Chapter 1

A thirteen something year old boy returned from his school and saw that his home was a mess as if someone was fighting. It ignited a fear in his mind, not for himself but for his guardian. And soon he found it true as he felt someone's presence looming behind him. The person had a bowel cut and had sunglasses. He had a bit of food stuck on his face.

Before the boy could move, the man struck the boy with his bamboo cane. The hit making the boy fall on the ground and on the verge of passing out. But the man continued beating him till the boy finally lost his consciousness. When he saw the boy and other man in the corner who had blond hair, not moving he went towards the entrance door to make a phone call.

"Hello, Doffy….."

The blond man was not unconscious but acted like it. He saw that the other man had turned his back, so he got up and took the boy and ran from the back door as silently as he could. While doing so he made a call and told someone to come at a certain spot. When he reached that spot a van was waiting for them.

"Lieutenant Rosinante quickly get in the car! The Donquixote family will catch up with us soon," said a person who had orange hair and x shape small scar on his chin.

"Sorry Dory kun. I have some unfinished business to take care of. Please take Law to Assistant Chief and hand this to him." the lieutenant named Donquixote Rosinante replied to him giving him a cylindrical thing.

"But sir…," The man named Dory tried to protest.

"Open the trunk please," Rosinante requested.

The person did so when the boy in Rosinante's arms started gaining consciousness. Rosinante placed the boy in the trunk when the boy called out to him.

"Cora….san…."

"Law. Take care of yourself. I will come after you shortly."

"No. I will come with you too. Doflamingo wants me. I will go. I don't want anything to happen to you," Law protested.

"Don't worry! Doffy won't do anything to me. After all he is my brother!" Rosinante replied cheerfully and then continued, "Listen to Dory kun and Sengoku San, okay Law."

"Okay," Law replied quietly.

"And Law…..I love you!" Rosinante happily said while giving him a huge grin.

Law was stunned at that but then started laughing at Rosinante's face but then shyly replied, "Me too."

"Now stay hidden in here," saying that Rosinante shut the hood of the trunk and then said to Dory, "Get out of here quickly and be safe. I will try distracting them."

Dory was reluctant but did as was told and started the car leaving from there while Rosinante turned towards the people that were coming in his direction.

Dory reached the house of Assistant Chief, entered password at the gate and drove inside. He got down of the car and looked around for any suspicious people and then opened the trunk. Law was awake but a bit angsty.

"We have reached," Dory announced and tried to help Law get out of the trunk which Law swatted his hand and got out himself.

The door of the house opened and out walked a man with afro hair and having a long braided beard and a moustache.

"Dory kun," He greeted the police officer and then looked at the thirteen years old boy and said, "And you must be Law kun. Rosinante told me about you."

"Did Cora san contact you?" Law asked not liking here.

"It's better if we go inside and talk," the elder man suggested and went inside, Dory and Law following, the later a bit reluctantly. When they entered Dory closed the door behind them.

"We didn't received anything from Rosinante. I am expecting he will contact us shortly. And Commander Tsuru has also gone there," the Assistant Chief Sengoku replied. Law got a bit tensed after hearing that but did not show in front of the two.

"Sir, this was given by lieutenant," Dory said giving the cylindrical object. Sengoku read it and was surprised at what was written. Before he can do anything regarding the information his fax pinged. Some report was coming. He even got a call stating that an officer of Donquixote Family has been found dead and they have faxed his photo. Sengoku went towards the fax machine to see who it was and was shocked at seeing the photo. It was none other than Rosinante. He did not know what to say and he was a bit trembling trying to control his emotions.

"What's wrong Sir?" Dory asked.

Sengoku was going to reply but before he could Law quickly snatched the photograph out of his hand to see. Law was shocked and broke down in front of the two crying out his guardian's name.

"Cora san…..Cora san!"

"CORA SAN!"

Law woke up panting and stretching his hand as if to reach someone. He calmed himself down by taking slow and deep breaths. When he thought he was calm enough he looked at the clock on his night stand to see the time. It was six thirty in the morning that means he got only two hours of sleep.

Law got up and started getting himself busy, trying to get rid of his nightmare or rather say memory. He started his usual schedule of getting ready so that he can go to college. He was now nineteen years old in his last year of medical college. He was popular in the college but also kind of shunned by his peers because he was years younger than them. He had a close circle of friends but in public he treated them as nuisances.

Living alone was quite a pain sometimes for Law. His pseudo grandfather did tell him to continue staying with him but he did not want to stay with him as he felt suffocated while staying with him. At least staying alone he can be bit free and make his plans without anyone seeing those.

Law's day started with Spanish language class. He is lucky that his college started with this course this year. He got interested in this language due to personal reasons so he could be able to understand certain someone's plans very well. But today he has to first meet his advisor for consulting him of his thesis subject, which unexpectedly took long and he was the last one to reach the class, thankfully before the teacher came in.

Law quickly scanned the classroom as his usual seat was occupied by somebody else and saw that a seat was open next to a boy with a crescent scar under his eyes in the last bench of the middle row. He walked towards the seat and instantly regretted when the boy looked at him when he reached the seat and opened his mouth.

"You look very pretty!"

Law really wanted to smack this bastard for his statement. And he even acted like it was not a big deal to call a guy pretty.

"Shut your mouth before I do it for you," Law snapped.

"Why are you so angry? I just complimented you!" The guy replied pouting a bit. And wasn't that fucking hilarious for a guy to pout like a child. Before he could say anything more the teacher came in telling him to sit which he reluctantly sat beside the boy, wondering if his day started like this how will it end today.
