Chapter 2: Humble beginnings
2 years later
Kenji and his team had gone through the chunin exams and they were all promoted for their excellent performance, with Kenji winning the final exams. Now that they had gone up in rank they were allowed to take higher rank missions. Team Shisui began to take a series of missions that had to do with taking down multiple drug and human trafficking rings. They even destroyed one of Orochimaru's bases and brought back a traumatized Anko Mitarashi. They had also fended off several attempts from the Hidden Cloud to enter their borders as well, narrowly fending off the 8 tailed Jinchuriki with the help of several other leaf Jounin, Jiraiya being one of them.
Kenji and Shisui stood in front of the 3rd Hokage.
"For your courageous actions and successful missions over the years, I would like to promote the both of you to the anbu. Your talents in the field have led me to offer you a place amongst the elites and move amongst the shadows."
Kenji and Shisui's eyes widened as they bowed.
"Thank you sir. I humbly accept" Shisui said
"As do I, sir. I will not fail you" Kenji said
Hiruzen smiled and pulled out two masks.
"From this day forward, you will be Fox and Eagle"
"Sir yes sir!" they said in unison
"You will report to Anbu HQ tomorrow for your team assignments"
The nodded and body flickered out of his office. He spun around in his chair to look out of the window at the 4th Hokage's head.
"It seems as if young Kenji is following in your footsteps Minato. Soon it'll be Naruto's turn. Lets see what happens next" he said smiling
He snapped his finger and a cat masked Anbu landed in the room
"Bring me Ko Hyuga and Hana Inuzuka"
"Sir!"
The anbu body flickered out of the room.
With Kenji he was walking with Shisui through the village square.
"Looks like you're a step closer to being the second coming of the yellow flash" Shisui said
"Heh, you know I think I'll be better than him at this rate. I mean, I haven't even recreated the Hiraishin yet, but I have broken it down to understand that each seal has to be linked to the user's chakra. Now I just need to re-engineer the seal to work with my chakra signature and I'll be able to teleport hehe."
"Wow, I kind of understand but that's a lot to do. But from what you've said, it looks like you're well on your way to achieving the title of the fastest shinobi"
"Hah, yea. I'll be able to fight against my dad and my older cousins when they're serious hehe. Plus I'll be able to protect the village just like my dad hehe"
Shisui nodded in understanding
"Speaking of the village, it looks like we're supposed to be signing a treaty to align ourselves with the hidden cloud village." the Uchiha said
"Yea, I heard. But for some reason I get the feeling that it's a trap. Maybe that's the skepticism in me coming out from having to fight the 8 tails and barely get away alive hehe. Honestly if it wasn't for you I'd have been toast Sensei."
"Yea, I see what you mean. But I get the feeling that we won't be able to catch him off guard like that again. He broke out of my genjutsu so fast, I'm just glad you and Lord Jiraiya were there hehe. If you hadn't stopped his tailed beast ball with your Rasengan, we would be here. Along with Lord Jiraiya putting the 5 pronged seal on him."
Kenji nodded and looked up to see the sun was setting over the mountain.
"Lets just hope this treaty goes well, so we don't have to deal with them anymore" he said with hope in his voice
"Yea, lets hope" Shisui said while also looking up at the sunset
4 hours later: 10pm
Naruto and Sasuke were leaving the training field together. The two had met in the academy and become rivals, always competing for the top score. The two were evenly matched in everything and often fought each other during the moc battles in the academy. Before they knew it, their competitive sides were put aside to help one another in their goals. Naruto wanted to be Hokage and surpass his brother, Sasuke wanted to surpass his brother and be the next head of the Uchiha clan. They decided they could only grow from practicing in battle against each other and that they would help one another improve their skills.
"Heh, looks like I won the most today!" Naruto said with a fist pump
"In your dreams loser"
"Heh, this loser beat you down hehe"
"Just wait until I activate my sharingan. The gap is gonna get too wide for you"
Naruto stuck his tongue out at the Uchiha.
"Tch, such a baby. At least make a respectable comeback." he said with irritation on his face
The two continued to walk back to the village and throw banter back and forth between each other.
