AN: Wow thank you for all the comments! I'm glade everyone is enjoying the story.
GeorgiaSuzy. You asked about Nobody But You. I think I've decided to rewrite it. I wrote myself into a corner with it and I'm stuck. It won't be anytime soon. I discovered I can't multitask writing. So as soon as I finish Made for Each other I'll go back to that one.
this Chapter contains lots of adult content and a tiny bit of violence.
Flashback*
Sookie raced down the highway trying to put as much distance as possible between her, Eric, and the vampire Thalia. Eric was ashamed of her, that's all there was to it. It hurt. He was her whole entire existence and he wouldn't even let her finish the job he paid her to do if his vamp friends were around. Sookie swerved into the other lane, cutting off an 18-wheeler. She barely made it over before he hit the horn. Sookie's phone rang. She looked down in the seat and saw Eric's name and picture on the display. She rolled the window down and threw the phone out of the window. She swerved back into the other lane, cutting off a cop this time. Blue lights immediately lit up the inside of Eric's corvette. Sookie hit the steering wheel and pulled over into a gas station. The cop car was right behind her.
"Oh shit!" Sookie said out loud. The officer was a middle aged man. He looked as mean as his mind sounded. Sookie rolled down her window, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"Ya was a driving a bit fast back there weren't ya?" The cop had a heavy southern accent. Sookie nodded. "Yes sir, I was I just got back into town and I was on my way home. I was upset about something. That's not an excuse." Sookie sobbed.
"I followered ya from that vamp bar a few miles back. You ain't been a drinking hav ya?" Sookie shook her head no.
"No sir, I work there, my fiancé owns the bar." Sookie sobbed.
"Let me see yer license and registration." Sookie handed him the documents with shaky hands. He studied them.
"Ma'am would ya please step on out of the car and get on the ground and place yer hands above yer head?" Sookie froze.
"On what grounds?" Sookie asked, trying to keep the fear from over taking her.
She heard it in his head. He was going to arrest her no matter what.
"Let's see, reckless driving, yer license expired two days ago and the car doesn't belong to you."
"It's my fiancé's car." Sookie said, knowing it wouldn't do any good. She slowly got out of the car. She got down on the pavement on her knees and put her hands over her head. The position caused her already short dress to rise up. She heard him checking her out in his mind. The cop could see the bottoms of her thong. He learned over her, placing his knee in the small of her back and pushing her the rest of the way into the concrete. He handcuffed her and pulled her to her feet.
"Can I just call my fiancé? He'll tell you the car is his." Sookie cried as he threw her roughly in the back seat.
Two hours later, Sookie sat in the corner of a cell. It was cold and drafty and she was freezing. She had cried until she had made herself sick. She had asked for her lawyer and her phone call and they had refused her both so far. Eric was going to be furious with her. She didn't know what they had done with his car.
She jumped when she heard a door slam. A very scared officer and a very pissed off Eric Northman stopped in front of her cell.
"Open it!" Eric said in a very low, deadly voice. The cop struggled with the lock until he got it. Eric rushed in and gathered Sookie in his arms.
He took off his leather coat and wrapped it around her. She cried in the crook of his neck.
"I'm so sorry. I was so stupid." Eric kissed the top of her head.
"It's ok I'm here." He said very tenderly. He glared at the cop and stood up with Sookie.
"I'm taking her home. If you have any further questions or concerns contact our attorney." Eric handed the cop a card and walked past him. Sookie saw the arresting officer on the way out. He stopped them.
"Ma'am I'm truly sorry about this misunderstanding. You were confused with someone else." The officer lied. Sookie looked at him for just a minute. The whole front of his uniform was covered in pee. Sookie looked at Eric and he raised his eyebrows. He never said another word. He carried Sookie to the car. He sat her down in the front seat and kneeled in front of her.
"Are you hurt?" He said looking her over.
"No, just embarrassed. They towed your car." Sookie said, sobbing again.
