Chapter 1: Meeting the new student part 1

Peacock High School

Seattle, Washington

It was a beautiful day at Peacock high school, it was the for the day of a new school year. All the students were excited to see old friends. Among one of the students was Sean Diaz who was now a Junior, he was popular with everybody. As captain of the track team and the school's best runner. On his way to his first period class, he was called into Mr. Goldberg's office. There was a new girl, sitting in his office as well. She has long, straight purple hair into an undercut with short bangs and is gathered over her left shoulder.

"Good morning Sean, I hope you had a good summer." Mr. Goldberg said as he sits in his chair.

"It wasn't too bad, what is going on?" Sean asked as he stretched his arms.

"Well, we have a new student here who just transferred here, this is Lucy Rose Jones." Mr. Goldberg introducing the new student.

"Please call me Cassidy, and it's a pleasure being here sir." Cassidy introduced herself.

"It's a pleasure, name's Sean, nice to meet you." Sean shakes Cassidy's hand.

"So, the reason why I called you in here is to show Cassidy around the school whenever you get the chance." Mr. Goldberg hands them both their schedules and lockers assignments.

"Ok I would be happy to." Sean said as he exited out of the office. First let's get to your locker, let's see now locker 024, oh wow that's right next to mine" Sean said as he heads towards their locker.

"Oh really?" Cassidy said she nudges his shoulder.

As the two teens approach their lockers, a girl with yellow hi-tops sneakers, distressed skinny jeans and a grey sweater is seen standing by Sean's locker. Her name is Lyla Park, Sean's childhood friend. She often teases each other about the craziest stuff.

"Hey Sean, who's the new girl?" Lyla asked.

"Oh, this is Cassidy, it's her first day here." Sean introduces Cassidy.

"Howdy." Cassidy shakes Lyla's hand.

"Oh, wow and she's polite, unlike someone I know" Lyla said as she looked toward Sean.

"Oh really?" Sean said as Cassidy laughed.

"I'm liking this school already, now where is Mrs. Calloway class?" Cassidy asked.

"That's math, we're heading that way ourselves, want to walk with us?" Sean asked.

"Of course, you are my guide after all." Cassidy teases Sean.

Sean's face turns beet red, as the three teens' head towards Mrs. Calloway's class. As they entered the class Sean and Lyla sat in their seats. While Cassidy stood in front of the class.

"Ok class, welcome back to a brand-new year, before we get started, I want to introduce you all to our new student, this is Lucy Rose Jones." Mrs. Calloway introduced Cassidy.

"Please Cassidy is fine." Cassidy said.

"Now you can sit in the empty seat in front of Sean." Mrs. Calloway said as Cassidy takes her seat.

"Alright now let's do a quick review from last year, which should be too hard." Mrs. Calloway takes a piece of chalk. "Now can we solve (5^2)-10 anyone?" Mrs. Calloway asked.

Cassidy raises her hand to give her answer "It's 15" Cassidy answered.

"That's correct, remember this symbol ^ means to multiply a number times itself, and always solve the parenthesis first ok another one, how about (8x5)x0?" Mrs. Calloway asked.

Sean raised his hand to give his answer "0" Sean answered. "That right, always remember a number times 0 is always 0." Mrs. Calloway said as she hands out a worksheet to the class. "Since this is the first week, we're most likely going to go over what we learned last year, things will be little tougher so prepares yourselves, you can work as group of your choice and there is no rush, take all the time you need." Mrs. Calloway returns to her seat.

Sean, Lyla and Cassidy form their own group, but there is one student who doesn't have a group. Her name is Jenn Murphy, the most popular girl in the school. "Hey Sean mind if I join your group?" Jenn asked.

"Um yeah sure." Sean blushed a little bit.

"Thanks, you must be Cassidy, I'm Jenn." Jenn shakes Cassidy's hand.

"It's nice to meet you." Cassidy said as she gets started on her worksheet.

"So how do you like the school so far?" Jenn asked.

"It's not too bad." Cassidy said as she concentrates on her worksheet.

"So, Sean, it seems you had a blast at Eric's party last week, especially after fucking Maddie Brown." Jenn teases Sean.

