A/N - A nice dose of fluff to balance out the intensity of the last chapter.

I will say right now for everyone though.

I. Will. NEVER. Corrupt Eri.

The innocent unicorn, STAYS innocent, and far away from the madness that's going on in UA, until it's over.

"Mommy"

Inko Midoriya gasped as she thought she heard her son calling out to her in distress. Her maternal instincts screaming at her that something was wrong.

All she could do was sigh though, as she sat on a couch at the police station nearest UA, waiting for more information on the recent lockdown.

"Please be safe baby…" she mumbled quietly as more tears gathered at the corners of her eyes.

SCREEEE!

She quickly looked up at the sound of metal chairs scraping across the floor, to see the officers and pro-heroes, all backing away from her as if she were a bomb about to go off.

She then gave a bashful smile as she saw someone with a bucket and mop, peek around the corner while trembling in fear.

She couldn't blame them. She had already flooded the place with tears when they first brought her in to explain the situation.

"It's alright, I'm good for now" she assured them weakly and they took a moment before deciding to believe her. They all sighed in relief as they went back to their desks.

Inko's face fell though as she looked over at the nearby TV and the news channel that was reporting on the situation.

Nezu was being tight lipped about the situation, claiming he was too busy insuring the safety of the students. A statement that should have invoked feelings of safety and reassurance.

Inko had a hard time believing it though. Her precious Izuku had already been hurt too many times while under UA's protection for her liking. And if Nezu was so busy, then just what was happening inside to keep him busy.

Nezu had claimed that everyone was ok and he was merely taking steps to keep it that way, but Inko couldn't help the doubt the creeped in.

Detective Tsukauchi then walked up to her with a glass of water for the, probably dehydrated, mother.

"Thank you detective…" Inko muttered quietly as she accepted the glass with a weak smile.

Tsukauchi gave her a smile as he stood there.

"It's no trouble Mrs. Midoriya" he said before looking to the news reports.

"Nezu finally had the chance to give us an update by the way. Apparently one of the students had an issue with their quirk and that's why the school is under quarantine" he explained and Inko's gaze fixed on him.

"That's it!?…but then how bad is it and how did this happen?" she asked in disbelief that it could be something so mundane. Quirk related incidents were more commonly experienced in kindergarten and such, when people were still learning how to control them.

Tsukauchi gave an exasperated sigh and shook his head in response.

"I can't disclose all the details yet and Nezu doesn't want to give away too much unless it's in-person, but the gist of it, is that one of the student's doctors falsified information about their quirk, which lead to this situation" he explained as much as he could.

Inko's face filled with disbelief and disgust at the information.

"What! What kind of doctor would do that!?" she exclaimed but grimaced as they heard a tiny whimper and looked down to see Eri stirring slightly, before falling back to sleep in Inko's lap, causing her to sigh in relief.

Eri's situation was an interesting one. Most of the time she stayed with Aizawa, but since she started getting older and got better control of her quirk, she had started staying with Inko when Aizawa couldn't look after her and she wasn't overly stressed, which could trigger her quirk.

Now Inko's main concern, aside from Izuku, was keeping the little girl happy and calm, especially with Aizawa trapped in UA and unable to shut off her quirk if it went rampant.

So far Eri had been the picture of calm though. Much more then Inko in any case. When asked why she was so calm, her only response was "big brother will take care of everything" followed by a confident and innocent smile that disturbingly looked like an unholy hybrid of All Might and Aizawa's smiles.

Inko sighed in fondness and shame. Unlike her and in spite of her efforts to change, Eri had complete faith in Izuku. She believed he would deal with the entire situation no matter what it was, and was easily the least stressed person in the building.

Inko heard a chuckle and looked up at the detective, who was smiling down fondly at Eri.

"I know you're probably not going to do it, but you might as well go home Mrs. Midoriya. There's nothing to be done here until the lockdown is lifted, and if I know your son, then he has everything well in hand" he said with a confident smile.

Rather then protest, Inko sighed as she looked down in shame. Even the police and pro-heroes had more faith in her son.

She had tried to change that, but it was hard when he always came back with more and more scars and injuries.

But then he'd also come back with Eri, and Inko still received a litany of thank you cards that kept getting sent to her house by mistake, from several people he'd saved during his internships and work assignments.

Inko's attention was then pulled back to Eri again, as she slept in her lap.

"No, you're…you're right… Izuku can…he can take care of himself now…and I need to take Eri back home so she can get some rest…" Inko said, though it sounded like she was struggling to say the words.

Tsukauchi smiled at her though as he offered her a hand and took the now empty glass.

