Chapter 4 "Mission: Double Trouble"

Outskirts Military Base - Titania

Slippy knew that something was wrong in the mission, first since he went out to make the perimeter of the base, he had a sense of danger, then he tried to communicate with Peppy but something was blocking him, the same thing happened when he tried to communicate with Fox and Falco there was a lot of interference, so he decided to go back to the main Gate of the base, but now he found another problema.

"This is one problem after another," slippy muttered as he saw what looked like a dark barrier blocking his way to the main entrance.

"How did this thing form?" Slippy said as he walked over to inspect the barrier more closely, he immediately took out his matter analyzer in his backpack to inspect the barrier and began to analyze it.

"Let's see what you're made of" he said while looking at the results of the analysis.

Inside the Great Fox – Titania Orbit

Peppy was upset, he lost communication with Fox and Falco a while ago and he couldn't talk to Slippy either, he was trying to see the cause of the interference when Rob64 gave him some other bad news.

¨Indeed there is some kind of energy that is affecting our systems, this is the reason why the infrared sensor is not working properly¨ reported Rob64

"Well, what can we do about it? Peppy asked.

¨Trying to correct the anomalies, but there is an interference due to an unidentified new energy¨ replied Rob64

¨Tell me something to fix it Rob, Fox and the others must be in trouble¨

¨This energy is something never seen before, the ship's sensors have never detected anything like this¨ replied Rob64

¨Damn, what can we do to help¨ Peppy muttered as she looked at the ship's systems, the interference seemed to have no end.

¨If we analyze the energy, maybe we can counteract its effects¨ mentioned Rob64

"And how long will it take us to do that?"

¨In our current state, two hours. ¨

Peppy was silent after this and looked at the main screen, which was still locked, while looking at it, he sighed and sat in the chair.

¨Do it Rob, start the analysis as fast as you can¨ said Peppy

"Affirmative" replied Rob64 as he began to analyze dark energy.

"I hope you guys are okay down there."Peppy thought worriedly.

Titania Surface – Military Base

"We have to end this now" Fox thought as he took refuge behind some rubble from Dark Pit's shots, while Falco was trying to shoot, but Dark Pit was faster and dodged all the shots.

¨Fox! I hope you have a plan¨ Falco shouted before dodging another dark arrow.

"Ask me again in 5" Fox said before jumping and shooting several times towards Dark Pit, who simply used a reflective shield that returned the lasers to Fox, who barely managed to dodge it, Dark Pit immediately continued shooting arrows towards Fox, Falco tried to take advantage of this moment to dash towards Dark Pit and throw a grenade.

"Eat that" Falco shouted

Dark pit activated his Shield and prepared to block the explosion, but was surprised to see that the grenade released a light that momentarily blinded him instead of exploding. Fox, seeing this, jumped and activated his special move Fire fox. Fox was immediately engulfed in flames and shot at high speed towards Dark pit, hitting him squarely and causing both of them to hit the ground hard.

Dark Pit rolled until he collided with some rubble, he quickly tried to recover when falco hit him again, snatching his bow from his hand and shooting him squarely.

Fox and Falco slowly approached with their Blasters in hand ready to fire.

"Give up, we've won," Fox said.

Dark pit came to his senses and saw that Fox and Falco were approaching him, he saw that he no longer had his bow, but instead of giving up he let out a laugh that left Fox and Falco baffled.

¨You won?, I wouldn't be so sure about that¨ Darkpit said with a smile, and before Fox and Falco could react, he raised his right hand and formed what looked like a cane.

a cane? and what, you are going to give us lectures like the old men with that thing¨ Falco mocked.

Without saying a word Dark pit pointed towards them and a shot came out of the cane at high speed, Fox and Falco activated their shields in time so that the shot did not hurt them, when they looked at Dark pit again, he was already moving at high speed towards them and hit Falco hard sending him flying.

¨Falco!¨ Fox shouted concerned.

"No sermons, but this staff will give you a hole in your chest" Dark Pit yelled before trying to hit Fox with his Staff, but he dodged it, Dark Pit tried again, but Fox continued to dodge him and began to counter with his own attacks and soon both were facing each other in melee combat.

Falco landed hard on the ground releasing Dark pit's bow, which moved a few meters away, when Falco recovered from the fall, he saw how Fox and Dark pit continued to battle with the latter gaining more ground, Falco noticed that he no longer had the bow in his possession, he got up and ran to retrieve it.

At that same moment, Dark Pit noticed Falco's intentions and in a quick movement with his Staff, he moved Fox away enough to be able to shoot Falco.

Falco saw the shot heading towards his direction and activated his reflector at the last second returning the shot to Dark pit who tried to dodge it, but Fox took the opportunity and hit him towards the shot that hit him square in the stomach.

