Perplexed. That's how Law feels. It's strange, because Law has never felt this way before – not really, until now.

"Like I said, Roger has left his crown to the two of you, and that is why I am calling you both by your respective titles," Carna explained once again, for the umpteenth time.

"So, I've been king this whole time...?" Luffy mumbled, looking completely out of it.

"You have, Your Majesty." Carna smiled, a tender look on her face.

"This is fucking insane..." Law said, taking a minute to unscramble his brain. "You're telling me... That Mugiwara-ya and I are supposed to fight a god in order to save some kingdom we had no literal idea of until we somehow time traveled? And we're... by some means, partcipating in a dual monarchy over your people, because of that...?"

She smiled down at him and said, "Exactly."

Law, upon awakening on his home island, definitely wasn't expecting anything like this. He'd been trekking through the forest with no idea why he was so far in it or what he'd been doing when he was this age to even be in it, and he couldn't help but wonder if he should have accepted this crazy woman's offer in the first place. Now, he was regretting it big time; his brain felt like it was frying. Things began to change around him out of nowhere, and now he was standing in front of this fucking giant of a woman, being told what to do and all of this information that he could barely process at once.

I should of just died. Law sighed, furrowing his brows. On top of all this, doing anything with Mugiwara-ya always ends in disaster. I've learned that the hard way.

Luffy suddenly started to laugh, grabbed his straw hat and took it off, and Law began to think that this man was a damned psychopath. How could he be laughing of all things?

As if on cue with Law's thoughts, Luffy bounced on his heels, pumped his fist upward in excitement, and exclaimed, "Ha! In your face, Shanks! I'm gonna beat the shit out of this Maggot guy, and then I'll be the Pirate King and find you! This is so fun!"

Both Carna and Law blinked, looks of "what-the-hell" and "I-wasn't-expecting-that" wiped across both of their faces.

Trafalgar's brain was left to stagger by such a comment. "You're not...actually being serious, right? Look, whatever you have between you and Shanks, can't it be solved some other way?" he asked. "We literally don't even know this woman."

He wasn't even surprised that Mugiwara-ya had picked a fight with another Yonko; he was just baffled that it was the calmest one out of all of them. What on Earth had he done to make even Akagami no Shanks mad?

Luffy huffed. "What?! But Carna's my nakama! She even gave me meat!"

Law, again, was astonished at this man's logic. "Nakama? Do you really only think with your stomach...?"

"Huh? Stomachs aren't for thinking, silly!" Luffy laughed. "I think with my brain!"

Law decided to simply shake his head at Luffy's antics instead of respond, sighing deeply and leaning more heavily on Kikoku than he'd ever done before as a faithful cane. He'd like to think he'd still have brain cells left in his old age (if he ever lived long enough to get old), but with Luffy-ya around, that would be nearly impossible. Looks like being a king was going to be very tiring.

"So, Carna, was it?" Law stared toward the giant in question, who was watching them bicker with a smile on her face. "What if we refuse to save your kingdom, and refuse to be your... leaders? Did you ever consider that?"

Carna sat herself down on a very large chair, looking around the room in thought. She crossed her legs as she looked back at Trafalgar, sucking in a deep breath.

"I supposed I never thought you would refuse to, for Roger prophesied it. But...," she tapped her fingers on the chair's armrest. "If you were to, we all definitely would either be enslaved or dead by Magmus's hands after a war for our lives, and Roger would definitely curse you."

Luffy's eyes widened as he tilted his head. "Wow! Dead people can do that? I hope I'll be able to do that when I die!"

The boy laughed as he placed his hand on his stomach, and Carna resisted the urge to pat him on the head. She was growing fond of him quite quickly, she realized. Though, she could always expect the best from Roger; he had given their people a promising and joyful king, even after his death.

Trafalgar stared at Luffy, the boy's comment having inadvertently planted a morbid thought in his head.

"Mugiwara-ya, I swear if you end up dying from fighting someone or just doing something stupid in general, I will snatch your soul right out of the air and put it back into your body, you bastard," he cursed, swinging his sheathed sword left and right against the ground a couple of times. "After all the shit I've gone through dealing with your ass, you better not die."

Looking up at him and giggling even harder, Luffy slapped his hand on Trafalgar's back. "I'll try not to, Torao! I promise!"

Law growled, correcting Luffy while giving him a stern look. "You won't try, dumbass. You will."

Both of them heard muffled laughter coming from Carna as she stepped closer. She pulled a book off a small shelf and opened it on a table that Law could have sworn hadn't been there before. Maybe this place was some kind of witch tavern.

"You two are the most adorable human beings I've seen in a while, but we still need to discuss some things." She said.

