8:43 P.M. – Kedaro Station, Cordelion

"Wow," Ashley gasped once she entered the room that Glitch had led her to, and beheld, in all its majesty, the Rubicon Forge that she had spent most of her entire interdimensional trip searching for.

"It looks even more advanced than the one on our Cordelion," Glitch noted.

"Then that means building this thing should be a snap," Ashley quipped. "Do you still have the schematics from the IRIS Supercomputer?"

"Ready to go," Glitch answered. "Just head up to the main control console and we can get started."

Ashley ran up the walkway to the second level of the room and right to the main control console, holding her wrist device towards the computer so Glitch could upload the schematics.

Following Glitch's instructions to the latter (because she remembered how extensive the damage was when some fool had tried to build something incredibly at their Rubicon Forge with only the auxiliary power), Ashley typed in everything she needed to and pressed the power button.

Despite some rust from probably quite the long period of inactivity, the Rubicon Forge quickly spun to life and started building.

Ashley simply stood there and watched the forge do its thing, realizing that she was so close to finally fixing the dimensional chaos unfolding around her.

It was only a matter of time now.

It wouldn't be much longer before she could take the fight to Emperor Terrence and avenge everyone in her world who had fallen at his hands.

I hope you're ready, 'Emperor', because your time is almost at an end, Ashley thought.

Mat49324 and The Blue Time Ranger are proud to present:

Totally Spies: The New Adventures

Episode 87: Grim Tide-ings

Story Rated: T for Teen

Story Created: July 29th, 2023

Story Summary: The one-hundred and nineteenth co-op project between Mat49324 and The Blue Time Ranger, and episode eighty-seven of our mission-based series Totally Spies: The New Adventures. Summer is truckin' on, but people going to public pools might not be having as much fun, considering the kidnappings and other stuff going on. However, despite Frankie Dude being the spies' main suspect, the culprit is actually another brand new villain who goes by the name of "The Wavemaster", obsessed with flooding the surrounding areas, all because he believes the world is better off underwater. Can the spies take down this marauding master of marine life before he ruins the summer for the spies, and possibly all of Beverly Hills?

Author's Notes from Mat49324: It's time for #87, and we're just one step closer to the end of our seventh season. We hope you liked our last project, Button Mashers, and that you take a liking to this next project, Grim Tide-ings, which will have quite a bit of water involved if I do say so myself. Basically, I got the idea from a scene in the 2009 movie Hole, that involved a swimming pool and a mysterious character. So, I'm using that as a project here. On top of that, we're having an original villain this time, and I'll leave it at that. Anyway, here's The Blue Time Ranger for anything he'd like to say.

Author's Notes from The Blue Time Ranger: We're at the penultimate episode of season seven of The New Adventures, and we've got an original villain making his debut! Why now and not next episode, you ask? Well, I'm doing it to make up for the fact that, for the first time in The New Adventures, the villain of the upcoming season finale is NOT an original villain. If you've followed Ashley's adventures all season long, you know who the final S7 baddie is. But for right now, let's catch some waves! ROLL IT!

And Now, the Obligatory Disclaimer: Mat49324 and The Blue Time Ranger do not own anything related to Totally Spies or any of its affiliations. It belongs solely to Marathon Media Group, Image Entertainment Corporation, Vincent Chalvon-Demersay, and David Michel. The only things of this story we DO own are any characters or locations created by us truly for the story. Besides, if we did own Totally Spies, which we don't, why would we be writing fiction on a fan site?

Act 1: Fluid Air

11:02 A.M. – The Spies' Beach House

It was another usual summer day off for the spies in Beverly Hills. They had returned a while ago from Akihabara, and other parts of Japan, to aid Idol Opportunity from the troubles of one Skip Joystick.

Currently, Nick came out the front door in his board shorts ready for the next car wash battle. Haruka was right behind him, and just like last time the spies were poolside, she went with a two-piece again.

"You set for that car wash battle, Haruka?" Nick asked, sensing Haruka behind him.

"No doubt I am," Haruka giggled as she teased him with a pose.

