Bring the Rain

Sasuke watched as Kakashi and Sakura flanked Tsunade as she stepped into the meeting room where the other Kage waited, already seated around a large circular table. Mifune was there too, which didn't surprise him. He stepped in after her and led the Remnant delegation into the room. In an instant, Sasuke took in all the expression and security of those gathered here. The Raikage in particular seemed cross to see him. Sasuke couldn't say he was surprised though. He had taken the man's arm after all.

The various bodyguards tensed just from laying eyes on him him, but Sasuke himself wasn't really all that concerned. He would have no problem killing everyone in this room. And they knew it. The Uchiha took a deep breath. Part of him just wanted to go ahead and go through with his plans right now. All the Kage were here for the taking except for Gaara. He could be dealt with later, of course. All it would take was a bit of chakra and the room would become a graveyard, but he held back.

Despite knowing he outclassed them, he was no fool. Sasuke knew they would be able to hold him off long enough for Naruto to arrive. And then he would be the one outmatched. Not to mention chopping off the heads of the world's military body would make the Otsutsuki's arrival all the harder to repel. No… Sasuke had to tread carefully. That was fine to him. He could be patient.

"What is he doing here?" grunted the Raikage.

"With Naruto busying himself in the village, Sasuke is our primary translator for our guests. He's the most fluent and having him here will make negotiations go much smoother," said Tsunade. The Raikage's fist slammed into the table solidly. Sasuke could hear Emerald flinch behind him, which he really couldn't fault her for. The killing intent coming off the Raikage was clear and directed in their general direction. He could understand how one could be intimidated by it.

"He's tried to kill all of us!" Said Ay.

"With all due respect, Tsunade… I do not believe he should be here," said the Mizukage. Sasuke saw, more than heard, Tsunade sigh. The way her shoulders moved gave it away. Growing impatient with all of this, Sasuke chose to handle this himself. Before Tsunade could say anything further, Sasuke stepped forward and spoke.

"You're more than welcome to kick me out… if you can." There was the smallest blossom of joy in his heart as he watched the gathered Kage's rage flit across their faces. The challenge was clear. A challenge they would not take up, he knew. When no one said anything, and after a beat he continued, "But we have bigger problems to worry over than being in a room together. Can we move this along?"

"Do your companions know what you've done, boy?" Asked the Tsuchikage.

"More than you know…" Sasuke replied. For Tsunade, that set all sorts of alarms off in her head. She thought back to Naruto covering for him when she'd asked why they'd fought after the war ended and she desperately wished he didn't always have so much goodness in his heart. Some things just shouldn't be forgiven.

"Is there some sort of problem, Sasuke?" Cinder asked, stepping up to him and laying a hand upon his arm. Sakura's eye twitched, but she said nothing.

"It doesn't concern you," Sasuke replied. "They just don't like me."

"Because you tried to kill them once," said Winter. Sasuke glanced back at her briefly but made no comment on her words.

"While rude… Sasuke does have a valid point. This is no time to be concerned with him. Regardless of his actions with the Kage in the past, he has shown that he still has care for the shinobi world. Sasuke is not stupid. We are the military leaders of the Elemental Nations. Without us there is no coordinated strike upon the Otsutsuki. He would not harm us right now," said Tsunade. Her words alone let every shinobi present know that could easily change when the Otsutsuki were gone.

Sasuke did nothing to deny such a thing either, instead he just watched as the Tsuchikage's face reddened and the Raikage tighten his fists.

"As a peace offering, Raikage-sama, Konohagakure presents you with this prosthetic to replace your arm. It has been created from Hashirama-sama's cells. It will connect to your chakra network and be as though you never lost an arm at all," said Sakura, bowing as she presented the Raikage with a wooden box. Ay's eyes narrowed. He wanted to be skeptical, but as deceitful as shinobi could be in general, he'd seen how Tsunade and Sakura worked during the war.

Ultimately, he did not think them liars. Not when it came to medical care. The Raikage sighed.

"I accept," he replied. Sakura stood up straight and stepped forward, sliding the box across the table.

"Now that that has been settled, let us hear from our guests. Could you introduce our guests, Uchiha-san? And introduce us to them as well?" Mifune asked. Sasuke nodded and was just opening his mouth when an explosion rumbled off in the distance. The gathered shinobi and huntresses looked out the window, their eyes taking in the billowing dust cloud off toward the forests. For a moment no one said anything.

And then they felt it.

The power was oppressive and dark. It was as though they'd been thrown down a deep well with no hopes of escaping, no matter how long they clawed at the walls. And then a more familiar chakra clashed with it as the smoke began to disperse and reveal the massive form of the Hachibi and two large hands of sand.

