Chapter Three

At the open backend of the Feadship yacht, three teenagers stood closely together, staring outward at the nightly ocean. Bruce's son, Adrien Driscoll, a young adult boy of twenty years with a black mullet, wearing a dull-white top within an open mid-grey shirt and black baggy jeans.

Bruce's daughter, Jacklyn Driscoll or simply "Jackie" for short, a young girl of sixteen years with light-blue eyes and medium-long bright platinum-blonde hair tied into a simple ponytail, wearing a peachy-coloured jacket over a black T-shirt and baggy denim trousers as well as black and orange trainers. Lastly, Diego's and Vera's daughter, Nadya Noceda, a young girl of fifteen with brown eyes and short pixie-cut brunette hair, wearing a white and indigo hoodie, dark grey shorts, and white slip-ons.

"I spy, with my little eye," Nadya spoke first as she shivered slightly even within her hoodie. "Something beginning with..." She paused as she looked around for something hopefully not too obvious. "...S".

The other two teens scanned around for anything remotely beginning with such a letter, something on the yacht, something surrounding said yacht, something nearby, or even something far away.

"Sea?" Jackie took the first guess.

"I said S, not C," Nadya said back while folding her arms.

"You know what I meant, Nadya," Jackie smirked back.

"Yeah, you're correct, Jackie," Nadya soon gave away. "It is the sea".

"My go then," Jackie quickly went for it. "Okay I spy, with my little eye, something with S".

"Sky?" Adrien immediately guessed,

"Blast!" Jackie snapped her fingers before drooping her shoulders and pouting her lips.

"I guess that means 'correct' in English, sis?" Adrien teased.

"Yeah yeah, bro," Jackie waved off.

"Allright, umm..." Adrien stroked his chin. "I spy, with my little eye, something beginning with S".

"...Stars?" Nadya raised her hand.

"Right on, kid," Adrien smiled.

"Oi, I ain't a kid, Adrien," Nadya replied with a cocked brow and an annoyed tone.

"You sure?" Adrien grinned cheekily.

"Sure," Nadya said before taking her turn. "I spy, with my little eye, something beginning... with..."

"Is it gonna begin with S again?" Jackie huffed.

"No silly," Nadya blushed. "It's something beginning with B".

"Would the answer be bedtime?" A familiar motherly voice spoke in from behind. The three turned back to see Vera walking down the short spiral staircase.

"The answer is actually blackness, but that's a good guess," Nadya noted.

"Nadya, one of the rules in the game is to not give out the answer right away," Jackie rubbed her temple.

"Well I hope it was a fun game anyway because we all need some shuteye," Vera stood smiling with both hands on hips.

"I know I do," Adrien stretched his arms before yawning.

As he and Jackie went to follow Vera, Nadya looked back at the ocean behind, hearing a faint distant vroom like a motorboat engine. Slowly, she walked down the steps until she stood upon the very tail-end of the yacht, holding onto the metal railing. Soon enough, her naive eyes caught glimpse of something, something peering forth from the dark.

"Nadya, you coming too?" Jackie called out.

"Who's that?" Nadya asked, turning her head to the others.

"Who's who?" Vera asked back.

"That," Nadya pointed.

Vera, Adrien, and Jackie walked their way back down to Nadya to look where she was pointing and eventually seeing what she saw. A motor dinghy with a lone figure within, waving.