Law narrowed his eyes and ignored the small comment the giantess had made, exhaling a little too loudly as he looked to the book laid out before him and Luffy.

"There is only one thing that can defeat Magmus." She pointed at the paper.

"One thing? You mean I can't just kick his ass?" Luffy asked, again tilting his head.

"Seeing as how he's a god, Mugiwara-ya, you could probably assume he's more powerful than any regular human," Law responded matter-of-a-factly. "Not that you're at all regular..."

Luffy pouted and crossed his arms. "But I've already beaten God before! What's so different about this Maggot guy?"

"It is Magmus, Your Majesty," Carna corrected. Although she slightly snickered at the mishap. "The 'god' you fought, Enel, was merely a highly powerful human pretending to be someone who should be worshiped."

After Luffy had told the woman not to call him 'Your Majesty,' Law screwed his face up in confusion. "Hold on, what? Since when did Mugiwara-ya fight God, or Enel, whoever that is? Why have I never heard of this 'God'?"

"Oh!" Luffy shouted. "Torao doesn't know that yet! We met after that. There was this guy on a sky island who said he was God or something, and he had lightning powers, but I kicked his ass 'cause I'm rubber!"

Luffy grabbed his cheeks and stretched them outward, a big smile on his face.

Law blinked. "A sky island?"

"Shishishi! Yeah! It was really cool! Once me and Sanji and Ussop thought we were gonna fall off of it, but we were fine!" The strawhatted teen exclaimed, showing no surprise at all at the fact he'd been to an island in the sky.

Law shook his head. "I should have expected something this crazy from you."

Carna again pointed at the book laid out in front of Luffy and Law, a picture of a stone block with encrypted writing etched into it on all of its sides was shown on the paper. "Back to this..."

Law examined what she was pointing at, the writing on the block in some foreign language and the book's pages faded. "What is that?"

"This is Aneta Moudiasmenos," Carna said. "It is one of our most powerful weapons, and the only one I can think of that would be able to defeat Magmus."

"A... ne... ta? Mooduvama-what?!" Luffy muttered to himself, trying to practice the name in order to say it correctly.

"Aneta Moudiasmenos, sir." She said slowly, dragging out each syllable. "There is a... small problem though."

Law pursed his lips and laid his sword beside him before sitting in front of the table. He touched the fragile pages of the book and squinted at them to get a better look. "What exactly is the problem?"

...

"I lost some of it, long ago, before Roger appeared."

...

"You're kidding me." He said.

She replied, "I am not."

Law blanched. "You lost our only chance at beating this egotistical God?"

Carna looked down at the floor, clasping her hands guiltily. "I'm sorry, Your Majesty..."

Law was about to tell her not to call him that when Luffy just took hold of his straw hat and shrugged. "Meh, what's the stupid block gonna do anyway? Beating his ass with Torao sounds more fun to me."

Carna sighed. "The block can take control of all five senses of any one person, and can completely hypnotize them." She continued, "Nobody can resist the hypnosis, so in battle, you'd be able to catch Magmus off-guard and defeat him with no trouble as long as you're careful."

Law thought for a moment. Fighting a god and winning definitely seemed like a hefty task, and having something like this block did sound like it would be beneficial to them if they were going to go through with this. He would just have to be the one to use it though, because Luffy-ya by far was anything but careful. He just wondered where they were going to find it.

"Mugiwara-ya." Law said. "Sometimes it's not about what's more fun. We have no idea what kind of powers this Magmus has or even how powerful he is, and I don't exactly want to have to fill in for your doctor again..."

Luffy smiled calmly at him, almost endearingly. "You would, though, if you had too, wouldn't you?"

Law stared at the grinning sunshine in front of him for a minute, the boy's smile soon proving to be contagious as it spread across his face as well in a lower intensity. "I suppose I would."

The teenager laughed. "Even if it's just a scratch?"

Law muttered, "I guess, yeah." as he grabbed the visor of his spotted hat, pulling it over his face.

Carna observed the aura between the two, a mushy feeling in her stomach as she watched the younger smile up at the older in a warm-hearted way. They seemed sort of inseparable, to her, which was mostly true, given what she had heard from Mallory while she sent her daughter to search for their prophesied kings; their two crews always traveled together. Maybe this was why Roger wanted them both to be king, because he knew beforehand that maybe one wouldn't be able to rule without the other?

How wholesome. Internally, Carna giggled.

Law adjusted his hat back into place. "I'm assuming you want us to go out and find this thing, right?"

"If it isn't a problem, sir," She said while smiling sheepishly, reminding herself of her past mistakes in losing the item and remembering a particular detail she hadn't mentioned yet. "Oh, right, not just the whole thing, by the way, but its pieces. They've been scattered around the world. I don't doubt that the World Government has gotten their hands on a few parts of it."