"You're annoying you know that"
"Yea, yea, yea, where do you wanna go to eat bastard? You won the most" the blonde said reluctantly
"Konoha Dango!"
"Fine, fine, lets go"
Their bodies flickered through the forest until they reached a trail to the village.
"My brother just got back from the border. I can't wait to test my progress against him" Naruto said
"Humph, have you ever even won against him?" Sasuke asked
"Almost, the last time, but not really hehe" he said rubbing his head sheepishly
"You sure he wasn't holding back?"
"Well, I-, Ugh no way, he didn't even release his gravity seals" he said with anime moc horror
"Che, I know what you mean. Itachi doesn't even have to use his tanto against me, let alone activate the sharingan"
"I…wanna make a difference with this power we're working to get ya know"
He looked up at the moon with a melancholy gaze.
"Humph, you're a bit of a dreamer aren't you"
Naruto shook his head in disagreement
"No, I have the power. I just have learn how to bring it out and master it"
"Are you talking about the fox?"
"Heh, well there's that, but I meant my elemental affinities hehe"
"What are they?"
"Lightning and Wind. Big bro has Fire and Wind. What about you?"
"Humph, I've got Fire and Lightning"
"Well, my whole point in saying this is that I don't wanna use this power for evil. I want to surpass my dad and become the Hokage and protect this village. I want to bring all wars to an end so we can make the world a better place."
Sasuke rolled his eyes and sighed
"Well, someone has to have your back through all of this. An idiot like you can't do this by yourself."
Naruto deadpanned as he looked at Sasuke
"Was that your way of saying you'll help me?"
"Che, take it however you want."
"Bastard" he said as he looked away with a smirk on his face.
As they were getting close to the village, Naruto notices a figure moving through the moonlight with a sack on his shoulder. He tapped Sasuke,
"What is it?"
"Look" he pointed
"So, what about it?"
"He's coming this way, let's hide and see who it is."
"Why?"
"You never know, he may be a spy" Naruto said raising his hands in the air with exaggeration
"Whatever" Sasuke said
And so they hid in the bushes and waited. Soon they heard the man making a run through the brush of the forest. They both heard a muffled cry for help as the man's footsteps got further away. Naruto looked at Sasuke and he nodded. The two began to move through the forest foliage, and soon they began to fall in toe with the man. He noticed this and jumped into the trees. Naruto created a shadow clone and it jumped into the trees to follow him while the original Sasuke stayed on the ground running forward. The ninja turned around as he landed to see the blond.
"Tch, just a kid. Hey you'd better run along before you get hurt."
Suddenly he felt two shuriken slice through his right leg artery from behind, causing him to jump backwards. As he turned around, his face was met with a punch from Sasuke, causing him to drop the sack and Naruto slid under to catch it. The shadow clone jumped in to punch at the man, but he twisted out of the way and pulled out a kunai and threw it at the clone causing it to poof away. Sasuke landed on the branch, while Naruto jumped back, opening the sack to reveal his classmate Hinata Hyuga.
"Hi-Hinata you ok?"
She had tape over her mouth as he looked up to Naruto with a concerned look on his face. He cut the ropes on her sack freeing her hands and took the tape off her mouth. As soon as she did, she hugged him tightly burying her face into the crook of his neck while crying. He patted her back and cooed
"There, there, it's ok, you're safe now"
Sasuke engaged the cloud ninja in a kunai battle, but he was on the back foot.
"Hey, Naruto, a little help would be nice here." he said as he had to dodge a kunai swipe at his jugular
"Hinata, you have to let go now. I've gotta stop the guy who kidnapped you." He created a shadow clone and she looked up at him with tears in her eyes while shaking.
"It's ok, my shadow clone will keep you safe ok?"
She nodded and hugged him once more before his clone picked her up piggyback style with her arms around his neck and he took another way towards the village. He created two more shadow clones to follow behind them just in case something ran back towards the battle and drew a kunai wrapping it in a paper bomb tag. He jumped up and flung it at the cloud ninja stopping his kunai swiping tirade at Sasuke. Said Uchiha landed next to Naruto as the kunai exploded
"Thanks for finally joining the fight."