"Shhh, that was only once time, and she's from Flamingo High, our school's rival, plus she wanted to piss off her ex, so I was happy to oblige." Sean reminded Sean.

"Oh yeah I forgot, but you still fucked her, good for you." Lyla said as Sean face turns red.

"Oh, you mean Bryan Stone, didn't they break up anyways?" Lyla asked.

"Yep, she came by Eric's party, started talking to Sean, next thing I knew they were fucking." Jenn said looking towards Sean.

"Oh, for fuck sakes, not in front of the new girl please." Sean said as Cassidy laughed.

"Ok we'll stop, for now at least." Lyla said she nudges Sean's shoulder.

"If only you were here last week, Eric's parties are super legendary, but you'll meet him soon." Sean informed Cassidy.

"Actually, if you mind me asking, what neighborhood you live?" Lyla asked.

"Oh, 1451 Lewis Avenue SW, I moved in last Saturday." Cassidy answered.

"That's the old Johnson's house, but nobody lived there for years." Sean thought to himself.

"Yep, my grandmother brought the property and had it remodeled just for us." Cassidy informed her group.

'Well explains the construction crew." Lyla replied.

"You live right across the street from me, we've met a lot sooner." Sean said as he finished his worksheet.

"That's true, but I wanted to get settled in first." Cassidy said as her face turned red.

"Totally understandable." Lyla said.

One hour later

1st period is now over, the student handover their worksheets, the three teens, head towards their next class PE with Coach Aaron.

"Next is PE." Sean said as he glances at Cassidy's schedule.

"It looks like that Jenn really likes you, Sean." Cassidy teases Sean

"So not true, besides, she's dating Eric." Sean explained.

"Oh, that's right, I forgot you're fucking Maddie Brown from Flamingo High?" Lyla asked.

"For fuck sakes, that was one time." Sean blushes and Cassidy laughs. "Now let's head to gym before we're late." Sean heads towards the gym.

"Looks like we have a stud in our presence." Cassidy teases Sean.

"What no way." Sean blushes and then enters the gym.

"The three teen heads toward the lockers to change. Once they were done, they all sat on the bleachers. Cassidy looks over and Sean is chatting with a few other teens, she walks over to Sean.

The three other teen boys Sean was his friends Eric, Adam, and Ellery. Sean starts introducing them to Cassidy.

"Alrighty guys this the new girl Cassidy." Sean introduces her to the group.

"Hey, the name's Eric, that's Adam and Ellery." Eric shakes Cassidy's hand.

"What's going on newbie?" Adam shakes Cassidy's hand.

"Greetings." Ellery shakes Cassidy.

"Nice to meet all of you." Cassidy said.

"As you could see, this is our track crew, Eric is right hand man." Sean said as he high fives Eric.

"But you see that knucklehead, over that's Brett the school trouble." Lyla informed Cassidy.

"To make things worse, he lives in our neighborhood." Sean replied.

"Oh wow." Cassidy said.

"Don't worry he start any shit when we're around." Adam said as Coach Andres enters the gym.

"Alright everyone settle down, I'm pretty sure you know we have a new student here, can you come down here Cassidy and introduce yourself please?" Coach Andrew said as Cassidy stands by him.

"Hey everyone, it's a pleasure to meet you…." Cassidy it's interrupted when she gets hit with a can.

"Oops my…. Ow." Brett groans in pain after Sean punched him.

"Alright Brett, it's only the first day, now chillout." Coach Andrew instructed.

"Ow that stings." Brett covered his eye.

"I'm so sorry about him, please continue." Coach instructed.

"As I was saying, it's a pleasure being and I'm hoping to get to know you all." Cassidy continued her introduction.

After her introduction, she makes her way back to the bleachers. While everyone else gave Brett the death stare for what he did. She immediately thanks Sean for standing up for her. Coach Andrews pulls Brett to the side for what he did. Sooner or later everyone in the school will find out what happened. Not willing to let this slide, Coach Andrews sends Brett to the principal's office.

"Alight everyone line up, since it's the first day of school, how about we play a few rounds of dodgeball?" Coach Andrews instructed the class. "Ok Sean, Eric you're captain." Coach Andrews said as the two boys stood in front of the bleachers.

