Chapter Eighteen: What Happened?
Six weeks ago at the Clubhouse, Maria walked into the clubhouse because Michael asked her to meet him at the clubhouse to hangout with him. Maria wasn't impressed at first due to the guys whistling at her because of her looks but Michael told them to knock it off. As Maria came up to the counter and she sat with Michael, Michael said "Hey beautiful". Maria pushed him, she said "If I knew you wanted to flirt with me I would've just given you my number".
Michael chuckled, he said "Nah I wanted to talk to you about what happened at Hearst" he then asked "Hey bartender, get a drink for my friend". The Bartender went to get a drink for his friend, to which Michael asked "So what happened in the computer lab?". Maria looked at Michael and said "Yeah what about that?" Michael stated "I was thinking about it". Maria asked "What have you been thinking and such?" and Michael replied "And uh".
Michael took a drink before he said "How you held onto me darling" Maria replied "That was a one time thing because of the situation we were in". Michael had chuckled a bit before he said "Yea, but if we were to go to the dance together then". Maria rolled her eyes before she said "So you heard about Caleb and Elizabeth?". Michael nodded and he said "Yeah, Elizabeth's pregnant and such, it was something that got to me from Peyton".
Michael stated "Personally it's about time that the man finds his one, and to be honest at least it's Elizabeth because she's the one gal, that I could see those two working out". He took a drink before he said "No listen, there's something we need to talk about". He added "And you can't tell Elizabeth about this either cause it'll destroy her, sort of". Maria asked "What's going on" which Michael replied "So I was with Caleb and we were hanging out".
Michael stated "And this random guy came around talking with us a bit, the dude came from the city and he's a recruiter. well he seemed to have caught Caleb's interest". Maria asked "What did he recruited for specifically? Like what did he do". Michael replied "Obviously military dude, my guess I didn't look at the name but he wore like blue pants with a red stripe". Maria asked "Hm, odd did he do anything that seemed unfamiliar".
Michael added "He carried around a white cover with him that had a golden emblem on it" and Maria nodded before she said "Why would Caleb be interested in that life". Michael replied "My guess, he's just wanting to prove himself". He stated "The man's going to become a father eventually, so it's understandable why he's doing it". Maria nods, she took another drink before she asked "So you ever thought about going into service".
Michael chuckled, he said "Yeah at one point but I don't think I'd qualify due to my history" he told her and he added "Got into too many brawls with students". Maria nodded before she asked "What would you do if you could" to which Michael replied "Either Army or Marines". And Maria nodded before she said "Personally I think you'd look good in the uniform". Michael chuckled a bit before he said "Oh I am sure I would look good".
Michael added "It's just It's not really my thing and I just don't want to leave home, you know a lot of them get cheated on and you know I don't want to worry about that". Maria nodded and she held his hand, and she said "I get it". The Jukebox played a song that Michael hated and he said "Ugh not this song" which he had seemed annoyed at. Maria asked "What's wrong with the song" which Michael replied "It's too depressing".
Maria asked "Why are we stopping" and Michael said "There's something you should see" which he took her somewhere where they could hide. Maria asked "What's going on" Michael replied "Now" and when they had looked around the tree. Elizabeth and Caleb were walking together in the park while they were talking about something. Maria had asked "You like to watch the two on a daily basis?" Michael shrugged before he replied "I just make sure they're safe".
While they watched the two and the two had stopped at a bench and sat together, Caleb stated "Y'know you were the prettiest thing I ever saw". He stated "I don't know where I went wrong in my life but all I know is I'm glad I have you" and he chuckled a bit. Elizabeth replied "We just met due to the circumstances that we were in and it benefited us". Elizabeth noticed that Maria and Michael were watching them and she said "We're being watched".
Michael said "Shit we've been spotted" and he stated "Plan B" and he pushed Maria against the tree and he kissed her to make an excuse for them. Maria was surprised when this happened but she wasn't fighting against it either and instead she was influencing him. Caleb and Elizabeth came over to them which Elizabeth said "So the two lovebirds are at it". Michael stated "Oh says you two, sitting on a bench together".
Caleb rolled his eyes and he stated "And here you two acting all secretive behind the tree" which he had Michael there when he tried to corner Caleb and Elizabeth. Michael rolled his eyes, and stated "You were raised too much in the countryside, Caleb". Caleb asked "What are you saying" which Michael chuckled a bit, he replied "You two spent too much time at the river". Elizabeth remained quiet now, which Caleb wasn't going to argue now.
Michael stated "So what's the deal with the whole pregnancy thing" Elizabeth replied "Not so loud, we're not trying to have people start rumors". Michael chuckled, he stated "Well I still think you two will be great parents" which Caleb replied "Oh I know we will". Maria stated "You guys better message us when it happens, cause we'll want to come see you guys". Elizabeth said "Oh hold on now, I don't think it'd be best cause I'd be exhausted and such".
Maria said "Well you guys better at least post photos of your kid" which Caleb chuckled, he said "Well I planned on that because Ezra won't be around to see him". Michael nodded a bit, before he said "Well me and Maria have some stuff to go do". Michael and Maria walked off together and Elizabeth said "They're an odd couple I must admit". Caleb said "Hey I mean it's your typical bad boy, good girl couple meanwhile with us".
Elizabeth said "I know, the cheerleader and football player scenario" she gave him a kiss and she said "At least it's not the cheerleader and quarterback scenario". Caleb replied "I would've been real jealous seeing that scenario play out". Elizabeth stated "Don't remind me of that possible nightmare, just the thought of me being with Brian gives me the creeps". They walked together and they saw that Brian and Zoe walking together.
Elizabeth held onto Caleb as they walked past the two, Zoe had grown jealous of them and did the same thing to Brian and Brian sort of pushed her off, not interested. Elizabeth sort of felt bad for Zoe because she thought she made the right choice, she didn't. Zoe was instantly regretting her mistakes now because she screwed it all up. She had to live with the consequences now, and just watch Elizabeth and Caleb be all lovey dovey together.