"Yea, yea, yea. Well what's the plan?" the blonde asked
"He's fast, and it's good you cut through his leg, because it's slowing him down."
Naruto created 5 shadow clones and Sasuke drew 6 shuriken, three in each hand.
"Ok send out the 4 clones first"
The shadow clones charged the man and he held his kunai at the ready. The cloud ninja stood firm as he sliced through one clone and it poofed away. Another headbutted into his stomach knocking the wind out him, then he grabbed it's neck with his arms smashing it's head into the ground, making it poof away. He kicked another clone upwards with both legs, but then the last clone grabbed his legs and swung him around twice 360 degrees.
As the clone flung him up in the air, Sasuke threw his shuriken at the cloud ninja, causing the cloud ninja to take evasive action. Naruto and his clones raised up the trees to try and attack him. He blocked a kick with his good leg and he blocked a kunai swipe, before receiving an axe kick to the head.
"Namikaze Ono Keri!" (Namikaze Axe Kick)
The kick sent him crashing into the ground until they saw that he substituted with a log.
"Damn!"
Suddenly he reappeared on a branch and going through hand seals
"I'm gonna kill both of you kids for interfering!"
However before he could finish his hand seals he had to dodge a barrage of kunai thrown at him. He felt back and began to fall to the next branch, but as he did he saw the Hyuga clan head meet him up close, with his byakugan active and he smashed his palm into the man's chest, sending him flying and crashing into a tree, causing his back and head to receive severe damage, killing him instantly.
Naruto landed on the ground dispelling his clones looking at the clan head in awe. Sasuke walked up next to him as well looking in a bit of shock, but keeping his composure. Hiashi looked at the two boys with a stern gaze.
"I was under the impression that this man had my daughter. Where is she?" he asked
"Um, I had my shadow clones take her back to the village" Naruto said shakily
He looked ahead and used his Byakugan's range to see the Hokage and his anbu with Naruto's clones holding Hinata as they began to head back to the village. Soon another leaf ninja landed next to the clan head. He looked back down at Naruto and Sasuke as he deactivated his Dojutsu. He landed in front of them and bowed.
"Thank you young Naruto and you as well Sasuke. I'm aware you are classmates of my daughter. I am in your debt. If there is anything I can do to help either of you in anyway, please do not hesitate to ask"
Soon Kenji landed on a branch to see the clan head rising from bowing. He jumped down landing 10 feet away from them, as well as the other leaf Jounin who turned out to be Genma, a good friend of Shizune. As he stood from bowing he looked at Kenji and nodded in approval. Then he spoke up as he looked at the children's shocked and horrified facial expressions.
"Listen, I apologize for any trauma I have caused. But it is situations like these that will cause you all to make a decision without hesitation at a moment's notice! What has happened today will affect the Leaf Village's future relations with the Hidden Cloud. Do you both understand?"
Naruto and Sasuke nodded at the clan head
"Good, now I'm going to report this to lord Hokage. Genma, Kenji, I leave the children to you, and I myself will collect the body of the cloud ninja" Hiashi said as he pulled out a storage scroll and nodded at them both
He body flickered towards the dead cloud ninja and laid his body on the storage scroll causing him to poof away. He rolled up the scroll and body flickered towards the Hokage.
"Hey, Kenji I'm gonna scour the area and make sure there aren't any other spies,"
Kenji nodded as Genma disappeared. The older blond pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed.
"I knew that treaty with the Cloud sounded too good to be true. I wish this didn't happen, but oh well. Are you guys alright?" he asked
"Y-yea. Its just…he beat him so easily" Naruto said
"Well, we did soften him up for the guy" Sasuke said hiding his shock and awe at seeing his first kill
"Hehe, of course you did. I'm glad you two are ok" Kenji said
"Of course. We couldn't just let him beat us and take Hinata." Naruto said
"Humph" Sasuke said, nodding in agreement.
Kenji smirked at them
"Well at least your resolves to be ninja weren't destroyed"
"Of course not" sasuke spoke up
"Well that's good to hear. Alright you two, lets head back to the village" Kenji said as he touched both and the body flickered in a swirl of leaves.