"What?!" exclaimed Luffy. "But looking for stuff is boring! Why can't you do it? Didn't you lose them?"

Law sighed for the millionth time since he'd been here. "So we have to find pieces of an ancient weapon, steal them from the World Government, and then put them all back together so we can defeat a god? This sounds like something Mugiwara-ya's brother was assigned to do..."

Luffy stared up at Law and then chuckled. "Shishi! Yeah, it kind of does! Sabo's so cool!"

Carna smiled and held up her pointer finger. "I do have one piece of it, though, so I guess that makes it easier on you two. I suppose Roger did practically tell the entire world that, before he died, so, you already know that."

Luffy stood and blinked at Carna, and then at Law. "Wait...?"

Law blinked back at Mugiwara. "That's what he meant?"

"Mhm," said Carna. "Roger was always so clever in the way he worded things! Though sometimes I wonder if he was being intentionally confusing."

"That's fucking crazy..." Law replied.

"Wait, but..." said Luffy, pausing. "That's actually so cool, because that means if you find the One Piece, then you have even more adventures finding the other pieces! You never run out of cool things to do!"

"The things normal people don't know..." Law muttered to himself. "So... where is it then? The piece, I mean."

Carna sat for a moment, and then picked up the book, closed it, and got up to put it back, or at least that was what Law thought she was doing. Instead, the book quite literally poofed into a... skeletal-looking key? It looked like it was made out of someone's bones.

Luffy gasped, suddenly laughing. "That's so awesome! A magic book!"

The bone key had a dark brown thread wrapped around the loop of it, and Law assumed that it was so it could be worn as a necklace. His asumptions were proven as truths when Carna hung the key around his neck, with Luffy's own complaints about wanting to wear it too.

"Uhm…" Trafalgar picked the key off his bare chest, inspecting it. "So, what does this go to?"

Carna took the key from his hands, runing her fingertips along it's ridges. "This was made from my husband's remains, as he wanted it to be."

Oh, well, great. I'm wearing some dead guy's bones. That's totally not creepy. Law thought, holding back a shiver.

Carna continued, "I have locked the piece away somewhere very hard to find, in fear that I might lose it again, but that won't be a problem for you, since you have me to tell you where it is. This key is to the place I have hidden it."

The giantess then set the bone key in Luffy's hand, who wanted to hold it as well. The teen mentioned that it reminded him of his crew's musician. "I did it this way so you would have your hands on both the key and the book at the same time," she said. "Since you need the book to figure out what the pieces look like and if you're looking at the real thing. Also, if you want to switch the key into a book again, just say my name. It'll transform."

Ah, that's understandable.

"After you find a piece, I want you to bring it back to where I've hidden the one I have, and lock it up, so it's safe, Again, I don't want to repeat the same mistake." Carna repeated.

"Alright," Law said. "But, since we are... well, younger and all due to the time travel, how exactly do you expect us to set sail in order to find the pieces?"

Luffy looked up at Carna curiously, also definitely wondering how that was going to be pulled off. He couldn't set sail when he was only ten years old, and Ace would be worried...

Right after Law asked the question, a blur of light turned into two chain bracelets on both Law and Luffy's wrists.

"More jewlery?" Law asked as Luffy eagerly inspected his new chain.

"Those are the chains I have made that will sustain your current, older forms," Carna explained. "I made them into jewlery so you could keep them on you. Obviously, if you take them off, you'll turn back. Just make sure not to lose them. I can't make any more."

"That's super cool! But, one question!" Luffy interjected. "Are you some kind of god too, by the way?"

Luffy played with the chain on his wrist as he waited for an answer while Carna blinked at the question. She rested her hands clasped together on her lap, like a proper lady, trying to figure out if she should tell them or not. Surely, Roger would be disappointed in her if she didn't trust them, but her species has a hefty price on it, and Carna couldn't help but feel a bit scared after being sold once or twice in her younger days.

"Haha... well... I'm not a god," she said. "But I'm... I'm a fairy."

A pair of fluorescent wings, as large as she was, opened up behind her, sparkling brighter than any star Luffy had ever seen, and making both him and Law speechless.

"Wow..." Luffy murmured as he leaned against Law to get a better view. "They're so pretty!" He said, admiring the scene. "You're kind of big to be a fairy though... Aren't fairies supposed to be small, like dwarves?"

Law just stood and stared, not exactly minding the boy invading his space. "So, are you pulling my leg or were those really there the entire time? I didn't see them once when you happened to turn around."

Carna laughed, suddenly relieved by their carefree attitude about her revealing her species. She supposed she had been worrying for nothing.

"Ah, yes," she said. "They were there. I can just conceal them with my magic if I wish to do so. As for my size, I am a mix of a giant and a fairy, which makes me even rarer..."