"Is that—" Kankuro began, only to be cut off by Sasuke, his chakra continuing to become more and more prominent in their senses.

"We can't let the Otsutsuki get their hands on their chakra. I'm going." Sasuke turned to the Remnant natives. "Stay here," he added in their tongue. Before they could say anything, or even blink, he vanished.

"Kakashi, Sakura go provide support! Team seven are the only ones who have done battle against the Otsutsuki. I want you all together! We'll gather our forces. Keep them out of the village while we evacuate," Tsunade ordered. The two of them nodded and then dashed off as the other Kage and their aides prepared their messages to call upon their forces.

"Is it the enemy?" Winter asked. Tsunade turned to the guests from Remnant and nodded grimly. Then, brokenly, she spoke in their tongue.

"Go shelter. Will… find friends. For you." The Winter and the others from Remnant had been briefed on the shelter they would need to evacuate to should the Otsutsuki attack close to Konoha. Though they wished to find their companions themselves, Winter gave a reluctant nod.

"Right… okay. We shall lea—" Winter never got the chance to finish speaking. A second, much larger rumble shook the room as a blinding light in the distance briefly incapacitated them all. They'd done what they could to quickly shield their eyes and when they opened them again, through the spotted blur that was their vision, they witness a wave of dust rapidly approaching them. Tsunade cursed as the Tsuchikage brought up a thick wall of earth to protect them just as the windows shattered, glass tearing through the air toward them like a bullet.

When the wall of earth came down, Winter bore witness to a nightmare. Finally, she could understand how the maps could be rewritten from powerful shinobi clashing. Outside the window, a mushroom cloud bloomed into the air as burning meteors hailed from the skies. Each of them was torn apart by a streaking bolt of lightning and what she could only describe as Naruto's black beam of destruction. Winter could see a fire building up in the distance as well and could only imagine a forest of burnt trees being on the maps quite soon.

Just a little earlier that day, Naruto walked with his friends and his girlfriends making their way to the gates of the village so he could see Gaara and introduce him to Yang. Naruto had to admit, he was eager for one of his fellow Jinchuriki to meet her. Outside of Sasuke and Tsunade, they were the closest thing Naruto had to blood relatives when he really thought about it. Karin too he guessed, but he hardly knew her.

"So what's this Gaara like, whiskers?" asked Yang. Naruto looked back at her with a smile and slowed his pace so Yang and Weiss could better catch up to the rest of them.

"He's the best! Gaara's super strong and really cool to be around. He doesn't talk much though. I'd say he kinda reminds me of Blake honestly," Naruto replied. Shikamaru busied himself with translating for Temari at her request (threat).

"Really? That's kinda cool," Yang said. "Is he as moody as her?" Shikamaru almost snorted. Temari actually laughed. Remembering that a younger Gaara was the definition of moody. As horrible as it had been when they were younger, Temari was pleased with her brother's growth as a person and being able to laugh about it all now was almost refreshing. Naruto, on the other hand, had his shoulders shaking from a brief and silent chuckle.

"Nah… not anymore, anyway. Gaara used to be really bad. The Ichibi had a big influence on him and he was uh… well, no better way to put it. He was one of the most homicidal people I've ever met. I got him all straightened out though and his relationship with the Ichibi is pretty good now. He's great to get advice from."

"A male version of Blake… I suppose making his acquaintance would be rather interesting," said Weiss.

"I can't wait to meet hi—" The ground shook as an explosion sounded in the distance. The shinobi's felt the hairs on their bodies stand to attention as a potent chakra swept over them. Naruto saw the smoke rising in the distance as his eyes narrowed and his heart thudded in his chest. "Yang, Weiss stay with Hinata. Hinata, get them out of here! Shikamaru, can you go and make sure baa-chan has an easy time coordinating our shinobi? I have to go."

Naruto only had time to see Shikamaru and Hinata nod before he was blitzing off, six paths sage mode blazing to life upon his body. Within seconds he was on the battlefield. A mere moment after that he was blocking one of Kinshiki's weapons from caving in Gaara's head as one of the Killer B's tentacles swatted at Momoshiki, only to miss as he dodged. Naruto grimaced as a clone appeared at his side and threw its fist into Kinshiki's face, sending the man hurdling backwards.