Nick simply responded by taking the hose and blasting Haruka in the back with it.

"You already got your freebie, goofball," Nick chuckled.

"Then I guess we're doing this the old-fashioned way," Haruka giggled as she jumped forward to snatch the hose away from Nick and start making him 'dance' with it.

While Nick and Haruka were car washing and battling each other, Mat and a few of the spies were indoors checking out round 5 of the 2009 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship – the 450 class to be exact. Calling the race were Racer X Writer Jason Weigandt, and 4-time AMA Motocross champ Jeff Emig, with Erin Bates as the pit reporter.

Mat, May, Bridget, Melissa, and Alex were surprised to hear in the introduction that Suzuki's Mike Alessi #800 had returned only two weeks after breaking his kneecap and surrendering his points lead.

"That's freaking crazy!" Bridget exclaimed.

Mat was speechless and shaking his head as the second moto was minutes away from beginning.

However, part of the moto 1 highlights left Mat shaking his head in the end. Why? On the opening lap, Joe Gibbs Yamaha's Josh Grant sent the wounded Alessi to the dirt at Thunder Valley.

Jeff: This is after a great start by Mike Alessi in the first lap – [Josh] Grant comes in with a very aggressive move, just cleans the front wheel out...

Alessi crawled off the track with that bad knee, but he still got back on his 450 Suzuki and continued... only to pull out two laps later.

"He's got guts to keep going even after a crash like that, even if it only lasted a couple laps," Alex quipped.

"Tell me about it," Bridget replied. "When I sprained my ankle a few years ago, trust me, it hurt."

Jason: ...That was the end of moto #1. Erin caught up with him in his motorhome.

During his interview, Alessi had an ice pack on his left kneecap. and he tried to hold out hope on riding the second moto.

Mike Alessi: I think I was second or third... right there off the start, and quite a few guys got by me right there in the beginning cause their pace was going really fast right from the beginning, and I knew that was gonna happen. I was trying to stay with those guys, and then, all of a sudden, I just got by... someone just came in the inside and hit me really hard and took me down, and his first thing I felt was my knee – obviously because it fell, but I think it's okay we just got to ice it and... I don't know; I think I can still try and make the second moto – that's my mentality: I don't give up. And even after I crashed, I tried to go another two laps, but it was it was hurting. So, I'm gonna try and do the second moto I think, but we'll talk it over with the team.

Unfortunately, the pain finally set in after the interview, and the odds of him lining up for the second moto were almost nothing.

Jason: Now the pain sets in... he put a stiff upper lip on for the interview with Erin, but we'll see if Mike can summon the courage to race moto two.

"Honestly, that was a bit of a dick move on Grant's part in my view," Mat commented as the program went to commercial. "I know they have history going back to amateur days, but that's honestly not cool to kick a man while he's down – especially when Alessi did a similar thing to Ryan Hughes in 2003."

"Personally, I'd agree," Melissa commented as Sam came to sit with Mat.

"Yeah, I mean, you don't have to add insult to injury," Dawn responded.

"Don't be that dick, basically," May added.

"Did a similar thing to Ryan Hughes?" Blaine wondered.

"I say that because Ryan Hughes raced with a broken fibula at Southwick 2003," Mat replied.

"Yikes, and I thought Zoey was stubborn," Bridget chuckled.

"No kidding," Sam noted.

In the meantime, Clover was checking out Nick and Haruka's "battle."

"Not to change the subject, but I call the next battle," Clover told the others.

"Oh, heck it, I'll join you," Bridget giggled.

Simultaneously, the full moto 1 highlights showed Alessi's crash, and a big pileup of several riders, but Alessi did not get hit, fortunately.

Up front, Honda ran 1, 2, and 3 with Ivan Tedesco #9, teammate Andrew Short #29, and Troy Lee Designs Honda's Jake Moss #42 in 3rd. Suzuki's Chad Reed, the points leader, got around Moss for 3rd. The winner of moto 1... Ivan Tedesco; Short and Reed rounded out the top 3.