"Wow!" Luffy looked astonished. "How does that work?"

"I am not sure," she said, laughing awkwardly and rubbing her neck. "But I suppose it did happen, though! Afterall, I am here."

Law asked himself, "How many crazy things will I hear or see today?"

"I hope we see a lot, Torao! I'm gonna tell my crew and your crew all about it when we get to them! Shishishi!" Luffy whole-heartedly laughed as he enveloped Law's arm with his rubber ones.

"I'll add you to my list of insane things I've seen today then." Law said, avoiding looking in the direction of Luffy's face.

Luffy gasped. "You're gonna tell them cool things about me too, Torao?! You're so funny! Thanks!"

Law choked, "What?! I didn't say that!"

Carna gave them a fond look, smiling to the edges of her face, her wings fluttering as they usually did when she was this happy. She hadn't been this happy in a while, dealing with all the stress of Magmus and prophecies galore. These two were great to watch! If only she had her favorite snack.

After the surgeon had finally pried the rubber boy off of him, he looked toward Carna. "Are we going to go find those pieces now?"

The fairy nodded her head. "All that I need to do is return you to your original places, and provide you both with ships so you can start traveling. I can't imagine where you two would get your hands on boats."

Luffy laughed, but then he suddenly remembered something. "What are we going to do about... Ace?"

Law tensed at the mention of Mugiwara-ya's brother, knowing that that was a sore subject.

Carna sat, thinking. "Uhm, I'll deal with him! Just don't let him see you in your older form."

"Oh, alright," he said. "I just need to take the bracelet off to be younger again, right?"

"Precisely," said Carna, smiling down at the pair. "Ready to go back?"

Luffy put both his hands on his hips, laughing, while Law threw Kikoku over his shoulder, shaking his head at the younger's childishness. "We're ready, I'm assuming Mugiwara-ya is unable to do anything other than laugh though, so he won't answer you."

"Alright... uhm... behave? I guess," Carna blushed, embarrassed by her unprofessional wording.

Law actually laughed along with Luffy at her embarassment, Carna apologizing for her behavior, and as she returned them to their original islands on their coasts, a promised boat nearby, she began to miss them. Luffy's carefree and goofy attitude was definitely one she could love, along with Trafalgar's shock when Mugiwara would do something out of pocket. Carna hoped that she could see them both again soon...

"Sir!" Several of his fleeting underlings portrayed themselves before him, some sweating under his gaze.

"Do not call me 'sir,' peasants," he said, hissing the word out in disgust. "You are to refer to me as your king."

He scoffed, terrifying the underlings as his exposed bones shone brightly like a gleam on a blade. "Care to enlighten me on what you desire to see me for?"

"We have bad news, sir!" one of them exclaimed, shivering. "The mother and the daughter! They found them!"

A moment of silence ensued, until their king spoke again. "You're talking about Carna and that insolent rat Mallory, I suppose?"

"Yes, sir!"

He sneered as he tapped his long, sharp nails upon his armrest. "What exactly, or should I say who exactly, have they found?"

The underlings gulped, looking at one another to see who would dare speak up.

"The kings, Your Majesty. The ones that he spoke of." the peasant murmured, staying very quiet for seconds afterward as if mentioning him would be practically sinful. "They're real..."

Silence, until...

"Roger?! That bastard?!" He shouted, the ground shaking beneath him as he stood up out of his throne.

"Yes, Your Majesty!" They all replied out of fear.

"I see..." The king let the words slip from his mouth sharply, a shadow upon his face as he swore he would not allow anybody to take his throne from him again. "Kill them."

All the underling's eyes widened, and whispers filled the room until one of them finally asked, "Kill who, Your Majesty?"

The king furrowed his brows in irritation. "These kings that he spoke of, you idiots! Who else?! In fact, no one shall be called king except me! I'll call them rats."

The enraged king threw a glass across the room, which shattered loudly against a wall. Breathing heavily, he continued, "Kill everyone who even associates with them, and dare defies me in doing so!"

"Yes, Your Majesty!" The underlings bowed and saluted, running off down the hall presumably to inform everyone else of the King's orders.

The King scoffed, "Tch... Curse you, Roger!"

Yay! Chapter 2 is now out! I'm so excited. I slipped in some little sparks between Law and Lu, and Carna noticed, hehe. I hope this chapter was enjoyable, and there are still more secrets to come (even though there were so many already revealed, I have a lot planned for this book haha!). I'm deciding to add a fantasy tag to this story because I feel like it fits. I need to add more tags anyway. Thanks for reading, and I hope to see you read future chapters and appreciate your support. Btw, I crossposted this on AO3 and Wattpad lol, so check them out there for me, please! Bye!