Kenji made it home with Naruto and he was glomped by a red blur.
"Kenjiiiiii, you're back!"
"Oho, Hey Mito, how are you?"
"I'm better now that you're home brother"
Mito Senju is the Daughter of Jiraiya and Tsunade. She wore a beige long sleeve shirt, and beige pants, and she had long red hair, with tan skin.
Naruto looked at Kenji and sweatdropped as he began to walk to the living room. He was greeted by Akari Namikaze, youngest daughter of Noridasu Namikaze at the age of 15. She had light blonde hair, tanned skin, blue eyes, an hourglass figure that caught the eyes of many men and she was 5 foot 5 inches. She wore a peach kimono with an orange obi with a white line in the middle. She was a medical ninja under Tsunade and her mother Kumiko Namikaze who was also a medic ninja and wife of Noridasu.
"Sup, Akari"
"My little Naru, how are you?" she asked as she got up from one of the two living room couches and pulled him into a tight hug
"I'm…fine. How are you?" he asked hugging her back with a reddened face
"I heard what happened with the Hyuga heir and I was worried about you, '' she said as she rocked him back and forth while hugging him.
"I…was one of the ninja who…helped save her. I'm…fine… by the way." he said while trying to breathe.
Shizune walked in to see them hugging and laughed as Naruto was trying to subtly escape the hug.
Soon Kenji walked in with Mito in a piggybacked style and gave a satisfied grin at Naruto and they made eye contact
'Feel my pain brat' he thought as he silently chuckled at Naruto's pain.
He sat Mito down as he sat next to her and pulled out anbu mask and looked at it with a serious face.
"Hey, brother, is that a costume mask?"
"Nope, it's an official anbu mask" He said with a grin
Everyone in the room looked at him in awe.
"Wow really? That's amazing" Shizune said with a sisterly smile and hugged him from behind
Naruto was in shock and he realized that the gap between him and his brother was huge. Then he walked up and held out his fist and Kenji fist bumped him with a smirk.
"Don't worry squirt, I'll still help you train to become a Hokage"
"Heh, don't worry, I'll have my chance to show you. But right now lets celebrating your promotion hehe"
Suddenly everyone heard an explosion from the backyard.
"Lemme guess, Trunks and Uncle Vegeta are still working on their new technique" Kenji said
"Yea, and they let me name it haha" Mito said with a childish giggle
"Really? What did you name it?" Naruto asked
"Big Bang Attack haha"
"Why? Big Bang attack?" Shizune asked
"Because we learned about how the world was made today."
They all sweatdropped at the logic
"Well you can't say it doesn't make sense" Naruto said

One week later
Hiruzen and Jiraiya sat in the Hokages with Hiashi
"It seems that the Hidden cloud is threatening war on us because of what transpired when their representative came for peace" Hiruzen said
"Nonsense! They broke the treaty as soon as we signed it!' Hiashi yelled
"They claim that we killed their ambassador for no apparent reason. They are asking for retribution in the form of the body of the clan head"
"Lord Hokage, this is nonsense, surely you gest"
"They're threatening war Hiashi"
"What will we do then"
The Hokage sighed
"We can send a peace offering of an arranged marriage with one of your clansman"
"Sensei, they're bluffing"
Hiashi and Hiruzen looked at him with questioning looks.
"Show them that you have me and Tsunade back in the village and they'll reconsider" he said with an east smile
Hiashi and Hiruzen looked at each other then sighed in relief
"Of course, that's a brilliant idea. We could also have the Namikaze and clan make an appearance as well." Hiruzen suggested
They began to draw up a plan for a front that would make the Hidden Cloud think twice.
A few days later,
Hiruzen stood with Jiraiya, Tsunade, Noridasu, Vegeta and several of his Anbu and elite Jounin present as the Raikage, the 8 tails jinchuriki and several of his elite ninja with him.
"Hokage, I received your message, where is the Hyuga?" Ay said
"There will be no handing over of the Hyuga. I ask that you stand down" Hiruzen said with a strong tone.