"It's fine, it's been handled. You will be getting a public apology and half of this department is going to be replaced. " Eric got in the driver's seat and cranked the car to leave.
"What happened." He asked once they were on the road.
"I was such an idiot. I was upset when I left the bar." Sookie told him the entire story. He continued driving them home. He was as still as a statue.
"Why were you upset when you left?" Eric asked. Sookie reached for his hand and held it firmly to her chest.
"Are you ashamed of me or something?" Sookie asked, maybe it would be easier to just rip off the bandaid. Eric slammed on breaks to keep from missing their driveway. He turned in and the car came to a screeching halt. He looked at her.
"Why would you think that?" Sookie began to cry.
"When that vampire told you she smelled me… I felt it Eric… you were pissed…and you just brushed me off after that… you sent me home… like I was going to embarrass you or something. Do you realize the only other vampires you've ever introduced me to are Godric and Longshadow and even Longshadow was an accident. Am I that big of a secret? You're my whole world. You're involved in every aspect of my life and you have this whole other life that I know nothing about. You're holding back Eric!" Sookie sobbed into her hands and got out of the car. "I'm going to call Jason to come and get me." Sookie grabbed her engagement ring and took it off. She pushed it against Eric's chest and ran into the house to call Jason. Eric was still standing there watching her. Her heart felt like it was shattering as she dialed Jason's number. Just before she put in the last number the phone receiver was yanked from her hand and slammed down. Eric grabbed her by the shoulders and spun her around to face him. He gently cupped her face in his palms.
"Sookie, look at me." He said calmly. Her eyes reluctantly met his.
"We're only going to have this conversation once and then if you still want to leave I won't try to stop you." Eric let her go but kept eye contact.
"I am not ashamed of you. Sookie, Thalia is over 1200 years old. Her sense of smell is better than any vampire I know. I got you out of there because I don't trust my ability to keep you safe from other vampires. Thalia is an ally but the ones that were coming next were not. The three of them drained a couple of women in Bossier City. I didn't want you anywhere around them. She said she smelled you in the parking lot. Sookie, I'm selfish. I love you with my entire existence but I have nothing to offer you except death. I can't give you children. I can't ever walk in the sun with you. I'm not ashamed of you, I want to tell the entire universe that you are mine. But maybe we should call this off. You can have a wonderful life, find someone else that can give you a family." Eric leaned over and kissed the top of her head.
"I love you with all I am, and I always will but I want you to have a normal life." Eric turned to walk away. Sookie grabbed him by the arm.
"Eric! Don't you dare turn this around on me!" Sookie yelled, hitting his chest with her fist.
"I don't even want kids! I love you so much it hurts! Have you seen the way women look at you? Do you even pay attention? All I hear from all these other beautiful women is how good they think my fiancé would be in bed! And then you're around them every night while I sit home and wait for you! You keep that whole part of yourself a secret from me!" Sookie sobbed. Eric grabbed her by the back of the head and kissed her passionately.
"Please don't leave." He whispered against her lips. He cupped her face in his hands. "I don't even see other women. You're it for me. I keep that part of myself closed off from you because I'm afraid you'll see the real me and run. I just want to keep the violence and all the death as far away from you as possible." Sookie kissed him back and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"You really don't want kids?" Eric asked her between kisses as he slipped the ring back on her finger. Sookie shook her head no.
"I'm too afraid I'll be like my mom. Or they would be like me. It's not something I want to risk." Eric lifted her up in his arms. The tiny dress she was wearing rode up to her hips. Eric carried her to the nearest bed and threw her on it. He unzipped his pants and pushed them down to his ankles. He grabbed Sookie by her hips and pulled her down to the edge of the bed. He grabbed the shoulder straps of her tiny dress and pulled them down under her breast. He leaned over her and kissed her breasts through the red lace bra. He ran his fingers through her slick folds until she was wet enough to take him. He rested her legs on his chest and used her breasts as leverage to take her hard and fast. She cried out in ecstasy as she came.
