in heaven by falling in love with a woman from another dimension even though my father expressly forbid it and told me as such as his youngest son I thought that I'd be given leeway but even my father's patience has its limit" Naruto explained with his eyes closed.

Seeing the memory is painful for the boy, the smith decides it's time for him to get settled and begins his training. Taking a step forward into the light the smith is a tall man with dark skin, a shaved head, and a big beard wearing a standard blacksmith outfit with a tool belt carrying the tools of his trade.

"Alright boyo no need to start blubbering just trying to get a feel for ya is all but that's neither here nor there, best get ya things settled in that room there" pointing towards a room under the stairwell.

"Once you finished placing what little belongings ye have we'll have lunch, and then begins your smithing lessons be warned now I will not take it easy on ya whether your a former angel, a child of the lord, or even god himself you wished to learn from the best and that's what you'll get it. I want no complaints or whining". He stated with finality before proceeding towards the chicken to check on his lunch.

Walking towards what is meant to be his room he opens the door before seeing that it's not big but with a roof over his head, it's better than sleeping in the woods. Placing his bag on the floor, he sits on it and puts his hands on his face, thinking about all that led up to this moment and experiencing brief flashes of his time with Merlin before everything went to shit, as well as the look on his fathers face when he was kicking him out of heaven, the look of sadness upon Gabriel and Michaels faces when his sentence was decided.

*Bang, Bang, Bang*

Naruto jumped at the sound of pounding at the door before wondering how long he was lost in his memories, "Yes what is it?" he asked looking at the door with apprehension.

"You okay in there boyo, you've been in your room for quite a bit of time and I wanted to tell you that lunch is ready and come to get it, we'll be starting your blacksmith training right after so be sure to change into some comfortable clothes I've got an extra smock so don't worry about needing one."

"Yea I'm ok just getting a little lost in thought, I'll be out for lunch in a minute just gotta change my clothes" Naruto responded. Decided that'd he spent enough time mopping about his situation that he'd have more time to mope later, especially since *growl* his stomach was reminding him how long he was without food and to get some food. Slipping off his shirt, he changed into a cleaner tunic though its cleanliness wasn't much better than what he currently wore, after changing he walked to the bedroom door and opened it before proceeding to where he smelled food.

With the Blacksmith

Sitting at the table with an ink, quill, and piece of paper trying to figure out how he should write the letter to Lord Michael about him accepting his little brother as an apprentice and that he's in good hands.

'Lord Michael,

This is Andre. I'm writing to tell you that your brother has safely arrived in the village and even though I didn't give him the time of day you were right his stubbornness won him an apprenticeship, he was determined with it he never left his spot across the way from my shop through rainy days he just camped there and I've got the most curious thoughts about how a newly fallen angel was able to get a stocked pack of supplies consisting of a tent, a tool for starting fires, a change of outfits, and even a small pouch of currency but I digress. He's a curious one and I'll do my best to look after him while here and I won't tell him about the updates I'm sending to you. Regards Andre'

After writing the letter and rereading it to make sure it's both eligible and accurate, he wraps it up and continues eating his food knowing he'll drop it off at the small church in the center of town for the archangel to receive later getting up from the table he puts the letter away into a cabinet, Hearing footsteps coming toward his location he looks around to make sure the letter isn't visible.

"Well look at you boyo I thought you'd never leave that room and were planning to sulk for the rest of the day and miss both lunch and the start of training. Let me remind you that sulking will not be allowed while training with me I despise those who wallow in pity, another thing you will be expected to wake up early morning to help me prepare the forge and smithy for any orders that may come in throughout the day, besides learning the trade of blacksmithing you'll be expected to help clean up at the end of the day when we close the smithy, he paused to take a bite of his sausage while chewing he looks at Naruto to see him gathering some food on the plate himself before sitting down at the small table. Nodding his head he swallowed the food in his mouth before continuing with explaining more of the rules."

"Next set of rules is to stay out of trouble with the guards since I don't want to deal with them more than needed especially the captain, I'm assuming you met him when you first entered the town? That man is a pompous ass and is full of himself cause his father is the alderman. The next rule is if you plan to go to the pub or run any errands then I expect to be notified so that if something happens I know where to find you, and finally while teaching you how to smith I'll give you a modest pay so that you've got some coin in ya pocket to help you along the way any questions?" he asked having finished his plate of food and is staring at Naruto with a look of focus.