"You would threaten war amongst our countries with a false front? You're so full of yourself you'd go to the length of having unknown ninja and false copies of the Sannin?"
Vegeta scoffed as Ay narrowed his eyes at him.
"Hokage you might want to keep your shinobi in check"
Vegeta smirked at the Raikage
"Oh, does the Thunder shadow love to hear himself talk that much?" he asked condescendingly
Nordidasu put a hand on his shoulder and Hiruzen spoke up.
"I assure you, these are not no named shinobi nor are they false copies of my students. They can release their chakra right now if you'd like." Hiruzen said
"I'll call your bluff then!" Ay said beginning to lose his patience
Suddenly, Jiraiya, Tsunade and Vegeta released their ki and chakra
"W-what is this?" Ay asked as he stood his ground with a look of surprise on his face
"Now do you believe we're the real thing?" Tsunade asked with a confident smirk on her face
"Now, will you risk war with the leaf over a blatant crime against one of our most prominent clans?"
"Whoa bro, this is not a go. If we fight them we'll be on the ropes" Killer Bee said
Xee one of his personal guards began to sweat at the 3 oppressive auras
"Che, and to think the 3rd and that other elder ninja haven't released their powers yet" he thought.
Ay grunted in acknowledgement as he realized he would be sending the shinobi world into war again due to being caught in a deceptive and heinous act.
"Fine, we will fall back for now. Bee, lets go"
"Good, let us meet in a better nature the next time" Hiruzen spoke in honesty
The cloud ninja began to fall back as the 3 ninja powered down.
"Its seems we've avoided war for now" Jiraiya said with a serious face
"Humph, if I were to release my full power I could've defeated them all" Vegeta bragged
"Now, now, that's not the purpose here Noridasu said
Vegeta scoffed as he turned around and began to head back towards the village with the other ninja.

One week later,
Mukai Kohinata stood at a glass window of an operating room as he watched the doctors trying to diagnose his son. Mukai was a 6 foot man, who wore a black shirt with a jounin vest, black shinobi pants, black shinobi sandals, long black hair in a ponytail, light skin and brown eyes.
Kabuto Yakushi, a pair of glasses, long silver hair in a ponytail, a newly trained medical ninja walked in with a white medical coat, dark purple shinobi pants, and blue shinobi sandals, to speak with the man.
"Sir, we've found the cause of his illness and we've caught it in time. It's a case of chakra deterioration, but it will be a hefty cost" the glasses wearing medic said.
Mukai felt a bit of hope in his heart for his son Sozu Kohinata. Sozu resembled his father with light skin, brown eyes and short black hair in an aqua hospital gown.
"How much longer does he have?" he asked
"I'd say that Sozu has a month before it's incurable"
"I see, I'll be sure to have the money in two weeks" he said.
Mukai nodded as he began to turn around. He took one last look at his son lying down with a breath apparatus as he began to walk out of the hospital. He made his way home across the rooftops as he thought of what he could do.
With Kabuto, he walked back to his medic office with a devious smirk on his face.
"Interesting, looks like I've found a decent pawn," he thought as he went to write a note to his partner in crime in the village.
With Danzo and Jinsuke
"Father, I understand that you want to absolve the Uchiha but give them a new residence? You don't think that they're manipulating you and the 3rd? Next you'll be making one of them Hokage!"
"Jinsuke! This village is more important than a petty squabble that died out ages ago. Madara Uchiha has died, and the Uchiha have fought alongside us for over 50 years. I even have two of them under my direct command. You will watch your mouth. The future is more important than the past my boy"
"I can't help but think you're being tricked. I mean there was an Uchiha that disobeyed your orders that night. Maybe they-"
"Enough!" Danzo said smashing the bottom of his cane against the ground
"You will let this matter go. There may be some rogue Uchiha outside of the village, but the ones here are working to help keep our family safe! Am I understood?"
"Yes…father…I understand…" Jinsuke said
"Lord Danzo, Report" a weasel masked Anbu said appearing outside of the sliding door of the mansion
Danzo walked towards the weasel masked Anbu as he nodded for him to go on. Jinsuke balled his fists with a look of contempt at his fathers back.