"Never." He grunted. "Never… you're… nothing… like… her…" Eric slammed in her over and over again, as his fingers found her clit. He rubbed small circles around her clit. Each thrust was painfully slow but hard. Sookie threw her head back. Just before she came he pulled out of her and flipped her over. She crawled on the bed, her ass in the air. He slapped her ass, leaving his hand print. Eric took her hard and fast. She came hard and fell face first on the mattress. Eric grabbed her by the hips with both hands. He fucked her right through her orgasm and into another one. It was that passionate primal sex that gave her no doubts she was the only one. Eric flipped her over on her back.
"Open your eyes Lover." He said, slowing down, to a deep and hard thrust. She opened her eyes to his blue eyes.
"Watch me fuck you." He said as his thumb began rubbing circles on her clit faster than the human eye could see. Sookie watched him slide in and out of her. Her mouth was frozen in a silent scream.
"Do you like that? Watching my big dick slip in and out of your tight pussy." She came again, soaking Eric and the bed. Her pussy clenched tightly. He spilled his release deep inside of her. Sookie saw stars then everything went black.
Sookie woke up later that night in their bed. Eric was holding her on his chest. His big, strong arms were holding her tightly. He was running his fingers through her hair.
"Was I too rough with you?" Eric asked, with concern in his voice.
"Hush! That was amazing." Sookie said, with a laugh, pushing herself up to kiss him.
"I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me. I know you love me. Can I blame it on jet lag?" Sookie said, kissing him again.
"Do you really not want children?" Eric asked, pulling her in his arms.
Sookie touched her head. "I wouldn't want to pass my telepathy on. You have no idea how hard it was for me before I met you. I wouldn't want to pass that on. I don't know how to be a mother. My own mother hated me." Sookie sobbed. Eric held her while she cried.
"Besides, if we really wanted a child there are other ways to have one. We could adopt or use IVF." Sookie said, wiping her tears. "All I really want is you."
Eric kissed her softly.
"I just don't ever want you to feel like you're missing out on something because you're with me."
end flashback*
"Godric? What happened? How?" Sookie asked, flabbergasted. She wasn't sure what to say.
"Let's get him upstairs and I'll explain to you what I think is going on."
Godric picked Eric up so he could get him upstairs to bed. "Sookie, big, deep breaths." Pam said. Sookie looked at Pam. "The bond is gone!" Sookie cried. Pam held on to Sookie and helped her to the safe room behind Eric and Godric. She was having a full blown panic attack.
"It's not gone, Sookie, it's just muted. Technically, you don't have a vampire to be bonded to. Trust me it's not gone." Godric said.
Once they were secure inside the safe room, Godric sat Eric down on the bed. He took Sookie firmly by her shoulders and pulled her in a tight hug.
He thought of her as a daughter.
"I'm sorry Sookie, I underestimated them. It's going to be alright, it's just magic. We'll get it sorted out. Pam. I need you to run downstairs and get the first aid kit. He has it in the kitchen under the sink." Pam didn't waste any time doing what Godric asked her.
Sookie sat beside Eric on the bed and traced his lips with her thumb. His eyes flew open and he looked at her.
"You're so beautiful." He told her with a smile. "Please don't cry." Eric sat up with a big groan. He wiped her tears away with his thumb. "Be careful. You were shot." Sookie cried, helping him sit up. She got behind him and let him lean against her body. Eric laid back against her chest and looked up at her.
"I'm alright lover. I feel fine now. I think I was healed from the gunshot before she cursed me." Sookie threw her arms around him. He held her tight.
"I've got to return to Fangtasia and look through some books. We need to break this curse before the fairies find out or worse. The Authority. Just stay here. Both of you. I'll call and check in when I rise tomorrow." He looked directly at Sookie.