During a pre-race report from Erin Bates, it was confirmed that Mike Alessi would not line up for moto 2.

"I figured," Mat deduced. "But it's racing, what can ya do?"

With that, the second moto got under way. Tedesco and Short got out front early and ran 1 and 2 with Suzuki's Michael Byrne #26 in 3rd.

"Man, I don't see Reed anywhere!" Mat chastised.

"Sounds like you were thinking Reed would excel here," Blaine told Mat since they were racing under the lights.

"Exactly," Mat replied. "It's similar to Daytona in a way."

As far as Chad Reed was concerned, the timing and scoring found him in 9th place... much to Mat's dismay – a big turn of events after Reed swept the motos at High Point, the last race.

"Well, it's still early," May stated. "Hopefully he can do something..."

Meanwhile...

"WATCH THE FACE!" Haruka sputtered as Nick retaliated.

"Oh, did I do that?" Nick teased.

"All right, then, prepare for my secret technique!" Haruka exclaimed, spraying a blast of water into the air before doing another pose to distract Nick long enough for the water to fall down and drench him.

"Ooh, you're a bad girl, Haruka!" Nick chastised after Haruka had sprayed water down his board shorts.

"I'm the bad girl?!" Haruka retorted. "What's your excuse?! You didn't think I wasn't going to let you get away with spraying me under my bikini, did you?!"

"Hey, turnabout is fair play, am I right?" Nick laughed as he sprayed the hose in multiple directions to keep Haruka guessing.

"Well, since you asked so nicely," Haruka quipped, jumping forward to attempt to grab the hose from Nick's clutches.

Back inside, the second 450 moto was still going on, and Honda's Tedesco still led the way... having pulled a big gap on his teammate Short – over five seconds to be exact.

In the meantime, Hahn had caught Short for 2nd place.

"Wow, this is one helluva ride from Hahn," Mat commented.

Jason: ...Hahn is just starting to build – he puts in a few more rides like this and... who knows what this kid can do?

"I know he can ride good," Mat replied. "It stuns me how much bad luck he goes through."

"Like what?" Bridget wondered.

"Well, not getting starts, stupid things happening, etc.," Mat answered. "I still remember Orlando '07 when he got the holeshot in the Lites main, only for a red flag to come out; that kind of stuff can hold you back!"

In the meantime, Hahn was already setting Short up for a pass.

Jeff: He's applying the pressure, and Short's doing a great job of holding him off right here... gets a little sideways there. That's gonna allow Hahn to get the inside, can he hold it...

Jason: Mistake by Hahn, but he STILL going to be able to pull off the pass on Short!

Jeff: How did he stand? He almost got drug off the bike! The front wheel skipped out a couple times...

"Holy crap!" Mat exclaimed, completely shocked at Hahn's ride and a replay of the pass came up. "I don't know what Short was thinking going wide like that!"

"You're not kidding," Alex stated. "It's almost like he forgot Hahn was there!"

"It only takes that one wrong curve and someone's passing you by," Bridget quipped. "A lesson I learned well in track."

As for Chad Reed, he was still down in 8th place, much to Mat's dismay; it hurt him even more hearing that Reed was 11th fastest in practice and had struggled badly in the first moto despite finishing 3rd. He then moved into 7th around off-road racer, Scott Summers, on a #81 Yamaha.

"Mat, are you still confident Chad Reed's going to win the series?" Melissa wondered.

"Yeah, but this moto 2 ride is not what I was thinking he'd do," Mat answered. "I'm hoping Alessi being taken out by Grant didn't deflate anything on Reed's behalf..."

"Hope not," Sam told Mat, especially after seeing how angry Mat was through much of the Supercross season.

As the moto wound down, Short managed to work his way back around Tommy Hahn into 2nd place after Hahn had reportedly went off the track.

"I didn't expect Tedesco to go unchallenged as well here, too," Mat added.

As the final lap ended, Tedesco's mechanic cheered.

