Chapter 26 On the road back to the castle

So, after bidding the family their goodbyes and a happy new life the four got into the carriage to start their journey back home. After an hour on the road Inuyasha started to a bit uneasy and pale. This got the attention of Scott and Sesshomaru. Shippou would have noticed but he was too busy gazing at the scenery to realize that something was wrong.

Scott

You don't look so good love and you are starting to worry me a bit.

Inuyasha

Everything is alright hun it just an upset stomach, I think.

Scott

Are you sure your pale and moaning and groaning plus you are sweating up a storm as well.

Just seconds after saying that what Scott sees shocks him to his very core. Inuyasha's appearance changes completely from being docile and sweet to feral and dangerous. And the next second Inuyasha goes to leap on Scott, but Sesshomaru restrains him, so he doesn't do anything irreversible. Then knocks him out afterwards lays Inuyasha down on the floor of the carriage.

Scott

What the hell just happened he was completely unhinged and feral not to mention scary.

Sesshomaru

Calm down Scott I will explain but we need to make a slight detour to pick something up. Scott just nods and informs Chris about a slight change in plans.

Chris

Alrighty sir will do.

Two hours later they arrive to the detour destination. Sesshomaru gets out of the carriage and tells Scott that he will be back in a few minutes. Scott just nods. Thirty seconds later Scott picks up Inuyasha bridal style to lay him on his lap. then starts to brush his hair with his fingers being careful to hurt him with his claws. Ten seconds later Inuyasha starts to let out a purring like growl and nudge into Scott's hand. In which causes Scott to smile seeing that his mate is back to normal. But is still worried about what happened three hours ago. But remembering that Sesshomaru will explain what happened.

One minute later sees Sesshomaru coming back. But this time he is clutching a sword in his hand which was weird in itself. But just shrugged it off and opened the carriage door to let him in. Sesshomaru climbs in and smiles then sits down.

Scott

So are you going to tell me what happened. Because I am still freaking out a little. Even though Inuyasha calmed down not to mention out cold still radiating anger in his pheromones.

Sesshomaru

For me to explain what happened. I will need to tell you the history of the demon and half-demon race.

Scott brightens up with a huge grin finally able to learn the full history of the demon species also what cause the extermination.

(Inuyasha's and Sesshomaru's Backstory begins)

Sesshomaru

So long ago like six centuries ago werewolves and demon races lived in peace and harmony for a good four hundred years. But there were rumors going around stating that the werewolves plan to stage an attack on the demon king and the human king. But the attacks never came. So, us humans and demons just pegged it off as just rumors. Which at the time was our father Inutashio.

He ruled strong and proudly for a good three thousand years before his death. In that time, he fathered two sons me and Inuyasha. Whereas I was born of two demons. But my brother was born of a demon and human. A human woman that my father fell head over heels for.

She was a young maiden of a royal linage. But was shunned by her family for falling for a demon let alone having a child with them. A few years later after Inuyasha was born strange occurrences started to happen. Such as small villages of demons who were normally peaceful by nature. We're being destroyed and the occupants of the villages slaughtered.

But the only evidence being uncovered was attacks looked human killings. Our father called a meeting with the leader of the humans to discuss the situation. When Inutashio brought the matter up the leader denied all claims to the slaughter. The cased was closed as a scuffle between the clans of the demon villages. Which happened from time to time.

But a few months later the leader of the human village was found brutally mauled to death. Which looked to be by a wolf attack. And from the look of the attack, it was done by werewolves. So, our father called the leader of the werewolves to a meeting to discuss the death of the leader of the humans by one of his own kind.

Which was his last mistake. Even before the meeting even started the werewolves that came to the meeting attacked him and mortally wounded him. But he was able to escape but not before killing the king of the werewolves.

When our father got home the house was on fire and Inuyasha's mother was dead. Inutashio fell to his knees in utter bewilderment and rage. Then ran into the burning house to rescue Inuyasha but didn't find him inside at all. So he started to get worried. Then he heard footsteps outside the house. So he ran back outside to fight who and whatever it was. But it was just me and holding my baby brother.

Since we were at my mom's place when the attack happened. Then I relayed the bad news that my mom place just came under attack by a legion of werewolves. She told me to take my brother and run also to warn your father. Which I did but by the time I got to the meeting hall all I saw was dozens of dead werewolves and king cut in half.

So realizing that this place isn't safe I ran to my brother's mom's house only to find her dead. But I was able to pick up the scent of our father nearby. I began to search the property. But to avail I didn't find him. Until I heard Growling coming from behind me. So, I quickly turned around to see our father seriously wounded. Plus, from the severity of the wounds I could tell he wouldn't survive.

