Background:
Suzie Egypt is the daughter of the librarian, Sally Egypt, who adopts Jenni and Marley. As an infant, Suzie's father was killed in a mining accident, forcing Sally and Suzie to move to the Americas. The two established a library in New York where Suzie schooled herself. When Jenni and Marley came around, Suzie fell in love with both of them. At the age of 18, Suzie was taken hostage by someone attempting to rob the library, Jenni sneaks up behind him and kills him, saving Suzie. Ever since, Suzie feels she owes Jenni her life and has been working with her.

At first, Suzie is shown to be homosexual as she shows to have feelings for Jenni and Marley as well as her fellow female associates. However, she marries Jeremy, the clerk at Marigold, revealing to be bisexual.