Jason: Here it is, folks! It's been a long time coming, but Ivan Tedesco is going to WIN BOTH MOTOS AND THE OVERALL HERE AT THE NIGHT RACE IN COLORADO! And look at Short and Hahn... as Tedesco was enjoying that victory lap, those two nearly caught him.

Jeff: What a ride for Ivan Tedesco... takes home his first overall!

Short and Hahn had crossed the line about 1 or 2 seconds after Tedesco won the second moto and the overall!

As for Chad Reed, he came home 7th in the second moto, much to Mat's dismay. In the overall, it was Tedesco with the 1-1 sweep, Short with the 2-2 for 2nd overall, and Tommy Hahn and Chad Reed tied with 7-3 and 3-7 moto scores (34 pts. each), but Hahn got 3rd overall due to the better second moto finish.

Mat looked disappointed in Reed's 4th place overall finish, but there were still 6 more rounds remaining in the 12-round series.

"Your take, Mat?" Bridget wondered.

"Well, I'm not surprised that Ivan Tedesco won in a Supercross-like setting, but Tommy Hahn really shocked me," Mat answered. "I'm not worried about Reed's performance since he had a big enough lead, but considering what happened to Mike Alessi, it could've been worse for Chad Reed."

"Yeah, that's true," Melissa commented.

"As far as Tedesco goes, he's a 2-time 125 West Supercross champ, so these settings didn't really surprise me," Mat added. "Especially when he won this race in the daytime back in 2005 in the 125 class en route to that title."

It was also Honda's first 450 Motocross win since Kevin Windham at Unadilla in 2007.

Fortunately, Chad Reed was still the points leader (195) by 14 over Andrew Short, much to Mat's liking; Bridget knew she didn't have to repeat to Mat that they all believed in Chad Reed just as much as he did.

"Well, Mat, if anybody's due for that kind of happiness, it's you," Britney quipped.

The spies then heard taps at the window. They saw that was Nick and Haruka, and they were near the pool soaking wet instead of doing their car wash battle.

"You got towels?" Nick asked from outside.

Alex and Bridget came outside with towels, as the rest of the spies joined them.

"Dude, you two must have been going at it!" Blaine exclaimed to Nick.

"That's putting it extremely mildly, Blaine," Haruka chuckled.

"Let's just say that you all missed a hell of a showdown," Nick quipped.

"By the way, Clover and Bridget called the next one," Alex laughed as Nick took his towel.

The spies then heard a splash and saw Haruka had jumped in the pool.

"Anyone wanna follow my example?" Haruka quipped.

"Yeah, I'm definitely doin' that," May chuckled.

However, once all thirteen spies were in the pool, they suddenly heard a beep, followed by all of them being pulled underwater, faster than Nick could react to this time around.

12:35 P.M. – W.O.O.H.P. Headquarters

Jerry's Office

"Nice of you all to take the plunge here," Jerry chuckled as the spies all dried themselves off before changing into their spy suits.

"...I'm not going to dignify that," Clover quipped.

Jerry gestured to the viewscreen, which was showing many different pools and water parks across Beverly Hills.

"Recently, we've noticed some strange disturbances around water parks and pools across the state," Jerry explained.

"But here's the odd thing," RiCO proclaimed after materializing in the office. "We thought people were being kidnapped at first, but when we looked further, those 'kidnapped' people were back at the pool with seemingly nothing wrong."

"And we've all been in this business long enough to know that there's definitely something suspicious going on," Nick quipped.

"If it's about pools and water parks, I'm willing to bet that it's Frankie Dude again," Britney stated.

"That's the other strange part," RiCO answered, waving her hand to change the viewscreen to a video feed of the containment facility. "Frankie Dude's currently locked up, and it doesn't look like there's been any breakouts recently."

"I wonder if that means there's a new villain lurking about?" Alex wondered. "Two new baddies in just as many capers. That's a rare feat for us lately, methinks."

"Was The Flow one of the places you investigated?" Mat asked.

"I was just about to mention that, actually," RiCO chuckled. "That's where we'd have you all investigate first, since it's the closest."

The spies all grabbed their gadgets before RiCO sent them out of the office to begin their investigation.