"I understand the rules, I want to thank you for accepting me as your apprentice as well as giving me a place to stay but I never got your name," Naruto asked, waiting for him to give it while continuing to eat his plate of food.

"My name is Andre lad, but you'll add Master to it before addressing me. Now finish your food and meet me in the smithy outside because we've got the rest of the day to begin your lessons" stated the man before getting up from the table, picking up his plate and utensils before carrying them to a bucket filled with water and walking out of the room.

Seeing that was all he was going to get at the moment, Naruto continued eating his food observing the moderately sized kitchen/dining room before looking out the window and seeing people walk by the building going about their everyday lives. Finishing up his food and getting up from the table and placing his plate and utensil in the same bucket Andre did he leaves the room and follows the sound of metal hitting metal, before arriving at the forge and seeing Andre fixing what looked like a blade.

"Good you finally finished and here I thought you were going to be at the table all-day, now begins your first lesson," Andre said not looking up from the blade he was hammering and getting back into proper condition.

Timeskip 2 years later

Time flew by quickly and Naruto quickly progressed in learning the blacksmithing trade, he was able to quickly rise to an adept level when it comes to smithing his learning prowess was such that it amazed Andre how quickly he learned. But blacksmithing wasn't the only thing he learned thanks to his sharp tongue he'd managed to get the innkeeper Hilda to teach him about managing a business, he remembered the look on Hilda's face when he won the bet, which had her teaching Naruto her trade.

Flashback

"Hilda! You've gotta teach me to how run a tavern, even though I'm learning under Andre and slowly learning his trade I want to be able to do more especially since life is unforgiving and I'd like to be a jack of all trades in case anything should happen or after finishing with Andre I want to leave and set out on my own." Naruto said while trying to talk Hilda into teaching him alongside what he's learning from the old smith.

"Listen to me brat I've got no interest in teaching ye, now shove off I've got customers to manage and your antics are bothering them, especially the alderman who I believe told you if you interrupted his drinking one more time he'd throw you in the stockade for a day and let the children throw vegetables at you," she said looking him straight in the eye while she was cleaning a mug.

Naruto realizing he wasn't gonna get anywhere with her looked around the room and spotted a group of men playing a game of chance, seeing a way to get what he wanted he offered Hilda.

"Hey Hilda, how about a game of chance you win and I'll quit bugging ya and even work here for a month for free but if I win then you have to teach me everything you know about running both a tavern and inn, what do you say? We got a deal?" he smiles at her.

Realizing what he's trying to do but feeling confident especially if it gets him out of her hair then she'll accept his bet despite her better judgment.

"Alright brat I'll accept your wager but if you lose I expect you to honor it ya hear otherwise you'll be getting a lecture right proper," she said with an angered look on her face.

Smiling at getting her to agree he walks over to the guys playing dice and asks to borrow their cups for a quick game, them seeing no harm in it allow him to do so while getting up to follow him wanting to see the outcome. Others are currently in the tavern hearing the bet and decide to come over and watch s both Hilda and Naruto begin to shake their cups filled with dice, Hilda drops slamming her cup down and lifting it up to reveal a pair of fives.

The spectators gasp at this knowing it's rare to ever get the dice pair to land that high, especially as a pair of fives.

"Ha take that ya brat, a pair of fives it'll be next to impossible to beat that you'd need the luck of the devil himself to even top it" she shouted with a smirk on her face knowing after this he'll never bother her again.

Naruto smirks back at her, knowing that the incredible luck he had as an angel stayed with him when he was cast out and that to bet against him was a fool's errand. After shaking his cup one last time he slams it down on the table before lifting it up to reveal a pair of sixes.

"I win, a bet is a bet You've got to teach me everything you know Hilda you can't back out of the deal," he says with a smile knowing that it really wasn't her fault but his luck is truly superior to most that gambling is nothing to him"

Flashback End

Since winning the bet, Hilda had been a woman of her word and taught Naruto all she knew about running a business, including managing money and an inn. She'd grown a soft spot for the young man who'd weaseled his way into her heart far more than anyone else even her own family.