"Sookie, you and Eric are bonded. It's possible you may experience some sickness. The bond is confused. I hope this will be resolved before then. If you start to feel ill you must tell me at once." Sookie nodded. Eric looked at Godric alarmed. "Don't worry about it yet. We're going to fix this." Godric promised. "Godric, it'll kill her. She's had a lot of my blood. But you know as good as I do that won't be enough." Eric said, running his hand up her back and squeezing her shoulder. "We won't let it come to that." Godric promised, making eye contact with Eric and nodding his head. He left them shortly after Pam got back with the first aid kit and everyone was sure Eric had no fatal wounds.
"What was he talking about Eric?" Eric looked down at her and kissed her softly.
"You are so beautiful." He whispered again for the second time, smiling at her. Sookie held on to his shoulders. "The bond isn't going to be able to locate me. You know how you can feel what I feel? Normally, you have just a fraction of that magic in you that creates it. But the majority of it is in me. It's how I can track you. If the bond can't find the vampire the human starts to get larger and larger doses of the vampire magic. But your heart can't handle that kind of magic. It will make you very sick. Fever, sweats, hallucinations… death. I swear Sookie, we won't let that happen." Eric wrapped his arms around her and pulled her against him.
"How long do I have?" She asked, running her hand up his chest to the bloody bullet hole over his heart. "Maybe a week before the fever starts. It won't take that long to break this curse. Godric will call in another witch if he has to or if it truly was our only option he would turn you." He brushed her hair off her face. "What about the AVL?" She asked. Eric sighed. "That's the work around I was telling you about earlier. The mandate only said that I can't turn you. There aren't to many vampires that are going to want to be on Godric's bad side." Eric said, twirling her hair around his fingers. "You got dressed to go out with me?" Eric said, taking in her clothes and makeup. "You didn't get Pam's text? She helped me get ready. I'm not ready to leave the house yet. But I did want to have a date with my husband in the kitchen." Eric leaned over and kissed her.
"I love you," He whispered, kissing her again. When his lips found hers, she heard every thought in his head. She felt his fierce need to protect her, his love for her, he truly loved her with all of his being. She gasped and covered her mouth with her hands.
"Oh my stars! Baby, I can hear your thoughts." He looked at her and smiled. It was wonderful to hear pure happiness in her voice again.
"Of course you can. Help me up so I can shower. I need to get cleaned up." Sookie stood up and held on to Eric while he got steady on his feet. He was already naked by the time he got to the bathroom. Sookie stayed close in case he needed her but he seemed perfectly fine. He showered quickly, Sookie's mouth watered as she watched him through the clear glass shower. The way his muscles flexed involuntarily as he raised his arms over his head to wash all the shampoo out almost made Sookie join him. He got out and dried off. Sookie sat on the bed while he got dressed. He pulled on a pair of jeans and a white sweater. He reached back into the drawer where his pants were and pulled out a little velvet bag.
He walked over to her.
"I meant to give you this when you returned but there hasn't been a good time. I know this hasn't been easy for you. The fact that you're still here, able to stand in front of me and have a conversation shows me how incredibly strong you are. Most would have broken." Eric opened the black bag and pulled something out of it. He took her hand in his and placed her wedding rings on her finger. Sookie gasped.
"Oh my God, Eric, I didn't think I'd ever see them again. Thank you so much. Where did you find it ?" Sookie smiled, as tears ran down her cheeks. She threw her arms around his neck. "It was still in the glove compartment, just like you told me." Eric said, kissing her softly."The truth is, I am broken. Maybe I just hide my crazy a little better than some." Sookie said. "You are not crazy!" Eric took her hand in his and held it as they walked to the kitchen. Pam was sitting on the couch.
"Master, what can I do?" She asked with a slight bow.
"It's fine Pam, I feel fine. Just stay close for the time being. Maybe go to ground here today, just in case. Sookie's going to eat dinner then we'll probably go back upstairs." Pam nodded and left the room to give them privacy.
Eric had obviously not brought home anything for dinner so Sookie started making a salad. She gathered all the ingredients and began slicing the vegetables to add to her bowl. She took out her leftover steak from the night before and heated up her leftovers. She put them on a plate and sat down to eat. Eric sat in front of her.