12:57 P.M. – The Flow

"Everything looks normal, to be honest," Britney noted when the spies had arrived at The Flow.

"But let's see just how normal everything actually is," Nick responded, spreading his hands out and using his psychic radar to sweep the area for any signs of out-of-place thoughts or suspicious activity.

The spies all followed Nick through the park, noticing how his gaze occasionally moved towards random swimmers.

"Anything interesting, Nick?" Melissa wondered.

"From what I can gather, they all seem normal, but I'm picking up a lot of thoughts that go something like 'dirtying the great ocean' and 'defiling precious resources'. It's kinda concerning, actually," Nick answered.

"Probably because of our baddie," Sam quipped. "Speaking of which..."

"Hold that thought, Sammy, because I think I just hit paydirt," Nick cut in. "I'm picking up some devious-sounding thoughts on the rooftop. I think we'd better go check this out."

The spies all headed for the rooftop, and sure enough, they found their target standing on the roof of The Flow, overlooking the city of Beverly Hills. The figure was covered in a dark blue robe decorated with images of random aquatic life.

"All right, buddy, you want to start explaining yourself?" Nick stated. "Because if you're up to something, we'd rather just kick your keester so we can get back to our summer already."

The figure slowly turned around to face the spies.

"Have you ever considered this?" the figure proclaimed. "The sea is an irreplaceable treasure for every living thing on this planet. But with our selfish extravagance, humanity dirties the great ocean, destroying this source of all life..."

The figure started walking around while continuing his ranting. "Day by day, we're all destroying our most precious resource!" the figure ranted. "If we humans suffer from our actions, well, maybe we'll end up getting what we deserve in the end. But what about the wonderful sea creatures in our world? The fish that no longer have a place to live because we stole and soiled their seas? The whales and turtles that won't have a place to raise their young and watch them grow?! We are creating a world in which innocent creatures suffer as a result of our actions!"

"This guy's really starting to weird me out," Alex noted.

"...and that is something that I cannot forgive!" the figure shouted. "That's why I came to a decision, you see. The foolish actions of my fellow humans, the seas we have blighted, and even nature itself... I will return everything to its unspoiled beginnings!"

The figure raised his hand and summoned a staff to his hands in a splash of water. "So says Wavemaster!"

"Wait, does he have some kind of water powers or something?" Melissa wondered.

"How perceptive of you all," Wavemaster chuckled, aiming his staff towards the spies. "This staff gives me command of the waters so that I may cleanse this undeserving world. Would you like me to demonstrate?"

Wavemaster snapped his staff downwards, and a large wave came rocketing towards the spies. Nick quickly projected a psychic barrier to defend his friends from the wave.

"Yeah, hood boy, I have powers, too," Nick taunted. "And since you're apparently new in town, all I'm going to say is that you just made a horrid mistake trying to attack my friends."

"You'll have to find the part where I'm supposed to care, boy," Wavemaster laughed, waving his staff to surround himself with an orbiting shield of water bubbles. "Because I certainly can't!"

"Get ready, everyone, here he comes!" Sam shouted as Wavemaster advanced on them.

The spies split in all directions when Wavemaster aimed the bubbles at the spies.

"I don't want to be the one who experiences what happens when those bubbles hit us!" Clover exclaimed.

Wavemaster didn't give up and tried again.

"This isn't getting us anywhere!" May complained after they dodged five total shots.

May then hurled her anchor at Wavemaster to foil any future shots, but Wavemaster dodged it. Nick saw May's anchor and used his psychic powers to send it Wavemaster's way.

"Get set for pain, man," Nick remarked as May's anchor hit Wavemaster in the back.

It was enough to get him to fall from his position to the cement below.

"Now it's time to find out the real ID of this 'Wavemaster' fellow!" Blaine exclaimed.

However, Wavemaster managed to slip away before Blaine could even touch his robe.

"That's not for you to touch!" Wavemaster snapped, managing to pick himself up quickly and fire more explosive bubbles from his staff.

