*Marshall pov*
Those voices. I wake up from being unconscious. I can only see partially. I see only red in one eye. Who was that? I could tell Spyro was there but everything else is a blur. But now I know what I need to do
I look around to see the wolves holding down my friends and worst of all, the black wolf was attacking Everest at her weak point, her heart.
"YOU ARE A CURSE, if you were never born no one close to you would have died," he tells her. "LOOK AROUND YOU EVEREST, HOW MANY LIVES HAVE TO END BEFORE YOU UNDERSTAND THAT," he yells at her.
"YOUR WRONG!" I yell. I see all the eyes on me. I pull off my vest and pup pack. "SHE IS NOT A CURSE, SHE IS A BLESSING," I yell out to them. "You will never understand how strong she is, she held this burden for so long," I tell them with tears starting to form.
"She makes sure everyone is safe, putting others before herself," I say with a lot of emotion. "Because that's what it means to be strong, you will never understand that," I tell him with tears streaming down my face.
"WHAT WOULD YOU KNOW ABOUT BEING STRONG!" The black wolf yells at me furious. "HOW COULD SOME SPOTTED PUP KNOW WHAT IT MEANS TO BE STRONG!" He yells. "YOU KNOW NOTHING!" he yells back.
"You think you're strong because of your power, strength can't be given, it earns," I tell him. "Only the people that fail will know what means to be strong, through failure comes resolve," I tell him.
"YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING, THE WEAK DIE, AND THE STRONG LIVE, THAT'S HOW THIS WORLD WORKS!" He screams at me. "YOU WILL DIE, THAT BITCH WILL DIE, EVERYONE CLOSE TO HER WILL DIE!" He screamed.
"NOBODY IS SAFE NOW BECAUSE YOU WANTED TO PLAY THE HERO," he yells to me. "No, I'm not a hero but no one will die here tonight even if it KILLS ME!" I say to him.
"CATCH!" I hear Chase yell out. I look over at him and see he punched the wolf holding him and threw his sword. Spin as it flew and landed in the ground straight up. I look at my side and see the wound that the black wolf caused.
I will keep the promise I just made, no one dies here! I pick up his sword in my mouth and stare at the wolf infront of me. Remember what he told you.
"YOU WILL DIE HERE," he yells out and takes his stance. Focus, put all my energy into my legs. Smoke starts to come out of my legs. "Dragon Style, Third Form, Lighting Fang!" I say and rush at all four of his legs at lightning speed. I slice at all four of the joints in his legs and quickly switch gears. Do what you're good at.
*Flashback*
I was in a big cave with a lot of space. Spyro was on a rock with his eyes closed. His swords were laying on the side of the rock he was on. I was wearing my vest, pup pack, and Cinder visor. Spyro was wearing his black and purple cloak. I was sitting infront of him.
"Just relax, you need to learn to be more calm and relaxed, try meditating." He tells me. "I don't understand," I tell him and tilt my head. "You have confidence, and you have a sword but what you need is concentration," He tells me
"I have a new technique for you but you need concentration, precision, and speed for this, and therefore you need to relax," he tells me without opening his eyes.
"Just show me, I can do it," I say with a smile knowing Spyro has something cool to show me. "It's not that simple, this technique is something only you can do," he tells me. "It will embody your fighting style and will test you at every turn," He said forming a smile.
"If I can't see it how do I copy it?" I say and tilt my head to the other side. "You don't, you have to figure out how to do it yourself," he tells me and opens his eyes. "Which is why you need to meditate," he said while moving his body over to the side of the rock and patting his hand on it.
I sigh and jump on the rock next to him. "What do I do?" I say. "You know how to over-accelerate your muscles but this time you need them to be relaxed," he tells me and closes his eyes.
"Relax your muscles and close your eye and just feel," he tells me and I close my eyes. "Feel what?" I ask. "Everything, the cold breeze, the crickets sounds, and the feeling of relaxation," he said while smiling.
"If swordsmen can't relax in the heat of the moment they are doomed to fail but through those failures you find resolve," he said. We just sit there for a while enjoying the scenery and the feeling of peace.
"Okay, that's enough for today, tomorrow I will tell you what you need to do for this new technique," he said with a smile and I couldn't help but smile back as we walk back home.
*End of flashback*
This is what I am good at. "Dragon Style, Form Eleven, Quick Step," I say and use the speed from before to launch myself off the floor and jump around with extraordinary speed. Jumping off every part of the cave like a spring.
I hit the black wolf with every jump slicing any part of him I can reach. Then I launch at the wolves holding down Everest and Chase slicing their chests and feet. They quickly get up and look a what I am doing.
Bouncing off every wall like a spring I launch myself at the black wolf's chest. Slicing it And going under him and slicing all of his undersides and jumping back to the walls. I can't keep this up for much longer, especially with these injuries.
I look at the other wolves stopping Everest and Chase and I make quick a decision. I quickly gain my momentum back and launch myself at the wolves slicing up anything that stands in my way.
I lose my momentum and control and after I slice the wolves I crash into a wall. I drop my sword and lose my will to keep moving. I fall to the floor and bleed out. So this is it, I hope it was enough.
Then I feel someone grabbing me. I open my one good eye to see Everest and Chase helping me to get on my feet, smiling. They flip me and put me on my side. "You did great, let us do the rest," Chase tells me with a calm voice and a reassuring smile.
Everest just smiles at me and wipes away her tears. "You guys need to get out of here now," I tell them. "Sorry Marshall but I could never just run, just like you," he said with a cocky smile. He pulls his gun out of his pup pack.
I could see the wolves getting closer. "Everest, you have some medical experience right?" Chase asked her and pick up my pup pack and handed it to her. "I only know what Marshall taught me but I'll try my best and forget the rest," she said and takes the pup pack.
I could tell I was starting to pass out and Everest noticed it too. "Try to stay awake, you can't pass out," she tells me with distress. She starts pulling out bandages and wrapping my side in them.
I look at Chase and see he was fighting multiple wolves. I looked over at the black wolf and see he fell and is either passed or trying to get up. Everest finishes patching up my side and then moves on to my head.
"You know I'm not that strong, I was just scared to say anything," she said while dropping a few tears and wrapping my head. "You know, your just like Spyro, always keeping things to yourself but would do anything to keep their friends safe, you are strong because you fight for others, not physical strength," I say while smiling.
She tears up and finished wrapping my head. "Thank you, for everything," she said while smiling and crying. Chase started to get closer with the wolves getting closer. "We are running out of time here, are you done," Chase asks Everest. "Yeah but how are we going to ge-" She tried to say but a loud roar stopped her in her tracks.
"I'LL KILL THAT PUP!" The black wolf roared at us. Seething with anger, he walked towards us. "Crap!" Chase said while fighting the wolves. The black wolf walked closer and closer. Everest stood infront of me with a protective stance.
"Don't come any closer," Everest said to the black wolf but he laughed. "Do you really think you can protect him like you try to protect your friends in the north, What was her, oh it was Snow," He told her and her blood ran cold.
He walks right up to her face, "Get out of the way or I'll make sure your death is excruciatingly painful," he told her but she did not budge. "I will die before I let you touch him," she said dead serious
"Fine, have it your way," He said raising his claws but Lightning stops him. Lightning ran into the cave and shocked a few of the wolves. Once the lightning cleared you could see a man wearing a cloak staring at the black wolf.
"Who are you," the black wolf asked him. The man smiles and pulls down his hood. "You hurt my pups, you tried to execute one of them, now, I will make you regret everything," he said while curling his fists. It was Spyro!