'The old man has become weak!' He thought as his fists trembled.
2 weeks later With Mukai,
The black haired man reached his apartment after he had gone to register as an Anbu to take higher ranked missions. He noticed a golden and black scroll on his door mat. He picked it up and opened it. The contents read,
Meet in the middle of the forest of death at midnight.
He closed it and narrowed his eyes as he bawled up his fists and decided he would take the chance on it.
That night Mukai had made his way into the forest of death, weaving past all the abnormal animals of the forest to get to the center. He landed on a branch of one of the largest trees in the area and looked around. Mukai Kohinata was half Hyuga, his mother was from a different clan while his father was of the branch Hyuga. He activated his Byakugan and it manifested in one eye as he looked around for the one who gave him the message. Suddenly, two figures landed in black cloaks with white masks with a frown and a smile. He sweat dropped at their presences as they walked towards him.
"Who are you?" he asked getting into his fighting stance
"Relax, we are friends" One man said
He couldn't see their faces due to the masks they had as they seemed to be coded with a dense amount of chakra
"Yes, we come with a task for you"
"What sort of task?"
"One that will pay you handsomely"
"And why, why would I do that?"
"We heard from a few sources that you have someone dear to you who needs help. We would like to give you a chance to save them"
He couldn't tell who was speaking as they both sounded the same. It had to be some form of genjutsu but he didn't exactly care at the moment.
"Why are you willing to help me? What's in it for you?" he asked
"Don't you worry about that. What's more important? Our reasoning or your child's health?" One of the figures asked as they threw him a scroll.
He caught it and looked down at it then back up at the two.
"Your mission instructions will be in the scroll" one of them said as they disappeared in a body flicker of wind.
He looked around to make sure he wasn't seen with his Byakugan, then he deactivated it as he made his way out of the forest. He didn't want to betray his village, but his back was against the wall and he had to make a choice. He had asked the Hyuga clan for help but they all abandoned him and his family. His wife and parents had died on duty for the village and thus he was now a single parent stuck between a rock and a hard place. Soon he leapt out of the forest with his mind made up. He would do what he had to do for his son's well being village be damned.

Mukai was on a mission from the Hidden Sand with his team. They were currently being chased away due to one of his teammates being caught by a booby trap conveniently. He had momentarily been separated from his teammates as he used that time to do a hand off with Yura, a sand ninja working for the akatsuki and Orochimaru.
"I got the info on the Namikaze and you have a live body to show proof of our treatery" he said with a neutral face
Yura nodded and gave him a scroll with his payment and he put it away immediately and they wordlessly separated. He felt guilty about betraying his village but he found comfort in knowing that his son would be taken care of. The Hyuga clan had done nothing for him but say he was an impure blood. Because of his lineage they couldn't brand him with the cursed seal. He balled up his fists knowing there was no turning back now.
With Hiruzen
Mukai had reported that one of his teammates was caught but he got the information of the Sand secretly trying to ally with the Hidden Mist. Hiruzen furrowed his brow as he dismissed the half Hyuga.
Then he summoned an Anbu
"Fox!" He said
The blonde haired Anbu appeared in the room kneeling.
"Keep an eye on Mukai Kohinata for me. I will be putting you on his team to do so as well."
"Understood." He bowed and disappeared
"You aren't that good at keeping your presence hidden Danzo"
The bandaged elder walked out of the corner as he walked and stood in front of Hiruzen.
"To what do I owe this visit"
Danzo smirked
"So you still don't trust me eh? Well I'll have you know that I've sent Weasel to shadow Fox in watching Mukai"
Hiruzen quirked an eyebrow
"And why is that?"
"He caught Kohinata and two others exiting the Forest of Death days before he left on his mission to the Hidden sand."
"Do you have any idea of who they are?"
"Unfortunately not. He was barely able to hide himself from Mukai's Byakugan"
"Humph, this could be problematic" Hiruzen sighed in resignation
"When isn't it you old monkey" Danzo said in good nature.