One of the bubbles quickly floated towards Sam, but Nick raised his hand to protect Sam with a psychic bubble that the water bubble exploded harmlessly against.

"Big mistake, buddy," Nick retorted as he sent Wavemaster flying back with a Final Shine Attack.

"So sorry you had to press your luck," Wavemaster cackled as he raised his staff before snapping it downwards and unleashing a well of water around Nick.

"Oh, please, I've been wet before," Nick taunted.

"...what does water conduct?" Wavemaster chuckled, only for Nick to surround himself with a psychic bubble just as Wavemaster fired a blast of lightning from his staff.

"Nice try, but I've already dealt with that trick before," Nick quipped.

Wavemaster decided to harass someone else and turned towards Alex, only to once again be blasted back by Nick.

"That's another no-no, my dude," Nick taunted.

Right after that, Wavemaster saw the odds were against him and did a tactical retreat, though Haruka managed to slip a tracker on him before he left.

"Damn!" Melissa swore.

"I guess we have to worry about Wavemaster later," Clover replied. "We better see if everybody here is safe and unharmed."

"Good point," Mat quipped.

The thirteen spies went in different directions around The Flow to see if the people were okay, and fortunately, no more than five people were seriously hurt – just tiny scrapes that were before their visits to The Flow.

"Well, I guess The Flow is safe," Haruka replied.

However, when they were just getting set to leave, Mat called the others back to the battle site.

"What'd you find, Mat?" Sam wondered.

"Some kind of water from Wavemaster's bubble attack," Mat answered as he was using his DS to scan the substance.

"I can smell it, too," Nozomi commented. "It's almost like gasoline."

"For someone who's a water enemy, this sounds a little contradictory," Bridget stated.

"In a way, I agree," Melissa quipped.

That was when Sam's X-Powder chirped, and Jerry and RiCO appeared upon answering.

"Hello, spies," Jerry greeted.

"What've you got, Jer?" Sam wondered.

"We do have the results of the substance Mat found," RiCO started.

"Well, let's hear it," Alex remarked.

"From what I've gathered, it's a strange mixture of water, oil, and gasoline," RiCO explained.

"Well, that would make sense, given that our new friend has some kind of staff that lets him control water," Blaine noted.

"We're also picking up trouble at one of the public pools about twenty minutes away from your location," RiCO added.

"Is Wavemaster there?" Britney wondered.

"If by Wavemaster you mean the guy with the weird hood and funny-looking staff, then yeah, it's him," RiCO answered. "He looks like a real nutcase."

"With how he was ranting about 'returning the world to its unspoiled beginnings', I'd believe that he's a bit loony in the head," Melissa chuckled.

"Well, then, how about we stop moseying around here and take this guy down?" Bridget responded. "Sonic Mode, online!"

Bridget dashed off towards the public pool in question, the spies following quickly.

But when they got there, everything seemed completely fine, despite earlier reports.

"...huh," Dawn quipped. "Was it a false alarm?"

"I'm not entirely sure," Nick responded, pointing to the sky above the pool. "We have a weirdo floating around."

"Does nobody see this guy?" Mat wondered.

"I wonder if he's using that staff of his?" Haruka replied. "That thing's pretty strange, after all. I wouldn't be surprised if he's hiding himself with one of his little water tricks."

"Then I'm going up there and popping his bubble personally," Nick proclaimed, taking a few steps back so nobody nearby would see him flying into the air before taking off towards Wavemaster and charging towards him to attack the strange aquamancer...

...only to pass through the Wavemaster like he wasn't actually there.

Nick reached out and watched his hand pass through the Wavemaster, only for the illusion to disappear when he did so.

"That would explain why no one saw him, then," Nick quipped as he flew back down to rejoin the spies. "It was just another trick."

"So, is he actually anywhere nearby?" Alex pondered.

"It looks like his signal's gone dark," RiCO answered.

"I did slip a tracker on him earlier, but maybe he managed to find it," Haruka quipped.

"I guess all we can do for now is head back to the beach house until mister waterboy decides to show his face again, huh?" Sam admitted.