Timeskip 4 years

The years passed and naruto grew into a mature young man, it was of course getting hard with keeping his secret about being immortal hard considering everyone around him had aged up more. Hilda had been almost pushing sixty and had been talked into retiring and allowing her daughter to run the inn in her stead, Andre that old man had finally passed on when Naruto had proven he had nothing left to learn and the old man had never been prouder of his apprentice.

"So are you planning to leave us, we won't have a blacksmith you know what will the guards do for sharpening their weapons or when the people need nails and the such"? Hilda's daughter asked Naruto who was gathering up any supplies he couldn't afford or didn't wish to leave behind seeing as he wouldn't be coming back ever as well as taking up his older brother's deal.

"No there's nothing left for me to learn here and it's about time I get moving on, Andre's grandson will be here in a couple of weeks to take over his forge and make sure the town has what's needed. Besides I don't think the baron will tolerate my presence much longer after the thrashing I gave his son when he tried groping, if he's not after me for that then it'd be for the disrespect I've shown him when he comes to town and Andre isn't here to offer protection." He said after he finished packing the rest of his things and putting them on his horse's saddle.

Sighing she looks at him with a bit of sadness on her face, "Suppose there's no chance of talking you outta leaving so I'll leave you with this was a letter Andre left for ya that was supposed to be given when you decided to leave." She said placing something in his hand before she turned around and walked back towards the inn humming a merry tune along the way.

Looking at the letter in his hand, Naruto smiles slightly before sealing it away using his magic making a mental note to read it later, he mounts his horse and with a light crack on the reigns, the horse proceeds forward following the trail as his master guides him along.

2 Weeks Later

Naruto had forgotten what it was like to spend time on the road, but that's to be expected considering how long he spent with a roof over his head. Following a small path that led to a clearing he decided that it was time to take Lucifer up on his offer since he doesn't want to keep putting off his revenge for long.

Ripping the paper in two, both sides burst into flames before a magic sigil appears in front of him. The sigil is a silver-colored four-winged bat with two devil horns on its head, out of it steps a middle-aged man in his 40s with silver hair and red eyes wearing what looked to be armor with a mostly silver/red-colored scheme he looked around to see who had summoned him, after doing a quick sweep his eyes landed on Naruto and a smile came to his face.

"Little brother nice of you to finally contact me it has been quite a while since I've last seen you, allow me to get a good look at you. You've certainly taken to look like our beloved father it's quite interesting because upon being summoned I mistook you for him but that's neither here nor there, so tell me are you ready to accept my offer"? He asked with a smile on his face.

Looking at his older brother for a moment, Naruto saw in those eyes that he can't be trusted and that he was hiding something but knew that accepting this deal would be for the best since he'd need all the help he could get in achieving his dream against Merlin.

"I'll accept it since I haven't got any other plans to figure out at the moment and with Father sealing away most of my abilities I need a new beneficiary to lend me a helping hand, but if I do this no innocence is to be killed and you'll uphold your end of the agreement and help me figure out dimensional travel, do we have a deal?" he asked holding out his hand for Lucifer to shake while looking him in the eyes.

Lucifer took a moment to go over the positives and negatives before looking into his brothers' eyes and seeing the seriousness in them, deciding he has nothing to lose and everything to gain he shakes the hand thus signifying a pact that can't be broken.

Little did he know this spot was chosen specifically for the meeting as it was a spot that had a leyline which was also connected to the old magic, making the pact become bound in the laws of the very universe and magic.

"Now then little brother, wear this ring on your hands at all times while in the underworld since it will take time for you to adapt to the conditions which will present themselves I'm glad you picked my side I see a great many things ahead of us and together we'll both have our revenge against those who've wronged us," Lucifer said as he leads Naruto towards the sigil that will take them to the underworld and to where his new life would begin.

A/N: I wanna thank everyone who follows this story and has been waiting for this chapter, honestly I've been procrastinating the ever-living hell outta writing this chapter and I finally decided to just finish it. I'm posting this chapter just the way it is so that y'all can enjoy it please leave any feedback on the story and don't be afraid to critique in your review after all, you the readers' input on my writing and vocabulary helps improve my writing prowess.

Also unrelated but Hunt, Kurama will no longer be on hiatus as soon as I can figure out where I was going with the story and can get that train back on track it'll be updated I just don't know when since everything will get its due. The next chapter will be short and it'll be an interlude that will only cover Naruto's arrival in the underworld, the preparations for him transforming into a devil, and then a small time skip.