Falco grabbed the bow and approached Fox who took out his blaster and pointed it at Dark pit who was injured on the ground, he tried to get up, but Fox quickly approached and put some handcuffs on him and snatched the Staff, handing it over to Falco.

"Okay, it's time for you to talk, who are you? and what are you doing here?" Fox asked.

Dark pit fell silent and spat in his face; Fox wiped himself in disgust as Falco chuckled.

"You're not helping Falco" Fox Said

¨Sorry, but you have always been bad at this, why don't you let me do the interrogation¨ said Falco with a graceful tone.

Fox just looked at him without grace, but before he could say anything there was a noise and suddenly the radios started working again.

¨Fox, Falco are you two listening to me, I hope I did this well¨ spoke Slippy on the Radio.

Everyone was surprised to hear Slippy's voice, Fox immediately replied "Slippy, Fox here, how did you solve the communication problem? ¨

¨That should not be possible that barrier should be impenetrable¨ replied Dark Pit

¨Shut up¨ told Falco ¨and wait the interference with communications was a barrier?¨

"I don't want to brag, but I will. A genius like me can figure out everything he investigates over time and if it's a barrier made of an unknown energy, I've never seen anything like it," Slippy said.

"Were you able to break down the Slippy barrier?" Fox asked.

"Well no, but I managed to get us to communicate with each other" Slippy said.

"That doesn't help us much," Falco muttered and Fox simply gave him a look.

¨Well try it we have a prisoner, but we don't know if there is someone else is here¨ Fox said while Darkpit let out a growl.

¨Seriously I always have to do all the work¨ said a voice behind them.

Fox and Falco turned around, but before they could react, a ball of blue energy went towards them and they had to dodge it causing them to separate from Dark pit, the new figure approached Dark pit and took off the handcuffs.

¨Ryu I had everything under control¨ said Dark pit

"Really? it doesn't look like it" Ryu said as he looked at Fox and Falco "And I see that you also haven't taken care of them either"

¨They only took me by surprise, but they didn't give me any scratches¨ Dark pit muttered

Fox and Falco watched the two talk among themselves while they thought about what to do, Fox analyzed the situation, they were two against two and defeating Dark Pit had taken them a long time and they didn't know how powerful the new one was, they had to act now, Fox signaled Falco to mobilize, he nodded, but before they could another attack was directed towards them and they had to move away.

"You guys aren't going anywhere" Ryu said as he handed something to Dark pit and walked towards them.

¨Go to that addresses, I'll take care of them, do you still have the orb? Ryu asked without taking his eyes off Fox and Falco.

"Orb" Fox and Falco thought at the same time as they went on their guard.

"Yes, here I have it" Dark Pit said before throwing it to Ryu and headed towards a hatch in the ceiling of the room.

¨Hey! You're not going anywhere¨ said Falco and tried to shoot Dark pit to intercept him but Ryu interrupted him when he approached at high speed and hit him snatching the bow and throwing it back to Dark pit who caught it and left the place.

¨Falco!¨ Fox yelled before he was also struck and the staff was snatched from his hands but thanks to his agility he landed on his feet.

"You guys are up against me now," Ryu said before making the staff disappear and striking a fighting pose and launching into battle.

Orbit of the Planet Titania – Inside the Great Fox.

"Ok Slippy, are you sure this will help us get rid of the barrier?" asked Peppy who was sitting communicating with Slippy through the communicator, but only Slippy's voice was heard because there was still interference in the image.

"Well I've been running tests and thanks to Rob's additional analysis I think I can destroy it permanently or at least long enough to get us through" Slippy said.

¨I suppose we don't lose anything by trying, luckily Fox and Falco have already fixed the situation-¨ at that moment Peppy was interrupted by a new transmission that was from Fox.

¨Guys we need, agh, we need reinforcements here¨ Fox's voice sounded stressed and explosions could be heard in the background.

"Fox, tell me what's going on?, I thought you two had everything under control" Peppy spoke worriedly.

¨It turns out that there is another idiot here and he is more resistant than the last one¨ said the voice of falco who also joined the call.

"Don't worry; we're working on it, Rob! Hurry up and load the ship's cannons," Slippy mentioned, trying to sound calm, but failing miserably.

¨Preparing Cannons¨ confirmed Rob64 while preparing the cannons.

What are they trying to do? Don't tell me your master plan is to shoot wildly Slippy¨ said Falco as an explosion was heard in the background.

¨Concentrate on the fight Falco we will work on the barrier, Slippy why not use the cannons of the arwings?¨ said Peppy.