"I'm definitely hitting the pool when we get back," Clover proclaimed. "I still need my daily summer allotment of pool time, you know!"

"Yes, yes, we heard it before, Clover," May teased.

2:11 P.M. – The Spies' Beach House

"PIRATE DIVE!" May shouted right on schedule as she cannonballed her way into the pool. Thankfully, nobody was in May's direct path when she did so, since they'd already seen enough of that happening this summer.

Still, the splash from her impact managed to drench both Britney and Bridget, and they were both eyeing where May had jumped into the pool.

"You're so lucky this pool's too cramped for me to use Sonic Mode effectively," Bridget teased.

"Aw, all that for lil' ol' me?" May giggled.

Nick was currently underwater, trying to find a way to surprise May that she wouldn't see coming (and infinitely glad he could actually swim now, thanks to W.O.O.H.P.).

But he stopped in his tracks when he looked back up towards the surface and saw a strange glint. At first, Nick wasn't sure if it was just the water reflecting sunlight from above.

But when he noticed the glint was getting closer, he swam back up quickly.

"Ack, Clover, really necessary?!" Sam sputtered after Clover had inadvertently splashed her.

"Hey, you can't deny it's fun, Sammy!" Clover laughed, only to find herself dunked courtesy of an up-and-over from Haruka.

"And that, my dear Clover, is what we in this house like to call 'karma'," Haruka teased.

"Why can I never predict that?" Clover groaned once she'd resurfaced.

"Simple," May chuckled. "It's like my Pirate Dive. You're not supposed to be able to predict when it's going to happen. Nick only gets a pass because he's a psychic."

Nick resurfaced as quickly as he could, and Alex was the first to notice the panicked look on his face.

"Nick, is everything okay?" Alex wondered.

"EVERYBODY, OUT OF THE POOL NOW!" Nick shouted.

When the spies all heard something approaching, they decided to listen and vacated themselves from the pool swiftly, but Britney and Bridget weren't lucky enough to get out in time due to being near the center and were caught up in a large whirlpool of water that had thundered downwards from the sky and blasted the pool, sending water every which way.

"All right, who's the wise guy?!" May exclaimed.

"Take a wild guess," Nick responded, pointing to the sky where Wavemaster could be seen aiming his staff downwards towards them.

"Did that son of a bitch actually make a house call?!" Haruka growled.

"I'm more worried about Britney and Bridget!" Dawn shouted. "They're still stuck in that thing!"

Nick surrounded himself with a psychic bubble before charging into the whirlpool, the bubble protecting him so he could safely grab both Britney and Bridget and take them out of the whirlpool. Meanwhile, May tossed her anchor like a javelin, and though Wavemaster dodged it, it did force him to dissipate the whirlpool.

"You're gonna pay for that, you know," Nick growled.

"Does it look like I give two hoots about you or your feeble friends?" Wavemaster laughed. "I told you, humans don't deserve this planet. I was merely doing you a favor."

And that was all Nick could stand, as he flew into the sky and clocked Wavemaster in the face with a vicious right hook before blasting him away with a Final Shine Attack.

"Those were my friends you just tried to turn into pulp, by the way," Nick retorted. "And that, if you missed that memo, is an instant line-crosser when it comes to me."

"I suppose we'll have to pick this up another time, then, won't we?" Wavemaster chuckled before waving his staff and disappearing in a splash of water.

"Oh, no you don't!" May exclaimed. "You're not getting away from us that easily!"

With that said, all thirteen spies ran out of the beach house, changing into their spy suits on the way out, so they could chase after Wavemaster.

To be continued...

Next time...

Melissa: Stop running, you aquatic jerk-face!

Wavemaster: Sorry, but I'm like the water myself, I can easily slip away when you least expect it.

Nick: Yeah, but you're dealing with us. And as a psychic, I know how to contain things.

Wavemaster: Let's see you try me this time, boy!

Blaine: Yeah, yeah, buddy, we've seen that trick before.

Wavemaster: You're definitely a stubborn bunch.

Mat: We get that a lot, too.