Then he tells me to run and take my brother with me and not to look back. I began to run till I couldn't run anymore. Realizing were I was at the outskirts of the human domain deep in the woods. I set my brother down and told him to wait here for me to come back.

I ran to the human domain to gather supplies and food for our journey but before I could finish, I could hear the howling of werewolves nearby. Then I jumped up grabbing the stuff I collected and ran back to my brother. When I got there, he was nowhere to be found. So, I searched the woods for a good rest of the day to no avail. Now realizing the howling was coming from the woods while I was scavenging for supplies.

Scott

Damn that a lot to take in. I just realized how hard Inuyasha has had it now. He did not tell me how the extermination of the humans and demons really happened. Cause he mentioned that he lost his memories from his past.

Sesshomaru

So he told you what he knew I am surprised at that.

Scott

Yeah I am surprised to. He did also mention that he was adopted by a very loving couple that took him in after he left the a pack of very nice werewolves.

Sesshomaru

(GROWLS) I doubt they were nice if they let him be on his own.

Scott

Oh, they are very nice I assure you I sensed no evil from them when I first met them. The alpha of the pack took amazing care of him and raised him extremely well.

Sesshomaru

So if it is not to much to ask may I know how you two met.

Scott

No that is fine. Well to start I need to tell you my backstory first that led up to our meeting.

Sesshomaru

(Scott's backstory begins)

Scott

So just like Inuyasha I also had a traumatic experience as well. When I was around the same age as him I lost my brother, father, and mother to sickness that plagued the castle. So, for the next half a decade I became hard, cruel, selfish, and unkind. On my eleventh birthday an old beggar woman came to the castle asking for shelter. But I shunned her away because of her haggard appearance disgusted me.

She warned me that beauty isn't found on the outside but within. When I shunned her again her ugliness melted away to reveal a beautiful enchantress. As for punishment because she saw there was no love in my heart. She cursed me and all the occupants of the castle.

Then gave me an enchanted rose that would bloom for the next decade and a half. I secluded myself in the castle in despair. Before the last petal fell if I could learn to love and earn love in return the curse would be broken.

If not I would be doomed to stay as I am for all time. As the years went by, I gave in to my despair realizing that the curse may never be broken. But a few months before my 26th birthday fate fell my way. On a dark and rainy night, I had an unexpected visitor come to the castle. But I let my anger get the better of me instead of hearing him out I imprisoned him for trespassing. For the next week I left him there without a care in the world for him.

Then on one dark afternoon I had another unexpected visitor aka your brother. But this one intrigued me. They sacrificed their freedom for their adoptive father's freedom. Which in turned shocked me to the core that someone would show such devotion and love for another person.

Since my mother and father never did to me because they were never around to raise me. They left that to the servants. But I am getting off topic. I accepted his request and let his father go.

He stayed true his promise. Until one night he came to the forbidden west wing of the castle. But I will admit I did overreact in the incident by scaring him away and to leave the castle. Then I felt regret after it happened. So I left the castle to apologize on my actions. But when I did find him, my blood boiled at the scene I saw.

Him surrounded by unknown werewolves. Without second thought I leapt at them in means to protect him. When I jumped to conclusions to quickly, he got hurt in the process. But that was when I realized I was a fool when the werewolves met him no harm. Plus, with all this happening he went into heat for the first time. In which caused the alpha to become extremely protective of him.

Then I brought them back to the castle. As the days went on I was becoming smitten with him. Sadly, all good things had to come to an end. He found out that his adoptive parents were in serious trouble through my magic mirror. I released him from his vow so he could leave to save them with no regrets or burdens.

But just hours after I released him my castle came under attack by a mob. To my surprise he came back to save me but was too late. I was mortally wounded by the leader of the mob. With my last breath I told him that I loved him then I died. But then a miracle happened I felt life surge back into me and the curse broke.

So that is how we met and fell in love with each other.

Sesshomaru

I am glad that you told me the truth and my baby brother is lucky to have you. But I warn you if he is hurt in any way by any fault of your own I will make you regret it I promise you.

Scott

I swear that will never happen I promise you. I love him and is my world. I will never hurt him or leave him. Anyway, you said you will explain the reason for the detour.

Sesshomaru

Well, I believe you have realized the difference in my appearance and that of my brother. I am full demon whereas he is only half. The blood of a demon sometimes becomes to much for half-demons. As you have seen three hours ago. Usually, a half-demons demon blood stays in check after they have been mated. Since you too haven't truly mated yet. His human and demon blood is at a constant war internally and mentally. Sometimes the demon bloods wins. The demon parent of the half demon takes a secondary measure.

By creating a weapon or clothing to keep the demon side in check and that is what the sword is for. I warn you now he must keep it close by at all times. Either on him or near him in some way. Or I am afraid that an episode like before with happen again.

Master I think we should start back on the road again we are losing the light.