¨The Arwing cannons are not enough, I need something very strong, the Great Fox cannons are perfect for that, and once the cannons are ready, you are going to shoot the barrier on my signal¨

¨Okay we will enter the planet and we will get into position¨ said Peppy and began to pilot the Great Fox.

"Okay, I'll wait for you, Slippy out¨ answered Slippy before ending the call.

¨Preparing the flight sequence, Rob focus on the cannons, time to enter Titania¨ said Peppy and began to pilot the Great fox towards the planet while Rob64 prepared the cannons.

Titania Surface – Military Base

"I want this day to end" Falco thought as he dodged another ball of blue energy that his enemy called Hadoken and for some reason he couldn't stop shouting the name of the attack every time he used it, but there opponent turned out to be tougher than the previous one despite the fact that he couldn't fly and had no weapons.

"Seriously what this guy is made of?" Falco thought before using Falco Phantasm, moving at high speed in a straight line towards Ryu leaving behind a path of destruction straight to his opponent who couldn't dodge it in time and was hit squarely.

Ryu however somersaulted in the air and landed on his feet and quickly executed his Tatsumaki Senpukyaku as he moved at rapid speed towards Falco, but was intercepted by Fox who delivered a series of flying kicks to his head, causing Ryu to be slightly disoriented.

¨These two are causing a lot of trouble, luckily I only have to distract them for a few more minutes until Dark pit reaches the destination¨ Ryu thought as he tried to get up, but was hit again by Fox sending him flying towards a wall of the base.

¨Damn, together they are very strong, maybe it's time to separate them¨ Ryu thought after getting up from the rubble and began to think quickly in a plan to be able to separate and capture them.

Surface of the planet Titania – Inside the Great Fox

Peppy was flying the Great Fox on the way to the base while they were going over the plan to destroy the barrier when they saw a speeding object leaving the planet.

"Rob, what is that? Peppy asked as he watched the screen as the object headed for the atmosphere.

¨The figure seems to be a person flying¨ replied Rob64

¨A person? That shouldn't be possible, could he be one of the enemies that Fox and Falco were fighting¨ Peppy thought as he watched the screen carefully.

"Where is it headed?" Peppy asked.

¨Off planet, but if it continues its fixed course it will go directly to Venom or its satellites¨ replied Rob64.

"Venom!? Why would he go to Venom!?" Peppy exclaimed out loud.

¨Reason unknown¨

Peppy sighed and thought what to do, if he let him get away now who knows what they could plan after all Venom was still a very unexplored place and who knows what Andross's secret weapons are still out there.

After thinking about the situation for a moment, Peppy made a decision that he would send Rob to Slippy and finish the plan while he ventured towards Venom in his arwing and followed the individual.

"Rob guide the Great Fox to Slippy and the others" Peppy said as he got up from the chair and said to the door of the control room "And also prepare my Arwing, it's time to go hunting" and with that Peppy left the room to get ready.

Surface Planet Titania – Outside the Military Base.

Slippy kept setting up his device with the few tools he had while he waited for Peppy and Rob64 to arrive to start the plan.

"Ok, once I have this molecule manipulator ready, I will be able to destroy the barrier when the lasers from the cannons hit it.¨ Slippy said out loud before finishing the last details of his device, suddenly his Radio rang.

¨Slippy answer, are you there?¨ came the voice of Peppy.

"Yes, what happen, tell me that you guys are already on your way" asked Slippy

"Sure but there's been a change of plans" Peppy said with some doubt in his voice.

"What change of plans?" said Slippy

¨Listen, one of the bad guys that Fox and Falco were fighting is escaping the planet, it seems he's going to Venom, I'm going to follow him in my Arwing¨ mentioned Peppy.

¨What!? Peppy are you crazy!? you haven't flown an Arwing in a year¨ exclaimed Slippy with concern.

"Don't worry an old dog like me can't forget his old tricks" said Peppy trying to calm Slippy down.

"But we still don't know what they're capable of or what other abilities they have," Slippy said, trying to make Peppy come to Reason.

¨Don't worry, I'll just follow him and see what he plans, it'll be a piece of cake and once I see what they're planning, I'll return without being discovered¨ said Peppy, sounding more confident.

"I still think that's a bad idea," Slippy replied.

¨Don't worry, everything will be fine, I'm leaving the planet, Peppy out¨ Peppy hung up.

"Peppy, wait, don't hang up," said Slippy, but Peppy had already hung up the transmission. "Damn, I hope you come back okay, Peppy," slippy muttered before concentrating on the Barrier again.

¨Rob64 ready to assist¨ Slippy was interrupted by Rob64's voice on the transmitter, when he looked at the sky he saw the imposing Great Fox next to the Base.