Everything happened all at once after that. A Rasenshuriken swirled to life in Naruto's right hand as Killer B fell mightily to the ground, his cheek smoking. Momoshiki blurred into view at Naruto's left, a twisting mass of elements building between his palms. As Kinshiki was already bearing down on him with a club from above, Naruto spun about and flicked his Rasenshuriken toward Momoshiki. He was forced to throw his elemental orb into Naruto's jutsu.

For as small as the attacks were, they were packed with chakra and power. The resulting explosion of their meeting crumpled the earth, set the trees ablaze, and blew everyone back, creating a wave of blinding light and dust. Trained as they all were, however, none of them stopped moving. Sand stopped Naruto's and Gaara's backwards flight as their biju helped correct their vision. Their eyes shot open and saw Momoshiki in the sky, backdropped by a growing mushroom cloud. And then, almost as if he'd taken a page out of Madara's book, Momoshiki called upon a rain of meteors.

"Kurama!" Naruto shouted. In the next moment Kurama was forming around him and rising to his feet, a bijudama already charging in his maw. Kinshiki was rushing them again, but the fists of Killer B and Gaara's sand knocked him away as Sasuke seemed to appear out of thin air. He used no discernable jutsu, but his body quickly became wreathed in lightning before he zipped through the air, tearing through meteor after meteor as Naruto fired his bijudama as a beam, swinging it across the sky and demolishing even more of Momoshiki's attack.

"You vermin test my patience!" Momoshiki yelled. He rose an arm, some sort of fire technique building in it as Naruto let his biju transformation end. Momoshiki had no time to block Sasuke's electrified charge into his back. Screaming out, Momoshiki misfired his jutsu and it careened harmlessly into the ground below. Or, it would have been harmless. But it sparked another booming explosion that destabilized Gaara's sand and allowed Kinshiki to break past his barrier and bulldoze Naruto, shoulder first.

He was carried into a tree. And then through it. And another. He only managed to stop himself by digging chakra arms into the dirt, carving out deep trenches into the ground. With Kinshiki finally brought to a stop, Naruto brought a knee into his ribs, lifting him off his feet only for two chakra arms to smack him into the ground. Before the larger Otsutsuki could get to his feet again, Naruto grabbed hold of him with another chakra arm, spun him about and launched him into the sky. A steam release rasenshuriken whizzing after him.

"Naruto!" yelled Sasuke. Naruto looked up to see Momoshiki tumbling toward him. Smiling, Naruto breathed in and then spat a large blue and black fireball from his mouth only for it to quickly split apart. The multiple fireballs converged on Momoshiki and pelted him as his rasenshuriken found Kinshiki. More smoke clouded their vision of their foes as Sasuke appeared at his side. All was silent and the brief reprieve gave them time to think. Time Naruto used to question what exactly was going on.

"They weren't hurt," said Naruto.

"I noticed," Sasuke replied.

"They shouldn't have had any time to heal up… aren't they here too early?" Naruto wondered. Sasuke's scowl deepened. They were here early.

"They are… so who's to say they didn't arrive earlier? Biding their time until they felt strong enough to do battle," he replied. Naruto exhaled a sigh as the smoke began to clear. The silhouettes of the Otsutsuki becoming visible. Momoshiki moved an arm and dispersed the dust. Their clothing was tattered, but they didn't look too worse for wear themselves.

"How are you and B holding up, Gaara?" Naruto asked.

"We are tired. They attacked at the tail end of our training," Gaara replied. Sasuke couldn't help but wonder how long the Otsutsuki might have been lurking around Konoha. The one day Gaara and Killer B didn't have their full entourage of protection just so happens to be when the Otsutsuki chose to strike? Right at the same time that Naruto and Sasuke would be separated from one another? Sasuke didn't buy it.

"They planned this," said Sasuke.

"Well it was bound to fail, now let's give em' hell! Our might is tight. They can't win this fight! Bakayaro, Konoyaro!"

"All you jinchuriki are weird," said Sasuke, staring at Killer B blankly. Naruto chuckled, but let the gravity of the situation take him again as he looked up.

"Can you guys just give us support? You're tired and if they get ahold of you for too long the biju are as good as theirs. We're a little stronger than them right now, but if they get ahold of any more power that could easily change," said Naruto. Killer B and Gaara gave him the okay and from there there was no more talking.

Momoshiki and Kinshiki began a slow descent for all of two seconds. Then they were screaming down to earth like meteorites. Naruto and Sasuke leapt at them, and the meeting of their fists created a boom. With gritted teeth, Momoshiki twisted his body about and landed a furious kick into Sasuke's side. He rocketed into the dirt, but not without uppercutting Kinshiki higher into the air.