"That smells amazing." Eric said, looking at the steak.
"Oh baby, I'm sorry I wasn't even thinking? Do you want some? Can you eat real food?" Eric looked at her. "I guess so." He shrugged his shoulders. Sookie fed him her bite. His whole face lit up. Sookie laughed and slid the plate to him.
"Here, go ahead, you feed me very well, I'll get something else. There's three course meals in that fridge that will probably be thrown away before I can eat them." It was true there was enough food in the fridge to feed an army. Eric had made sure she had enough to eat so she wouldn't have to cook. She grabbed a plate of teriyaki chicken and fried rice and started to heat it. By the time Sookie sat back down Eric had devoured the entire steak and baked potato and was working on the salad. He looked like a kid at Christmas as he put down his fork. Sookie took her time eating. She was doing a little better but she still got full fast. When she finished she carried both of their plates to the sink and washed the dishes. As she placed the last plate in the drainer it hit her. She was happy, truly happy, for the first time for as long as she could remember. Eric was right. It was doing the normal, little everyday things that were going to get her over all the trauma she had been through.
Eric was sitting on the couch waiting for her when she got finished. She sat down beside him and let out a deep breath as he pulled her in his lap. She laid her head against his shoulder. His heartbeat was pounding strong in his chest. She listened to it for a minute.
"How is this possible?" She asked. It's not that she wasn't happy. She just couldn't quite let herself believe that this was real. She'd only dreamed about what Eric would be like as a human a million times. He was more perfect than she could have ever dreamed. She was still waiting for the other shoe to drop.
"The curse was in Latin. It translates that I'm to find true happiness and never know. And for some reason I had to take off my shirt." Sookie looked at him alarmed, but couldn't help laughing. "Your chest is a masterpiece. I'd get you to take it off too." Sookie said, only half joking while running her hands under his sweater over his broad muscled chest. Eric smiled at her, that million dollar smile that made her clinch her thighs a little bit tighter together.
" What in the hell does it mean you won't know?" Sookie asked, alarmed. She wiped away a tear that escaped. She didn't even realize she had been crying. He wrapped her tightly in his arms and kissed her shoulder
"I don't know Lover. I just know that I'll take whatever this is as long as I'm with you." Sookie straddled his lap. He wrapped his arms around her waist and hugged her tightly against him. He gathered the hem of her dress in his hands and pulled it over her head. He unhooked her bra and slid it from her shoulders. He looked at her before grazing one of her nipples with his finger tip
" I love you, Sookie Northman." He whispered, placing soft kisses down her neck. She ran her hands under his shirt and he let her go just long enough to take his shirt off. He stood up with her still clinging to him. He sat her down long enough to take his pants off. Then he sat them back down. He pulled her panties to the side and let his hard shaft press against her. They made love slowly. Sex with human Eric was very different. Any sex with Eric was amazing. She was used to feeling his love through the bond but the bond was silent. Tonight she could read his mind and hear how much he loved her. He was gentle and passionate and when she came she pulled him over the edge with her. Neither of them moved until it was close to dawn. They were wrapped up in the blanket from the back of the couch. Sookie was laying on his chest listening to his heart beat. He was twirling a strand of her hair around his finger. His other arm wrapped tightly around her waist. Suddenly he stood up, bringing her with him. He held her in his arms and walked to the patio door.
"What are you doing?" Sookie asked him cautiously, looking up.
"I want to watch the sunrise with my wife." He said sitting on the swing and pulling the blanket tighter against her naked body.
"Baby! You can't! What if whatever this is doesn't last?" He kissed her lips to shush her.
"It's fine, Lover. I don't have the urgency to hide from the sun. If this is the only sunrise I ever get with you I want to enjoy every second." Sookie leaned against him and watched his face as he witnessed his first sunrise in over 1000 years. He looked at her with tears running down his cheeks. She pushed her fears aside and snuggled closer against him. He tilted her head back and kissed her softly. They made love as the morning sun lit up the sky. He looked down at her, tears pooled in the corner of his eyes. She reached up and wiped them away with her finger.