"Good to see you Rob, time to get down to business," Slippy said with a smile.

Surface Planet Titania - Interior Military Base

¨Time to put the plan into action¨ Ryu thought as he dodged an attack from Falco, once this was done he ran to one of the corners of the room and using his negative energy launched an attack towards Falco and Fox, that they dodged, Fox to the right and Falco to the left, but when they did this Ryu immediately activated a barrier in the middle of the room separating the two.

¨what is this?¨ asked Falco looking at the barrier.

¨This is your end¨ Ryu said behind Falco hitting him hard.

"Falco!" Fox yelled from the other side of the barrier as he tried to break through.

Falco tried to defend himself, but Ryu launched fiercer and stronger attacks, not allowing Falco to counterattack and could only defend himself. Finally, Falco was able to separate a bit and he returned to his Falco Phantams, moving at high speed, leaving copies of himself wherever he moved. He surrounded Ryu and began to attack from all directions, Ryu could not defend against so many fast attacks and finally he flew towards a wall.

"Take that!" Falco shouted with a smile.

Ryu simply grunted as he got up. Falco immediately got into a fighting stance, but before anything could happen, the base began to shake.

¨What is happening!?¨ Fox yelled.

¨Something is coming¨ Ryu thought before watching as the Roof completely collapsed and a huge ship was seen in the sky and the barrier in the middle of the room was broken.

"Slippy, it's good that you're here," said Fox.

"You're late tadpole" said Falco smiling.

"I told you not to call me a tadpole" Slippy said as he entered the room and pointed his blaster at Ryu "No movement mate; the ship's lasers are targeting you and can shoot faster than the speed of sound"

Ryu snorted before raising both hands, the three approached ready to arrest him, but just as they were close, Ryu summoned an orb into his hand and pressed a button, the ship's lasers immediately but it was too late a portal opened taking the three along with Ryu through it, leaving only him Great Fox on the planet.

Venom planet surface

Peppy carefully followed Dark Pit around the planet making sure he wasn't seen, after several minutes flying Dark Pit entered an old Venonian base.

¨What I was afraid they are looking for something from Andross¨ Peppy thought as he watched Dark pit enter the base.

Peppy began to surround the base with her Arwing wondering if she should go back or enter and follow the Dark pit, after debating for a few moments he decided to enter and see exactly what the enemy was looking for, he landed the Arwing hidden on the outskirts and walked to the base.

Once inside, Peppy used his infrared sensor to search for Dark Pit's signal and see where he was going so he could follow him. Once the sensor picked it up, Peppy followed him stealthily until they reached a room deep in the base, there was a huge machine and on top of the machine there were several capsules, at least 30 huge ones while Dark Pit began to search among the Capsules. Peppy hid behind a wall while observing the capsules.

¨It can't be!?, that's Andross!¨ thought Peppy with alarm when he saw several Andross inside each capsule, some were deformed and others were incomplete, but there were dozens.

¨Is he looking to wake them up?¨ Peppy thought as he continued to watch how Dark Pit searched among the capsules until he stopped at one.

"Finally here you are" exclaimed Dark Pit before hitting the capsule and destroying it, inside it was a kind of brilliant diamond with strange symbols.

¨The master will be happy with this¨ Dark pit said before grabbing the Diamond and enveloping it in dark energy.

¨That Diamond, What would they use it for?¨ Peppy thought as he watched carefully and noted everything on her IPad.

"Time to go home" Dark Pit said as he made the diamond disappear, but before he left he turned to Peppy, who immediately hid behind the wall.

"But first I have to kill an old man" exclaimed Dark Pit before summoning two claws into his hands and attacking the wall, knocking it down.

Peppy climbed out of the rubble and immediately started running towards the exit.

¨Slippy, I know what they want, but he discovered me, I may need reinforcements¨ called Peppy on his communicator, but received no answer.

¨Slippy answers¨ Peppy asked again when an explosion sent him flying towards a wall.

¨Ryu should have taken care of them, now is your turn to die¨ exclaimed Dark Pit before firing projectiles that looked like needles with his claws again.

Peppy barely dodged it but some projectiles hit his leg causing him to scream in pain, and he fell to the ground, he tried to get up, but couldn't, Dark Pit approached Peppy with an evil smile.

"Goodbye old man" he said as he pointed his claws, but before he could deliver the final blow, Peppy's body glowed until he finally disappeared from the spot. Dark pit looked around in confusion for a moment before letting out a frustrated sigh.

¨Damn the Hands took him¨ exclaimed Dark Pit before putting away his weapons ¨Okay at least I have the diamond and hopefully Ryu captured the others, time to go back to base¨ he said before disappearing into a dark light.