Angry, Naruto's hand shot up toward Momoshiki's face, only for the other man to dodge and bring a knee into Naruto's gut. Expecting him to fly back, Momoshiki was instead shocked to find him unmoving. A hand of chakra was peeking from out of Naruto's stomach and had caught the foot easily. The double fisted hammer blow that sent Momoshiki down to earth was his punishment. Momoshiki growled as one of the chunks of earth right in front of him that had been tossed into the air from his impact was suddenly Sasuke, the man already twisting into a kick that caught Momoshiki in his jaw.

Momoshiki flew through three trees and before Sasuke could land, Kinshiki came flying at him, easily tearing through Gaara's intervening sand barrier and tackling Sasuke to the ground. Kinshiki rose a meaty fist and slammed it into Sasuke's face, the land beneath them shuddered, and did so again upon Kinshiki's second strike. He lifted his hand for a third strike, only to be met with a golden fist. Lifted off his knees, his head snapping up to the sky, Kinshiki's eyes widened to see Sasuke falling toward him, katana in hand and sparking. Kinshiki attempted to move, but Killer B and Gaara used tentacles and sand to root his legs in place.

Kinshiki tried to create one of his weapons, but Sasuke was too fast. With the sound of a thousand birds, Sasuke sliced clean through Kinshiki's right arm. The Otsutsuki screamed out and Sasuke suppressed a smile as the man's arm dropped to the earth with a meaty thunk.

"Vermin!" Momoshiki screeched, running at Sasuke with rage contorting his face. It was clear to the shinobi that he saw nothing but red. Sasuke smirked. That was good. Right before Momoshiki's flattened hand could touch him, Sasuke swapped placed with Kinshiki and let him be impaled instead. Momoshiki's eyes widened as Kinshiki spat blood all over his arm.

"Rasengan!" In his shock and distraction, Momoshiki never saw Naruto blitz him. He only had time to turn his head to the left before taking a Rasengan to the ribs. His body folded. Bones cracked and grinded into smaller bits as he was lifted from his feet and sent spinning into a rock nearby, taking Kinshiki with him.

"We pounded those clowns! They finally down?" Killer B asked.

"I doubt it," said Sasuke. The fight had only lasted for a minute or two at best. Vicious as it was, Sasuke had his doubts about them being down for the count.

"Where are the enemies?" Kakashi asked as he and Sakura landed behind them. Sakura paid him and Naruto no mind as she went to tend to Gaara and Killer B.

"Crashed into a rock and kicked up some dust up ahead." Naruto pointed at where they landed and the small group watched with held breath. Sasuke considered torching the spot with Amaterasu, but he didn't really trust his jutsu not to be absorbed.

"Stay alert," Kakashi ordered, more on reflex than anything. He could already tell his students were more than prepared to get back into battle. Their bodies were tense enough that he could tell they were ready even without a sharingan. It was a good thing that they were too. The dust began to clear to reveal a horrid scene to them.

"Use me, Momoshiki-sama…" said Kinshiki. He was lying against the rock, Momoshiki standing over him. "Do not hesitate."

"I would never," Momoshiki replied. And then they all watched as he lifted the same arm he'd impaled Kinshiki with. There was a glow around the two of them and then Kinshiki was turned into a seed. Naruto and Sasuke couldn't explain it, but they knew that Momoshiki's next move couldn't be allowed to happen. Their bodies flew into action, but it was too late.

Momoshiki grabbed the seed and tossed it into his mouth, swallowing.

And then he changed. His horns and his hair lengthened, the skin from his hairline to just beneath his nose, as well as as what they could see of his chest and neck, plus the roots of his horns turned from white to black. The rinnegan on his hands and his forehead changed colors to gold, as did his byakugan. A second later they all felt the sudden cold oppression of Momoshiki's chakra bear down on them.

It was like night and day. Before absorbing Kinshiki, Momoshiki's power was nothing close to this. And now Naruto and Sasuke were moving toward him at nigh unstoppable speed.

"Die, vermin! Kinshiki shall be avenged!" Momoshiki swung up an arm and a raging blaze exploded out of his hands, engulfing them.

That's that. Momoshiki reveals his final form and the Otsutsuki threat is almost at an end. This is a little weird to be honest. FFH is nearing its end. There isn't much more I have left to write out here after this threat ends… well, sort of. There is still Salem of course, but she's not nearly as much of a threat as the Otsutsuki were. Next chapter we'll probably check in on Raven, Yang, and Weiss. I hope to hear from you guys then.

If there are any questions you all have, feel free to leave a review. If you want some sort of more in-depth discussion, then go ahead join the discord.
