A/N: Another alternate take on the possible end... because I still had so many ideas. And this one still poke on me wanting to be unleashed. Not to mention I still fancied Suel to come back again like some tired FF final boss wwww
He knew it, the moment that he finally defeated Suel for good—for real this time—everything would finally come to an end. The end result wouldn't just be like when he defeated Jitt prior—or how Keiwa had finally defeated Kekera. There wouldn't be yet another Secret Final Boss popping out anymore once the supposed Final Boss had been defeated.
Finally... finally, all of them could truly get a taste of victory in the end. A happy ending. It'll come at a cost, yes... but at least his ideal world could finally be reached.
It didn't make it any less scary though... and yes, he was terrified. His ideal world where everyone could be happy will be realised, yet he wouldn't be around to see it come to fruition. The people precious to him would be able to get their happy endings... but he wouldn't be around with them to fully enjoy that happy outcome.
Perhaps it was because of that small hint of fear as well... that he ended up taking him along to keep him company during his final moments. Or maybe it was not him, but Keiwa was the one who had reached out to him... before he was pulled back towards the place which would be his final resting place—!
.
"I guess this is it... after this, we wouldn't be able to see each other again—" he tried to sound casual about it, that he didn't really care if he'd end up dying after the petrification of his body was completed. Though Keiwa should've been able to tell easily that he was terrified; as if his own shaky voice wasn't a clear indicator. Trying to say goodbye to someone who has taken a special place in your heart was really hard, wasn't it?
"Idiot!" said Keiwa, as Ace glanced up to look at him... still teary-eyed. "Ace is such an idiot! What did you mean that this is our last goodbye?"
Ace just stared back at Keiwa dumbfounded. How could Keiwa be saying that to him now? Especially when almost half of his body right now had been turned into stone. It's just about time now... once his last wish of cleansing the last remains of the DGP from this world for good had been completed, the petrification process of his whole body will also become complete. And after that, he'll just be a soulless statue whose only purpose was to grant the wishes of people who desired happiness for themselves in his new world. That'll be the new purpose of his existence... and that should be enough for him.
But apparently, Keiwa disagreed about that.
.
Without warning, Keiwa started to try to pry away the barbs and vines that had been binding Ace in place. And when Keiwa's hand accidentally touched a part of Ace's body that had been completely turned to stone, Keiwa winced in pain as if he had just touched something corrosive.
"No... Keiwa, stop it! You'll just be hurting yourself only!" cried Ace as Keiwa kept trying to dig his fingers into the tiny spaces between the barbs and Ace's body to try to loosen its hold on Ace. "There's no point to this, I don't want you to get hurt!"
Keiwa groaned out in pain as he pulled on the barbs around Ace's left arm in vain.
"If it hurts you so much to see me in pain—" he gasped as Keiwa turned his attention towards the barbs around Ace's chest. "—how did you think I'd feel seeing you like this? You can't seriously think that I would sit still and not do anything for you!"
"But what else can be done about this? I don't want you to be caught in this as well!"
"Then why on earth did you take me back here? Don't tell me that you also weren't desperately seeking someone to help you?!"
Ace was about to answer back before noticing that part of Keiwa's fingers that have been touching his body and the barbs had also started to become petrified—as well as Keiwa's feet and legs. And it seemed the petrification of Keiwa's body was happening a lot faster than his own!
"Keiwa—no! Get away from me—let go! At this rate, even you will end up becoming stone and die!"
"I won't leave you here by yourself! I won't let you face this alone! I won't let you be alone, we'll do this together!" Keiwa glanced up at him with difficulty, as his own movements started to be restrained. "I won't give up on you, I'll save you for sure! Didn't you say this to me before? As long as I believed... it would surely come true!"
Keiwa eventually gave up trying to get the barbs to loosen around Ace's body, and opted to wrap his arms around Ace's neck and held the other man's body close. While he himself could still move his body...
"Keiwa—!" Ace cried out again, as he felt Keiwa's body rapidly losing warmth against his own. "How about your sister? Sara-san—you can't!" he cried some more, even when Keiwa could no longer hear his voice anymore. Both of their bodies started to glow brightly as Ace closed his eyes tight.
So this is it... his final moments. But instead of 'leaving' alone, he had Keiwa joining him to keep him company.
For better or worse.
.
Now a new world would be born at last.
A world where Everyone could be happy.
A/N2: Hehehe