"I can help you get back if you want" he offered but Inko refused with a grateful smile, after standing up while holding the sleeping Eir.

"That's alright, I can make my way without any issues" she assured him, though she secretly also wanted some privacy, in case she broke down into tears again.

Wether or not that counted as a lie, Inko didn't know, but Tsukauchi didn't comment ether way.

"Well good luck Mrs. Midoriya. We'll keep you informed of any developments" he promised as he waved goodbye, which Inko returned with a smile.

"That's right…Izuku isn't a child anymore…he can take care of himself now…" Inko thought with the intent of reassuring herself as she walked the halls of the police station, but it only reminded her that her baby wasn't a baby anymore.

Eri's horn poked Inko's cheek as her head lulled to the side on her shoulder.

"Big brother…(snore)…smash…(snore)…" Eri mumbled in her sleep as she drooled slightly on Inko's shoulder.

The woman only smiled fondly at her though. It was almost like having a child again, or like being a grandmother.

Inko's smile then turned a little mischievous at that thought.

"That's right…Izuku isn't a child anymore…maybe it's time I start teasing him about those girls that he hasn't realized are crushing on him…maybe I'll even get some grand-babies in a few years" she thought with a conspiratorial grin.

Inko's scheming was interrupted by her bumping into someone as she rounded the corner.

"Oh, I'm sorry"

They both spoke at the same time, only to pause and blink at each other.

"Kota!?"

"Gran- I mean, Mrs. Midoriya!?"

They both exclaimed in surprise.

The two grimaced though as Eri stirred, but sighed in relief as she proceeded to snore again with a quiet yell of "smash".

Kota blushed before turning his attention back to Inko and avoiding looking at Eri.

"W-what are you doing here?" he asked, only to then facepalm as he remembered the obvious.

Inko just giggled lightly at the boy's antics. He and Eri both were growing up into fine preteens.

"Just waiting for any news about UA. I'm actually taking Eri back home for now though. What about you Kota. Where's your aunt?" she asked but grew concerned as the boy's face fell.

"She…she's stuck inside UA with the others…" he explained with worry and Inko kneeled down a little to be eye level with him. It wasn't to hard though, given how short she was and how tall he was getting.

"I…well I guess you've heard the same old apologies as much as I have…" Inko said with a weak smile and Kota gave a chocked laugh of his own before focusing on her.

"The agency came here to scout for new sidekicks, since graduation is so close…" he started but then blushed and looked away in embarrassment.

"But I…I had to use the bathroom on the way and Tiger stayed with me while the others went ahead in…" he admitted while looking away.

Inko smiled at the boy.

"Well don't worry. From what I've heard, it's nothing life threatening, and the school is full of heroes anyway" she said, though she did feel a bit like a hypocrite, spouting the same platitudes she had trouble believing.

Kota just smiled at her though with renewed vigor.

"Yah, and Deku's in there, so I'm sure everything will work out fine" he said excitedly, in a fashion that remained Inko of Izuku when he was younger and fanboying over All Might.

The nostalgia was undertoned by a ping of guilt though, as there was yet another person who had more faith in her son then she did earlier in his life.

Another soul touched by his deeds and forever changed.

She didn't let it show on her face though, as she continued smiling.

"Yes…I'm sure everything will be fine…" she said a little weakly.

"(Snore)… too much muttering… (snore) brain hurt…(snore)" Eri babbled in her sleep, casing Kota to look away with a blush while Inko smiled at the girl.

"Well, I better get her home…take care Kota" Inko waved goodbye to the boy, who returned it with a smile before heading on his way.

Inko smiled as he went before heading out herself, while trying to distract from her guilt.

"Just think about future grandbabies Inko. In a few years you'll have a little one coming to visit you and be spoiled rotten" she thought and found her spirits lifting at the fantasy of a little carbon copy of her Izuku when he was a toddler.

It was much easier then she expected, with Eri sleeping in her arms.

The moment she stepped outside though, she jolted and a chill ran down her spine, as she could have sworn she heard a distant voice on the wind, crying out.

"I'M YOUR MOMMY NOW MIDORIYA!!!"

Inko shivered before shaking her head clear.

Surly her stressed mind was just playing tricks on her. It was so quiet and distant that it was hardly intelligible after all. It could only have been the wind and her imagination right.

Right…

Inko gulped as she got a foreboding feeling and her mom instincts screamed once again that something was terribly wrong.

She shook her head though, as she tried to banish those thoughts. She had to take care of Eri after all. Izuku would be fine. He would live a long and happy life and give her plenty of grandkids to spoil…

So why did that thought fill her with a sense of impending doom.