"Let's get you in the house and start a fire." He said, wrapping the blanket around her tightly. "Wait! Let's stay out here. It's not that cold." Sookie said placing kisses on lips. They stayed outside most of the morning. Sookie talked Eric into skinny dipping in the hot tub with her. She made a big breakfast of bacon, eggs, grits, and butter and jelly toast in the big kitchen outside. She had never seen Eric so beautiful. The excitement on his face was the most amazing thing she had ever seen. After breakfast he carried her inside and back into the living room. He sat her on the couch. He pulled his boxers back on and went to start the fire as promised.
"Babe, I'm going to run upstairs and change and I'll be back." Sookie said with a smile, kissing him before she walked out of the room. She was truly happy. She stood up and walked to the doorway. Just as she stepped more than a few feet from Eric. The light shifted around her and the fairy ,Claudine, appeared in front of Sookie, blocking the doorway.
"Sookie you must come with me! This is not a request." The fairy ordered grabbing Sookie by her arm roughly and squeezing it tightly . The fairy's fingers felt like a vice. Claudine stared at her in disbelief. "How could you? Do you have any idea what you've done? Mab will kill us both for this." Claudine yelled as she jerked Sookie forward. "For what?" Sookie screamed, losing her grip on the blanket she was holding around her. She tried to cover her body as it fell to the floor.
"You have vampire cum running down your legs. You were supposed to be Preston's. Now we're both going to pay for your transgressions."
"No!" Sookie yelled, jerking her arm back from the fairy.
"Eric!" Sookie screamed to get his attention.
"I'm sorry you had such a terrible first experience but you must come with me! They need you before they can start." Claudine said backing away, slightly, as Eric came into the room . He was carrying a large iron sword. They all knew he was more than capable of killing her with it, vampire or not.
"Sookie! Get behind me now!" Eric yelled, grabbing her around her waist. He was a little more forceful than he meant to be. He pulled her behind him, protecting her body from the fairy.
"They'll never let her go!" Claudine said in a sinister voice, as she called her light to the palm of her hand. She took a step closer and Eric raised the sword high over his head. He brought it down with more force than either of them believed he still had. Sookie screamed as the sword sliced through the fairy like she was hot butter. Sookie screamed as Claudine split in two, and turned to dust. Eric dropped the sword and pulled her tightly to him, cradling her in his arms. He shielded her body with his and lifted her up in his arms.
"Are you hurt? Sookie, shhh… you're safe. She's gone." Sookie was shaking. Eric raced her back upstairs and into the safe room as fast as his human body could get them there. He entered the code to put the room on lockdown. No one else would be getting in until Godric arrived at dark. Eric sat Sookie on the bed and sat beside her.
"Sookie, look at me. Are you hurt? I need you to tell me." He said, checking her body over for injury, but not finding anything, except for the finger prints on her arm. She shook her head.
"They know where I am." Sookie said quietly. Eric grabbed her by the shoulders and gently tilted her chin to meet his gaze.
"Look at me! We don't know that. She could have been the only one. I'll kill them all if I have to." Sookie touched his cheek.
"I love you so much! Please don't let them take me." She said, throwing both arms around his neck. He held her tightly and kissed her passionately. "Never! You're Mine."
Eric stood up and picked her up in his arms. He carried her into the bathroom and sat her on the bathroom counter. He wet a warm washcloth and started wiping her down with it. When he was finished he helped her down.
"Let's get you in bed." Eric said softly in her ear.
" Are you still hungry? She ruined our morning." Sookie said sadly.
"No she didn't. No one can take that away from us." Eric picked her up and carried her to bed. He sat her down and got in beside her. She curled up against his side and rested her head on his chest.
" Honey, I need you." She whispered and cried against his skin.
"I'm right here" he promised rubbing her back softly as they drifted to sleep in each other's arms.