"Hmm, I wonder if Mukai's betrayal will lead us to the rogue Uchiha." Hiruzen Pondered
"Perhaps, if that's the case they'll need more than just the one Namikaze and Uchiha heirs"
"Perhaps, or maybe this will be the test that they need." The Hokage said with his eyes looking at Minato's photo

One week later
Sozu Kohinata sat up to see his father sitting next to him with a ryh smirk on his face.
"How's my little man doing?" Mukai asked
"I'm alright" Sozu said
There was a brief moment of silence between father and son as they heard the heart monitor pulsing and other machines buzzing to keep Sozu alive.
"Dad, am I gonna be here forever?" He asked with a worried tone
"Of course not, my boy. I'm taking care of that. In fact I just got word that you should be alright with the treatment they gonna give you"
"Really?"
He said with hope in his voice.
"Of course. I swear on my honor as a ninja that you'll be fine" he said
Sozu nodded as he smiled at his fathers words. Soon Kabuto walked in with a clipboard.
"Hi there Sozu, how're you feeling today?"
"I'm doing good Kabuto. How're you?"
"I'm doing great. In fact, today we're supposed to get started on your treatment for your chakra system" he said
"R-really?"
He said looking between his father and Kabuto in hope.
"Mhm. Your treatment will be handling by myself and Lady Shizune"
Mukai sighed in relief as he looked at the happy banter between his son and Kabuto. All he knew was that he was happy to be able to take care of his son's hospital treatment.
Later on
As he walked towards his home and saw a golden and black scroll. He gave a bitter sweet smirk and went into his home. The man waited until nightfall as he read the scroll,
"Meet at the border between Fire and Mist country."
He stood looking out of his window at the sunset. He created a shadow clone to go back and visit his son while he waited until nightfall.
"If I'm found out, I'll be killed hehe. At least Sozu will live on" he said in resignation as he smoked a cigarette.
Soon night fell and he began to make his way through the village via the rooftops. He turned on his Byakugan and looked to see that he was being followed by two Anbu. He started to pick up speed as he tried to get them off his trail. As he ran he dropped a smoke screen and body flickered out of sight, but this would only be temporary as he knew they would catch up to him.
"It seems that he's trying to escape"
"Not for long, gimme a second"
As Kenji and Itachi landed on top of the village gate, Kenji stretched out his senses to feel for Mukai's chakra.
"Got him! He's headed towards the hidden mist."
They both body flickered out and made their way towards the traitor ninja. Kenji was a bit nervous as he moved through the forest brush. He gripped his Anbu tanto by the hilt in anticipation. He knew Mukai was an Anbu captain and that he and Itachi were supposed to be watching him but he had almost given them the slip.
Mukai landed in a clearing near the border. He scanned the area with his Byakugan as he saw his two pursuers in the distance. Suddenly a swirl began to form in front of him and a man in an orange swirled mask appeared in front of him.
"So you're the informant from the leaf eh?" He said with his Sharingan blazing as he looked into the man's Byakugan.
Mukai nodded and handed the scroll him the information from the scroll.
The masked man looked in the distance as he saw the two pursuers after him in the distance.
"You know, perhaps you can be of use to me instead of dying here pointlessly. Or would you like me to leave you to your fate?"
Mukai looked between the masked man and wince he came and decided he wanted to live to see his son again.
He extended his hand to the masked man.
"A wise choice"
The masked man took his hand and began to distort into a swirl as Kenji and Itachi landed to see them disappearing.
"What the hell?" Kenji said
"It appears that he had an escape plan" Itachi said quietly
"Yea and It looks like a space time ninjutsu"
"Indeed, this could be troublesome" Itachi said
Mukai and the masked man reappeared in a pocket dimension, then back to a base of operations.
"Follow me" the masked man said
Mukai wordlessly followed behind him.
"What made you betray your village?" the masked man asked
"My son was suffering from a rare form of chakra poisoning. I needed the money for his operation" he said, pulling out a cigarette and lighting it.
He took a huge drag as he puffed out a cloud of smoke.