"Ok I choose Adam." Eric said

"I got Ellery." Sean replied.

"Mellissa come on down." Eric responded.

"Cassidy." Sean said.

"Steve." Eric said.

"Ronny." Sean responded.

"Stephanie." Eric replied.

"Lyla." Sean said."

"Ok looks like we have our team, but remember guys no hits in the face, we don't a repeat of last year, now pick a side and stand by the wall until I give the go ahead." Coach Andrews said as the class takes their position. "Begin." Coach Andrew said as he blows the whistle.

Both teams rushed to get a ball, Sean, Cassidy and Ellery managed to get one. Eric and Adam

managed to get one for themselves. Sean threw the first ball, Eric immediately dodged and aimed right back at Sean who immediately dodged. Adam took aim at Sean, but Ellery blocked it and hit Adam with his ball.

"Adam you're out." Coach Andrew announced.

As the game continues, Cassidy takes aim at Eric. Eric blocks it and aims right back at Cassidy. Ronny blocks it. Lyla aims for Steve, but he catches her ball.

"Lyla you're out." Coach Andrews announced.

Melissa takes aim at Cassidy, Sean intervenes and catches her ball, eliminating Mellissa.

"Melissa you're out." Coach Andrew announced.

Eric takes aim at Cassidy. Cassidy blocks it and aims for Eric. Steve blocks it and managed to eliminate Cassidy. Eric takes aim at Stephanie, Ellery managed to catch the ball, which got Eric eliminated.

"Eric you're out, Cassidy you're out." Coach Andrews announced.

It's now Sean, Ronny Ellery against Stephanie and Steve. Sean takes aim at Stephanie and managed to hit her leg. Sean, Ronny and Ellery each grab a ball and at the same time aim at Steve and he gets eliminated.

"Alright that game, now we have an hour left, you have a lot of free time, just no rough housing ok boys." Coach Andrew instructs the class.

Sean and the boys get a basketball, while the girls sits on the bleachers getting to know Cassidy a little better.

"I can't believe Brett threw something at you while you were introducing yourself, what a dickhead." Lyla said.

"Yeah, I wish they kick him the fuck out of here already." Melissa replied.

"Thanks for looking out for me, no one ever did that at my old school. Cassidy responded.

"Oh problem." Stephanie responded.

At that moment Cassidy felt at relieved, she had already made some new friends. Hoping she'll never return to her hometown. She came here with her grandmother for a brand new start in her life. She can't remember the last time she had a smile on her face.

"So anyways, you going to the Fall Seattle Fair this weekend?" Lyla asked.

"I'm not sure what that is." Cassidy replied.

"We get a fair one for Spring, Summer and Fall." Stephanie responded.

"The Summer Fair is the best one." Sean intervened

"Looks who's the White Knight." Lyla said sarcastically

"Ha ha very funny." Sean responded.

'It sounds like fun, I'll think about it." Cassidy as Brett returns from the principal's office.

"What are you looking at chumps?" Brett said with the nastiest attitude.

"Ignore him." Eric said as the bell rings.

"Oh man over already, what class you got next?" Sean asked.

"I have Ms. Grant next." Cassidy responded.

"Oh man we got Ms. Hoida next." Lyla responded.

"Fun fact those two and Ms. Marsh are from Arcadia Bay." Sean said.

"Oh yeah the Blackwell Academy incident." Lyla responded.

"What incident?" Cassidy asked

"Oh yeah, about three to four year some rich kid shot some girl in the bathroom, she was their security's stepdaughter." Lyla replied.

"What's even crazy the rich kid's family and their photography teacher was into some crazy shit, that female students went missing, what's even worse the principal knew about this, he was paid off and the school was shut down ever since." Sean said.

"Wow that's insane." Cassidy replied.

"I know right, now to get Ms. Grant's, just make a right past those lockers, second door on the left." Lyla said.

"Well meet up at lunch and then Ms. Marsh's class." Sean informed Cassidy.

"Cool sounds like a plan, see you around." Cassidy said as she went towards her next class.

Lyla and Sean head towards their next class as well. Lyla noticed that Sean's face was red, which gives her plenty of ammo to tease him about.