"Hmm, well, as payment for me saving your life you will work for me and pay off your debt by helping me capture all of the jinchuriki from the 5 great nations. Then you will be free to see your child again"
"Heh, fine by me, I'm a criminal now anyways" he said shrugging his shoulders.
He walked out to see a beautiful woman with blue hair, blue lipstik and a chin piercing in a black cloak with red clouds and a man with orange piercings in a cloak that was similar.
"Ah Mukai Kohinata, the grim reaper of the hidden leaf village. You will be a fine addition to the akatsuki" the man with orange said
He was silent as he took another deep inhalation from his cigarette and blew out a smoke cloud.
Pain went and grabbed him a cloak similar to him and Konan, prompting the man to dawn the cloak.
Mukai felt numb at this point. The only thing motivating him to keep going was his son as he took another toke from his cigarette.
'Sozu, I'll see you again. I just have to pay my debt with these people and I can see you again

The next few weeks
Sozu had woke up to see his father was gone. He went to sleep with him reading a story of Go-dai Mukashi banashi, the battle of the crab a few weeks ago and he hadn't seen him sense. It was after his surgery and he was in a bit of pain. He looked down to see his abdomen wrapped in bandages.
The Hokage walked in and said
"Looks like your operation was a success Sozu"
"Y-yess, thank you for being here in place of my father Lord Hokage"
"Sozu I…have something to tell you. It's… about your father"
":w-what is it? Is he ok?"
Hiruzen gave him a sad smile
"Your father has left the village I'm afraid"
"What, why would he do such a thing"
"I'm not exactly sure why my boy. It seems as though he did it to provide money for your operation. However, if he had spoken to me I could've helped him work something out."
Sozu began to cry as he heard the news, so much that his body began to shake. The 3rd Hokage pulled him into a hug that he returned.

3 weeks later Sozu walked into the 2 bedroom home that he used to share with his father. It was a humble abode, with a few pieces of furniture and some decorations of family photos and moderately decent artwork with white and beige colors dawning the walls. He walked into his bedroom and saw a folded up note. He opened the note and saw it was from his father.
"Dear Sozu,
If you're reading this, then I'm either dead or I had to leave the village. I wasn't able to afford the payments for your treatment so I had to leak village secrets to get the money. I won't expect you to understand and I feel as though I've doomed you by trying to save you. I reached out to the Hyuga clan, but they denied me. I guess I can't blame them, we aren't legitimate Hyuga after all. Please don't be hateful my son, you must rise above it like a phoenix from the ashes. Put your blood on the seal at the bottom of this, I've left you my chakra sword and a scroll with my sword style of the Zanjutsu. Be well, and I know you will become a splendid ninja."
As he read the paper he began to shed tears. He looked at the bottom of the seal and bit his thumb dripping blood onto the seal and an all black katana with a small chain link connected, with a black sheath and a black cloth wrapped around the hilt popped out.
He held the word in the sword in his lap and cried silently. He sat it on his bed and walked to grab a towel to dry his eyes. As the boy walked into the bathroom he looked in the mirror and saw that his eyes were red.
"What the fuck?" he said in fear
He got a sad smirk on his face. Then he frowned with an extremely hateful glare in his eyes
"I'll make that garbage Hyuga clan pay. They will regret everything!" he said, balling up his fists until they bled.
With Jinsuke Shimura,
He walked into the forest of death and made his way to the edge of the forest. He found a hidden trap door covered by a genjutsu making it look like the forest foliage. He walked in and closed the door, with a hidden seal reactivating the genjutsu. He walked down a long stairwell lit by torches. As he got to the bottom, he saw a scientific laboratory, with test tubes, beakers, diagnostic sheets, experiment tables, dead bodies and a multitude of other things.
As he walked into a room he saw Kabuto Yakushi and Orochimaru.
"Was the mission a success?" Mukai asked
"Yes, it seems the akatsuki have acquired Mukai Kohinata" Kabuto said
"Good, now that we've given the akatsuki a usable piece, we can commence with our operation of creating the hidden sound village and Higure" Orochimaru said
"Humph, yes, we shall raise this village to the ground and the hidden leaf village will be reborn" Jinsuke said
